This food was so delicious and authentic! It tasted homemade. The tostones were crispy and rich. The flavor of the rice was simple but perfect. I had the mofongo with ground beed and melted queso on top. It was so savory and rich with amazing flavors! The staff was extremely friendly.
Great quality food Puerto Rican food, I love my mofongo con carne frita and being Puerto Rican in Texas this place feels like I’m back in la isla bella. La canoa is my second go to dish for its hearty flavorful taste. 5 estrellas 🤩
Fist time here and it was so good. The mofongo de plátanos maduro was the perfect sweetness with the ground beef. The carne frita was delicious. Also got a quesito and a pastelillo de guayaba straight out of the oven.
You must come try this place. A little piece of Puerto Rico in the heart of DFW!!! The food is flavorful, fresh, and filling. It’s a double whammy, you will not be disappointed and your taste buds will thank you!! Oh, and to complete the trifecta, the people running the place are class act.
This place is my FAVORITE spot to grab PR food 😋 Theyre always so nice & professional! Im so happy DJ Boricua Lamar Baker sent me 😍
The Cambio Mofongo was delicious. Highly recommend but bring an appetite as it was a lot of food.
My first time having mofongo. They did not disappoint! The portions are very generous and everything tasted good. The server was very friendly and helpful.
The food was AMAZING! The customer service was spectacular, being at this place feels like I’m back on the island again with music playing good vibes and food just like home ! Best in the City please leave reviews tell them DJ Boricua Sent you!🙏🏽🫶🏽
Great to find a Puerto Rican spot! Not many around in the DFW area. Food and service were excellent. Hope this place stays open! Came from Garland.

Excellent traditional Puerto Rican food. Very casual, served in take out containers, even if you eat it there. There is no water service. Water bottles are $1.50. No fountain drinks, cans only. Other than that, this place is excellent.
I was looking for good Puertorican food and this place caught my attention. I had the kankan pork chop with mofongo and my gf had the fried pork with mofongo. Both were really good. We also ordered pastelillo de carne (beef) and de queso (cheese). Highly recommended place if you are looking for puertorican food.
My favorite restaurant! The food is amazing! I lived in Plano and would drive to Irving to eat here! Not a fancy restaurant which is what I love! Had Thanksgiving a few times catered by them and it was a big hit with my family! I now live in Maui and will be visiting and can’t wait to go eat there!
Adobo Puerto Rican Café is like stepping right back into Puerto Rico, which I proudly consider my second home away from home. Every time I come here, I’m reminded of the beauty and flavor of the island, and it’s easily my go-to spot in Texas when I’m craving the excellence of Caribbean food. The churrasco is always cooked perfectly, not overdone, but tender and juicy, and it pairs flawlessly with the rice and beans. Top that off with an ice-cold Fanta, and you’ve got yourself the full Puerto Rican experience… well, almost. The only thing missing is the beach!
This reminds me of my aunts chicken soup asopao de pollo delicious. Friendly service. Recommended for the food. Building looks very poorly taking care, but you find worse looking places in PR with the best food, so that doesn't scare me. But the food is very good . We had pastelillos, I call them empanadillas of beef, Tostones and Maduros, and the chicken soup perfect for a cold day like today
Can i just say that the food waa absolutely amazing. If yall want to get there make sure yall get there early before the crowd the place gets packed luckily we got there in time to get a table lol. I got the arroz con gandules and a canoa. It was soo delicious the pernil was soft and moist it wasnt dry so flavorful. The rice was nicely cooked. The Canoa was delicious. My girlfriend got some Chuleta Can Can with arroz con gandules and My son got the empanadillas con carne y queso.... when i tell you it was like being back in the island.. Boricua asta el fin. Definitely recommended. Only criticism i have is that the place is hot they need a better AC system. The fans helped a little and maybe it was the croud but thats pretty much it. I hope yall expand The Best PR food around and i drove an Hour to get here well worth it! 💕💕
My family and I have been here a handful of times in the past almost 10 years. I have to give credit where it's due. The food is delicious, this is the best Puerto Rican restaurant in DFW food wise. The mofongo con carne frita is top notch. The mofongo is smooth and very flavorful. The establishment however could use some improvements. It feels very old and dirty and it's also small. I can't complain about the wait time. Great food takes time and I respect that. Wait time for us (a family of 3) has ranged between 30 minutes to over an hour. Expect long wait times. The service is what really needs improvement. This restaurant has so much potential, but service can affect the entire experience. We understand things happen but as a business establishment, staff should be professional and courteous. I always recommend Adobo to friends and family. It is worth trying. Everyone's experience is different :)
Food is excellent! Everything we've ever ordered here has always tasted as if my mom had cooked it, bringing back great memories. I have 3 issues with the place that knocks it down to 3 stars: 1. No AC and today it was brutally hot and those fans didn't help 2. No fountain drinks 3. They serve you on Styrofoam plates with plastic utensils
We finally went to this Puerto Rican restaurant. I will be conpletly honest. We ate and it was delicious. However, the churrasco (skirt steak) was not skirt steak. It was regular steak. I ordered mofongo. It tasted good but as a "mangu" (Dominican dish) not Mofongo. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico and this mofongo was not mofongo. Again, it had good flavor but not mofongo. Also, I ordered an 'alcapurria' and it was undercooked. (Please look at my pictures for reference.)The meat was delicious but the 'masa' was not cooked all the way. The place is humble and cossy! I loved the decorations and the constant videos and music playing on their TV. The place needs some repairs and inprovement, but it is a good place. We do not like where it is located. Also, we Puerto Ricans are know for being happy people. Somehow, I did not feel that the staff was happy, nor welcoming. Only one of the servers (whom we believe it was one of the cooks as well) was the sweetest. We thank him for his seevice! Overall, it was a good experience, but not impresive enough to be back! Thanks for everything!
Over all experience for the little local Puerto Rican restaurant scale of 1-10, ten being the absolute best. This restaurant comes in at a THREE. Completed a phone order, great friendly customer service. Restaurant gives an old town, small rustic vibes. FOOD: Mofongo Carne Frita- Horrible. *The fried pork was hard, tough and flavorless. Mofongo was dry and stiff, very much a bad representation of Puerto. This dish should be smooth and flavorful. Also, not giving the tasteful flavors of Puerto. *Tostones O Amarillos - This is embarrassing to mess up tostones. Rubbery and no flavor. The sauce provided for the tostones was bland. A watery consistency not creamy. * Empanadas- Awful I would not recommend this restaurant.
