I love Nathan’s customer services! He’s always nice and helpful!

Nathan at this Rubios gave some of the best customer service we have received in a long time! He made my husband feel welcome by talking about classic cars. What a great employee!!!! Definitely made our lunch experience awesome!

I've been going to Rubio's for years. The only thing that I can say is the burritos have gotten smaller and the prices have gotten bigger. But the food is good. And there's one thing I could never understand they don't have big sliced up hot carrots, like other taco shops. 🤷

My husband and daughter, 1 yr old, enjoyed lunch here. Place was clean. Food smelled great. We had the coastal trio (I highly recommend 👌) and Mahi burrito 🌯 👌 also Fantastic. Staff was very friendly and even played a little with our daughter as we cashed out. Very fresh taste and the price was spot on. We are so fully and happy. Keep up the great work! Also, I really love how clean the high chairs were!!! Thank you! Sorry no photo, we were so hungry lol good news is nothing was left!!

To expensive for me ..didn't see much Lobster in burrito Not for me

I made a mistake in how I asked for my order and ended up ordering burritos with contents that I did not want on the burrito. Daniela helped me get the order correct and fix the mistake I had made myself. Very amazing staff all around as the cooks were also quick and courteous. Thank you so much for such an amazing experience along with the delicious food!

Nathan and Michelle were great and the manager was hands on helping the staff and was also very friendly. We liked it so much we went 4 times I'm the same week. My personal favorites were the keto fish tacos with cauliflower rice and also the chopped salads.

Haven't been to Rubio's in several years. Their menu has changed and the prices reflect it. But, the selections all look really enticing and I plan on going back a lot to sample them. On this visit, I went with the classic Fish Taco Especial plate with black beans and citrus rice, and it was superb. The ambience is a bit sterile, and our cashier was robotic and unenthused, but since we got our order to go, it didn't really matter.

Got the Taco Trio - 2 grilled chicken and 1 steak taco with guacamole and cilantro/ onion. Didn't want the cheese and salsa and all of that. Chicken was perfectly cooked and so was the Steak. Quite a good loaded amount of meat on the tacos, and a generous amount of guacamole as well. Added some mild and spicy salsa and it was beautiful. Salsa was definitely needed because it tasted a little plain on its own. Definitely like the Chicken Tacos more. Corn tortillas were also really fresh. Husband got the Burrito Especial with Steak Cauliflower Rice. I tried it and it was amazing! So so so flavorful! Very generous amount of cauliflower rice inside as well. No salsa or any sauce needed here at all. Everything was so good on its own. Friend also got a taco trio with the shrimp and mahi mahi version. He also enjoyed and finished it all up real quick!

Let me tell you something. I did NOT like the food but that’s on me because I decided to try their new “island breeze” burrito and man it was not it. Like someone tell the chef who concocted this burrito up in corporate to not do that again. It had like a Tajin pineapple sauce which got over powered by the wasabi lime crema??? Idk what that even is but it wasn’t it. Anyways the service was quick and your basic average order at the cashier situation experience. I did notice a lot of…I’m not sure how to say it but a certain demographic eats here a lot which maybe explains why these “exotic” island vibe burrito would appeal to them but not to me. They loose a star for that on the atmosphere and a star on the food because of the atrocity corporate came up with.

This Rubios is very hit and miss for food quality. Sometimes, the food is on point, fresh and delicious. Other times (like last night), the fish is soggy, and chicken is cold. The Mexican street corn only comes in one size container, which used to be about 3/4 full. The last couple of times I ordered it, it was only about 1/4 full... no exaggeration. So at this Rubios, I never know what to expect. I think for the price, they could do a little better.

Online order wasn’t called out so I waited extra time for no good reason

Definitely busy on Taco Tuesday! There was a constant line which moved pretty quickly, good amount of staff in kitchen and the cashiers even helped with orders when the line would die down a bit. The staff were friendly, timely, and on top of wiping down the salsa bar, counter tops, and tables. They were also working on call in orders and door dash orders. There were at least 8 people ahead of us and food was out in less than 15 minutes! The fish tacos were good sized chunks of fish that came out hot, fresh, crispy, loaded with cabbage, and not overly drizzled with the white sauce -hit the spot! They offer in and out side seating, with low and high tables, shade umbrellas for outside and air-conditioning inside.

I am a fan of the Grilled Chicken Gourmet Tacos, The Original Fish Tacos. Stepped out today and tried the Californina Burrito from Rubios, unfortunately there’s nothing special about the burrito. I am going to leave a four star because their chips always taste stale or from yesterday’s batch, If I am being served a side of chips they gotta taste better. Salsa bar is closed so they charged me $1.00!for pico, the store here in Santee has a patio with a good amount of outside seating. A couple of the guys here working behind the counter didnt wear aprons and name tags, so thats kinda weird. Restaurant appears to be clean and inviting. Will definitely come back, eventually as I have not been here since Covid started.

Rubio's always gets it right! The chicken quesadilla, taco, and salsa were spot on, as always. The portions are a bit less at times (less chicken in the taco, guacamole, sour cream, etc.) but it's still worth it.

The lady with the dog in the establishment was awful to watch while eating. She helped herself with condiments. She gave her dog water in the establishment. She touched all the condiments severing utensils. I couldn't enjoy my meal until she was gone. I was glad I took all my sauce I needed before her.

I received a reply to this review...asking me to submit yet another feedback form which would make 4 times I am filling out the forms. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE LEAVING THE STORE OR GET SCREWED (I have email documentation...) You just can't trust that you will be charged correctly at this location and if you find (after you bring lunch back for the whole office) that you were overcharged...good luck getting reimbursed. It has taken exactly 4 months of emails and understanding on our part and still this has not been made right. I emailed and even spoke with this customer service rep (Jason Leslie) who finally called our office approximately a month after the following message from customer support...he said he was going to send us gift cards for 5 meals in the mail as we (the company I work for) were overcharged for fish tacos on a Friday. We were charged an additional $4 for the classic fish tacos on a fish Friday-they were supposed to be $1 each ($20 overcharged.) He never made it right. So we were cheated and then lied to. I am not usually one to write a bad review...though you may see a few out of the many. I have updated reviews after issues were finally made right...in this case it is well deserved. Poor customer service. Poor communication skills. Poor leadership. Poor management. Poor follow up. Poor choice in having this person head up customer feedback. Last night 04-23-24 at the Santee location, I ordered a side of citrus rice with my tacos for an additional price of $3.79 plus tax, just for the rice. I was extremely surprised to see how small the side of rice was. Look at this photo and you can compare it to their salsa cup next to it. That's ridiculous, and such a rip-off! Shame on you, Rubio's...

When I reported the issue over the phone the manager asked if I would like them to remake it for me. I was kind of psyched out so I just asked for a refund-the manager told me I had to come all the way back to the restaurant to process the refund and didn’t offer any further compensation, not even a gift card. While mistakes do happen I have unfortunately lost my trust in this Rubio’s location and don’t see myself returning. If you’re making food for someone you need to be more careful.
