Best burrito in town. How you like it is how they make it. Been going here since they opened and never been disappointed.
The best burritos in the bay area!! The staff is always friendly and my kids love this place!
Best burrito in town...seriously though. Get the super burrito. They melt the cheese in the tortilla steamer prior to burrito construction, so clutch.
Best burritos ever! Great food, family owned, 25+ years feeding my family...love them!💕
BY FAR the best burrito i have ever eaten in my life!!!!!!!!! This restaurant has food for all ages, family is nice, kids get a free ice cream with every meal, cheap, and never lets me down. I recommend going there
Our family LOVES Puentez! We’ve been eating here for 25 years. We love the family owned atmosphere, and the food is delicious. Sometimes you have to wait a bit but it’s worth it!!!
Best burritos in Marin, maybe even in the whole Bay Area. The ingredients really pop. If you've never tried a nopales (cactus) burrito you should try theirs.
This place is the best—my family has been eating here for years and I love everting they make! It’s delicious!
A San Rafael institution that has stood the test of time. Recommend the burritos. Instead of guacamole ask for freshly sliced avocado to add to the burrito. Great prices, great food, and great service. Aldo is the man!
I'm not from the Marin area, but I'll make sure to stop by every time I'm in San Rafael and need Mexican food! Prices are inexpensive, staff is as well-seasoned as their selection of meats, and the food will take you back to your abuelita's cooking. If you didn't grow up with an abuelita's cooking, here's your substitute. 10/10.
Best around. I used to live nearby, would get one after mountain biking almost 3 - 4 days a week! Now I live abroad and make sure it’s my first and last meal when I arrive.
Best burritos I've had in a while. I have been to different parts of California and this is the best I've found ❤. Thanks you PT!
Big yummy taco for 3 bucks! Love the shredded chicken and whole pinto beans! Their homemade green hot sauce is the bomb!
I love this place. Great corn cactus quesadilla. Many more options than chipotle it’s tasty and at a great price! They’re also really friendly ☺️
Nice family owned restaurant that is consistently good. Great burritos and Mexican soda. There are often long lines but its worth it.
I ate here several times a week for years when I lived in San Rafael and it was always delicious! My favorite chicken mole of anywhere! There is almost always easy parking available in the Montecito expansion parking lot on the east side of the center (don't bother competing with the Trader Joe's customers in the main lot) and the lunchtime line can be large but it moves quickly and the food is WELL worth it! You'll understand the popularity as soon as you bite into your meal. Best Mexican food in Marin.
This is my favorite spot in San Rafael for Tacos. My 2 children swear by the burritos. We've been going there since 1997. That's 26 years of delicious Mexican Food and locally family owned!!!
This is hands-down the best burrito I've ever had in my life and I have been all over Mexico, Spain, and Colombia. It's also a 100% local family owned business. They are currently open for pickup and dine-in. Try the Super Deluxe with Carnitas, Black Beans, and a Spinach tortilla. Support them! Thank you Aldo!!
I LOVE this place. I come here all the time, it’s the best burrito I’ve ever had. The only burrito that even comes close to being on par with Puentez is Gordos. Also at a decent price. Staff are very friendly, one of them gave me a Puentez shirt for free! I wear it with pride.
🇲🇽 I must leave ★★★★★ for my friends at Puentez Taqueria. Parking is difficult however there is overflow parking behind the Taqueria. The food is served quickly but expect lines around lunchtime. I captured this photo near the rear employee-entrance which has a great view of the San Rafael canal. Can't recommend this place enough!
Puentez is the absolute best. I may be slightly biased because I have been coming here since high-school just like so many others. Puentez always knocks it out of the park. The Hernandez family is always so kind and accommodating to every guest that walks through the door. Thank you Puentez team for the amazing service and delicious food!
So when I walked in, the line was all the way back to the door. The individuals behind the counter weren’t taking orders, they were CHECKING IN on their customers. They knew what people wanted and how to do it quick. I’ve never been here before so i asked the gentleman making burritos, to make me his burrito. He did just that and then told me i needed to come back and try the others. I’m currently so full i can’t move… i can’t wait to try the next burrito

I adore the old school style burritos here. Simple, straight forward and full of flavor. Their green hot sauce is perfection. Service is quick and efficient. The family clearly has their system down. The only downside is stopping in when the high school across the street gets out…then it’s mobbed!
A great little gem of place I wish I had discovered earlier. The burritos are super tasty n top notch! You'll pay a dollar or two more for a burrito, but it's worth it. The service is solid and they have a huge outdoor dining area. Closed on Sundays, but they are open late (9pm) Monday to Saturday. The fact they're open late and their food is tasty is a big win-win for me. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.
Great burrito place and I think it’s the best in marin. Staff are really friendly and food is made great only issue is they only have one person making burritos at a time so sometimes it takes awhile. Overall solid spot
The super deluxe burritos were absolutely fabulous. We have been meaning to try this restaurant for some time. We arrived to pick up our takeout and there was a line 15 people deep. Will be back very soon.
San Rafael may have the best Mexican food around, so there is a lot of competition. With that said, this may be my favorite spot. The burrito I had was phenomenal -- very fresh and well priced, good size! I know San Jose Taqueria gets a lot of praise around these parts (which is well deserved), but I prefer this place, personally.
Outstanding lunch! Great food, fast service and friendly employees. Best of all, it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg!
Great experience and food! Was going to grab Chipotle and saw a sign for this place and decided to check it out. Super authentic and a great atmosphere inside. Chatted with the cashier some and he was extremely friendly. Burrito was amazing and so were the chips and salsa. Looking forward to going back. Place has been around 30 years and that’s really impressive!
My partner and I came into the location today on a whim. We were pleasantly surprised. We loved our super burrito and horchata. Both were delicious and some of the best we have had in the area for sure. Will definitely be coming back to this location in the future!

Love this place. Great Family run business. Main stay for a long time. Best Mexican food in town. You can count on it !!!!!
You can tell they care about their regulars and providing consistent, friendly service. As others have pointed out, it is often hard to park and can get slow when there is a line, but it is always worth it and delicious in the end. Truly a staple of the neighborhood.
Good carne asada burrito. Casual but clean place. Pleasant people. Price is fair.
Cool little spot, easy to find "once you finally find parking". Line gets a little long during lunch hour which is a good sign. The place could use a bit of "dusting" or mild cleaning here and there. Lots of interesting photos and decorations that are welcoming. And the staff is nice and seems like a cool family owned business. But let's get to what's important, the food. The fully loaded burrito, is called the "super burrito" everywhere else. But here, it's the deluxe super burrito. They are a bit small in my opinion for the price but the ingredients are savory. Had the grilled chicken and tried the steak. Both great. And I like the fact that they have 4 different flavors of tortillas, so it's easy to customize the right burrito for you. But I was disappointed that they didn't have a salsa bar or at least a few kinds of salsas or spicier options. Pico de gallo was bland. But its Marin, can't expect too much authenticity. They claim to have the best burritos in town. But I beg to differ. I've yet to find my favorite Mexican taqueria around here.
I got the Carne Asada “Deluxe” burrito for $15. Burritos be getting pricey everywhere honestly but local joint beats a Chipotle, for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ overall taste, was very delicious and it was pretty big, it had a fair portion of meat but wish it had more. The flavors were balanced and savory but it lacked in spice for someone who really enjoys spicy (and it was extra spicy they said). For me it beats something like Chipotle in flavor and price. There’s a 10% discount if you are a local student in the area.
Good burritos but definitely overpriced. I got an average sized, “super” bean burrito w/guacamole for $10. Their reddish colored beans are good but just be prepared to spend about $15 if you eat meat and like sour cream or guacamole because they aren’t included on the super.

she got the mini with shrimp and cactus, I had one with grilled chicken. Yum. Fast.
Meh, the meat is all precooked and sittting in steam table. The dude fixing the orders was demaciado slow, especially considering he didn't have to cook anything. We probably won't go there again.
Partner really liked the burritos, but chicken got in the beans and veggies they had out... so not a place for vegetarians sadly.

Employees were really nice. The food was okay. Their chicken mole isn't traditional but it was okay. One thing is that you kinda have to eat fast because once the food gets cold it's hard to eat it. I got three tacos but once I reached the last one the tortilla was so hard to bite into. Other than that everything was good enough.
Really disappointing tacos - sloppy wet and just beans and salsa with the main ingredient. We tried the nopales (cactus), chile verde and pollo mole and all of them (especially the chili verde) were dripping so much liquid that it was hard to eat without making a huge mess. That could be forgiven if the rest of it made up for it, but overall, OK taste, good service, inadequate otherwise. The burritos I saw them making looked better - but def. skip the tacos.

Went here for the first time after walking by for years. I ordered something and everyone looked at me weird I didn't know why. Then I got my order. While I was there I kept seeing tiny burritos and wondering why. I don't think I will return in thought I was getting a really good deal then I received my order a tiny quesadilla and a tiny cup of gacamole I thought I was getting at least bean or something but no. I won't be going back there. It wasn't bad but I was expecting more and it would be have been helpful if someone said something
Staff was not wearing a mask or had their mask pulled down not covering their nose. The cashier pushed her mask down, scratched at her mouth then put the mask back just under her nose and continued handling packaging for customer’s to go orders and taking card payments. On 2 occasions in the past I’ve found hair in my food. Due to prior unsanitary practices I’d stopped buying lunch here. The food is okay and reasonably priced but not worth finding hair in it later or having your food handled by staff refusing to adhere to sanitary practices to protect their customers. I want to support this business but I’m done.
Overpriced basic burritos. Not the “best in town” as advertised. The employee (son of the owner) asked if we wanted him to wear a mask or not. Apparently they think COVID-19 is a game and don’t take it seriously. Go to Taqueria San Jose just down the street. Cheaper and more authentic.
This place is really bad. Ordered chicken burrito. Mostly old rice, few beans and VERY LITTLE BITS of chicken. The whole burrito, especially the chicken meat, had NO FLAVOR! This restaurant is turning out food that is the universal opposite of what genuine Mexican food is all about. I strongly do not recommend Puentez Taqueria.
I've been at this place twice, even though I had a bad experience with food being salty and so little meat the first time I thought well, everyone has a bad day every now and then and deserve another chance. The second time was just the same if not worse. The man which seemed to be either the owner or the manager was really rude, didn't even said hello back, no smile, and as I was ordering, for every little thing that I added which was basic things like sour cream or cilantro, he kept telling me "this is gonna be extra"... So finally my $5.95 burrito per menu price came to cost me $8.70. Even when I told him wow, what a increase, he replied," "well that's how it is, when you add items it will cost you"... Absolutely no people's skills or manners, as if I owed him to be there instead of making people feel welcomed and appreciated to chose this place when we all have so many other options to eat elsewhere. The chicken or the sauce in my burrito also was extremely salty. I ended up throwing it away half way. Horrible place and experience overall. Plz value your money.
The food is good, the service is awkward at best, the cleanliness is HIGHLY questionable. I went there for lunch today and when I tried to place my order the cashier ignored me, eventually the cook took my order. As I was eating I witnessed the cashier taking items out of the garbage can and replacing them on the counter for the public to use, I commented on her action and was, to my surprise, ignored by her. I could not finish my lunch after that, as I can now only wonder where the ingredients have been… I won’t go back.
This place is set up like Chipotle. Except, it's one person. And they're extremely slow. There were 4 people ahead of me and it took 30 minutes for me to get a burrito. A completely flavorless burrito. In fact, just go to Chipotle next door.
Actually disgusting. I took one bite of carne asada tacos, and immediately said “gross”. Meat was dry and flavorless. My boyfriend, who eats literally anything and everything, thought the tacos were terrible.
