Pleasant breakfast place in Evergreen Square - offering bagels, good coffee, bakery items (brownies, pastries, donuts, cakes) and more. Free wifi available. Provides both indoor and outdoor seating. Right across the street is park with fountains that kids can dip their toes into. Plenty of parking available on the street.
Always a warm and friendly place to relax and get a cup of your favorite hot morning beverage. Dogs are welcome outside on the covered patio. Sandwiches and sweets are available for breakfast or lunch. Smoothies and other drinks are available if you're looking for cool refreshment. We enjoy just sitting and relaxing, talking with our neighbors or just people watching while on a morning walk. A truly nice place to visit.
The best chai latte I've ever had!
Love the place. I am a regular. The lady who makes my bagel has a killer smile. Sonya, her name. She puts her heart into preparing your food and hands it to you with the sweetest smile. God bless you.
The coffee is delicious and hot. The owners are friendly. It is a quiet and quaint spot to work and write your research papers! I love this place already! This morning is my first time here and it feels like home! I found my new new secret hideout!
I really like the hot Vanilla Lattes here. The danishes are sweet and the Thai Ice tea is a little sweeter than some. But everything is delicious and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming early morning.
Have visited this place quite a few times. It's consistently good. Good variety of espresso and non-caffiene drinks. They also have a great assortment of pastries and serve sandwiches. The bagel and cream cheese was delectable! It was fresh and tasty.
Surprisingly good neighborhood coffee plus bagel place. They custom made my egg, ham and cheese bagel and it came packed with flavor. Paired with chai latte mixed oat milk for $10 was perfect way to start the morning.
Nice convenient place with lots of seating available. The menu has plenty of usual stuff for a coffee shop. I especially liked the conversation with the staff member serving my order. Would definitely visit if i am in the neighborhood
My favorite coffee shop in san jose <3
I’ve loved my experiences going here. Best coffee hands down among coffee shops and Starbucks’ around here. Super friendly and warm service too and good environment to study during the day
Always a very flavorful coffee and tasty breakfast. A very cosy place for the morning sips.
We come here every Sunday after dropping our kids to their class next door. The coffee, food and their service are all consistent and good. It's one of those mom and pop neighborhood coffee shops that's neither fancy or crappy. It does its job and does it well.
I love this neighborhood cafe. It is a place I can take easy time chatting with my friend and enjoy a sip. It is also the place I can enjoy my quiet reading over dark coffee. I wish all the best for the store.
Went here once a few weeks ago and have been back a few times already within the past 2 months. Lightweight obsessed with their Nova Lox and I get it with their jalapeno cheese bagel. For coffee, I have tried the vanilla latte (iced and hot), iced caramel latte, and the caramel macchiato. The macchiato is the best so far, the vanilla and caramel latte are good as well, but the macchiato is the one.
I like this store. It has outside sitting. It has flea market so near there, especial on Tuesday. I order Vietnamese Iced Coffee.
I wish this place was open for longer hours🥲 I went on a Saturday afternoon and waited 2 minutes in line and 2 minutes for my pastries and drinks. Super fast and everything was yummy! I got: - banana bread (not too sweet and huge piece) -taro coconut smoothie (delicious and balanced flavor between both ingredients) -blueberry coffee cake (sweet and MUST try!!)
I'm obsessed with their Nova Lox bagel. I enjoy their iced vietnamese coffee too, strong and sweet as it should be. Service is great and seems like a nice, quiet place to study or relax for the students nearby.
Lovely place for a Saturday morning breakfast. Our favorites are jalapeños bagels with cream cheese and latte outdoor seating. They have a decent option for vegetarians. Just a warning that their latte is way stronger than Starbucks latte :)
Good variety of teas, coffees, smoothies, baked goods, and more. Staff is friendly and fast. The drinks and food we've had we've really enjoyed. They have a cute outdoor eating area with a nice view. I'm sure we'll keep going!
Pretty good coffee shop in Evergreen area. Tons of options on breakfast and pastries. Patio or inside sitting. Can get a bit crowded
Small family owned business in evergreen valley square. Legit the nicest peeps. Love the coffee focused decor too even in the restroom haha. Came here mainly to work, they got great wifi and outlets. No music playing so it was easy to take meetings in. They used to have an outdoor outlet too but j think they closed it off.
Rare find - old coffee shop with trendy menu at affordable prices! Plenty of space to sit and work/study. They have dubai chocolate matcha latte too.
We enjoyed a Mexican spice Frappuccino and matcha tea latte both were delicious and made as we specified. The woman taking a order was very patient and helped answer all our questions. It wasn't too busy. The seating outside is very nice.
Excellent family owned business! The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and inviting! Can't forget to mention the alluring aroma of brewed coffee. Party of 6 arrived around 11:30am, and the line was quick with an even amount of diners entering and leaving the business. The staff are kind, caring, and considerate of our large order when some of us could not decide what to drink and when we asked for substitutions. The popular order of the day was the #5 or Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Croissant. I decided to order was their Breakfast Delight, a croissant with scrambled eggs, green onions, and cheese with a Sunrise smoothie. Very pleased with the large portions of food. The toasted bread was soft; eggs were seasoned and cheese was melted to perfection. The Sunrise smoothie was super sweet and refreshing! Would come here again for sure!

Love coming here to get the breakfast bagel sandwiches. The service is always great, fast and the location is a beautiful area to go for a walk.
Coffee is really good. They have lots of cold drinks and food options too including sandwiches. Large, shady patio overlooking the grassy square.
The customer service at Evergreen coffee shop is exceptional, going beyond expectations to create a welcoming atmosphere. The establishment fosters a sense of family, and the owners demonstrate great respect and appreciation for their security team. We've been coming here on and off for years, as we live just down the street. It's an adorable shop with a nice selection of food and drinks. The food has always been consistently good, whether it's the oatmeal or the bagel with lox. Their Americano is a tad blah for me but they do a nice job with their cappuccino. It would be nice if the owner made more of a point to "greet" patrons and maybe get to know them. We would most likely come more often if we felt like we had a relationship.
Kind of a typical coffee shop with a good large menu. The main thing that sets it apart is the outdoor seating across from a nice community park with a fountain. It's a great change from the typical strip mall scene of San Jose.
Typical coffee shop. The coffee (latte) was good, perhaps on the overpriced side. $5 for a large latte is typical, but I'd rate the cup as more of a medium size. There may be some home made bakery items, but I saw what looked like Costco muffins (which are not necessarily bad). They serve a wide variety of hot and cold beverages.
Great place! Friendly, kind people. Good coffee. Only problem at times is their slow but through attention to detail leads to a bit of a wait during busy times. Great bagel or croisamr breakfast sandwiches. Try the mexican mocha coffee. Yummy!
Solid little coffee shop. Staff was nice, food was pretty decent, and the atmosphere of the place was nice. There were several outdoor tables, which my group appreciated. I have only one disparaging remark: The drink I got (Rose-uccino) was too hot to drink for almost half an hour, even with the lid taken off the cup on a cool day, and once it was at a drinkable temp, it didn't taste like anything much beyond a plain coffee. But, I'm still planning to go back and try a few more things! One meh cup of coffee does not mean a bad coffee shop, after all. :)
I am just thankful that we have a locally-owned coffee shop in our neighborhood. Plenty of other people in the neighborhood seems to think the same, since if you come at the right time (or wrong time), there can be a line out the door! Kudos!
Awesome coffee! Recommendations the Mexican mocha and banana pudding latte

We’ve probably been here a couple dozen times at this point and have somehow never rated it, but here’s an honest Evergreen Coffee review. This is the best neighborhood coffee spot around, bar none. It’s highly accessible since it’s directly in the square and it’s easy to grab and go or sit down and chat with some friends. It’s pretty welcoming inside as you see all the locals drink and eat, some even doing work throughout the day. Ordering is pretty quick and they have a pretty wide menu of pastries, sandwiches, coffees, and teas. Typically we just get coffee here, and it’s pretty good. From iced to drip to specialty coffees like dirty chais or mochas, they make drinks well here. Sometimes the quality can be hit or miss, but the misses are never bad. The standard here is good coffee, which is nice and dependable. This place has been here for some time and always has constant business, and that says a lot about its spot in the neighborhood. This is just about as consistent of a coffee spot as they come and its location also gives it higher consideration. Whether it’s a pit stop or spending hours doing work, Evergreen Coffee Co. is the place to be.

It was okay.. ordered a vanilla latte but it didn’t taste rich more watery than oat milk latte
Located right in the middle of the Village Square, I ordered hot latte but I did not try any food item here. I was expecting a real cup for my coffee ☕ not in a paper cup, slightly disappointed.
I got a tuna sandwich, it was okay but it was still a fresh meal for a hot day. Iced caramel coffee was yum. The muffin was delicious too, very soft and perfect sweetness and it was huge for me, like the size of my whole hand.

Great place to hangout with our furry baby on the weekend. The atmosphere is wonderful. Our favorite drink is the "Rose-uccino". But, for some reason, the last couple time, it was made much different. One time, it was boiling hot, my wife and we both got burned in the mouth. This morning, the medium size cup was only 1/3 filled. And it was super sweet. We couldn't even consume. Hoping it is made just right like before once again.

Decent bagels and drinks, but the hours are absurd and the older gentleman that works there - as confirmed by other reviewers - is actually kind of unsettling. There's no warmth, no appreciation for your money, no smiles - hard not to take personally, but I see it's just a general demeanor or maybe a problem of his. Great location, but I'd love to see better operating hours and keep that guy away from paying customers if he can't improve his attitude.
Got a mocha here. It was served piping hot and couldn’t taste neither the coffee nor the chocolate. But why piping hot? It tasted like hot water. I expected more from this place.
I gave this coffee place another chance because it’s in my neighborhood and I like to support our local small businesses. The coffee is ok, not bad. The sandwiches and bagels not bad. What’s bad is the male owner. He may be prejudice or just down right rude. I’m not sure. I would like to support. I would like to recommend this coffee shop but I wouldn’t want him to give the same horrible customer service to my family and friends. Way too embarrassing. He grabs our $ or credit cards right out of our hands. He never says thank you. He NEVER SMILES! My grandkids and I all order drinks, smoothies and a coffee mocha. It was around 11:00am. My grandson had brought his Subway sandwich in Evergreen coffee place and asked me if he could sit and eat his sandwich. The place had 2 -3 other guests sitting inside at the time and no one outside. The extremely rude owner...says to my 11 year old grandchild NO YOU CAN’T EAT THE SANDWICH IN HERE!! He literally kinda startled us. But because my grandson respects his elders he didn’t say a thing. I however did, I told him calmly, this is why I stopped coming here. He looked at me with a rude dead stare. We got our drinks and left. It will take a lot to go back again. There are far too many other places you can stop and eat and have a nice drink, with happy friendly people. Happy Holiday Mr Grinch
Thieves and crooks. After being a loyal customer for years and before the new owners and newer management, the current staff, except for Amy, are thieves and crooks and I have witnesses. They always overcharge me but when I ask for the receipt, they change the amount. They charge me $1 for soiled faucet water. I have the heart to call the police on them for stealing and cheating their customers. And the health department for servicing soiled water. It is so bad that I will never step foot in this place again. This place has been my break away from life. I love the outdoor seating and I love watching people go by. I made friends, good friends there. I take my whole family, my kids, my grandkids there. No more. I told them today that they are thieves and crooks. so they offered me extra cream cheese. That is not the point Stephanie. The point is that your have been cheating me and stealing my money ever since you guys took over. If the police or the health department sees this review, don't blame me. Blame yourself. Where has all the love gone to and what have we become? Who charges extra if they want the croissant toasted and extra if you want butter? With a friend, we ordered 2 coffees and a bagel. The charge was $27. I went back and questioned it. Tommy says "oh, it should be $18. This is very normal. you are lucky I still remember" as if he is doing me a favor. another charge of $10 for coffee and donut. When I asked for the receipt, "oh, it is $5.50"... $6.50 for a single glazed donut? Come on! Always ask for a receipt. They cheat you with a smile.
Absolutely ridiculous behavior I had a particularly bad stomach ache this morning and while I was taking care of business in the restroom I was greeted with multiple knocks on the door about 8 minutes into my journey I responded with "someone is using the restroom" multiple times to no answer just more periodic knocking. Eventually, the man outside proclaims I've been in the restroom too long. At this point, I don't want to struggle through the rest with someone harassing me through the bathroom door. I step out at 12 minutes and the worker outside proclaims I've been in the bathroom for over 20 minutes (which was a lie, I have timestamps from a text conversation before I arrived at the restaurant) What an extremely unprofessional way to treat your customers. Have you never had a stomach ache before?! Sometimes it takes more than 10 minutes to use the restroom....Do you think I enjoy sitting in public restrooms for that long?
I have enjoyed getting coffee here for years and it’s a great little coffee house but today they lost a long-time customer. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee and I asked for it with no ice because I didn’t plan on drinking it until much later in the day. I didn’t want it watered down. I received the coffee and it was half full so I asked the owner why is it only half full? He said because you ordered it with no ice. Never in my life have I ordered a drink with no ice and received the drink half full?!? Maybe I’m being critical but when I go to Starbucks and order a drink with no ice, it still comes full, if I order a drink with no foam, they don’t fill it only to where the foam should be, they fill the cup! If you go to a fast food place and ask for a soda no ice, do they only fill it half way? Maybe this is normal but doesn’t seem logical to me. I asked the owner how much more for you to fill the cup, he shrugs his shoulders and says maybe $4.50?! Did he just pull that number from his …? Mind you, I’m already paying $6.50 for a 16 ounce Vietnamese coffee so you want me to pay $11 to get a full cup?! With his logic then he should give me a discount because the ice has to cost something too right (since we seem to be nickel and diming). As a business owner is it really worth losing a long time customer because you couldn’t fill a cup? Apparently so!
