10/10 recommend. Don’t think twice, make the reservation and try everything. I came in on Wednesday night and sat at the bar. Decided to order the tasting menu and was not disappointed at all. The flavors were amazing, all so well-balanced and complimented each other. I was excited for each dish that came out. Great service and atmosphere.
This is hands down by far one of the best sushi places in all of San Jose. The blend of melt in your mouth flavors and the super welcoming atmosphere has made Trifecta my go to spot for great vibes and great eats. The family that owns/runs this place are great people, and they (and the staff) make you feel like you are extended family the minute you walk in. The chef team at Trifecta is ultra-creative, and every time we go in there there is always something new to try. Your tastebuds, and friends and family, will thank you for taking them there - especially if it is on a Thursday when the live DJ is spinning. Just tell them what you want, and they'll definitely make it happen... FWIW, my wife is a vegetarian, and some of the sushi they have made for her is absolutely stunning (she is a super picky veggie). Give it a try if you're looking for a top notch sushi venue in the South Bay!
We recently celebrated our anniversary at Trifecta, and it was an incredible experience. From the moment we walked in, the service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and genuinely excited to make our evening special. The highlight of the night was the chef's out-of-menu course meal, a personalized culinary journey that was truly a work of art. Each dish was a delightful surprise, showcasing incredible skill and creativity. The sushi was a testament to freshness, with every piece melting in our mouths and each flavor perfectly balanced. The sake pairings were thoughtfully chosen and complemented the meal beautifully. We ended the evening on a high note with their exquisite matcha cheesecake, a delicate and creamy dessert that was the perfect palate cleanser. This was more than just dinner; it was an experience that we will cherish. Thank you, Trifecta, for making our anniversary so memorable.
Phenomenal establishment. Great service. Very friendly staff. And the food is top notch. It's much more than the traditional sushi experience. They add their own twist and it works wonders. Kudos to Ryan and his brother for a great experience. Do yourself a favor and order the Chef's Choice and they'll do the rest.
The Oma case dinner at Trifecta Japanese restaurant was a soothing journey of flavors. Each course was beautifully crafted, balancing freshness and artistry. The atmosphere enhanced the experience, making it both relaxing and memorable. S perfect escape into refined Japanese dining.
Trifecta is an amazing restaurant. Everything we tried was so fresh and flavorful with an amazing presentation. The customer service was warm and friendly nurtured by a family owned business which made you feel welcomed as soon as you set foot in the door. We were able to interact with two fabulous chefs who put a lot of thought and care to each dish they prepared which presented itself with every bite. I cannot wait to be a returning customer to be able to experience many of the other dishes that caught my eye.
Trifecta review We’ve had the pleasure of experiencing Trifecta’s pop-up omakase events during their early years. So we were excited to finally try their first restaurant hoping that the quality would live up to the standard of their pop-ups. Happy to say that it delivered. We were super pleased with all the dishes we ordered. And we had just got back from Japan! This place is definitely a level above what your typical neighborhood sushi restaurant is at. The ocean trout is always a must. And the sake bottles were priced very reasonably for a restaurant. Bar seats are always fun if you want to be closer to the action. Family owner, original menu, nice service, easily recommended by us.
We visited Trifecta for their first lunch service and it did not disappoint! We've been following them for quite some time, and my partner and I were so excited they opened for lunch service. Chef Bradley and the Trifecta crew were fantastic hosts. We ordered a ton of nigiri, drinks, and small plates -all of which were absolute stunners. My partner's favorites were the Hokkaido scallops and I loved their hamachi. Every dish was balanced, delicate, and amazing. Quality fish, distinct flavors, and thoughtful preparation. And don't pass on the drinks either! The ume-shiso highball was refreshing and delicious and the Hitachino beers are always refreshing.
OMG ... what an amazing meal ... We tried the Sesame Expresso Sake. Highly recommend I'd you like coffee !!! Wow and the sesame cookie is to die for. They make them in-house. 100% great experience!!!
Excellent Japanese food. Welcome to the neighborhood! I’ve had both their cold food and cooked food and it’s all amazing. They do a great job at traditional Japanese cuisine and they add a Pilipino flair here and there to keep you on your toes. They do not disappoint. Small venue. Make a reservation if you want to be sure to get a seat.
Had an amazing dinner with my wife and our relative who’s visiting from out of town. The food was super delicious. The Scallop carpaccio, sashimi platter, butter fish, body roll. All the fish was super fresh and the presentation was so thought out it was almost too pretty to eat. The staff was very attentive and was friendly as well as funny. Almost like talking to a friend you haven’t seen for a while. Our overall experience was a solid one and I’m looking forward to coming back to try more of what’s on their menu.
Great experience at trifecta: 4 of us got the omakase menu and were amazed at the quality and variety of the food. friendly service and fun atmosphere. there was a dj playing but it was still possible to have a normal conversation. wine list is extremely small so if you’re not into sake consider bringing your bottle. very reasonable $25 corkage.
Have been wanting to try Trifecta at their new location for awhile and am happy that I have. I know that friends and family have booked their omakase at home and the experiences have been amazing. I knew I should’ve ordered more but I wanted a quick lunch. Quality of sashimi and sushi is really delicious and fresh. I look forward to going back.
Just a heads up…this review is gonna be a mini novel because there’s just so many good things to mention. The hubbie picked this place for dinner and he did a SUPERB job! We saw they offered omakase, and thought we’d try it for dinner before committing to that type of experience. I went ahead and made a reservation for 5pm when they’re open again for the evening hours just in case. When we arrived the whole place was empty, but things started picking up around 6pm, so I would make a reservation just so you’re guaranteed a spot. The decor is cozy and welcoming. The music was tasteful and upbeat. The volume was at just the right level where you can still have a conversation, and not yell at each other or whisper or else everyone would hear your convo. I appreciate that the staff wasn’t intrusive asking questions every 5 minutes or checking in on your mid bite (lol), but they show up at just the right time. I had the yuzu strawberry mint calpico mocktail…IT WAS SO DELICIOUS!! I wanted to order more! I could taste the strawberry, yuzu, and calpico with a hint of mint. It was such an incredible harmony of flavors. And this was JUST THE DRINK! Let’s just say I’ve never felt this way about a drink before. The hubs and I were getting excited for the food. We ordered karaage and pork gyoza for appetizers. The karaage came with yuzu honey truffle sauce. I didn't really taste the yuzu, but the sauce overall was very light and enjoyable especially with the karaage. The karaage was so delightful! It wasn't heavily battered like I've had at other places, just the right amount. The chicken was juicy and it was good to eat even on its own without the sauce. The gyoza was oh so juicy! I really like how the chef had the pan fried side on top with the sauce at the bottom of the bowl. There’s no need for dipping because it’s already in the sauce, and no worries about sogginess because the crunchy bits are facing up, genius! We ordered the snow crab roll, unagi avocado roll, and the body roll. The unagi and body roll came out first. We made the mistake of eating the body roll first, because…it’ll really make your body roll (lolol). It was delicious! The scallop on top just melts in your mouth. I love that there was a citrusy note at the end that lightened your pallet. The rice to protein ratio was perfect, just the right amount of rice. The rice doesn’t fall off the roll. We’ve already decided that the next time, the hubbie and I are gonna order one roll each because we don’t wanna share. After the body roll, the snow crab and the unagi were normal rolls and had all the expected flavor notes. The body roll definitely set the bar high. We should’ve started with the other rolls first. However, we still enjoyed them and did not use any soy sauce. We don’t like using soy sauce when sushi is done right. Even to the ginger and wasabi. They were so enjoyable and added levels to the rolls without overpowering. It’s not the typical kind where the ginger would be too potent or the wasabi slaps you in the face with its intensity. The hubs said he could eat a whole tub of the ginger, and he rarely ever touches the ginger at other restaurants. Lastly, we ended the meal with the pork katsu curry cutlet. Curry flavor was on point, nicely seasoned. Pork katsu was nicely coated with the batter that wasn’t too thin or too thick. It had a right amount of crunch where it doesn’t destroy the roof of your mouth. The batter adhered to the pork instead of having dead space between the protein and the batter. Pork was not dry. There was thinly sliced pickles as a garnish and has a pretty good tang if eaten by itself. But when you combine the rice, curry, katsu, and the pickles…*chef’s kiss*. All the flavors balanced out perfectly. Bottom line: 5 freakin stars. Can’t wait to come back for more!
💖 Valentine Omakase 💖 I wanted to thank the restaurant for such a sweet valentine experience yesterday. The price to taste ratio was very fair, in my opinion. It’s not easy to find a tasting menu where everything is such high quality and flavor. In the past I think I have paid more for less, so I am appreciative and respect it. I could feel the genuine heart and soul they have put into the menu - and hope to come back for future dining journeys. Thank you! 💖 PS: my favorites were 1st (the gems), 2nd (the middle fish - so clean and meaty tasting), 4th (the pudding thing and sausage thing was fire - this was something I’ve never tried), 5th (literally liked every nigiri, no wasted time. Good use of shiso)
The food was amazing here and they executed perfectly. The setup is a great vibe and relaxing. When we went on Thursday night they had a DJ. Prices are really fair. And staff is really friendly.

I really enjoy dining here. It’s not the type of place where you want to go eat McDonalds immediately after because you’ll leave here fat and happy. Why go to a Michelin star sushi place when you can support a local family business! 🧡
Such a great experience! We arrived without a reservation and they were very kind and made things work to make sure we could dine in. The food was AMAZING and worth every penny!
Unfortunately the bathrooms are right behind the host desk, and someone had made a stink right before we entered. I held the door open for a bit to try to help. Other than that, everything was excellent!! Maggie is a gem, and came and shared for a few minutes during the meal. She shared that her family (I think son & nephew) are 2 of the chefs. Fantastic family restaurant. So glad they moved from a pop-up into a permanent location & chose to put down roots in Evergreen! Truly high quality fish, some of the best rolls out there. Worth the cost. The tacos are award winning for a reason. Faithful roll was my favorite. Oysters were delicious too. Love the influences of Filipino culture & cuisine into the food as well. Top notch! One of our guests is Gluten Free, and the servers and chefs were EXCELLENT at accommodating the dietary requirements! Made sure to always let us know which items were/ weren’t GF, and if they could be made GF (almost everything could be, and still tasted excellent). Very impressed!

Trifecta sits up in the south hills near Silver Creek, tucked into a pleasant little neighborhood strip mall with a spa, a dojo, and a few eateries. It feels a bit more upscale and artistic than most sushi spots in the area, with a very nice atmosphere and a relaxed, date-night kind of vibe. Probably not a Tuesday dinner visit due to the price. Parking was easy. Service, though, could use some polis. Once seated, everything moved at a crawl, from ordering, to food arrival, to drink refills, and the staff came across a bit cold. We kept it simple with a Japanese curry cutlet meal and a kaisen don. The cutlet had a crisp coating and a mild, comforting curry, a cozy dish even if it didn’t knock my socks off. The kaisen don was colorful and fresh, with a good variety of fish and a nice balance of textures. Definitely good, just not the most memorable version I’ve had. Not a five-star visit this time, but I could see it getting there on a better night.
Came by for a Sunday evening dinner...no reservation and sat the bar directly. Two of us ordered: sapporo 22ml (large bottle) $12 smoke hamachi tacos $15 scallop carpaccio $23 sashimi set (dinner) $55 kaisen don $60, crab on the side yellowtail crudo $23 umi masu (ocean trout sashimi) $16 Overall, the food and flavors were good. In my eyes, a bit on the pricier side for the portions and quality. Definitely, could have gone without the hamachi tacos. Easy parking in the plaza.

A Rebrand That Misses the Mark Housed in a location previously known for its underwhelming fare, Trifecta had the opportunity to redefine itself as a destination for refined sushi in San Jose. Unfortunately, the rebranding falls short of expectations, leaving diners with a Westernized interpretation of Japanese cuisine that disappoints more than it delights. The restaurant positions itself at a slightly higher price point than most stateside sushi establishments, but the offerings fail to justify the cost. The staff were welcoming and helpful, albeit slightly disorganized. The ambiance greatly improved, but strangely the unmaintained floors and ceiling cabling proved to be a visual distraction. The dishes, though visually appealing, often miss the mark in taste, presenting an experience that is saltier, sweeter, drier, and overall less satisfying than their traditional counterparts. Take, for instance, the edamame with garlic. The dish arrives understeamed, while the garlic topping is overfried, resulting in a perplexing lack of flavor. Even the basic seasoning of salt, which could have salvaged the dish, is conspicuously absent. The chicken curry, a visually promising dish, ultimately disappoints. Despite its authentic presentation, the curry sauce is overly sweet and salty, reminiscent of grocery store packets rather than a crafted culinary experience. The chicken, though well-breaded, is overcooked to the point of being unpalatable, rendering the $18 price tag unjustifiable. Similarly, the vegetable tempura, priced at $18, offers a selection that includes broccoli, onion, shrimp, and sweet potato. However, the tempura batter, heavy on rice flour, results in a thick, bready coating that detracts from the delicate crispness one expects from this dish. The broccoli, in particular, suffers from a batter that clogs its florets, creating a mushy, unappetizing texture. The sushi platter, priced at $55, provides 13-15 slices of sashimi of decent quality and assortment, yet fails to elevate the dining experience to one of memorable refinement. In conclusion, Trifecta does not offer the unique or authentic Japanese dining experience one might hope for in this area or price point. With its missteps in flavor and execution, it falls short of being a destination to dream about or revisit. This is a rebrand that, unfortunately, leaves much to be desired.
