Opinions de The Goose & Fern Santa Rosa
This place is a personality and has the food to back it up. The Bangers and Mash are quite good! I loved this dish here. The mustard…. Oh mi dios!! I want to see someone take a spoonful of this mustard, there should be a prize hhh. I’d recommend adding a dollop of garlic butter to the mash. 👍🏼
So glad I stumbled upon this hidden gem! Came here with friends during a break the other day and felt spoiled with the veg loaded dishes. Fisherman's was cooked perfectly and my dish had lots of complex flavor. Highly recommend as a lunch spot or for beer with buds! They have events here and a bar too. Could be great for a date or night out with friends. Atmosphere definitely transports you to the UK!
I am obsessed with this place. Great pours of Guinness with one of the best pub food meals I’ve ever had. I’ve had their bangers & mash, oxtail soup, fish & chips… everything is ridiculously delicious and cooked with heart & intention. Top it all off with just genuinely nice folks behind and in front of the bar.
This is a cute small pub, with great decor and food. The bar bites are all good. Fish and chips is arguably one of the best in the county! They have a small but nice wine and beer selection, and the bartender was great. It was a quiet night when we went but it was a nice and relaxed atmosphere. They have a great trivia night on Sundays at 7:30, with good prizes!! Definitely worth a stop in for some trivia.
Goose & Fern is one of those places I wished I was able to visit more often. Don't let the fact that its a bar fool you, the food is delicious and I've brought my toddler here for early dinners multiple times. This is one of my favorite places to get Fish and Chips. Fries appear to be handcut and the pieces of fish are large and the cod in the fish is plentiful and fresh tasting. They offer two types of sauce to pair with the fish a traditional tartar sauce and curry sauce. Both are good. The curry is light and on the sweeter side. Ploughman's Platter - If you are looking for a cold plate with a good helping of cheese this is the dish for you. The chunks of cheddar and blue cheese are plentiful. Salad is well dressed and the pickled vege is plentiful and cuts the cheese very well. Guinness Braised Beef - This small pie is mighty in its delivery. The beef is plentiful and flavorful. Sauce is on the saltier side. One of the best desserts you will have is the Sticky Toffee Pudding at Goose & Fern. It takes 15 minutes to prepare. Comes out warm and moist with a caramel sauce on top. Highly recommend. I had their Posset which was the first time I had it. It was Lemon with a Blackcurrent jam on top. Refreshing and cool, great dessert for the summer.
Traditional English Fare! Food made from scratch and super tasty! Delicious meal comes complete with a friendly bartender. Authentic all the way! Cheers
Best fish & chips! We were so impressed with the portion size and delicious battered fish. The beer was also yummy. The bread pudding had lovely flavors but was dead dry. More like lightly toasted seasoned bread with yummy apple and tiny bit of like a toffee sauce. It was almost really good but missed the mark with that bone dry bread. Really good service and easy parking.
A surprising find in Santa Rosa - the food was very nice and very Irish. Good selection of beer also. Check out the happy hour times. The braised beef and fish and chips were out favorite. An unusually cozy atmosphere given the location.
Wow, just wow! This is the most authentic British pub I have ever been to in the states. The owner took the time to explain all sorts of things to us; different types of beers, foods, even have several recommendations on where to go during our next trip to London. Great vibe, amazing food and even better people. You NEED to stop in for a pint or meal.
Cozy British‑style pub with great pub fare like fish and chips, bangers & mash, and hearty pie.
The service was the first thing we noticed that was amazing at Goose and Fern. Our waitress was so kind and was very accommodating to one of our party's picky eating. The ambiance makes you feel like you're in a real hole in the wall, a hidden gem. It transports you to a fun little pub in England! Lastly, the food was amazing!! I tried the Bangers and Mash; and my oh, my it was amazing!! I thought it wasn't going to be enough food, but I could barely finish it! I ended up having a banger (sausage for those who don't know) left over!
Great place with excellent pub grub. In fact, I’m not at all doing the quality justice by saying grub. One of the best shepherds pie I’ve ever had. Side salad delicious and fresh with tasty light dressing. Waitress super nice and on the spot

My fair lady and I went on a Sunday night - It was packed for trivia but we found ourselves a nook. Charming, simple interior that felt quite cozy. Fish and chips were superlative! Tasted just like they did when I visited England. Crispy, light crust with the cod cooked to the absolute perfect temperature - Fish still tender and succulent, not rubbery and dry. The cottage pie was so savory my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Well spiced, the meat and veggies stewed to perfection - a meaty molasses like treat. Topped with slightly browned mashed potatoes. Will be back again and again whenever I need a taste of the Isles.
We ate here for lunch the day after Thanksgivng. The place was lively and had a wonderful cozy ambiance, with dark walls, seasonal decor and candles. Hardworking staff ensured great service! Our party of 6 enjoyed everything ordered off the menu - they clearly know what they're doing and how to make every item a standout dish. We recommend the sausage roll, oxtail soup, fried fish sando, burger and fish and chips. We can't wait to go back!
Very friendly and welcoming environment. I started with a perfectly poured Guinness that was absolutely delicious. I had the Ox tail soup and it comes with a grilled cheese. The meat was so tender and flavorful, the broth was bangin! So much flavor.. the grilled cheese was legit perfect and tasted even better once dipped in the broth.. Oh and they have a dartboard! First time here and I’ll for sure be coming back.
Great place. We ordered the Guinness braised beef and fish and chips. The beef was hearty and exploding with savory beefy goodness. The fish and chips featured a gigantic piece of tender, delicious cod in a crispy beer batter. Both dishes were great and far exceeded our expectations.
Stopped by on a Friday evening, and the establishment was lively without feeling too crowded or noisy. Great selection of local beers and wines, I particularly enjoyed the depth of the rotating tap list which had a fantastic cider as well as a smoked rye ale from the UK. We had a great time having a couple drinks and catching up, the food menu looked great as well.
Such a wonderful, cozy, and welcoming vibe! I've tried most things on the menu and although this is a British pub, my favorite is the giant Sonoma-style salad with mixed greens, walnuts, apples and cheese. I added two soft-boiled eggs for extra protein. These folks are such fun and I very much recommend the place!

Stopped in while visiting the area because I have been craving a proper scotch egg and came away very happy with everything. We split the scotch egg, the sausage roll, and the fish and chips with curry sauce and we finished everything on our plates. The beer and cider selection was good and the house cider and the currant spritzer were both excellent and we are taking the currant spritzer idea home since neither of us live in the area. Our server was great and the place felt very much like one expected from a pub. On the off chance I am back in the area again, I will definitely stop by.

Good English food with UK beers. Limited bar, mostly beet and wine. Menu is unique and authentic. Also had a glass of Pliny the Younger. Put this restaurant/ pub on your radar.
The rotating pulls were amazing, the black lager in particular, but I have been here before and the food was so much better before. I rarely give poor reviews, as I would rather remain silent than speak poorly, but the chips were little rocks and one of the two fish, of the fish and chips, were inedible. I don't know if they have new leadership in the kitchen but...
