California Gold has an urban San Francisco vibe unmatched in Marin. They focus on high quality, creative cocktails with fresh, homemade ingredients and great service. We tried their Pina Colada and Moscow mule and found them to be the best we had ever tasted. The service was great and our bartender Joel couldn't have been more attentive or helpful.

Bartender's choice for the drinks! Very unique ambiance and aesthetic. Owner thrift shops for many of the wonderful decorations. Must see and better taste! Drew is an outstanding, experienced, well curated bartender. Thank you Drew!

Christian the bartender took the time to remember my name and drink order with a fully seated bar; I had fast & exceptional service. Great place for an after work cocktail or an evening out with a partner or friends. Highly recommend the "El Diablo" for a balanced medley with a a tiny flare of spice to excite the palate.

Very nice cocktail bar located in San Rafael. They don’t serve food here but they allow you to bring outside food. Very festive bar with great bartenders that help you figure out what drink you’re looking for. They have booths, tables, and couch seating. I opted for the seasonal hot toddy, my friends got an espresso martini and the bartenders choice/whiskey. Parking is fairly easy as there is street parking but can get busy. It was pretty busy for a Thursday night when we came by. They also have good drafts too. Would recommend if you’re looking for a nice drink while in San Rafael. The workers were super friendly and recommended other bars in the area too.

Three of our drinks were amazing and the other two very good. Impressive beer list although we stuck to cocktails. The bartenders were fast and friendly and obviously highly skilled. The ambience can’t be beat with a classic California aesthetic and fun music played at a reasonable level. Loved the place and can hardly wait to make it back.

Awesome bar in downtown San Rafael. We’ve been coming here since they just opened and we always felt amazed by all their drinks! Wonderful choices of cocktail, incredible list of beers on tab and their hot drinks are super tasty, too! The vibe and decor are very nice also. The staff is very friendly.

We came for golden hour which was $9 cocktails and $1 off some beers. Service was great! Friendly and attentive staff was just what we were looking for. The decor is great, the bar stands out more than the photos do justice. The booths are nice too, have that old school vibe. Good place for date night as you can have some privacy in the booth and it's not noisy. The food is from across the street at Revel and Roost. Hope to make this our regular place!

Had a sazsrack, which I can say was expertly made with care and detail. The drink menu is exceptional though a bit eclectic, which I love. *Update* came back after a couple years and the place is as good as ever. I ordered a La Paloma and a pisco punch. Both were superbly made absolutely delicious. My only issue was that it was so busy at the time I entered, there was only one bartender serving a slew of people and it took a really long time to get to me. The problems of a really good place.

The mahogany bar is breathtaking and has been there since 1906. Drinks are expensive and top shelf. Nice mix of little nooks to have a clear conversation, tables for groups and bar seating. 🍸

Manuel is literally the best bartender we’ve ever had. He made us amazing drinks with flair and gave us testers of other drinks. Highly recommend this bar. The vibe is eclectic Californian, reminded me a little of a Victorian California mansion, with all sorts of fun old California art all over. The menu was exceptional with delicious drinks. The drinks are a work of art, with preparation done with high attention to detail. The bar had several top shelf bourbons, which made it all the more better.

The bartenders were friendly and engaging, the music was interesting and fun, and sparked conversation between a few of us strangers at the bar. I love the atmosphere and decor; I think I'll be making more regular stops for sure!

Was quite surprised to walk in the last weekend of June to find there is a monthly tiki takeover with quite a wide expanse of options! Overall, they were decent, and service was pretty fast for how crowded it was on a Friday night. Atmosphere is loud and bustling, but has more of a local dive feel. 4 stars.

The picture shows what a red wine and oj looks like and what I was told the management would not allow the bartender to make. I was visiting the area and this bar looked really cool so I went in and ordered a red wine mixed with orange juice and was told no. I was confused so I said that any juice would do and I was happy to pay for two separate beverages if that was the problem but the bartender told me that they were not allowed to do that per management. I went down the way to another spot happy to serve me but I have been so curious why the bartender would refuse to make that drink. it was 5 PM and there were three people in the entire bar and I’m a very friendly person so just wondering why not. I don’t drink hard spirits but enjoy a fruity drink. My friends think it’s a wine snob thing but I’d love to hear from management if or why that would be their policy. Thanks and happy day
