Opinions de D'Angelo's Bakery Santa Barbara
I love D’Angelo Bread with my whole heart. They don’t make places like this anymore and it’s a grave mistake. It’s worth a stop for a coffee to go, a fresh loaf of bread to take home, or our preferred option - to sit outside and enjoy a delightful meal. I’d recommend their olive bread to any current or aspiring olive lovers out there. An excellent compliment to the bread is their artichoke spread, or just butter! Simple and delicious. Their tuna salad sandwich is light, salty, and perfectly acidic. All of their sandwiches come with a lovely, well dressed mixed greens salad. Every time we are in Santa Barbara, we will make a concerted effort to go D’Angelo’s. No frills, just friendly service and quality, clean, scrumptious food.
3rd time coming here to eat, love this place so much, wish I lived closer.
This place was such a find after arriving by train to SB. we were a group of 5 and they seated us quickly. Everything was delicious and they were very generous with coffee refills.
We ordered the Spicy omelet and steak and eggs. The food was flavorful and you get to choose which type of bread you want with your meal. All options of bread were delicious. The service was fast and the server was attentive. I would return to this restaurant.
Best in class bakery in Santa Barbara. Excellent baked goods and very solid coffee. Staff is extremely helpful. Always stop by when I’m in town.
The huevos rancheros were some of the best Ive tried! Definitely a must spot in Santa Barbara.
Absolutely fantastic local bakery and deli. Relaxed outdoor seating, no wait, easy parking, definitely where the locals go. Get the Fresh Mozzarella, Tomato & Roasted Peppers on Ciabatta!
Great food. Difficult parking. Fair prices. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow but I think it was a case of bad timing as it looked like one of the cooks took his break just as we were seated.
Great local bakery serving amazing bread and pastries, plus scatch-made entrees for breakfast and lunch in a comfortable cozy space. I ordered the roasted chicken and pasilla chile hash and was thoroughly impressed. The chicken was tender and well seasoned, while the red potatoes and pasilla chiles provided the perfect accompaniment to every bite.
Beautiful breads in this no-frills bakery also offering dine-in breakfast and lunch. Their famous "egg rose" with homemade artichoke spread on a thin slice of kalamata olive bread is worth trying. Service was a bit slow but the staff was very friendly.
My friend and I had brunch here on Sunday. My friend had Espresso and an Artichoke/Egg Toast. I had coffee & cream (free refills), and the Brioche French Toast. OMG, yum! After brunch, we bought some of their homemade bread and pastries to take home to our people. I gave them five stars because they deserve it for their excellent customer care. Case in point, I accidentally left my phone in the restrooms. When I went back it was by the register, intact. Made my day! The restaurant is located at 25 West Gutierrez Street in downtown Santa Barbara. There is street parking, basically first-come-first-serviced, and a public lot nearby on Motor and Parker off State Street. There are two restrooms. My French Toast was $20.00, so it's a bit more expensive than some places in SB for brunch.
I had a poppyseed twist and a cappuccino. Both were excellent. The twist was buttery, flaky, not too sweet and great poppyseed texture and taste. The cappuccino was delicious and a hot to drink. The beards and pastries looked and smelt wonderful.

My family stopped in for lunch and enjoyed very tasty sandwiches and friendly service. We're not local but I would definitely eat here again when we come to town. The pastries looked really good.
Highly recommend to discover this amazing coffee bakery breakfast place! The breads and pastries are delicious, and the coffee is full of flavor that can be share with well crafted breakfast dishes!
Best breakfast I’ve ever had. The bananas, Foster French toast and the Egg Rose are literally 100/10 good. We literally drive here from La County just for this breakfast! Can’t praise them enough!!! Don’t

OMGoodness! Absolutely wonderful Brkfst Coffee House & they bake the Freshest ever Bread too! Excellent, what taste like a French Roast Coffee Bean without the bitter bite! For an added delight; the Fresh pastry ...outta this world! You gotta try it for your taste buds to believe it! Trust you me, you wanna go there for a delightful way to start off your morning! 🌞 the prices are wonderful too!
Great affordable bread options! Everyone was super nice. The latte was super good as well! Great place for a get-together or even a place to read a short story.
Food is worth going there. Only problem is sitting outside is seeing the street traffic. Avocado toast was great, olive oil high quality, ingredients high quality. Coming from Europe I can say that normally olive oil used in US is below average and this place is using a good one. Pastries are also very good, all fresh flaky and like it is supposed to be. If I was living here, this would be the place for me to get bread and pastries.
While on a road trip we stayed at Sta Barbara for roughly a week im June 2024. With all the cafes, restos and pastry shops we visited this was the only bakery/cafe that served freshly baked pretzels. So it was a joy to takeout these warm pretzel variations for our stay and for the next day's continuation for our trip. Their coffee is also decent. The cafe is a counter order style with a couple of limited small tables for diners. Most people here are in for a quick meal of for takeaways.
Lovely coffee. Two shots and a warm cup. They were clear about that price, although still unclear about nondairy milk charge. Please stop charging and penalizing lactose intolerant people. If your plant based there’s steel cut oats or avocado toast. We shared the avocado toast that was cut into four pieces with one tomato in the center. The topping on top of the avocado was not much. We added salt and pepper. It was just OK. A little over $15 for this . It was on their bread, which was just OK. Though I would come back to try their Kalamata olive bread. They get their flour from Italy. Aidan or Adrian was our server. Thank you A

We visited here for brunch one day and were not overly impressed. The service was really slow, we had to wait a long time for our food which we wouldn't usually mind if the taste was worth it. The bread, which is advertised as all homemade, was so hard it was barely edible. We found the prices to be too high and the most expensive breakfast meal we had whilst in Santa Barbara. There are better places in the local area that offer a nicer setting when eating outside.

Extremely average. Very basic, average food and overpriced. Bread is fantastic but will not be returning for brunch ever.
