Opinions de Kobe Sushi Santa Clara
It’s a well-known restaurant in the Bay Area, especially famous for its Japanese dishes. The atmosphere is very relaxed, with cozy and thoughtfully designed decor.
This place is AWESOME! If you're looking for a relaxing experience, complete with fish and waterfalls, and very tasty food, go here! Authentic Japanese food at it's finest. I love the Grilled chicken hot pot, beef teriyaki, miso soup, vegetable/shrimp tempura is to-die-for!! It has a rotating sushi bar as well. Prices are average and fair. This is a family-owned restaurant of 30 years! Please give it a try, you won't regret it.
Went for a family dinner and it was a very calm beautiful atmosphere. Food was delicious and we didn't have to wait for long. Portions were not huge. But we were all left full. Definitely come back. Thanks again Kobe restaurant 👏😁
Fantastic atmosphere, I was so surprised as I did not expect such a cool experience just from looking at the place from the outside. Outside gives nice and elegant too, but the inside decor is stellar. Great food, prices! Salmon Sashimi was so fresh and nicely cut, very generous sushi special - eel was great -- , gyoza fried perfectly, niku udon delicious. Fast service great atmosphere!
Randomly stopped in for lunch and picked up some Katsu Donburi. The restaurant was beautiful looking and most impressive I've seen this far south of San Francisco. We haven't eaten at a restaurant yet since the lock down, but this will be the first place I take my wife. The food was good, different than the Katsudon I've had before, had peppers and veggies in it. Good experience overall.
I loved it, good service, the miso soup was amazing 😻 everything was great
I’ve been there a few times, and I have never been disappointed. Although the food seems a tad pricey, it’s actually pretty reasonable compared to other japanese restaurants. Also, they have really good discounts for quality meals ($3.99 for a plate of salmon!), and the staff are also extremely nice. Even though I noticed there were only about one or two waitresses, the service was still relatively fast. My friends and I ordered teriyaki chicken bentos (which were really good, and only $5.99), and a tempura mix (about $9, which is a little pricey, but I’ve seen worse). Lastly, I’m giving 5 stars because I really like the environment I was eating in. There was a small pond right next to my table, with real fish swimming in it, which was really cool. The japanese art and tapestries were a great addition to the restaurant, and made the overall ambiance more peaceful (but I would say no the LED lights). There was enough light, but not so much it was too bright and ruined the feel of the restaurant. I applaud the restaurant for putting so much thought into their food and restaurant environment, and recommend it as a great place for a nice, inexpensive meal for anyone who likes food.
Great food , super tasty, loved the boats , koi fish pond and excellent tea.
Amazing atmosphere and food. If you came alone or even as a couple - enjoy a bar seats- boats are so relaxing.

Teresa, Oscar and the team always make my visits worth it. Please be patient when they are a bit busy as it's a small team but the food is always delicious. Thank you!
We love weekends with the sushi boats for interesting selections plus ordering our personal favorites. It's a great place, very fresh food, very friendly staff.

We recently visited Kobe Japanese Restaurant and had an overall pleasant experience. The location is convenient with plenty of parking, and the atmosphere is charming, especially with the Japanese koi pond right next to our table, which added a nice touch. The food presentation was excellent and added to the overall dining experience. We arrived during late lunch hours, and while the food was good, it might have been fresher earlier in the day. For this visit, I’d rate the food 3.5 stars, but I’d like to come back at a better time to fully enjoy what they have to offer. The prices are reasonable, and the restaurant has a lot of potential. I’m looking forward to giving it another try soon!
Kobe is a bit hidden away but worth a visit. Their sushi is always good and the rest of the menu is definitely classic family restaurant comfort food level. Went on a Wednesday using a Groupon and it was slow - very quite. Good place for a date or talking with friends and not getting blown out by noise..... nice ambiance too.....

Kobe is our favorite family night dinner spot. They have the friendliest staff and servers. Our food is always fresh and prepared to our liking. I'm a huge fan of their specials, Salmon collar is divine! The ambience and koi pond inside is relaxing. Great place.
Been meaning to try this place, finally did, and was pretty disappointed. Positives first: the staff was really nice, the place was super clean, and the ambience was great. There were lots of cool decor and even a koi pond. But the main attraction (the food) was subpar. Portions were really small for the price, and a few items just tasted a little off compared to other similar restaurants. I dont think I’ll be coming back.
Went there for lunch. Nicely decorated and the food was good. Nothing really great but was good. I would give 4 stars but there was only one waitress and even though she was trying her best, the service was little slow.

Great atmosphere, less than mediocre sushi. It's not horrible, but for paying these prices, I would expect better quality.

Like the Koi pond and the service is ok. But the food is not very tasty. The unagi sauce on all kinds of rolls is too sweet and the salmon skin rolls taste a bit bitter.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the quality of the food I ordered online today. I chose your restaurant for a special occasion, my anniversary dinner, and unfortunately, every single item was terrible. The rice in the rice bowl was overcooked, and the sushi was so soggy it fell apart and was swimming in liquid. Both the egg rolls and the edamame were also overcooked. I was expecting a quality meal based on your reviews, but it's clear something has changed. The quality of the food I received was completely unacceptable.
DO NOT COME HERE!!! Me and my family have been coming here since I was little. We’re regulars at Kobe & over the years have dealt with our fair share of mistakes, from hairs in our rolls (countless times), getting food poisoning, to missing order items & having to drive all the way back across town, we’ve continued to support the business. We ordered our dinner as usual & when I took my first bite of mussel I realized there was a fully intact crab on top of the mussel covered in sauce. How does the chef not pay attention enough to look down before steaming & adding sauce to the mussel? One look down would’ve been enough to realize and take it off before prepping & serving. Owner (teresa) refused to remake the order. She was extremely rude & aggressive (sounds like a repeating pattern considering the other reviews) Over 10 years of being a customer ends today. Horrible way to handle the situation & after all the hairs/mess ups/etc i’ve had enough. We won’t be returning. Unsanitary, overpriced, run down, & horrible management. This place should be shut down. Take your business elsewhere.

Convenient location but food well below average. Taste-less fish, tasteless ginger, food gooped up with questionable sauce (salmon bento - not in a bento box), boxed salad with overly sweet sauce, gyoza burned and dry - overall - sad, sad experience in an empty restaurant for Tuesday lunch (we were the only guests 11:30-1:30 - not suprising . below quality of college cafeteria food. Regretful...
