I had a fantastic experience at Mastro's Steakhouse! Mastro's Steakhouse impressed not only with its signature dishes but also with its inviting ambiance and impeccable cleanliness. The warm, elegant atmosphere enhanced the dining experience, making it a perfect setting for a special meal. The attention to cleanliness throughout the restaurant contributed to a sense of comfort and added to the overall positive impression. I had a fantastic experience at this location. The filet and bone marrow were cooked to perfection, and the creamed corn was a delightful side. The attentive service, especially from Robert, added to the overall enjoyment. Highly recommend for a great dining experience! Mastro's Steakhouse truly excels in creating a delightful environment for its patrons.

Has dinner at Mastro’s steakhouse, Valley Fair. Food was very nice. The seafood tower has a nice selection of seafood. The bone-in ribeye tastes pretty good. Their signature warm butter cake is always good and tasty. We dine in a private room and service was pretty good. Overall, experience is good and having it near the mall is an added advantage for parking.

If I could give service a 10 star I would... Evan was our server....master at his craft... Everyone on the floor this visit was top notch... Sushi was pretty good, French onion soup was top notch, sea bass was pretty good, pork chop was good ... Lobster Mac... Not so good... Key lime, dirty, white chocolate, and espresso martini all fantastic The banana one... Hard pass... We tried it tho... Onion bread rolls... Fantastic... Service amazing... Great dining experience

Great food and great service. We were a party of 13 and we were told that we have to sign a paper agreeing to the gratuity of 20% plus a 4% banquet fee. This was the only strange thing in the whole experience otherwise a perfect venue for food and live entertainment. The steaks were at the percent temperature as well as all the side helpings that were tasty as well as plentiful in size. The servers were knowledgeable, polite and curious. Overall a great fine dining experience.

Mastro’s Steakhouse is an absolute treat! The live singing creates such an elegant and lively atmosphere — it really adds to the whole dining experience. The butter cake is beyond amazing — rich, warm, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The sushi tower was incredibly fresh, and even the bread they serve is soft and fresh out of the oven. The steak was perfectly cooked and so tasty — truly the star of the night. On top of all that, the service is exceptional — attentive, friendly, and professional. Everything about Mastro’s makes it a memorable night out!

Great service! If you are in the mood for a good steak try the inbone filet. We also had the KC steak, the sauce is amazing delicious. I wanted to dip everything in it. The bread basket was so good. I was not a fan of the cheese bread sticks.

Went here for dinner with some work colleagues and all I can say is wow. Evan was our server and he was fantastic. Always making sure we had everything we needed even before we had to look up. His food recommendations were also top tier. 10/10 would recommend him and Mastro's again.

Night out with friends & this was the perfect way to start the night. The food was delicious, service was great & music in the background. We all ordered different things to try....I ordered the Lamb Rack, it was sooo good. Make sure to make reservations. I will definitely be back & recommended if are looking for a good Steakhouse.

Mastro’s Steakhouse is truly on another level. From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional — attentive, friendly, and professional. Our steaks were cooked exactly how we ordered, juicy and full of flavor. The sides were just as impressive, especially the lobster mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The atmosphere is upscale but comfortable, with great lighting and live music that makes the whole experience even better. It’s the perfect place for birthdays, special occasions, or just treating yourself to a high-quality meal. Mastro’s is easily one of the best steakhouses in the Bay Area. Worth every penny

Finding the entrance was way more confusing than it should be. Don’t follow the mall directions. Baekjeong is located outside, near Bloomingdale and King Fish House restaurant. The elevator entrance is to the left of Kings, and the stairway entrance is to the right. Once you know that, you’re good. Inside, most people get the full Korean BBQ setup with staff grilling the meat right at the table. We skipped the BBQ this time and ordered the Japchae (stir-fried sweet potato clear noodles tossed with julienned carrots, onions, spinach, and mushrooms and thinly sliced marinated ribeye or sirloin) and the pork belly bowl. Both came out fast and were solid if you’re not in the mood for grilling. However, the staff take the responsibility of grilling your choice of protein. Overall, good food and friendly service—just be ready for the entrance scavenger hunt.

Overall the meat here was tasty and the service was good! We asked the server if he recommended the beef belly or brisket and he said it depends on the cut they have that day and actually went to check for us! Boneless short rib and ribeye were great too. Pork belly was good, large intestine was good if you already know you enjoy it. The banchan was alright, nothing to write home about. But I definitely recommend eating the meat with wasabi and salt at any BBQ place you go to, it's a super good combo!

The food was good — loved the seafood pancake, super crunchy! The music was very loud though, making it hard to talk with friends.

We had a great experience here from start to finish. Even without reservations we were sat with 15 minutes. The food was excellent, and the service really stood out—especially our server, Andrew. He was attentive without being overbearing, checked in on us regularly, and made sure everything we needed was taken care of. Our table was properly set, the banchan was plentiful, and the pacing of the meal felt just right. Andrew was friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely made the experience better. With the quality of the food and the level of service we received, the prices felt justified. We’ll definitely be back and hope to have Andrew as our server again.

Nice, fascinating experience at Baekjeong Bbq! You get to have a different type of Korean bbq experience, unlike the “you do it yourself type thing.” For example, they sear and cook your meat quickly (across all tables) while somehow not burning it. Staff was also very nice & inside was very clean & polished. Definitely would come again if we had time.

Great meat quality and extremely friendly service. The unmarinated short rib and brisket were my favorites. Preferred the beef more than the pork in general. Seafood pancake was unique with crispy noodly bits and a strong seafood flavor. The kimchi and soybean stews were also very nice. Large restaurant that was able to accommodate our gathering full of kids/babies. Looking forward to come back.

If you like Korean food you shall try this restaurant. It was our first time here and we like all dishes we ordered. The server will cook everything for you. We ordered a lot more than we can eat and the price was very reasonable for all the food we got.

I’ve been here a few times already and love the food. This time Sharon served us and provided incredible customer service! She really cared about our experience and checked on us regularly. She cooked the food perfectly (we requested medium rare) and made sure to ask a couple times if we needed any additional side dishes (which servers sometimes forget to do). We were celebrating a birthday too and made us feel special. Thank you Sharon!

Had such a great experience at Baekjeong! The chefs cook the meats right at your table, and their beef combos are definitely a must-try. I loved the unlimited side dish refills, and what’s new to me (and so good!) was the unlimited egg refill along with their cheesy corn side dish 😋. We spent around $120 for two people a little pricey, but honestly worth it for the quality and experience 💯🔥

We had a great dinner experience at Baekjeong. Frankie was especially attentive and knowledgeable. Thank you for the excellent service! One area that could use improvement is the lounge upstairs. Guests were told to wait there, but there was no clear communication about the wait time or seating process. Many people were left wondering when they’d be called and had to follow up themselves. It would be helpful if the host provided clearer instructions and updates. Also, having a working phone number for questions or concerns would be appreciated. Aside from that, everything else was fantastic. Thanks again for a memorable meal!

We generally had a good experience. After giving it some thought I give it 4 stars, not 5, mostly based on price/quality. Appetizers (tuna tartar and bone marrow) were great. Steak was also quite good, but one steak was slightly overcooked (almost medium vs medium rare) and one steak was a bit more rare on one side than we expected (but actually very tasty!) server said something about “hot spots on the grill”, which for steak-house at this price point seems strange. The service overall was quite good (except our server completely disappeared for about 20 minutes right after the “medium doneness” situation). To be fair he did suggest to redo but I didn’t want to do it. Overall I still recommend this steakhouse, but it was not a perfect 5 stars.

Mastro's Steakhouse is a fine dining steakhouse, the exterior design of golden metrics explain it all. The vibe is low key, whole the food is high class, strongly recommend their ribeye, medium rare, you'll like it as I did.

At first, we had a reservation for the day after. We went and they still sat us, moving our reservation. It was great! Our server was really nice, there was some live music, piano player that was also signing. Food portions are generous. I 100% recommend sharing. They ask you to select your meat/protein and then order a side. I wish we would've shared more, or at least gotten one less side. We had the mutton, fillet, potatoes, brussel sprouts, and a few other things. The homemade whipped cream wasn't it... Butter cake either. But I liked my mutton!

First time in this location, they greeted us well the ambiance was fine dining level.  The appetizer, entree, and sides were perfectly cooked. Five stars all over the board.  I looked at the dress code on the website after I visited, and it says that it is a fine dining $$$$, and their dress code( short, Tshirt) was not followed by the customer. The Hostess and Managers didn't do anything about it. With respect to other customers, this is where they separate the fine dining Restaurant from a restaurant. ***

Went there during the foodie week. Had French onion soup and the 22 oz bone in ribeye steak medium rare, came out perfectly. My partner had the lobster bisque and the 12 oz bone in fillet, which turned out more like medium done instead of medium rare. Also ordered the cauliflower to share. Their wine pour was much more than normal... maybe around 8-9oz. Waiter and other servers were nice, gave us some suggestions to consider.

Mastro’s Steakhouse is a well known and popular chain with locations throughout the United States. I’ve been fortunate to have been to a few locations and it’s always a great meal with generous portions, ample seafood and meat options (USDA to Japanese A5 Wagyu) and with great service. The Valley Fair location is a popular location but I’m not a fan of the mall due to the paid parking (which isn’t validated) and how far the parking is to the actual restaurant (unless you valet). However, if you want an old school steakhouse vibe with 400° hot plates, steaks done appropriately medium rare and leftovers for days, this is your spot. Dining is indoor only and all credit cards are accepted. Reservations are recommended on Opentable but limited walk-ins are accepted.

The food was great, good service, the room is dark as heck, could barely see what is was eating. But 2 things made this experience a 4 star and not a 5 star. I blame the bartender. I asked for a Siesta cocktail. And I know not everyone knows what one is. But a good bartender will look it up on several bartender apps. But unfortunately, the bartender didn't pay attention to how to serve one. I got served with ice in a HiBall glass. Any trained bar man or mixologists will know if a drink has Campari, it's going to be an aperitif. Therefore it's always served neat. Always serve in a nick n nora or a coupe glass. So I bring it up to the attention of waiter.Waiter takes it away and comes back with a poured into a big coupe. The problem is they didn't remake it.So now it's ultra diluted. So I figured i'm working with an inexperienced bartender, so I just drink it as is, and don't complain any further. But then I ordered a double espresso macchiato with my dessert. I usually order one to offset the sweetness of dessert. Never got. I was presented with the bill. I reminded her to 86 the espresso. Details people, details. It was a Tuesday evening, your weren't that busy.

Been to Baekjeong a few times due to the latest AMEX plat refresh for resy. First meal, we ordered: combo small beef with rib eye $103 lychee fresh add ketel $14 moscow mule $16 Had a reservation. Super backed up the day we went so was significantly later. Drink also didn't have alcohol so we had to send it back. Service is really slow in general (from the times we've been). Staff could be a bit more attentive and proactive. Meat quality is definitely good here. However, for the value, if I didn't have the AMEX credit, I'm not sure I would try them out with the wait and service issues. BUT, with the AMEX credit, if you need a decent meal and don't mind some wait, this is a good spot! Overall, 3.5 star experience, but rounding up to 4! Parking in the garage...obviously could be difficult with Valley Fair.

As KBBQ comes, Baekjeong is a fantastic experience. Parking is easy as it’s directly inside Valley Fair, but it does get incredibly busy so 100% make a reservation here. It feels a step up from most KBBQ places you’ll ever step foot into with a beautiful setting inside and pretty refined wait staff that are well trained and good at cooking the food for you. The biggest drawback we would say is a bit of a peeled back menu selections wise, but the other side of that is what they do have available is some pretty good meat. For our table of 7 we had a bit of a wait beyond our reservation time but were still seated relatively quickly considering how packed the place was. The ordering was quick and soon we were on the way with our experience… For meats we got the brisket, boneless short rib, and marinated short rib. For sides we got the seafood pancake and seafood soft tofu stew as well as the eggs and cheese corn cooked on our grill. The sides were BIG hits. We must’ve gotten at least 3 refills of the cheese corn alone and another of the egg. Likewise, the meat was very good. If we could rank the meat it would probably be (worst to best) boneless short rib, brisket, marinated short rib. The marinated short rib was easily the best of the three and we wish we didn’t order it as the final meat otherwise we would’ve eaten far, far more of it. Ultimately, Baekjeong is a fun experience elevated by the hands off aspect where you can truly kick back, relax, and eat your food. We would recommend this to people hanging around Valley Fair who are looking to eat some KBBQ and maybe don’t mind the price point it comes in at. This is really a spot for special occasions or nice date nights, less so a casual day, but it is worth every penny as we left happy and very, very full.

Service: the staff is very friendly and they help you grill everything to perfect as well! Food: I went with my girly, and we ordered the combo S Hondae favorite. The portion is enough and with good quality of meats, soup and rice. It was a pity that no lettuce comes with the set as a typical Korean style. The japchae we order on the side is a really huge portion. Ambiance: chic and clean. Never understand why Korean BBQ restaurants never have a range hood, and finally found one here! Good for all sizes of parties, but definitely not suitable to have quality conversations due to the noise.

Meat quality not bad. Service is there and staff can help do the BBQ. The complimentary kimchi is a plus. 50 per pax also affordable.

Been here a few times and overall, it is solid. Just make sure you make reservations ahead of time because it can get really busy here for dinner. We've had the Hodong's favorite combo and the small is plenty of food between me and my husband. One of our favorite items to get is the brisket cast iron fried rice. We usually are too full to finish the fried rice but it's great as leftovers. I would also recommend the beef tartare. It's one of the few places around here that I think makes it well. The two servers we've had that made our last 2 visits enjoyable were Billy and Phat. They were attentive to the food and cooked the meats well. Phat refilled our rice paper and checked on us if we were slowing down our pace with eating. We once had a server who cleared the meat off the grill and threw it away instead of putting the meat to the side. She was distracted with some other customer but that was still a big turn off during my first visit here. The price is a little higher for kbbq but I think its worth it for the quality and quantity for the combo sets, and just having someone else cook for you. Just remember to dip your meat in the salt and sauces.

Good quality meat and banchans. The kimchi stew on the side was also very good. It’s usually pretty busy so try to reserve ahead of time. Pretty pricey for what you get though, especially quantity wise, but a decent alternative if you’re craving kbbq and don’t want to stink up your place.

We went with a family of 3x (2x adults and 1x six year old), ordered the small comb and a seafood pancake. The meat quality is average but the pancake is quite heavy and oily, would not recommend for a smaller party. The small combo comes with a kimchi stew but when it comes it was already room temperatured, I was expecting a steaming stew though. The banchan choices (small dishes) were very limited, we were informed that they run out of kimchi when asked for a refill… overall, this is an average Korean BBQ so don’t set your expectations too high

Traditional non-AYCE KBBQ spot with quality meats. Slightly overpriced meat justified by its richness, fattiness, and tenderness. I was surprised at how fast I was getting full after eating a few bites of meat. The soy sauce that was provided complimented the greasiness of the meat very well. The sides were average in my opinion – nothing stood out. The corn cheese came with more corn than cheese and the egg was slightly salty. The seafood pancake was overcooked and too crispy in my opinion. The japchae was great but would have loved to have more noodles and meat instead of veggies. The service was great – everything is cooked by the staff to the rarity of you choosing. Only caveat is you can’t choose the order of the meats you eat as it is predetermined based on what you order. Ended up waiting for about 20 minutes for dinner time on a Friday which is not too bad of a wait. Would definitely choose to go to AYCE KBBQ instead to eat to my heart’s content.

Overrated steak house. The steaks are bland. The seafood dishes are bland. I prefer LB steak across the street at SR. The one thing they have going for them is the pianist on some nights and the nice bar. Other than that, it’s more of a spot to impress your date. But don’t expect the food to match the price. There much better places in the area.

We arrived here on Friday night, and they told us the dress code when reservation. I wore a long skirt, but when I opened the door, I saw a family wearing sweatpants and slip-on shoes. The atmosphere was pretty good, with live music and a modern bar. I was looking forward to the food but I can only sigh because I was disappointed. We ordered 6 oz fillet $54, dry aged ribeye $89, and side dishes $16 each. My fillet was too dry and had a bad texture. Among the side dishes, only the wild mushrooms were good. The others like Brussels sprout were too dry, and the spinach and mashed potatoes were very ordinary. We brought a bottle of wine, corkage fee $50. Not sure if we will come back again .

Pretty disappointed with the service and food. The hostess took about 10 minutes to put our name down. She didn't even greet us. She said it will take a few minutes to be seated because they had to get the table ready. No offense but it was not busy, tons of open tables, and no one in front of us but it took another 10 minutes at least to seat us. the food presentation looked good, but the taste was blah. Not flavorful, nothing special. I've had much tastier elsewhere. The cook looked miserable at his job. Actually most of the workers looked like they did not want to be there. It was happy hour and our server only took half on one of the two appetizers we ordered. Lucky I requested for a receipt because the waiter did not show it to me when I paid. When I brought it up, they kindly reversed it but did not give me a receipt indicating they did. For some reason that took over 20 minutes before they were able to give us something to show for the reversal of charges. It's ridiculous. Yeah this place is definitely overrated. Not worth all the hype.

After we sat down at the table, we waited for about 15 minutes before our server finally showed up with menus and asked about our water preferences. The $6 bread basket seemed to be a good deal, but no, everything was way too salty. My hubby’s medium steak looked extremely rare. He didn’t enjoy it. The broccolini side I got with the jumbo lobster tail was also very salty. It was a pricy dinner and I was chugging water nonstop after that.

We went to the steakhouse and were highly disappointed. We order around $600 of food for 3 people. They charged for the bread and brought a few pieces. Nothing special. Full of butter and garlic. For a restaurant with such high prices you would thing the break is included. NO. The starters were so small and very low quality shrimps (3 pieces) with tons of sauce. They said in their menu they were jumbo shrimps. They were regular shrimps drowned in sauce. The calamari was chewy and so few pieces. Both had so much garlic you could not taste the actual food. It is easy to mask the quality of food with butter and garlic. Then we ordered wagyu beef and the fish for main course. The so called wagyu beef was so hard and chewy. I have had both wagyu and kobe beef in Japan. The one we got at Mastro did not taste anything like the ones I had in Japan. Even buying Waguy beef from Costco is not only cheaper but also higher quality and tastier than the one we got at Mastro. Again, tons of butter on it. You could only taste the butter and garlic. The fish was supposed to have a crust of herb on it. The only thing added to it was loads of butter and garlic. The garlic was the main ingredient in everything we ordered. Then we ordered the french fries fried in waguy grease. NO. It was just regular fries fried in some cheap oil but at the price of gold. We also had fried broccoli. Again the main ingredient was garlic and butter. There was so much garlic salt and butter on it you could hardly taste the broccoli itself! We also ordered the gnocchi with mushroom. It was loaded with butter, garlic and cream. Oh my GOD it was so displeasing. For the price we paid for 3 people it was a grand disappointment. It is a good restaurant if you have a gift card to waste or show off to people telling them you can spend a lot of money. However, everything about the food was disappointing. The decor and ambiance were very mediocre and it was very cold in the restaurant. We asked 3 times for the temperature to be raised. It was not. The manager/owner showed up and said she is boiling since she had raised the temperature for us. However, it was obvious that she was not being honest since all 3 of us froze. It was so uncomfortable to just sit there in the cold and wait for our food to be presented while freezing. We could not wait to get out of there. They also made a mistake on our bill which we brought to their attention. They corrected it. However, it left a very bad taste in our mouth. Do not recommend it.

Went to Baekjeong San Jose in the evening to celebrate a birthday and ordered the Small Combo. Since the grilling is done by the server, we did not have the option to cook the meat ourselves. The beef brisket was sliced extremely thin, which made it tough and difficult to chew. Unfortunately, the grilling service felt very rushed and pushy. The server cooked at an urgent pace and repeatedly placed meat onto our plates before we had finished what was already on the grill, without asking if we were ready. He immediately moved on to grilling the next items, making the entire meal feel hurried. During this process, the server accidentally dropped a piece of meat onto the table, then picked it up and placed it directly onto the plate we were eating from, which was extremely unsanitary and unacceptable. As soon as the last piece of meat was finished, the server removed the grill without asking. The entire dining experience felt rushed from start to finish, and we were done with our meal in about 50 minutes. The seafood pancake was also very disappointing. It contained very little actual seafood—mostly imitation crab, a few broken clam pieces, and small octopus legs. It was overly oily and lacked substance. Not recommended.
