The smash burgers are MUCH better than Shake Shack. Only negative, it was very cold in the eating area. We should have ate in the car.
High praise to the tater tots, absolutely perfect. Burger was exactly what I was expecting. The freezes are bomb and I love all the ad-ins. Staff was great from beginning to end. They were nice when we didn't know how to order the drinks exactly right, and they made sure we left with all the extra things that used to be standard without asking.
5 stars all because of TRAVIS he’s a real one came thru and he was the sweetest even though it was late his attitude was so positive and welcoming not including that customer service on point thank you TRAVISS sonic hired the right person🙏🏽
Great service! The food was exactly what I expected. The drinks were excellent (at the time), and we will definitely be coming back. It was unfortunate that when we got home the ice had melted because there was no Styrofoam cup and the drinks tasted bad. We learned our lesson only go here if we are going to consume it at that moment instead of bringing it home.
As usual the tots were top notch. Love them things. Burger was delicious and the cherry limeade was great. Service was friendly and faster than most other "fast food" places. I never feel ripped off going to a Sonic.

I personally go here for their Cherry Limeade and dirty soda combos. I get the huge Route 44 size and it’s just so delicious and refreshing. Especially on a hot day! I use their app to order so I just drive up and get my order and go! I have had some of their food but nothing really stood out that I would write a review on it.

My friend and I didn’t want to eat in the car and it was nice that we had the option to eat inside unlike the one in Hayward. It was your standard fast food meal. The food wasn’t bad or great. It was enough to fill up during our drive from Humboldt to Alameda.
No staff. Orders are electronically then a staff member brings food to you. Drive in & order your food & eat in the car. No staff on roller skates. Good food, fast service.

Just stopped by this Sonic and ordered a number 1 and number 4 combo. The number 1 is a regular cheesburger meal and the number 4 is a bacon cheeseburger toaster meal. I get home, about 20 minutes away, only to find out that my number 4 has only the bread and cheese. No patty, bacon, or condiments.
Service was good, food was expected for sonic 🤷🏻♀️. I tried a chicken wrap and it was terrible. Chicken overcooked and salty, I definitely got played by advertisement. I come here for slushies mainly, I ordered online and when I got there, they gave me a visibly melted and liquid slushie. Can you wait to pour when I get there? It wasn’t busy, there’s no reason to pour and hold like that. If it’s slow, I expect food to be at least fresh.
Only thing I ever get here when I’m in town is the slushy. Sometimes the pretzel thing and it’s ok. Everything else is usually not worth the trouble. The fries are the worst always dry and cold when I’ve gotten them so I stopped. The service is nice too but they are always slow. The sonic where I live in close to San Jose area is usually better. I always love the slushy though with nerds so they do that one right.
It was kind of strange and a bit impersonal not seeing who took my order. The double burger was OK. Kinda reminded me of a burger that I would get at a gas station, but, i didn't hate it. The tater tots were crunchy tasty but the fries didn't do it for me. The service was good. The employees friendly.
I love a diet cherry limeade all day long, but man, I ordered a medium and a medium Sonic Blast and it cost me almost 17 dollars...that is craaaaay craaaaay crazy. Not even any food just a couple drinks! Sonic needs to get in on this five dollar meal deal kick. Also in Kern County they still use those styrofoam cups for the drinks which I know is not done around here anymore,,,but it sure is handy for keeping those high priced drinks cool. ( I know I know bad for the environment, I'm down) The server was very friendly and personable. Update: News Flash! (To me at least) If you order online or with the sonic app drinks are 1/2 price all day long and there are all kinds of discounts and specials on food. Also after 7pm shakes are 1/2 price. So that makes dining Sonic much more reasonable. I also heard yesterday Sonic is going to create a 1.99 menu to compete with the fast food price drops at other restaurants.

I haven't had Sonic for years, since I lived in the mid west and I remembered it was good, but not this one. The coney dogs, jalapeno Poppers, & Mozzarella sticks were not good. The Mozzarella cheese on the inside was hard. The popcorn chicken and chili cheese fries were okay. We will not be going back.
Got in line at 3:50 pm and waited for nearly an hour for them to forget my fries and only sauce half my chicken, but they remembered to throw a couple mints into the bag. The lady who handed me my bags literally said that’s it, I replied that’s it? She replied yes. The line is so long and the dine-in is closed so there was no way for me to get my fries unless I waited in line for another hour. Make sure you check all your food before leaving. My first time trying Sonic and I’m disappointed, it tasted ok, not sure if I’ll be back anytime soon.
We ordered a chicken tender meal and a sonic cheeseburger. Well I'll probably just continue driving to American canyon for my sonic unfortunately. The customer service wasn't the greatest not bad just really seemed like the kids working didn't really want to be there. The food was like it had all been prepped and just sat waiting with no crunch to the tots and I'll end with the chicken I ordered which was suppose to be buffalo instead was bbq and only have actually in the sauce lol

Went to this location today and it was a mess. Pulled up to stall 4 and pressed the button to order. Waited a few minutes with no response and noticed the screen reverted back to start over. Pressed the button again and waited several more minutes with no response and the screen again reverted back to start over. Thinking there was an issue with that stall we moved the car to stall 3 and started over. Same thing happened. We'd been there for at least 5 minutes with no response despite pressing the button several times. Finally decided to place our order online and we checked in saying we were in stall 3. The system online said the order would be ready at 2:41p and the screen in the stall changed to show they were working on our order with my name. Sat for another 10+ minutes and finally a male voice came on, acting like he was ready to take our order. Let him know we were waiting on an online order (which he should know since the screen in frontof us knew). He said they had it ready and would be out shortly. Sat and waited another 10 minutes before our food finally came. Gave them a lot of grace, but this was ridiculous.
We were very disappointed when we went here for lunch. I use to always go to one in Arizona when we would go and visit my brother and we always lived it. But this one on Santa Rosa Avenue isn't anywhere like what we are use to. My wife ordered a coney chili dog and it looked like a mess and my burger looked like someone just shoved it together and didn't taste that great. When we were there waiting in our vehicle, we were the only ones there and it took forever to get our order. They are lucky I am giving them 2 stars.

We were excited to try this place but once we were inside the excitement quickly dissipated. There is no window to order from. You push a button and talk into the menu board that is on the wall to place your order. Our food came out fast but it wasn't that good. Burgers were very dry. The inside seating area tables were dirty and the whole time we were there nobody came out to clean them. Whatever happen to fast food places actually having decent food? We won't be going back. I'd rather go somewhere else and pay a little more but get a real burger.
Horrible service! I chose to pick up a quick bite to eat there because there was no line in the drive-thru. I ordered a cheeseburger, French fries and Dr. Pepper. I waited probably 10 minutes for my order despite the fact that they were not busy. The person working the drive-thru mumbled the whole time. I was handed my food and drink and drove away. I got home to discover I had received a chicken sandwich, tater tots and if my drink was Dr. Pepper I couldn't tell because it was so watered down. How could they have gotten my entire order wrong!?
Just came with my kids to give it another try after multiple disappointments with the food. If your going for the drinks or icecream it's good.but any food items are just point blank trash . Today I ordered a cheeseburger and after 3 bites notice a black hair inside 🤢 my kids and I were 100% done with the food items from here.
The building and service no longer even have a service counter, of the kiosk half are broken. The lobby was trashed while empty. The menu seemed ok but all the food was dry, frozen, and lower quality than a regular fast food place. The prices are INSANE, we paid $42 for 2 COMBOS!!! Then wait 15 mins for 2 burgers, sides , and drinks... Last time I ordered from here about a year ago we spent $30+ on side and the food looked like it was spike on the floor like a football... This place is shockingly bad.
I have no clue what is going on with this place but just sat in the drive-thru for 30 minutes. This is after I ordered ahead. Everything was melted and hot items cold obviously. Won’t be going back there again. Watched people inside get served over and over and at the car hop spots. Not worth the $30 I spent for 3 shakes and a couple sides
I’m not a fast food guy, but this is some of the worst I’ve ever had. The drinks were massively over syruped to the point of being undrinkable. Food made my partner and I both sick to our stomachs (we just got chicken bites). Seems like people already know not to come though, they had zero customers on a Saturday night. Still took 15 minutes for our small order as the only people there.
Worst experience ever. Waited 30 minutes and still no food...No one to talk to inside. Never again!
I waited in the drive through for over 20 min with only 2 cars in front of me. This is not the first time this has happened either
Horrible experience in drive up. Tonight we ordered 2 drinks totaling $17 and some change. I gave them my card and the person working drive up walked away with my card and then when he came back to the window he asked if I could pay cash. I only had a $50 so I thought it would be an issue, but he said it was fine and walked away from the window again. When I got back my change, I was given 2 $5s, 3 $1s and then an additional $5 totaling $18 when I should have gotten $32 back. I let the person at the window know the change was incorrect and he looked down at the money and walked away again. He came back with another employee that stated she gave him the exact change. We asked how was that possible given the change we were given and she stated she gave him a $20 that she had to get from the vault. I explained that I gave them everything he gave me and was never given a $20. She insisted that she watched him the whole time and that she knows he gave us the correct amount and that she "looked through his pockets, and he didn't have a $20 on him". Not sure how she would have had time to do that nor why she would feel the need to if she "watched him the whole time." I told them I wanted to talk to the manager and she said she was the manager so we told them to review the cameras. I asked for another manager and she said they wouldn't be available until the morning and that I could call them then. We told them we wanted the $50 back and that they can have our drinks to which the manager said we would owe her $14 more. Ultimately we returned our drinks to them and got the $50 back but I can not believe that this even happened. I will not be going back and would not trust any of the employees considering obviously something weird is going on.
terribleee service!! received a bug in my drink a couple days ago and went back to get a refund, the worker was extremely rude and wasn’t even a manager, she told us that “they do have bugs in the store” and “she wouldn’t eat there.” the manager came out and had terrible attitude.. so just make sure you check your drinks before paying and almost drinking bugs here!
I can't even complain about the food. I never got to order any. 03/25/24 was told by the guy on the intercom they wouldn't accept cash or serve me ice cream within the last hour of closing because they already cleaned up to leave. That pay raise must be nice to sit and do nothing. Will NOT be coming back or recommending ever
Absolutely the worst Sonic I've ever been to. Ordered at 8:40 pm. At 9:10 I asked the carhop where my order was. 15 minutes later he brought it out, I've cold with a watered down soda. I was assured that it was freshly prepared even though I could tell it wasn't. I then asked for my receipt. They couldn't find it until I showed them the credit card charge on my phone. When I finally got my receipt 15 minutes later, I told Jack, the assistant manager that my food was cold, he offered to remake the order and it would be "a few more minutes". I declined and asked for a refund. An hour waiting was more than enough. I threw the food I'm the trash and went next door to KFC. I was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes with HOT food. I recommend avoiding this place unless you want food that's been sitting in a counter long enough to be considered a health code violation. Next stop is Sonic corporate.
What is this place? You go inside to push a button and talk to someone like drive through.. they're right behind the wall with the door open and they can't hear anything I'm saying through the speaker. This place is awful. The workers are slow and don't want to work. This place is disgusting. The food is gross. Mostly the people that work here are just not good workers. Gross!!
Don’t go here. The burger was burnt, completely dried out and they couldn’t even refund my credit card. This was simply gross.

Most recently, today, my wife ordered the footlong dog with chili cheese tots and they put it in a bag standing up, so all the chili and cheese were clumped at the bottom. Wasn't offered any sauce and wanted to add onions which they forgot. I'm honestly giving up on these guys till they can get stuff corrected. I'd rather go across the street and get a Costco dog with the toppings I want rather than paying over inflated prices for below mediocre food. Such a HUGE disappointment to this community. "Footlong" Coney Dog with onions....where?! And the fact we spend $30+ dollars to be disappointed all the time is ridiculous!

We ended up with a regular double burger and onion rings. No combo! Clearly they dont know what they are doing here.

Additionally, all of the order machines lowest tip suggestion is 20% and the screen would not function to reduce or select cash tip. It is not the consumer’s role to supplement the income of your employees. Pay them a living wage. The food is unreasonably priced. $22 for a burger combo? Don’t match five guys prices if you cannot match their quality. The restaurant is filthy. The food took so long to come out it was cold and inedible slathered in mayonnaise. Sincerely, the mayonnaise layer applied to the burger was thicker than the beef patty. The burger made an audible squish noise when I picked it up before it was removed from the wrapper. Putrid. Save yourself from risking food poisoning. Dine somewhere else.
I placed a mobile order through the Sonic app, which showed my order would be ready at 8:18 PM. I arrived at the location at 8:20 PM, entered my stall number, and waited patiently. I understood the restaurant was busy, but after 20 minutes of waiting with no update, I pressed the red button to check on my order—no one ever answered. By 8:50 PM, I still had no food, so I flagged down an employee who was very polite and went to check on my order. He came back several minutes later with only one item out of my entire order. After I showed him my mobile receipt, he went back inside, then returned about 10 minutes later to tell me they’d have to completely remake my order, which would take another 15 minutes. At that point, it had been over 45 minutes past my order’s original ready time, and I still had no food—so I told him to cancel it and left. Unfortunately, the Sonic app does not allow cancellations after placing an order, and it’s been an absolute hassle trying to get a refund. Overall, this was the most frustrating drive-in experiences I’ve ever had—unorganized, slow, and unresponsive. The only positive part was the one employee who tried to help, but the system overall completely failed.
Have you ever been to a restaurant where they always mess up your order, you have to go into the restroom to get free water, the loudest sound in the place is the sound of your chewing, and you only see a person when they bring your food? Well this is that place, I have eaten here a couple times and every time it has been a bad experience. I absolutely hate eating here the only reason I do is because my girlfriend enjoys it. Trust me it is worth your time to just go to Costco and get a hot dog.

You could smell our food was going to have been cooked in dirty dark grease and sure enough it was. Id pull the plug on this franchise if I were Sonic. Disappointing after we waited so long to get one locally
