You can never go wrong with Jack in the box! They serve breakfast all day and always have the classic favorites; the tacos , the fries(I usually always get a side of ranch dressing to dip my fries in. so yummy) , the potato wedges with the cheese sauce or a great hamburger or chicken burger! The chicken fajitas are on hit! Don't forget about the drinks you could put any flavor m into your sodas. That is so cool ! And the chocolate cake....so yummy! And the best of it all.. THE MUNCHIE MEAL! For those who are hangerin for a little of everything! I ❤️ Jack in the box it's definitely my go place they have it all! Good tasting food
I had a good experience. The person taking my order was very friendly and got my order correctly. She explained the items were out and apologized for the inconvenience. It took a while for me to place my order to approaching the window. But after that things went fast.
Food was excellent and the cashier, I think her name was Shania, was extremely nice and helpful. Never had better service.
I went to the drive-thru service window during after hours. The staff was very professional and friendly. I would definitely visit this location again.
The throes of depression had me clenched in its fatal grasp and with my marriage in ruin, I couldn’t see relief in sight. Oh, I begged for some reprieve, some semblance of hope to tether me to life, and lo’ and behold, salvation came in the form of two tacos and curly fries. Thank you, Jack, for allowing me to love my children again and they will not be orphans thanks to your generosity.
The ppl were nice, helpful and had a good attitude thru the ordering process, The food didn't take to long like other places, The food was great an tasty.
Where I've never visited a J in the B..... (Regularly visit this location 4-5 days of 7 for my U. Eats or DD deliveries & at least once for personal) .....Outside of California. So for all the ones within the Golden State, maybe every employe in each of those locations may want to visit (an hour at most) this location it will be worth your time and very beneficial for the long run and very well give you a refresh of how no matter where you work, how thankful one should be for having a job but how to provide genuine customer service without any extra effort especially if drive thru is a daily task. Need say more? Much appreciated 4 Always being prompt without missing a beat (or should I say an item) !!!!!
OMG!! My meal was made to perfection. So well that I'm even thinking about moving to the area. It was almost as if Angels prepared my food. Lol
Only Mobil order and pick up at drive-thru. It's fast food, set your expectations appropriately. Service is always excellent, friendly, and cheerful. Rarely get the order wrong.
No other fast food company sells any item like Jack in the Box does their tacos. They don't even advertise them either. They're far from authentic, but who cares? They're delicious! Only downside, this location can be tight on parking.
Shoutout to the workers that was on shift tonight. They had it ready like the boys dropping in on warzone 🤘🏽

Only had it once but was absolutely great. Burger was great and curly fries were nicely seasoned. Order cane out fast too. Only thing I can fault them on is not having a bike rack outside.

I was about 13 years old when I witnessed Jack getting blown up early 70's I cried, traumatized, It was the family tradition for Dad to come home with a bag of hamburgers for all of us sometimes we got to go with Dad and we got to talk to Jack waiting for us , those were the good times then on TV we witnessed his attempted assassination KABOOM I cried. Only to find out he survived and went undercover for Many years, I was sssoooo happy to see Jack again.
This burger stand is great. It is extremely convenient and quick. The employees here and always kind to customers and serve great food. One of my favorite burger places in the area. Super close to the Westside Pavilion mall and Cheviot Hills Park.
Food was excellent, and the employees are thorough. It could have been a little faster but overall I would say this is a place to get mouthwatering munchies, or a meal!!
We were there late night and the food was fast and hot. The drive thru was a long line but they blew thru it in no time. The cashier and staff were friendly and made the brief encounter charming.
Had the 2 for a buck taco's and the chili cheese fries. Wanted sometime quick and satisfying-which they were....then I went to the restroom.....no. I was surprised at how messy the bathroom was, out of some supplies and paper everywhere on the floor. FYI the chili cheese fries taste better with the taco sauce on them.
Gave 4 stars only because it took much longer than usual, and my nuggets were NOT hot. Normally 5 stars. I'm 5 stars next time.
Late post: this brach seem to be perfect for minding your own business, eating dirty, then getting satisfaction. No frills, no drama, and locals didn't seem judgemental so... euphoria. Good place to be unseen. Not the cleanest, award winning branch; but the kind you're happy to gorge in.

Is your average Jack in the box. Conveniently located in downtown San Mateo and open 24 hours a day. This spot is perfect for late night munchies or any on-the-go meal. I personally love the egg rolls 😋.
Great variety of food options when you're looking for a quick bite and very nice staff. They even serve some breakfast items all day, which is pretty awesome. The spicy chicken sandwich and sourdough chicken club were delicious and were hot and fresh. The chicken pita was a surprise in terms of quality and taste as well. Prices were higher than other fast food options but not completely over the top.
They didn't give me any napkins. Maybe they forgot or maybe saving money which can't be much. The double smash burger was good along with the fries. The poweraide didn't taste very good so I ended up throwing that away.
Like that they have added condiments to each table . Makes it easier so we don't have to go back and ask for extra seasonings to our meals. The bathrooms still could use some work ...but ehh, what you expect when they still have a homeless problem ...but it's not as bad as before !
The food is ok, just like any other fast food place. The service is a hit or miss though. Be careful for the bathrooms. I went to use one and the door was locked somehow from the outside?! And took like 30 minutes to open.
Sync my breakfast Burger was lubricated with the grease trap. Found a hair in my curly fries. But they gave me free buttermilk ranch dip so it was a pretty average experience. 3 out of 5 stars

I gave 3 stars this time because i ordered 4 tacos 2 with extra sauce they put extra on all so my husband couldn't eat his. I mainly went for a chocolate shake because nobody can make a chocolate shake like Jack in the box, the consistency it's always the same thick and Rich and yummy!!!😋
Not as tasty as it used to be. I've had problems w/order accuracy, and I highly discourage getting fountain drinks here; they all taste the same-Ewww! Dirty dispenser heads... Also, food is sometimes cold & "less than fresh" tasting. Oh well. 👍✨
Service is questionable, so the drive thru will not always be recommended. Menu has some good stuff for fast food. Make sure you explain your order carefully, or else the service will spill their beans and let the patriots out of the box.
My son wanted Jack in the Box mini tacos. Why? Dunno. He just felt like some. And come to think about it, I can use me a Sourdough Jack. And my wife's like, get me some Jalapeno poppers. And my son comes back with, order me an Oreo Cookie Shake. So there you go - that's why we stopped by a Jack in the Box.
Dining room and kitchen needs upgrade. Looks and operations are outdated. Its unsanitary to leave sauce packs out at each table and you got PEOPLE from all walks of life digging unwashed hands into the sauce packs. Gross! Better to ask for sauce packs from behind the counter.
25mins for fast food is insane. I'll make sure to cook at home next time. I got in line at half past midnight expecting it to be a faster. Severely understaffed. Needs better management.
I have mixed feelings about this location. Depending on what ever day you choose to go, the result is ALWAYS different. I find that it isn't consistent here and I wonder why. Today I ordered my food while in the drive thru online. Two cars away from the speaker. I probably waited for a total of 6 to 8 minutes for my food. When I got my food, it was soooo cold. I'm not sure if I should online order for pick up through drive thru again or just order so that it can come freshly made or hot, "supposedly". I feel like I won't come back here again, today's cold food especially because it's been raining, left me feeling remorseful of my decision to go there today. 🤦🏾♀️
Tried the chocolate shake here and it was just way too sweet. Also the person didn't inform me that there is no whipping cream when I was placing order. They just informed me while handing over the shake, which is not good standards of customer service.
The meat was hard and dry as hell as if the meat had been sitting all day I didn’t notice until I got back to work but the cashier had wonderful customer service
Terrible, drive thrubwas over and hour long wait just to order. Then was asked to pull around front and my food would be brought to me. 30 minutes later here comes my order but it was incomplete. So the cycle starts all.ovwr again but this time with cold as hell seasoned curly fry! 🫤

I was just at the driveway today 3/17/23 @ around 3:40pm. I ordered 4 tacos with extra cheese. I got charged but none of my tacos has extra cheese and 3 of them is not crunchy anymore. I been calling the store atleast 4 times (just ringing) to let them know for next time. But no answers. Also, I notice I haven’t been receiving receipts. Is this the new practice now like “save the tree” or something???
Service was quick but I got the saddest sourdough jack I’ve ever had.
I worked at Jack's in the box 32 years ago, and I remembered cooked to order, so disappointed that they couldn't even get the sauce right. The receipt had it correct, the jalapeño poppers and egg roll felt as if they had been sitting there for hours.
The drive through is too slow, took us 20 minutes on 1 milkshake and 1 chicken pop corn. Is it even worth it??
The bathrooms are an absolute disgrace. The toilet paper in the ladies' was not only off the dispenser, but covered in blood. There were no paper towels and no soap. The floor was sticky. According to my friend, the men's was about the same. If you're thinking "but I drive through", remember: the person making your food uses them. Will not be back.
First of all it took way too long to call my order until i asked them because they forgot it. Second, when i told them what happened to my order, they start preparing my order immediately that the whole chicken was not cooked well, it was so hard to chew.
Y’all need to shut this place down. I use to eat here a lot growing up but in the last 5 years. I keep getting sick from eating your guys food. Like tonight, I just threw up the whole entire meal. This is the 8th for over the past 5 years. Are you guys using old oil because it for sure taste like it.
Bad service. Asked price for hot sauce and got Ranch twice. Also bathrooms were filthy smells like urine Karma napkins was given with our order.

The customer service was gross! They’re rude and they give you trashy food that’s days old. They gave me stale 5 day old tacos.
Absolutely horrible. They're understaffed, the lady at the register didn't give me my reciept so i didn't know my order. She gave me two large drinks instead of one and said i had ordered it but didn't AFTER i had payed, so i gave it someone else. The patty was horrible it tasted like it was burnt, the burger was flat like a pancake. The person at the register seems like she barley spoke english as well. Not worth the money and overcharged. Without a doubt the last time I go back there. It was that bad.
As soon as 12am hits, their system apparently has to "reboot." Never fails. You come back around 1am, same thing, 2am? Oh man, still rebooting, 3am and 4am is all the same. If you are not open say so. Honestly I think the employees just don't want to deal with cash or card transactions. I get it, it's late, you're tired, but YOU chose to work Grave shift. Don't give us lies that you don't want to work, or maybe just actually fix it. A working system doesn't really need that many reboots that take over 20 minutes.
Unbelievable, worst J&b i been to. Just went through the drive thru. What they served me, I wouldn't feed it to my dog. Old cold dried up frys , the chicken or what was left of it in my home style sandwich seemed like it was triple fried until it was dried up like a crouton, seemed like was fried yesterday. The only thing edible was the jalapeños popers. These people working should be ashamed of themselves. Very sad.
the drive thru filipino female crew at midnight is rude! never again at this branch will i order! my tip for you is when a customer is asking a question, don't be condescending. lost my appetite. i never got my order. they also can't give me a refund so they say. i want a refund! UPDATE!! i was emailed by a manager who said he will send me coupons. i said i will use it with a different branch since i don't trust that one single employee. but guess what, i never received the coupons. update: I just received the two complimentary coupons today through the mail after a month of waiting.
This is the worst Jack in Box I've ever been to. I used to think this Jack in the Box was OK but then it started going downhill So I stopped going well tonight the place I wanted to order from was closed so I decided to give this Another try. If it's even possible it's gotten worse. The food quality was horrible everything was cold, my daughter's Burger looked like a piece of skinny cardboard It was disgusting and they got the order wrong to top it off. Jacj in the Box is high in price and their food quality is pathetic. I will never order from here again... they need to be ashamed to even serve this low quality garbage!!
Too many mistakes made from ordering the food through Uber eats. It’s almost as if it was intentionally done. I didn’t know how to report this unsatisfactory service.. pretty much everything was wrong. Like how the order got delayed, missing items, wrong items, food was not prepared correctly, over priced.
Apparently this is the only Jack-in-the-Box I've ever been to that advertises that it is 24 hours, but actually isn't. I went there this morning at 4:30 to get some early morning breakfast/Coffee, the lights were on inside and it was obvious that there was an employee inside due to the parking cars outside. However the doors were locked and the drive-through was blocked by wooden pallets. Pretty sure the worker(s) was inside asleep or something. Or maybe I'm just a little disgruntled because I went out of the way to get that wonderful iced mocha.
I went there this morning 28th of October and the manager and cook were vaping in The dinning area… only reason why I’m complaining is because they were more focused on Vaping rather than serving me and told me “They were closed”

Worst customer service. They closed the dining area 5 hours early cause they were short staffed. Or so they claim. No notice was placed to alert anyone without a car. The manager said use the drive thru. They have a sign that the drive thru is for motor vehicles only, no peds or bicyclists. The manager said they were busy with the drive thru. That was a lie. I left passing by the drive thru, no one was there for about 5 minutes. The manager needs to be removed, her method of running this location is horrible. No real leadership and bad customer service. I'm never returning to this location.
Didn’t even get served. Left because no one would answer a question about the ever changing Covid policy. Just needed to know if I waited outside for the capacity to get lower or if the dining room was closed. Seems simple. But it was not.

we arrived at 10.20 pm , we ordered our food and sat down to wait for it , at 10.40 we started to have dinner and a lady started to clean we had two families , us latinos and the other americans and the worker told us that we could not have dinner there because already It was closed , I told her that I was not going to leave until I finished dinner , she just annoyed and said they had to be Mexicans , she never addressed the other family . this was thursday night, we feel discriminated against
I picked up food for somebody else there's a reason why Jack in the box is closing stores, the competition of far better food that's out there is the reason why Jack in the box is no longer existing. It literally just tastes like salt and is disgusting. I'm sure the pay for the employees isn't much better, sometimes some businesses just need to be forgotten. Cheers but whatever you do don't eat your own food it's disgusting and an offense to the human body.
I placed on order through Doordash for pick up around 8:20pm, I headed out for my pick up. As I arrived the cashier greeted me and told me to wait as my order wasn’t ready. 15 minutes passed and nothing. I was told my order was being prepared. After 30 more minutes I walked over to the counter to ask if it was ready. He looks at me and tells me someone already picked it up. Imagen my surprise, to know I’d been waiting for nothing. I asked if he would remake it as I had already payed. He said he would ask… Manager finally came over and argued with him in front of me, about him handing off the order (my order) to someone else, and left me waiting there for another 10 minutes. I told them it was ok, I wasn’t in a rush and just wanted my food. They began making it and I was just happy to be on my way with my food. But, when I get home I find the whole order is wrong… least to say I’m not happy about it. Please please I know it can be stressful to work industry but please double check orders before handing them off!

They refused to take my order at 1 am in the drive through they said no bikes aloud.. I’m on a electric unicycle that travels 60+ mph.. not a bike I’m also on my late night lunch and now I can’t eat during my lunch.. In & Out, McDonald’s, Burger King have taken my order in the drive through.. I was surprised.. it was going to be my first time trying back in the box too.. won’t be coming back ever to Jack in the box. Some employee came outside aggressive and said “ we won’t take your order” treated me like I’m some kind of hooligan… im a 28 year old man just trying to eat something during my lunch… horrible interaction :(
June 25 Worst experience ever. Order a bunch of tacos and got a bunch of shells filled with lettuce and suace. Manager should be fired for allowing that kind of service along with the rest of the staff. Or just shut this place down. That's no way to run a business. As.i see from the review I'm not the only one that's had bad service here. How are they still in business.
Everytime I go here they get my order wrong and it's not just me other people I've talked to have had the same experience. Someone even had to pay twice cuz the workers didnt believe her that she paid for the tacos cuz it didnt appear in their machine even tho the math added up right. Went back weeks later at 10pm. Ordered my food and when I went to the drive thru window the guy had asked me to double check my order and all seemed good. Went up to the window and the next guy had said a completely different order and it seemed like they had lost my order. So they told me to park in front while they get my things in order. When I got my order they still got somethings wrong and the guy came back and said sorry one of the workers messed up ur order. In the end they still messed up my burger order. So there hasn't been any improvements from last time I was here. I'm dropping my rating to 1 stars it seems. May 13,dropped by and once again got my order Wrong :(. UPDATE MARCH 23,2025 This time my sister ordered from this place, against my warnings about the terrible service at this establishment. She got a chicken teriyaki bowl and received a chicken bowl, no teriyaki sauce, and the rice was so dry and bland. She told me she won't order again. I wished she followed my advice at not ordering from here. I wish I could rate this place lower than 1 star because they keep finding ways to exceed my expectations of how terrible they make the food.
People at fast food places are usually exhausted and busy, but usually, they at least give you information like 'I'll be with you in a moment' something like that. Now, these people they barely looked at me. I was there for 10 minutes right in front of their cashier station, and none of them talked with me. The only time there was eye contact was from a lady with a very no friendly face, even so I waited but no one came so I decided to leave because it was clear they wouldn't take my order. Not the first time I was mistreated there. This is why I've decided to leave a review today. Very, very unfriendly and rude staff.
This Jack in the box is 24 hours but the people inside don't want to work so they say their systems down in their closed. Whoever manages or owns this place needs to really pay attention to their workers and do something about it cuz this is some real crap service.
Worst drive through ever. They never can take ur order right . They some how they always take ur order wrong can't see what you ordered on a screen , always in a hurry to get ppl through the drive as quick as possible. I ordered an extreme sausage combo sandwich. The sandwich appeared to be reheat. The sausages razor thin not plump The hashbrown was lukewarm. Now is 2 hours later. I am having my second diarrhea. So you tell me how many stars.
They will take your order fast but then tell you to wait in the parking lot for them to actually make the order. Waited for 45 min. Uber eats and other customers said they waited longer. If it wasn't the closest place open at midnight we would not have went there
Came thru on 12/12 at 1:00am and the male drive thru worker picked his nose. In his defense, I don’t think he knew I had pulled up to the window yet. I could tell he was off guard because of the look in his eyes…baffling.
Ordered food, got the wrong food. Drove back 20 min later and they brought me the original food I had ordered. Food was.obviously cold by then and to make things worse, the whole order wasn't even there. Tried to call for over an hour. 10 guys working there and no one has the professional courtesy to answer their phone of business. Trash service, trash food, never going back.
Honestly, i would like to give nothing. Today i was trying to explained the staff about people that is cutting the line on the drive thru, and is not the first time that i report this type of issues, the Asian guy was telling me that is one by one but is not make sense when is three cars waiting and then one car come from the other driveway and cut the line. Then the lady that supposedly is a supervisor started saying arrogantly that we were just buying 2 tacos and one cheesecake, she gave it to us a really bad service, she is a short White lady and the day and time that this happened was 6/26/2023 around 9:50pm. In case the real manager would like to do something about it. Those people really need training. Also if something happens in the drive thru it will be jack in the box responsibility because no one does anything about the line in the drive thru. I just mentioned it because this is the second time that this happens and one time one person was carrying it a gun.
After coming here for some time and no longer having the option for smaller sizes really makes this place unappealing, rather drive to San carlos now

Got my entire order wrong. I paid 23 bucks for a protein bowl, crispy chicken strips, curly fries, and a sprite. Somehow I get a burger with normal fries, COLD, after I mentioned my order multiple times. It was like the guys had no idea what the hell they were doing.

Dear residents of San Moteo and everyone who reads this, do not under any circumstances order food from this restaurant, it’s terrible, it’s not just service, it’s a slap in the face of every customer, I’m not talking about the time that They cook, I just wrote it off as one incident and went there again, they lied about the items twice, saying that everything was inside, the second time I checked, asked for sauces, they said that everything was inside, but in fact, there weren't any, then again They convinced me that I was wrong, the service was very bad, plus the food was all cold, I wouldn’t even wish my ill-wishers to come here, a young guy who introduced himself as the manager of this restaurant He is a Latin American with a slender build and many questions are asked about why he even works in the service department. Because to say he hates his customers is putting it mildly. I live in Santa Clarita and go to San Moteo on business trips to compare service there and here. It's like the abyss and the Mariana Trench.
At 2:04 AM, I ordered two tacos, but I was charged for a regular taco instead. I did not receive the two tacos I ordered, yet I was still charged a higher price. When I went back immediately to request a refund or correction, they refused to refund the overcharge and also did not provide the missing tacos. This was a very confusing and frustrating experience. Basic order accuracy and customer service were completely lacking. This situation should have been handled properly.

Horrible service, I went there two times today, don’t know why I went back the 2nd time blame me but how every time they forget something, no ketchup on 2 burgers and I went back and they didn’t add cheese to my jumbo jack that I paid for. Asked for diet coke. The office manager who took the order gave me regular coke. I asked for ranch sauce. She said it's in the bag but when I came home there was no ranch. She doesn't seem to listen at all.
It’s always something with this location. Tonight they’re closed because they don’t have hot water and the drive through has cones covered in tar. I wouldn’t be surprised if some people missed them. Last time they made us wait for our orders in the parking lot for whatever reason. And all the times before this they always take forever to process the orders. One time they even forgot one of our burgers even though we’d already been charged for it. Avoid if possible tbh.
Look I know it’s just a fast food restaurant so I’m not expecting the moon but the service was terrible. The young lady at taking our order had the enthusiasm of a death row inmate. She didn’t confirm our order or even ask what size we wanted she just put it in. The we get our food and the “large” curly fry is not only half empty when I get home I realize they put regular fries at the bottom because they didn’t have enough. Instead of making more they just gave us a half empty box with regular fries at the bottom. I’m not surprised the line was empty with this type of service. And the “bacon strips” on the sandwich were a joke. Safe to say I will never go back. I’m surprised we even got the items we ordered.
I ordered the grilled chicken salad and was very disappointed. The chicken was not sliced so it was interesting having to eat it whole in a salad. The lettuce was mainly "white" ice berg lettuce. If fast food restaurants are offering salad meals, then it should be made right considering what they are charging. Go to Chick-fil-a, they offer great green salads and food in general, not to mention better customer service.
