Flavor is amazing and prices are fair. Best grilled chicken tacos and burritos! A few times I got a mixed up order but I've been coming here for three years and it's only happened about 3 times total. Quality is always excellent!
Just went in for some sides for a birthday dinner for my girl. The service was excellent, the food was really good and I love the atmosphere and decor. Will definitely come back to try the whole menu because the prices are hard to beat.
My wife and I wanted Mexican food for our last night in Santa Rosa. Taqueria was the closest to us and also highly recommended by our ABNb host. We really didn’t want a big restaurant experience, and Taqueria was the perfect choice. Small place, nothing fancy. We kept it simple, tacos (grilled chicken) the order came out in just minutes. Came with chips and salsa. Delicious! Authentic, great flavor, fresh ingredients. Full menu if you desire more! Hidden gem! Enjoy!
Food is always very satisfying every time no matter what we order. Excellent taste is consistent. Love the Super Burritos. Food presentation is eye appealing. Good choice of drinks. Yum orchata.
Best Mexican restaurant by SRJC. Good quality ingredients and food is reasonably priced. I guess my only complaint is it gets quite busy at lunchtime, so finding parking and an available table can be challenging. But they are busy because the food is delicious so I can't fault them for that.
This restaurant is my new favorite!! I ordered Uber eats ,and was unable to get a driver. I called over and was told "of course I can pick up my order"!. When I arrived it looked like they'd closed for the night que me panicking because I'm starving. A nice gentleman opened the door for me and apologized for me waiting so long (he had no reason to he was fantastic). I just feel terrible the poor guy had to wait for us to come get our food. Now that we're home and have had a chance to finish our delicious food. I can now say I will be a life time customer everyone's dishes were perfect! Thank you again for the great service!
they are consistent with the same dishes, cooks and service. not like other places that constantly change. Best tacos and carne asada. I met the owner once and he told me Sunday was the busiest day but cooks wanted the day off and that’s why it’s closed on Sunday. Very nice boss!!
The competition has risen about 200 percent since this taqueria first opened back in the late 80's or very early 90's. The food is still to me, the best in town. Always glad I stopped by. My belly and my wallet come home fat.
Wow! What an awesome little restaurant! We decided to roll the dice and went there for dinner. I was totally blown away by the quality and the quantity of the food and the friendly service! The interior decore was fantastic with beautiful and colorful tables and chairs. The place was clean and spotless too! They serve some of the BEST Mexican food out West! I've eaten Mexican cuisine in Colorado, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, etc. But so far, this has been the restaurant that made me go WOW after my first bite! All the ingredients were fresh and cooked to perfection with passion! And the portion sizes were HUGE! They come on a 12 to 14 inch plate packed with food in every inch of that plate! My pictures really don't do justice as to the portion sizes and freshness of the food. I highly recommend the Chimichanga, Super Burrito, and the Carnita platter. The pork carnitas had the perfect crispness on the outside yet juicy tenderness inside -- which is quite a difficult feat. However, you can't go wrong with any of the menu items. The restaurant itself is pretty small. Ordering part was self-service by going up to the counter. Once your order is placed, then they bring the food to your table. The service was fast, friendly, and attentive. The nice young lady that served us.antioned that they have been there since 1986. She is the granddaughter of the founder of this restaurant. I've visited Santa Rosa off and on for many years and never knew about this place -- quite shamefully. This is a must visit restaurant. I know this is my new favorite Mexican restaurant and I plan to dine here every time I'm in Santa Rosa!
You know the food is good when their Birria is on point homie!! This place’s flavor was delicious!! I could eat a whole plate of the queso birria!!! Yummm. A little difficult to pull into the parking lot when you coming from the wrong direction, but if you look at the maps and get it right, you will be ok. My kiddo got a bean, rice and cheese burrito, we got a taco salad (the shell wasn’t the tastiest tho and there could have been more toppings) and a super burrito. Everything was pretty good, but the queso birria is what I’ll be coming back for!!! Mmmmm.
I really enjoyed the 2-enchilada combo I got. Non-spill packaging, large portions, flavorful rice & beans. I like that they offer ground beef enchiladas too - they probably aren't traditional, but I love em. Not a huge fan of their free chips, but good salsa. My partner got the carne asada super burrito and said it was really good. We'll definitely be back soon.
Amazing food and everyone is always nice. I’ve been returning back here between classes and it’s perfect to finish your day with an amazing meal. They speak both English and Spanish so don’t worry if you’re not sure about asking questions and suggestions.
I lived nearby and was a regular for years. Now that I’ve moved 10 miles away, I still make the drive when I can. I love the enchilada/taco or enchilada/tamale combos. The food is fresh, well seasoned and well prepared and the salsa is excellent.
Always delicious and consistent mexican cuisine. The ground beef enchilada, with the Chile relleno was very satisfying.
Macho burrito with pork was very good. Lots of locals eat here so it must be good. They have six picnic tables outside to eat at in this gorgeous California weather. My wife enjoyed her enchilada and taco. They serve large portions, so come hungry!
Delicious food the salsa is a must to take some home with a bag of chips. I enjoy that they have comination plates of your choice of 1, 2, or 3 items others places dont offer this. For take out if you get crunchy tacos ask flr the meat packed separately so there not soggy.
Just amazing food and owners/staff. Visiting from Philadelphia and was highly recommended by family. Will be back again!

Imagine food authentic atmosphere kind friends employees clean and professional service
So so delicious! I moved here about 9 months ago and this has been my go to spot ever since. Super friendly service and GREAT burritos (and i’m quite picky). I recommend their shredded chicken, lots of flavor!
Great Mexican food here. It's my go to place in SR.
Pretty good food for a first time experience. Al pastor was delicious, only downside is the sauce for the chips was minimal and not too flavorful but not enough to dock a star. The meal in general was great.
The carne asada had a nice char, the tortillas were soft but sturdy, and the salsas offered a good mix of mild and spicy. It’s a solid spot for a satisfying and hassle-free taco meal when you want authentic, no-frills Mexican food.
The food was amazing!! i went with my husband and our baby a weekend ago and omg!! the food is so good, and tastes authentic. the food was also very reasonably priced. I got a Mar y Tierra burrito and my husband got the Chilaquiles with birria and they were so good. the food portion is a lot , so it is definitely worth it. With drinks and all, we spent about 52$
We love the Taqueria de Santa Rosa. Any chance we get, we grab a table outside and share a meal. The food is fantastic and always a lot of it for a great price. There is always plenty of food to take home with us when we leave. The owners and staff are wonderful too. Because they are, we gladly spend our dollars with them. We highly recommend you share a meal there too. When a restaurant has excellent food, personable staff, and owners dedicated to making the best dining experience for their customers, it is the perfect place to share a meal with those you love!

Pretty decent Mexican food and one of the few places actually open on a Monday ! If you're ridiculously hungry get the large quesadilla...pretty sure it's enough to feed a small family ! Overall I really do like this place, my only little complaint is the taco shells..they seem thin for the amount of meat they fill them with.. they always seem to break sort of like the ones you buy at the store but the meat is so good that it's a small issue easy to ignore and use the pieces to scoop it all up.
The food is really good. The chips and salsa are one of the best, if you run out of either you need to ask for more, they'll gladly bring it to you. They need a new point of sale software because ordering takes about 5 minutes for one person, considerably longer if you have multiple people in your party.
I went in by myself and ordered a 2 enchilada combo plate. I went to sit down and literally in 2 minutes, the plate was served and the tortillas chips and salsa were given. 2 minutes! And it wasn't slow in there, either. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because after tips, I ended up spending $16.70 on one plate that I feel wasn't worth the money. They give pretty small amounts. I left feeling unsatisfied with the amount I ate (and I ate it all, including the chips).
Most of the staff is super friendly. Food is always great! I rated four stars because there is one specific waitress who seems to get our order wrong every time and then blames us and doesn’t offer to correct. For example, today we ordered burritos “sin crema” (sour cream) and when we told her, she claimed we didn’t specify it when we ordered, although my husband ALWAYS specifies it. She dropped the plates on our table and walked away. This is not good customer service. Our family has been coming here for over 30 years. My mom was good friends with the original owners.
I enjoyed Macho Burrito with Ground Beef and no enchilada sauce. Excellent salsa. They have outdoor dining at patio tables that are covered. Parking is not great so if you arrive at a popular time expect to be waiting.
Had not been here in a while. Place was clean. Service was quick and efficient. Food was very good. My son loved his burrito. Said it was big and the carne asada was good. And plenty of it. My shrimp cocktails was huge and fresh.
Great food! Service was good. They had a burrito together for me pretty quick. I did a custom burrito. They had no problem with that.

Food was good, unfortunately customer service was really poor. Be aware of the different prices they have on their paper menu, which is different from the ones they have on the screens. We wanted to dine in, so as one does we asked for a paper menu that we reviewed at our table. Then we go to order at the counter (like they require you to do), as I go to pay I notice that the total was basically double of what we saw in the paper menu, so we showed them the menu and asked why that was the total, and they just said “oh sorry those are the old prices, we forgot to change the paper menus”. It felt like a scam, cause later on she saw another client grabbing the menu I left on the counter and didn’t say anything to that client about the one SHE told me was “an old/wrong menu”. She didn’t even try to make it right, just said “sorry, sorry”, instead of offering to match the price from the paper menu (like an honest business would have done), or at least make the move of offering us a $5 discount or something to make up for their mistake… I’d give 0 to customer service if I could. This truly felt like a trick the often do, but regardless from that the staff was incredibly unwelcoming even before this. Just for reference, we are not talking about a few extra dollars, we are talking about a 12.99 dish that became like 19, so multiplied by 2 people that ended up being a big unacceptable difference. Since it was late, we ended up still eating there and the food was good, dishes were big (and the place is nice), but probably would never go back because of the overall poor service.
Food is very good I must say! The tacos al pastor that I order were really tasty, and well made. No complains about the food quality, whatsoever. Nonetheless, in respects to the service, the lady who took my to go-order gave me 3 tacos, instead of 4 tacos as I clearly told her! I ended up finding out that I got only 3 tacos, latter after I got home! What a let down! Also, she seem a bit rude and acted as like she didn't wanted to be there. Bottom line is that they offer great food but their service is just awful! That's why I accredited them to only 2 stars, only if the service would of have been better, they would of surely had gotten 5 stars out of me.
I’d like to say the food is good. We’ve been here once before. But today I got in around 5 PM. I ordered. And then others ordered behind me. There was no one ordering in front of me. I sat down with my soda. Drink my soda and waited for chips. at 5:23 or 524. I approached the counter and waited. And the waitress that had taken my order look like she was getting ready to leave. They walking out of the back. I asked her if my food was ready. I had limited amount of time I needed to leave . So I could walk to the mechanic shop about 10 to 15 minutes away and they close at six. I needed time to settle my bill there. She asked the other waitresses and then looked like she was asking the cook. And at that point, I just needed to leave. I couldn’t wait anymore. I had already paid for the food. so I left. That just gives them my dinner money. So my recommendation. As if you’re in a hurry, don’t go. Unless maybe you call it in. I had 45 minutes. They weren’t that busy. But maybe they had a lot of to goes getting done. The gentleman in the corner who came after me had his food before I did plus chips and salsa before I did. And obviously I didn’t get anything. So. The end of this is don’t go unless you have time. The food the only time Wife and I had gone there. He’s very good. The atmosphere when we went was very nice. They had the football games playing. And Wife and I sat in front of the windows. Which was very nice. Area to sit. Again if you’re in a hurry, don’t go here.
I am so disappointed in our favorite taqueria. We have been loyal customers and frequently order from them for 18years. However Last night my husband tried to call in his order to pick up. He was put on hold for almost 10 MINS! Finally gave up and just drove over to order and wait for dinner to go. The employee brought him a bag and home he went. Once home opened the bag to find NOT OUR ORDER! Called..was rudely spoken too and then asked for a refund in which we did not recieve either! Food in the trash. No dinner and our $25+ down the drain. Never again will we recommend, suggest to friends or eat there again. Makes me sad. Was once a great place to eat but now the quality and customer service isnt worth the trouble.
We were really disappointed this place has been in Santa Rosa ca since I was a little girl so over 25 years maybe not the same name but this has always been the best Mexican restaurant in Santa Rosa. I came here the other day with my baby and my husband to order 6 tacos and beans and rice over $60 and to bite into our tacos we couldn’t even enjoy our food. The tacos were over flow with chili but this chili was so hot it left such a harsh and disgusting taste in my mouth. So about 5 tacos went to waste. The chili is super hot it hurts your mouth. Like I said for the price we paid I was super disappointed and I will never return
Food and service was garbage they are inconsiderate and do things half a**. Had to return my burrito 2 times. Would not recommend this place at all. Worst money ever spent
Terrible Terrible food....20 years ago was really good...now is very disappointing...a month ago I went to this so called mexican restaurant I ordered a carne de lengua burrito and it sucked...poor service too...Shame shame shame.
As a black man I never play the race card but they stood there watching me at the register. Took someone else’s order, and the only time I was helped is when the lady threw my burrito on the table and made sure with her coworker that I paid for the food after an 11 hour shift this is such a big let down. First and Last visit
The staff is friendly and the restaurant is very cute , BUT …. The tacos are horrible . No meat at all !!! I ordered a shrimp taco and it came with one minuscule shrimp inside . The beef tacos were equally terrible . The cook filled the bottom of the taco with a bean paste mixed with a trace of meat and that was it . Even the cheapest Taco Bell taco (and those are pretty bad) has twice as much protein than this. I have not tried the other dishes so I can’t talk about those. But for tacos …. This is a no go !
Had the food plenty of times great food however I decided to Order two super burritos for me and my dad waited a hour for them to never show up and then get texted by my Dasher who works there because they make all the deliveries Basically, she was trying to act like someone else had already came and picked up the order. I tried calling the Taqueria‘s number over five times never got an answer. Place is a scam don’t order online
Literally the worst super burrito I have ever received! Ordered the doordash, they do their own delivery so it just switches over to their delivery company. Company. It doesn't close out the doordash delivery so if they mess something up you don't get your money back unless you call doordash and that takes a long time to go through all of that. And I also didn't receive my whole order.
Worst place ever, I ordered Huevos Rancheros this is what I get, without salsa either when I paid for extra chips and extra salsa, the bags of chips had literally 4 chips and the salsa less that an half. I had to drive to return the order because on the phone they said they can't do anything. I show them what I had and what I paid and their excuse was, sorry the owner never changed the menu. So we sent what we thought you wanted.

Full disclosure, this post is 10 whole months since the incident occured and despite how absolutely appalled i was and disrespectful the trestment from staff was i decided against a rage post at the time. With time to reflect, i feel i owe it to the community to share my experience. I ordered 2 items for takeout and rode the city bus from my house on russell and venture and walked my order back to my the fathers home at the new 4 story houses on Mendocino ave just past Kaiser hospital. So at no time did myself or anyone other than the restaurant have access to my food order. Among the 2 items, i ordered a chimichanga which I had ordered twice before at the restaurant with no issues. Unfortunately this time when I got back with my order it seemed as if it was a fajita order because it was loaded with red and green peppers and onions none of which were part of the chimichanga ingredients. So because of this I was forced to sift through it by hand to remove the onions and peppers in order to eat what was left. Upon doing this I discovered a clear colored push pin in my food. Upon my shock I immediately called the restaurant, took pictures of the item and asked them how to resolve this. The employee did not believe a word I said and demanded I returned to the store with my food. Because at that time the bus was no longer running, I had no other choice than to take a $17 Uber back to the restaurant before they closed. Any solution other than that was not acceptable by the restaurant staff. Upon returning to the store I showed the cashier the food she then proceeded to tell me they don't have those type of push pins in their store and that I was no longer welcome to the restaurant and if I didn't leave then immediately she would call the police and have me trespassed. Not only was this incredibly rude, it was accusatory and threatening as well. I'm not the kind of person who would make something like this up nor would I waste my time going through all that especially considering it was the night of game 1 of the world series. So I left the restaurant walked home to watch the Yankees lose feeling humgry, humiliated and completely blown away that a local business would treat me with such disregard. In hindsight maybe I should have let them call the police, get a lawyer and file a lawsuit but the embarrassment of their treatment made me want to forget it ever even happened. But it did and I want everyone to know how this restaurant employees treats their customers. This was my third time i went there and i would have been a regular customer and probably gone there once a week but I will never ever go there again under any circumstances, neither should you.
Whatever you do. Don't go off the price of the menu online. They false advertise on the price of the burritos, so I can only imagine what else their false advertising. Also, their burritos don't come with cheese, and they tried to charge me $4 for a slice of cheese on a burrito. And I ordered a burrito with no beans in it, and asked for just a little bit of extra meat in place of the beans and they charged $6 for a spoonful of carniasada, if you like honesty and integrity in the people that make your food. This is not the place I would recommend. And, once again, you can't go by the price online. I'm pretty sure they just make up pricing As they're going along with the order.
