Opinions de Ikoi Sushi San Rafael
Love this place! Their “special roll” is my favorite but everything I’ve ever had from Ikoi has been excellent. Also very small delivery fee via doordash and Uber eats. :-)
Excellent Japanese Restaurant in Marin! From awesome sushis to delicious noodle soups! I tried a lot of different combinations. Everything is good here! Staff is great!
Clean place, friendly staff. Tasty, reasonably priced sushi & noodles. Quick service, easy parking. Wish they were closer to my neighborhood!
One of the best sushi places in Marin. High quality ingredients and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for fantastic sushi
One of my favorite spots. I work out that way a couple times a year and always make a stop. Their rainbow roll is delectable.
This is a great small but big enough shushi place to eat. They are on door dash and have pick-up options. The sushi is fresh and delicious. My kids who are not sushi fans love the chicken katsu with white rice and salad. I would highly recommend it.
This is our favorite sushi place in Marin. We typically get it through Door Dash/Uber Eats but finally went to dine in for the first time. It's a small but comfortable spot in the Scotty's Market shopping center and most people there are Dashers or people doing takeout. They're VERY busy with takeout orders and it's quite an operation but we had some of the quickest service ever. Get a spam masubi or gyōza to start and definitely work in a spicy crunchy roll and a special roll. SO GOOD, super fresh. Just plain great.
I go frequently for their Teriyaki Chicken because the chef always does such a great job in preparing it. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The service is good, the prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious (and presented so artistically you almost to hate to disturb it!) 😊
The restaurant is out of the way and I didn't expect to find it where it is. It's a great Sushi restaurant. The room could use a redecorating but this is a family operated business and they seem to care about the food they put out. This was my first time and I loved it. My second time today and they are just amazing!
I am addicted to their sushi. SO GOOD! Plus their staff is awesome! The nice Asian waitress with glasses always remembers my name everytime, and that is above and beyond!
A good spot to get pickup or delivery. They're fast and friendly. The sushi and teriyaki plates are better than the ramen or poke salad.
Genuinely one of the best sushi places in Walnut Creek. The unagi is to die for.
Excellent food and service. Had several rolls and tempura, including vegetarian rolls, and all were excellent. Service was courteous and attentive. Restaurant is cute, nicely decorated. Recommend.
Ikoi Sushi is a very small, cozy and unassuming sushi restaurant nestled at the end corner amongst a small strip mall. While it doesn't have much capacity inside, it definitely adds to the charm of the overall experience. This was my first visit for a small takeout dinner on a Friday night. Ordering over the phone was very easy, the staff member was very polite and helpful explaining which vegetarian options/ingredients were available for one person's order. Plus, I could tell they were busy, which we truly appreciate. There wasn't a long period of wait time. The food was especially memorable, and refined to most by comparison in this area. Everything was perfectly delicious our first time around so we decided to come back to dine inside another time. The rice itself has good texture and flavor (on some of the nigiri), great quality, flavorful, balanced, with fresh ingredients. Every single bite was memorable and delicious!
Great owner really friendly and easy accessible parking and location. Food is amazing and delicious and plentiful. I had the bento box with salmon and avocado roll and California roll 10/10 recommend. Thank you to the owner as well for being an excellent client of Lexus!
Our local go-to take out sushi. We order here a few times a month usually and it is always super fresh, great flavor combinations and excellent service. Thank you for such a great sushi spot in our neighborhood!
Great sushi rolls, sashimi and Sabasshoyaki. We will be back for more.
The main food of the bento box was good for lunch, the exception was the salad which had a lot of brown bits on the lettuce.
The fish was super good, I loved the unagi-don and the takoyaki was perfectly savory. My order was ready to pick up in less than ten minutes.
Got the bento box with salmon and tempura roll. It was literally the best salmon I have ever had in my whole life. Very clean spot. Nice staff. ⭐️
Pretty good food and good price. Food portion is small tho.

I work near here, so I need a place that is quick and delicious! They definitely fit the bill! The freshness of the items is great! They also went above and beyond to make me a sushi roll that was what I was looking for! They were caring about the ceiling fans being too forceful for us during lunch and the music too loud for a deaf old lady (me) and turned them both down. My dining companion left my reusable metal straw when we left, and they saved it for me to swing back around and pick up!! Very nice people and completely delicious and super fresh offerings! GO HERE!!
This place is always solid. I'm not going to tell you that it's the best sushi ever, but for the money it's consistently delicious. I especially love the Ocean roll and the Sea roll. My wife and I really love the salmon teriyaki as well. The restaurant is small and quaint, the service is great. We are so happy to have a great local sushi place.
As one of the last affordable, quality sushi spots in Marin, Ikoi is our go-to spot for take-out sushi night. Their rolls are consistently mouthwatering and high-caliber. We almost always order 2x what we need so we can have some next-day leftovers for lunch. And they always hook us up with extra ginger and wasabi when asked!
Best takeout sushi in Central/Northern Marin and my wife and I have tried many. The sushi deluxe is delicious and very fresh. We order here almost weekly.
We love this place for take out. Super friendly, quick & quality food.

I first saw these guys online and I just had to try them out. I was eager to come since the reviews that I saw were all positive. When I got here the servers were really nice and greeted me at the doorstep. The food they served me was just amazing.
Tempura shrimp and vegetables were excellent. Lite crispy batter. The prices charged do not always match those printed on the menu.
A lovely hidden away place in a small shopping area. Fresh fish and lovely staff. Only drawback is that bathroom is a few doors down from the restaurant itself; a setback, especially on cold, rainy days.
I love their food but past few takeout orders have been missing rice that was ordered and $18 speciality rolls are compressed into a brick and wrapped with foil...horrible presentation.
The ramen is good and the spicy tuna was delicious too. However the sushi could have been sliced into more manageable bite size pieces.
Found this sushi restaurant while looking to try something new. Stopped in on a Monday early evening, one other table was seated. I wasn't sure if the empty restaurant was a sign. Within 15 minutes of being there, not an empty seat in the house! It was crazy watching people file in so quickly. I'd say we timed that just right, any later we would have been waiting for a table. The service was on point, she hustled to keep everyone's needs met, friendly and didn't make you feel rushed or waiting. A good variety of menu items. Pleasantly surprised with the quality too. I found their prices to be competitive, some on the low side, too! They have definitely gained new a new customer.
decent local spot, food is mostly consistent - prices are decent. It’s has improved over the years and is a favorite of the family for nights we don’t want to cook. Service is not what you come here for so be patient and not in a hurry. They are friendly but sometimes busy and there is just one person on the floor.
Small place, but fast service and good sushi, got the red lion and the golden gate, as well as miso and some Nigri. Current owners keeping it clean and busy
Ikon sushi is a great local place for grabbing a nice Japanese-style dinner. They have really fresh sushi rolls, and are able to make an order up for quick take away (which is usually how we order from here). One gripe is that we are not huge fans of how IKOI prepare their Chicken Karaage dish, something about the batter is not quite right for us - but otherwise their food is awesome. Definitely recommended if you’ve got a hankering for some sushi one night.
Good, not great and definitely not authentic in my book but it gets the job done. The chirashi wasn't bad... but not great, see what I'm saying?
Special rolls are great. Tempura was too doughy. Yakiudon was also great.
Good and tasty food but it wasn’t quite what we had ordered. We ordered noodles but didn’t get them (checked the receipt, we didn’t even pay for them). Also, we ordered salmon sushi but got tuna (paid but didn’t eat). All other sushi was correct and tasty. Will give them a try again.

Everything was good with clearly the potential to be great. Maybe the best thing was they were extremely busy, but unfortunately that affected our service and food. They had lots of to go orders happening. Food was very good except we didn't really enjoy the baked scallop salmon. The people are very nice and welcoming. The space is very small, but makes it quite quaint if you like that. I will definitely go back for another experience!

Good tasting sushi and just decent ramen. Good selection and nice staff. Prices are from what about you would expect to high. Will likely go back because of the convenience but not a must-try.
Not a huge Sushi fan so not the best to critique. Service was slow it's very small so it was very noisy inside. Food was okay and I would say they were expensive, but let's face it sushi is way over priced. It's like ordering a chicken breast, getting a breaded nugget, and being charged for the whole damn bird. I have had good experiences in other sushi restaurants. I'm sorry to say this was not one of them.
Sushi was really good. Only setback was how small they were for the price. Got the teriyaki meal and was surprised that it didn't even come with rice. Just the chicken (a bit salty)and a tiny salad side. For the price any other place would've at least had rice so it was sad to eat just chicken. I had picked up for take out and didn't see after I had left sadly. Wouldn't go again
I had the Spider roll and a Hamachi. Neither were good, and the spider was borderline not edible. This is my first time eating here so will give them the benefit of the doubt it was just a bad batch of fish or something, but disappointing
I was excited to try this spot but was disappointed. The sushi wasn't rolled very well and fell apart super easily. Normally hair in my food doesn't really bother me but after being let down by a couple of bites of my Spicy Tuna Roll, finding a hair in my roll just wasn't the most pleasant experience. The food was edible but I don't think I'd get it again.

Very disappointing. The waitress who seemed very nice suggested the one of the most expensive things on the menu, Beef Teriyaki, it was terrible. Fatty, gristley, no flavor, and no teriyaki sauce. I also ordered the Tempura. It might have been good if it was properly cooked, but there was raw batter between the shrimp and crispy coating. The rice wasn’t good either. They didn’t salt the water. No amount of Soy Sauce could improve it. The Miso soup was good and the salad too was ok. The sauces and salad dressing was good. But all in all, not worth the money. I will never eat there again. A waste of money. Very upsetting in these tough times.’ Parking is good because who what’s to eat there? Yuck!
The beef teriyaki was the worst that I have ever had. The beef was overcooked, fatty and tough. Not only was it expensive, but they charge $3 extra for a bowl of rice, miso soup and a very small salad which should be included in the meal. The waitress did not check on us once. Poor service, disappointing quality of food and expensive. Definitely not authentic Japanese and would not recommend wasting your money.
Door Dash service is very slow
The worst sushi we had in ages. Fish is taste weird, doesn’t look fresh, udon has extremely specific taste, no one in my family was able to eat it. Kids described the smell as “it smells like pet rat cage”. We threw out half of the order. Gyozas and California roll were ok. Sashimi - either not chewable, or extra fishy. Salmon was fresh “smoked”. Carrots on the side of sashimi - dry. And that was the only side for sashimi.
Cute little place. Totally mom and pop style, was in town for business so decided to try. They do not have a fresh Wassabi and server did not know what that was but that's okay.... Ordered bunch of sushi, sashimi and katsu because I love katsu... There were two servers, the first one was a skinny lady, and while she had no idea what fresh wasabi was but she was nice. The other server, not so much... After we were served, they really didn't check up on anything nor asks how their food was. Maybe they knew... After a while, the other server came and asked if we are ready for the check. I replied asking we haven't gotten all our food yet... (Katsu) And she said everything has been served... And i said no. We orderd katsu... And she said we dont serve katsu. So I said fine, give me the check. She brought check and we paid and as we were leaving, first server, nice one came up and said shes sorry dor forgetting katsu... Lol. So they do sell katsu.... On top of that. Their food quality is all over the place. Their tuna tartar was amazing!!! But their Tuna sashimi was so chewy, that i had a bite on the 1 of 3 pieces and could not eat the other 2 pieces... Not something you expect from sushi place with a la carte menu... Overall, it was very disappointing experience. I rarely give 1 star to anyone but this place gets one....
