I went to Meat on Ocean on Valentine’s Day with my love one. I love the sunset and the atmosphere portrayed by the restaurant. The food was delicious, we ordered the pork ribs, the 120 days old rib eye and the traditional beef tartare. The pork ribs were the softest ribs I have ever eaten and the rib eye is really really tender and also have a butter taste to it. It is crusty on the outside but soft inside. Delicious! The beef tartare was also good. Service was also amazing. We didn’t know what the different years meant for steaks. The server patiently explained all the difference.
Located right across from Santa Monica Beach, this steakhouse has quickly become one of my favorites. The atmosphere is stylish and welcoming, and the service was excellent. The steak was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. But the highlight for me was the chocolate cake. Rich, decadent, and absolutely unforgettable. Perfect spot to stop by after a beach walk. Highly recommend🤍
Went for my birthday just this past May. The food was amazing, the service was great, and the view over the ocean was pretty cool. Everything we tried was flavorful and the sides were enough to feed more than just one person. I would definitely visit here again in the future.
The food here is top notch. I had an 8 ounce filet mignon that was so tender and juicy and flavorful. We also had the salmon which we agreed was the best salmon we’ve ever had. The service was outstanding. Highly recommended.
My experience today was simply perfect — possibly the best steakhouse I’ve ever been to. And that says a lot, since I dine at steakhouses all over the country. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. My wife, my daughter, and I were warmly welcomed. Our server was incredibly kind, attentive, and took the time to explain the menu in detail, which truly elevates the experience at a restaurant of this level. Whenever I visit a new place, I always order a ribeye steak to judge the fundamentals — and it was flawless. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, the mashed potatoes were spot-on, creamy, and full of flavor. Everything was exceptionally well executed. As a starter, we ordered the butcher bread, which was also excellent — very flavorful, well presented, and a perfect way to begin the meal. Without any exaggeration, Meat on Ocean easily earns a spot in my top three steakhouses I’ve ever visited. Outstanding service, top-quality meat, perfect execution, and an overall exceptional dining experience. A must-visit for anyone who truly appreciates great steak and a complete fine-dining experience. 🥩✨
Ocean views, world-class beef, and serious steakhouse energy🌊🥩 This modern, meat-centric steakhouse goes beyond the classics with an artisanal charcuterie bar, an exhibition dry-aging room, and prime beef ranging from dry-aged domestic cuts to Japanese A-5 Wagyu. We started with Kumamoto oysters and rich clam chowder, followed by a 5-item charcuterie board featuring Prosciutto di Parma, Chorizo Soria, and standout cheeses. The highlight was the Wagyu flight — ribeye, New York, and filet mignon — paired with grilled cauliflower for balance. Thoughtfully crafted cocktails like the Noble Pour, Old Fashioned, and Safe Harbor rounded out the experience.
We come to Meat on Ocean for pretty much any occasion--birthdays, anniversaries, dinners with friends, or just because. Every time we eat here, we know we'll be back. The steak is always amazing, and the atmosphere never disappoints. We're always happy to see the manager, Brian, when we come in. He goes above and beyond to make sure we have a great experience and is quick to take care of anything that comes up. Such a great manager. We've also had Tim as our waiter several times, and he's fantastic-super attentive, polite, and on top of everything. This place has truly become our go-to, and we'll definitely keep coming back and bringing friends with us. Thanks for always delivering a great experience!

Fantastic experience at Meat. Great food—especially the tempura and rib-eye steak—plus a well-thought-out kids’ menu with a steak option. Very friendly staff, impressive food and drink selection, and everything was incredibly tasty. Highly recommend.
The restaurant had a quaint, New Orleans style vibe with a warm atmosphere and one heckuva meat selection. The atmosphere was warm and inviting with low-key lighting a back room where the meats are aged and a very solid wine selection. The food overall was absolutely delicious. We had Valentina as our server and she was amazing (we were in town on a work conference). I had a "chef's choice" charcuterie board, tried a bone-in ribeye, and there were several menu items to choose from including a specialty menu for meat selections. We sat across from the room where the meats were being aged and of course, what's more mouth-watering than that (to a meat-lover of course)? Overall, it was an amazing experience from start to finish and I highly recommend this location, especially if you are craving some top-line meat selections.

As tourists from NYC, Meat On Ocean was our favorite meal in Santa Monica by far! The food was spectacular. My partner loved his steak, and as a non-steak eater, I was blown away by the lobster tails. We had a great charcuterie board to start too, and a new dessert, a peanut butter cup tiramisu for my partner’s birthday. I made a reservation ahead of time and let them know it was a special occasion and they hooked us up with the best, most scenic table in the house! Our server was excellent and provided us with lots of guidance through the menu. Just an awesome experience through and through. We can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection, juicy and full of flavor. Every bite melted in my mouth. I also appreciated the sides and cocktails—they really tied the whole meal together. I came here for a friend’s birthday and had a really good experience, the service was amazing the servers were nice and were knowledgeable in the area around it was nice to hear about places to go and things to see from them. The food was great and there were plenty of options the steaks had amazing flavor and I would go again. The atmosphere is 4/5 because it was kinda cold and we were sat outside but they did bring us a blanket.
If you ever want steak while in Santa Monica, this is the place to go. The prime New York strip, surf and turf and Mac and cheese was excellent. Tiffany took great care of us while we were there. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it.
This is another beautiful restaurant located on Ocean Avenue in San Monica. We had drinks and appetizers as we waited for our takeout. The decor is stunning, the service at the bar was fantastic, and the food was excellent. Meat on Ocean is a great place to grab a special occasion meal. We highly recommend it here!
This was by far the best steak I have ever had. I had the 45 day aged rib eye medium. My wife had the filet mignon. We could have shared the steak there was so much food. We had the beet salad and shared it. We had cheese and meet charcuterie. Half bottle of red wine. We ended with Chocolate cake and milk and pistachio crème brûlée it was to die for.
I was on the hunt for a special spot to celebrate my husband's birthday, and this place turned out to be just perfect! One of the main reasons I picked it was their incredible surf and turf – the food was absolutely AMAZING! The ambiance was delightful, and I really loved all the attention to detail. Plus, the stunning views added a romantic touch to the whole experience. It’s great that you can make a reservation ahead of time, and they even offer valet parking, which is super convenient! We went here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I had made a reservation online noting that we were celebrating that and requesting that we sit at one of the tables by the patio. We arrived and were sat at a table far from where we requested and all the tables where we requested were unused. The waiter was friendly but didn’t really talk much to us or even ask if we were celebrating anything. It felt as if we were just another table to check off. Looking at the menu online, you get an idea for what to expect price wise. I would say we easily spent at least $100 per person after taxes. For that price, we expected the food to be spectacular. We started off with the wedge salad as an appetizer. Easily the most flavorful thing we ordered of the night which is disappointing. For the main dish we both ordered filet mignons. They were cooked to our liking but no flavor. You have to pay extra for seasonings on your steak and even to get sauce on the side. We tried three of the sauces which made the steak worth eating. Without them it was pretty bland. We got the macaroni and cheese side which was average. It honestly tasted like melted ice cream somehow. At the end of our meal we had some leftovers so we asked for them to be packed up. We noticed at other tables the waiters had packed other customer meals. Personally I don’t really care if that is done on my behalf, but the indifference shown by our waiter to us was just off putting. If you’re looking for a super flavorful meal, I’d try elsewhere.
