Really good Mexican fare served quickly by friendly people. There's a good sized outdoor seating area. Inside decor is a little sparse, but it hardly matters as the food is so good.
Had a Torta De Asada. With everything, it was delicious, and the beer was cold. Will definitely be b back again.
Food is so good, the tortillas here are amazing.
Tasty new spot. Solid value. The burritos are large and made evenly from top to bottom, the selection of quesadillas is cool, and the large horchata is hella large….especially when they ask if you want ice or not. The red sauce is kinda spicy, and the green sauce isn’t. The patio is an active scene, while their dining room is quiet spacious and clean. I typically write reviews after a few visits, but when I saw whole big slices of fresh avocado all throughout the burrito, I knew it was review worthy. Plus, in this location, the neighborhood can use a cool new option like this. Solid spot and I hope they succeed. Ps…no pics because I ate everything…lol
I love Lopez Taqueria 2 so much that I want them to cater my future wedding.
Best fish tacos ever, flavorful and big! Love their pico de gallo. Friendly staff. So lucky to have this taqueria in the neighborhood. Have eaten there several times since they’ve opened. Highly recommended.
We had the best chili verdi burritos. They were full of amazing pork. Super nice staff and very friendly. Support local family business. A+ rating for us.
The food was delicious! They serve good-sized portions, and the cost is reasonable. We loved our burritos!
Ordered the beef caldo , Al pastor taco , carne asada tostada & last but not least a bean rice and cheese burrito everything was so good authentic delicious a hidden gem for Great food
My first time here but the food was delicious and service was fast.
Best Mexican food in SJ. Meat is juicy, everything is seasoned and cooked well. Service is quick. Staff is friendly. It's become my go to
Food was surprisingly great! Had the carne asada plate. Everything was really good. Also, had nacho fries with pastor…very yummy. Will definitely come again.
First visit here. Had a great carne asada burrito. The lady running the register and bringing out the food was very friendly and helpful. This place is on my list to return to.
WOW! We just happened to drive by here while searching for Mexican food and boy we got lucky! Ordered, carnitas taco, asada super burrito, chicken tostada and a small bean and cheese burrito. It was FANTASTIC!! The salsa's where fresh and delicious. I can't wait too go back!!!
Food was delicious and super fast service. I love the vegetarian options! I got veggie sopes and they were soooo good! Also the house salsa is very good.
The best wet burritos are made with frijoles de LA oya ifykyk... Green salsa great taste
New neighborhood gem! We got super nachos with chicken, fish tacos and side of rice. Everything was fresh and delicious! Can't wait to go back and try other items!
Vegetarian Super Burrito is good.
Quite a great Mexican restaurant in Downtown San Jose. 👍🌮🌯🫔
Amazing food, friendly service and food comes out in a timely manner. A little slow during lunch, but that's because of the amount of orders they're pushing out and getting.
This restraunt is very very yummy and has some of the best customer service in San Jose hands down the nicest people and some of the best food in San Jose ! Give it a try 10/10 recommend !
I just had the best nachos I've ever had in my life! All the ingredients were so fresh and flavorful--chopped tomatoes, guac, sour cream, cheese, pickled jalapeños, etc. with a good balance of ingredients. For protein I chose the fish and they were perfectly fried. The only tip I'd offer to anyone ordering the nachos is to eat them as soon as you get them. I got to the restaurant late and picked up my order but by the time I drove home half of the nachos were soggy. The green and red salsas were excellent if you love heat (like me). Looking forward to trying the tacos and aguas frescas!
Best chicken burrito. Salsa was on point
Been coming here for a few years now, this place is just great. Food is consistently delicious and the salsa is really great too. Nice vegetarian menu and I hear the meat is fantastic too
I’ve been going here for the past 4 years and it always hits the spot. Easily the best burritos in San Jose.
Fantastic food and friendly service. The portions are generous, and the meats are always fresh. I'm a big fan of the fish tacos and burritos, but I have yet to have a subpar meal from Lopez. There is ample seating inside and on the covered patio.
I love this place. Great food and such wonderful, accommodating, and friendly service. I've been coming here at least twice a month since they opened, and the food has consistently been amazing. I love their fish tacos/burritos, but have tried a number of their dishes. You can't go wrong with whatever you get. Go and enjoy!
Ordered takeout and really enjoyed my enchiladas (red sauce). The chips and guac were so tasty and very worth the reasonable price. Staff were friendly. This was my first visit but I will definitely be back. Parking was a bit unique, so please pay attention to the signs for everyone's safety. Casual, breezy outdoor seating, too.
Excellent chili Verde Super Taco! Piping hot, double wrapped tortillas, the inside tortilla is grilled, the outside is not. Melted cheese with avocado and beans. Tender pork. $5.00. Chips & Salsa $2.25. I’d definitely go back. A little hidden gem on Park Avenue in the Rose Garden Area.
I happily get lunch here once or twice a week. Ingredients are very tasty! Burritos large. Tacos have a firm shell inside a soft shell, love that texture. Tortas delicious but messy to eat, haha. All dishes come with side of hot green sauce and hotter red sauce and a section of lime or lemon.
Some bomb tacos! Crazy fresh, nice and spicy, and delicious seasoning. Tried the asada and pastor. Both were absolutely delicious. Couldn’t keep from eating them all before remembering to take a photo. Lol. Don’t sleep on the Rojas salsa! A gem. Great end to a great Thanksgiving vacation. I’ve been an Angeleno for 18 years so I’m a taco snob and these superseded my snooty tastes! They even satisfied the harshest taco critic, my mexicana novia. ❤️🌮
Old decor but great inexpensive food.
Love, Love, LOVE the carne asada super tacos!!! Super friendly staff, and your order's always ready in about 10 minutes. I'm super picky about my tacos and this is one of the best taquerias around. SO, SO GOOD! Also, the carne asada burritos are super huge—can never finish the entire burrito, so there's always enough left over for a midnight snack... and for breakfast they have the best Chile Quiles around 😄👍
I had a couple of delicious shrimp tacos. The shrimp were perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the tortillas were nicely charred a little on the edges. The decor is basic, but very clean. There's lots of seating inside and out, and they have heaters outside for cooler weather. I'll definitely be back. UPDATE:. It's only been a few days, and I decided to try it again. Still delicious. The quesadilla al pastor had flavorful meat and lots of avocado.
Good spot I go here every day at work for the $4.50 "little burrito" bean rice cheese. I hope they don't raise the price. Comes with free chips & salsa.
A great neighborhood Mexican place that sometimes outshines the fancy places on the Alameda. After a sting of disappointments in the same location Lopez taqueria moved in and immediately upped the game nearby they have a sold meat selection my personal favorite is the carnitas, one of three pork choices each with a wildly different but still delicious choice the pollo and carne asada are also good choices and they have tounge and tripe for more homey choices. The tacos, both normal and super are always solid but if you go through the menu you'll find some stand outs chief among them the enchiladas they are so tasty and best the fancier places on the Alameda along with the Michelada rimmed with shrimp it's a full on shrimp cocktails and Michelada! Everything we've ordered has been generally great.
Cozy spot with no loud music or pretentious vibes — just great food and a relaxed atmosphere. Very clean and well-kept. Prices are fair, and the lengua tacos are the best I’ve ever had. Tender, flavorful, and served fresh every time. Definitely my go-to place now.
Been here once so far. There was no gristle in the carne asada. Which is good because I'm a princess when it comes to that. I got the California burrito, which actually came with the correct stuff. I've been surprised how other restaurants in this area might not have guacamole on theirs. Or fries. And the beans were pinto instead of refried, which I think is a plus. The prices were reasonable, and the service was great. The flavor was probably 4/5, but it's still good quality.
I am a fan . They have really good super tacos 🌮 Love their green sauce. Predominantly super friendly service . Very quick . We tried the Caldo chicken soup tonight. Really yummy, it came with side of rice, hand made tortillas and side spices w/ onions. Rustic , yummy chunKY soup .
Absolutely delicious! So much so that my 11 year year wanted it for dinner a second night in a row lol.
The food was so good, we ordered more to go. The service was impressive. I was actually very pleased with it. The people were so nice.
Finally not over charged for a simple taco plate. 3 crispy tacos 🌮 rice and beans. 15 bucks. Fast and really flavorful.
A local gem. Food is fresh and delicious. Shrimp tacos, fish tacos, and wet burritos are all first rate fresh and delicious. The Michelada is decadently satisfying and the service is fast and friendly. Love this place.
food was great & plenty of options Enjoyed the music
👍 Please like my review if it's helpful to you. This is my go-to place for a taqueria. Due to their unfortunate location with a lot of competition, they always have plenty of room to sit inside or outside while finding easy parking. If you are a bicyclist, it's great to watch your bike while having a meal here. I have brought a lot of my friends and family to this place and they absolutely enjoy the food. For me personally, I love the fact that they have one of my favorite meats available. Moreover, I would recommend their burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. Of course, I need to try the entire menu soon. My partner also approves the shrimp burrito! The staff has been very respectful and kind also. They also have two different types of spicy sauces just in case you like something just mild or hot.
Best food I've had in San Jose, since I left Texas.
Great food with outdoor seating available. The super tacos were amazing I ordered 2 and it was more than enough to leave me full. Great carne Asada and they do not skimp out on the avocado. Had already taken a bite of my food.
Very good. The restaurant is located in a residencial part of San Jose but has parking and plenty of seating outside and inside. We went on a Friday in the afternoon and there was enough seating. To order, you go to the cashier and then you get your food delivered to your table. They have many classic mexican options and beer too. We had the regular taco with carne asada and another one with al pastor. Before that, you are served some chips with salsa - very fresh and good. The tacos were super authentic, nice flavor and the green and red salsas are a must. We also had a beer (only 4 dollars!). Would definitely go back and highly recommend!
I really liked the food here. I had tacos and the meat was so fresh. Made to order i think because it was really tasty. Menu is well rounded . I’ll be back to try something different next time. Plenty of parking and seating inside and out.
Takes a bit of time for the soup to be prepared, but it is pretty tasty. The tortillas are a bit thick and yummy. Here for round two getting tacos and the Lopez plate (steak and shrimp). Too bad I'm driving as I am skipping the beers tonight. Oh well.... It is still awesome
Welcoming and friendly staff. Very knowledgeable and appreciated the recommendations. Breakfast is served all day. Got chicken tacos, steak tacos, side of rice, chicken burrito, and horchata. The chicken is outstanding! The best chicken tacos I've had. The steak tacos weren't bad either. Love their salsas, green was mild and red was slightly spicier but not too spicy to where all you taste is your mouth on fire. Love that they use avocados instead of guacamole, sometimes guacamole may be overwhelming with lime flavor. The horchata was very mild in favor and not too sweet, still delicious but I prefer a stronger cinnamon flovor. Only downside is the small parking lot, about 5 cars and one handicap. Highly recommend this restaurant and getting the chicken tacos.
Absolutely delicious..l was visiting San Jose for several hours just to get in 2 museums…the Winchester house and the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum…. When I was done at the REM I missed the bus so I decided to just walk to the train station (I had a few hours left)…we’ll just a few blocks down on the other side of the middle school I saw this place…it was empty, but open…so I decided to pop in…I was hungry anyhow. I didn’t want to order too much since I didn’t want to be too full while walking so I ordered one “super taco” with carnitas and a Pepsi…..OMG if that thing wasn’t overflowing…..oooph…and if the amount of fillings wasn’t enough, they actually double up the tortillas (corn…the best!) so I was able to make 2 tacos out of the one… I hadn’t had tacos that delicious since I moved up from Homestead several years ago….absolutely delicious and authentic!…. I wanted more but I was already fuller than I should have been so I ordered one more wrapped up to go…once I made it to the train station I ate it and it was also just sooo delicious!… muy Sabroso! if I’m ever in the area again, I would make it a point to come by.
A lowkey taqueria that has a proud variety of dishes from tacos to burritoes and enchilada plates. I ordered a wet burrito and found the portion sizes quite massive and could only finish half. I also appreciated their freshly made horchata. There is plenty of parking with both indoor and patio seating. The food is made quickly and is a great place for a quick bite!

I love this place. They have a lot of variety and they make everything really well. I've gotten everything from nachos to Chilaquiles and various soups. They do entrees especially well.
Lopez Taqueria 2 was a fantastic experience! Recently I gave it a shot after hearing good things and was impressed by the consistently fresh flavors and efficient service. The atmosphere was welcoming and the food hit the spot, making it a reliable goto for a quick, satisfying meal
The food is amazing, especially the carnitas and carne asada. The service is fast and friendly, and the prices are good for the amount of food you get. If you need the bathroom, it's outside on the side of the building facing the parking lot.

Solid food. Hubby had the Carne asada California burrito, which had fresh fries, rice, beans, avocado, salsa, Carne. I had a taco plate with a side of chips and salsa. Everything was delicious. Salsa was great, really taste the char on the veggies before blending into salsa. We'll be back to try the other items.
This restaurant has a wide variety of authentic Mexican food. It has an indoor dining room, but it is low-end. The bathroom room is outdoors on the side of the building. The establishment is friendly. You go here for the food. They are one lare.
Hidden gem! Opened in Oct 2022. I had the carne asada, chile Verde, al pastor, and breaded fish tacos were sooo juicy and flavorful. The tortilla had a nice crunch to the edges. Clean facility and phenomenal staff! I just wish the chips were freshly made, ours were mixed with stale and crunchy. You can also ask for their homemade tortilla for an additional fee, they're impeccable!
Cons: -Chips and salsa were just okay -Cashier asked if we wanted ice in the jamaica. We said no, and she still gave us ice Pros: -California Burrito was great and filling for the price -When asked about the kind of oil they use in the kitchen, they knew right away (soybean oil). -Within walking distance of where I live I found my new Mexican food spot!
Only complaint is a 4% charge to pay with a card. Prices are a little expensive but what isn't these days. My burrito was very big which helped absorb the pain of the cost. Unfortunately many places are now charging $12 for a burrito which is way overpriced unless it's a really good size burrito. My burrito was actually decent and pretty good. Place was very clean and the outside bathroom had just been cleaned so it was very nice and looked well kept. Workers seemed nice as well.
I like the fact they have a terrace and it's on a pretty quiet and calm street
After attending a show in Hoover theater we were very hungry and this was the nearest open restaurant so we decided to give it a try. I didn't check the menu beforehand and I was worried whether or not I will get any vegetarian options. I was pleasantly surprised to see a vegetarian section in their menu. I had vegetarian taco and toastada. Food was good! My husband tried super taco with pollo and a fish taco, he like both. It was a chill place, we loved their patio seating. This is a self service place, all the staff was friendly though to help with water, condiments etc.
Went for lunch, and it was pretty solid. It’s located in a quiet neighbourhood and finding parking was pretty easy. I went on a weekend, but the place was relatively empty during the lunch hours. The places pretty big and they have seating both inside as well as outside on the patio. You go to the register place your order pay, and then they bring your order to your table. I got the chilaquiles in red sauce as well as a fish taco, as I thought the Chilaquiles might not be enough. Big mistake. I will start with the fish taco. It was a good fish taco with all the usual sauces and a crispy battered fish. It was good, but I feel like I’ve had similar tacos multiple times, so it did not really stand out for me. This was my first time having chilaquiles. Although I knew what to expect, I did not have any reference to compare to. I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed. It wasn’t bad, but I guess I was expecting something else entirely. It came with the side of eggs, beans, and rice. Overall, a decent Mexican place, but I have had better Mexican food in the Bay area.
I think of this place as a hidden gem in the rose garden area. I ordered the sopes and although they were very messy to eat, they really satisfied that craving of home cooked Mexican food. The shrimp tacos were also great. No fishy smell/taste to them. The cheese was a nice touch and pulled it all together. The only thing that we really had to wait for was the super michelada. It arrived at our table after we were already more than half way done with our meal. The staff was nice enough to explain why it took so long. The restaurant itself is located in a very quiet neighborhood, right next to a middle school so expect traffic midday during the week. The parking lot is a bit small. Outdoor seating is available and probably preferred since the inside is so small and cramped. Regardless, still a great menu and now that I’ve tried some items I’ll for sure be coming back to order something different.
First time at this restaurant. I tried the shrimp, asada and al pastor tacos. All were good with the exception of Al pastor, it was dry and not very flavorful. I couldn’t even finish eating it. I would come back to try other items on the menu.
I had a Carne Asada Super Burrito. It was decent. Came with rice, beans, cheese, guac, and sour cream. I would've liked to have pico de gallo, onions, cilantro, etc. on the inside as well. As far as flavors I would say it's pretty average. I would've like to taste the freshness in the ingredients more. The meat and the green sauce on the side could use a bit more flavor also. The burritos were good size and will definitely feel you up. Price was alright for what it was Service was quick and staff was friendly. Overall I'd give the food 8.1/10. If you're in the area I'd recommend trying for yourself. It's an easy convenient location and is a nice spot to walk to if you live in the neighborhood.
Very good, first time here. Super quesadilla was big I shouldve got a not so super quesadilla. Fries were great and the food was awesome. Will definitely go back

Food is good only ate here once......so far had wet burrito really good but have had better. Will upgrade my opinion after I've had an opportunity to sample other dishes in order to have a better opinion
Lacks flavor. Nothing special but works if you need a quick meal. Staff are always amazing.
Food was decent but took longer than expected to come out. Early afternoon so it wasn't super busy but staff seem to be a bit more concerned with their own doordash coming in.
Standard pricing. Great deal on beers. My burrito was ... o k. Bug burrito, so I was hopeful but there was barely any meat, and all I tasted was burnt tortilla.
Felt a little nickel and dimey. Ordered a burrito without meat, was charged extra for veggies, and an unannounced $0.50 credit card fee added to the bill. $15 for a so-so burrito? 🤨
Meh. There are so many good neighborhood Mexican restaurants within walking distance. The food here is decent, but nothing to get excited about. And the ambiance is without homey or comfy touches - quite cafeteria- like.
Very average food. Asada no flavor. Shrimp taco not the best, fish taco ok. Fish itself was good.
Chilaquiles were nacho chips with canned red sauce poured over them at room temp and overcooked eggs on top. Rice and beans were bland. Coffee was out of the can and they had no cream or milk. We tried to eat it but just couldn't and left hungry.
The food sucked, we have to order and pay the food. then you can sit down in a table. The caldos both beef and mixto flavorless no salt!
No flavor, my whole enchilada plate was bland. Paid for chips n salsa which is unusual in most mexican restaurants. We got 8 chips with a tiny paper boat of salsa. My first 2 bites of enchilada had gristle. Sigh. I had my family with me so that was 3 plates of food. They got burritos. I spent 58 bux honest waste of money. I'm glad other people seem to enjoy this place. This was my first and last visit. No way I would ever spend money here again.
Been a few times and can’t get my order correct also found a long hair in my food tonight. Last time I go here rather drive 5 minutes further for safe hair free food. Sucks cause they’re walking distance from my house but a drive for sanitary food is worth it in my opinion try at ur own risk.
If you love Mexican food, don't go here! I was not impressed, even the beans and rice were super bland. I got flautas and they weren't tasty. They were over-cooked, therefore, very dry and super crunchy. I do not recommend.
My mom, my brother and I have lunch here every Saturday! My brother had a mouth surgery and we went there so he could have a fish soup because it is soft. When we walked in there the cashier was a guy! Never seen him there. He looks like he works in the kitchen! We ordered our food. However, the waitress bought him a shrimp soup instead. We told the waitress he could not eat the shrimp because it was too hard due to his surgery! First she said she was going to bring some fish, but after awhile she came back with the receide and told us we ordered the shrimp soup! I said that we would not order shrimp because we knew he couldn’t eat it! The fish is softer! I took the soup to go for me and he went home without eat! Very disappointed! I am not sure I am going back!
Their tacos were among the worst we’ve ever had. We tried the chicken, beef, and fish, and all were disappointing to say the least. It's surprising this place has high reviews (hence why we went), given the below-average quality of the food. With so many other great Mexican food options in San Jose, I suggest staying away from this place.
Worst experience ever ! Received the wrong order and the tortillas were uncooked… who a burrito with shrimp and salad and sauce ?? Will never order from there again..
THE THIRD TIME IN A ROW ORDER THROUGH DOORDASH WAS INCOMPLETE. THE TICKET ON BAG WAS CORRECT BUT THE ITEMS WERE NOT IN BAG. So disappointed, we used to l9ve this place. Originally gave 5 starts with this review:The best menudo in San Jose! Great buche tacos and the fish tacos with slices of avocado are superb
I keep wanting to give this spot a fair shot but after three disappointing meals, I’m afraid it’s the end of the road for me and Lopez Taqueria. Am I ordering the wrong items? First try was veggie nachos—very bland and turned to mush quickly. Second try was a carne asada super burrito…the meat was tough, bland and dry and the rest of the burrito was flavorless mush that I didn’t finish. Third time I had al pastor tacos which were shockingly bland and I am unfortunately going to have throw these away as well because each bite is worse than the last. I’m sorry Lopez…I really wanted to like you but I don’t think I can take another bland meal.
My experience is bad here. I had a takeout order. When I arrive there for pickup, the server had no clue what I ordered. Turns out their system has issue, charged me but they didn’t get the order. The server tried to hand write my order but she does not know the taco plates have 3 tacos. They later figured the order out but I need to wait there since they need to start prep food from beginning. When I went home and opened the bag, turns out they forgot the cilantro and onions, as well as my guacamole. I had a most bland tacos and chips meal :(
I just ordered a beef soup and I didn’t notice that it comes with chilly pepper 🌶️ and I’m allergic to it. I ask them if they use pepper and they said yes , one of the lady there told me it’s fine I can change it for another platter and I said it’s ok . My family and I ordered fish soup and green enchiladas and some tacos but surely the lady told me that the manager or owner said that she can’t do anything and can’t change the food cuz I tried it but obviously I did and the menu doesn’t show the ingredients of the soup or food . That was so Rude I explained that I’m allergic. But anyways this is the kind of people that don’t have to be manager or this kind of thing I loved this place I order food almost 4-5 times a week And now it’s bad time .

Has a decent sized vegetarian menu but the food is pretty meh. No fajitas. The vege nachos was super soggy and slop of cheese. The vege super burrito just felt like rice and beans. I took a few bites left everything on table and walked away.
