Opinions de Sweetgreen San Mateo
This place has made eating healthy easy. I really enjoy the options they offer. I love the Chicken pesto parm and the sweet potatoes with hot honey mustard sauce. It's full of flavor . I recommend trying this restaurant.
I’ve been a regular at Sweetgreen for a while now, and I can’t recommend their salads enough. Every time I go, I get a custom salad with Greek Goddess Ranch, chicken, and salmon, and it never disappoints. The ingredients are always incredibly fresh, and you can really taste the difference. The greens are crisp, the chicken is perfectly cooked, and the salmon is tender and flavorful. The Greek Goddess Ranch dressing is the perfect complement, adding just the right amount of zest without overwhelming the natural flavors of the salad. What I love most about Sweetgreen is their commitment to quality. They source their produce locally, which makes a huge difference in taste. Plus, the portion sizes are generous, so you definitely get your money’s worth. The staff is always friendly and efficient, making the whole experience even better. Whether I’m grabbing a quick lunch or sitting down for a relaxed meal, the atmosphere is always welcoming and clean. If you’re looking for a place that serves up fresh, delicious, and healthy salads, Sweetgreen is the spot. Their custom salads, especially with the Greek Goddess Ranch, chicken, and salmon, are a must-try!
Sweetgreen makes it so easy, affordable and purposeful to eat healthy! The ingredients are always fresh and they are locally sourced, which I am a fan! There are numerous salads options under $15 but you can create your own as well (I get my protein from grains and plants so my bowls are usually $11)! This particularly location has the most beautiful sunlight and fits large groups! It’s also easy to park on the street, or there is a paid parking lot at the back for busy days.
My favorite healthy place to eat in San Mateo, the salad was amazing and the staff was great with me. Good options/variety and nice atmosphere. Recommend it!
I didn't like the salad I got, but Jacob was nice enough to make me a new one! Very grateful for him.
Amazing salads with so many possible combinations. Very fast service, even if ordering for pickup. Really filling and delicious toppings.
The staff is nice, getting a salad is fast Love the Kale Ceasar, Elote salad (seasonal), Guacamole greens are my favorite salads there

We order here very regularly. It’s best to order from the app and pick up. Although it feels like they give you more when you order in store as opposed to picking up the salad. We always love the salads, it’s always fresh and the staff is always nice.
I like the place's interior design - a combination of minimalist and elegant style. They have some interesting options for you to choose, including my favorite miso and Thai sauce. The price should be reasonable if all ingredients in a salad bowl is organic, which they did not mention.

Great spot for a quick bite and a nice outdoor view. Service was prompt, food/salad was delicious, pricing reasonable and atmosphere was great. WATCH YOUR STEP PLEASE!! The side door that is most convenient to use going both in and out has a small, but not so small, step. I did a dance coming out, watched another patron do the same and finally a third unfortunately take a tumble. Maybe it was just us, but a sign on the door might be helpful! 😊
Second time this SG has charged me $26 for a salad that is missing multiple premium toppings. Edit: their support team reached out and offered an additional credit to cover the cost of the missing items. Overall, they were respectful and understanding.
This is one of my go-to lunch spots. The service is friendly and quick, even when they have a line. 9 times out of 10 my food is very tasty but every once in a while the dressing isn't as flavorful as usual, therefore, 4 stars.
Would’ve given the service a 5 if I’d have reviewed the other night as that young lady’s customer service was outstanding!!! Tonight however, we couldn’t even get a smile but the most miserable server I’ve had in here. That being said, the food is ace & I’ll keep coming back to hopefully see the lady from a few nights ago!!!!

Tried to use my app to order at sweetgreen but couldn't get to make it work. I understand the app automatically prevents incoming orders because of freshness policies. Somthing i wish their app would say or have a work around somehow, otherwise it doesnt make sense using the app again. I was fortunate enough to get in the store when the line was short. Making an order though based on the menu behind the counter was a bit confusing. Might be nice if they had a sequence of ordering. Anyway, still worked out ok. Place was really chic but sound proofing was zero. So difficult to have a conversation in there. Best to order take out.
I've heard from vegetarian that this is good food so after a long biking/onewheel session with my friend who is somewhat picky about food I decided to take him here. I'm actually quite surprised that there is actually meat (such as salmon and chicken) in the menu. I however decided to go all vegetarian on this particular meal by ordering the Harvest Bowl because I want to see whether it's actually good. Honestly it's alright but not good enough to say it's good food. It's edible and possibly healthy as an occasional thing if you mostly eat meat. The Harvest Bowl has so much kale which makes it hard to digest but oh well. The wild rice and the almonds are helpful to make the food taste less than a salad but because of the kale it still tastes like a hard to chew salad. Overall, not my thing and it's probably popular among certain demographics who are over represented in the Bay Area. It's however a good place to eat if you do have to eat with people who are picky about food (not in taste but just what they can eat). I do like the place however as it not only is welcoming but also it has plugs under almost all the seating so I'm super happy that I can charge my onewheel while I'm eating.
On a bed of mostly spinach they mix in your protein , carbs, and sauces as you move down the assembly line, then pay and go to your table. Service is reasonably quick. I just wish there was more choice/selection.

I ordered the super green goddess salad with roasted chicken and bread for delivery. They delivered my order within the estimated timeframe. The salad was pretty good but a little pricey. They forgot to add bread to my order so I was sad about that. I think they should have a second person check orders before they go out for delivery.
This my favorite sweet green always fresh and clean. I’m disappointed in the man. They always give smallest portions. I literally can count the spinach they gave me. As a vegan portion matters. It’s not even about being stingy at least give the proper portion.pray you get a girl they do regular portions

I ordered a couple of salads for delivery through sweetgreen's app and for some reason both arrived with NO lettuce (no romaine nor spinach that I ordered) .I don't really understand how this could happen unless the restaurant ran out of all lettuce, but they never contacted me and I find it hard to believe a salad company ran out of lettuce. So I was left with two measly, half filled bowls (see picture). This location has some quality control issues for sure it seems. I like sweetgreen but I would not recommend this location.

I ordered online for pickup, two salads. First; The app does not tell you how long it will take until after you place order, but they do tell you that your cannot cancel your order after it is placed. So, it can't take all that long on a Sunday night at approx 6:45, right? Well, the app gave me a pickup time of approx 75 minutes. I did try and call. But this place cannot be contacted. A VRU comes on with instructions/information, and will transfer you to tech support for help with the app, but no local store contact available. So, I decide to head down figuring the app really does not have real-time info on store activity. I get there about 20-25 minutes before, and my order was not ready. But I notice the store is not really busy, it has a steady flow of 2 to 3 customers but that's it. Meaning that online orders are not inserted in line (such as at Starbucks) but being handled separately when not servicing a walk-in. I also notice no one is much happy working here on a Sunday night (I think there were three at most working, though a fourth would show up - maybe it was rotating break, but in any case it was not like there was a walk-in rush). My order did show, though they have no call out or notification (it will show up on phone awhile later) I missed it for a couple minutes. Second; When I got home and open our salads I had two thoughts: how cheap, and how disgusting. There is hardly much if you ordered a protein such as chicken. It is chucked full of lettuce (cheap), any about a 1/4 cup of chicken if that. And the avocado (see pictures), no doubt the most expensive part of both salads, were disgusting. And it is not like the avocado was rotten inside, it was readily apparent, meaning the employee had no problems serving us garbage. I had already registered a complaint online about having to place a non-cancellable order before I knew the pickup time and figured when responded to I would show them pics of the salad too. But several days have gone with no response to my complaint so obviously the ownership cares about as much as the employee who put rotten avocado in our salads.

I got a bowl with a bunch of stuff including salmon and rice. They gave me the smallest little piece of salmon I’ve ever seen, like half a filet, and when I asked for more they charged me extra for it. It was also so overcooked that it tasted dryer than the Sahara desert. My jaw was sore from trying to chew it. The rice was so stale I almost chipped a tooth on it. Cost me $27 and it was barely edible. I was a regular customer but after this experience I might not go back again.
