Really great breakfast/brunch spot. The Eggs Benedict was stellar. Coffee is self service and really good! Parking is not far off, quick 2min walk.
Everything was sooo good! The service was great, the vibe is great. SO GLAD we stopped here. It has a great home feel and you can tell the staff work really well together. 10/10!
Cute small town vibes. Our waitress was very nice. Our food was fantastic. I got the hash and eggs. I was expecting your typical corned beef hash and was pleasantly surprised when I received real pieces of corned beef in hash browns. I am a condiment queen and this tasted so good I don’t even touch the ketchup. We will be back in January for sure.
I love this cafe for so many reasons! Its very comfortable, great service and the breakfast and lunch menus give a great variety to chose from. The prices are reasonable. Coffee is great and the muffins, cookies and some breads are freshly baked! You cant possibly go wrong by eating here!
Blue Moon Cafe is my favorite restaurant in the Adirondacks. It has the best food in Saranac Lake. They cook fresh bread every day, offer outstanding breakfast and lunch, in particular their homemade corned beef hash and fresh Reuben sandwiches. Soups of the day are always worth checking out. Plus their daily specials. And Rita is the best server!
Have only gone here for breakfast so can’t speak for lunch, but this place is a must try!! Never disappoints. I always go for the Hash and Eggs meal but everything on the menu looks spectacular. Servers are friendly and helpful, atmosphere is great, and the coffee is self serve so you can make it to your liking. Overall a great experience, would highly recommend.
Great family bistro that prepares handcrafted nutritious meals. Breakfast was very satisfying, hot and served in timely manner. All bread goods are prepared on the house. We have received excellent service and scrumptious meal. Thank you the culinary team and wonderful hostesses for their hospitality 🇱🇷🇫🇷🇵🇱🇨🇦
What a GEM!! Blue Moon is great. If you are looking for great food at a place that feels like the people really care - you gotta try Blue Moon. We went once for breakfast while on a short stay in Saranac Lake. If you are looking for the usual eggs, bacon, pancakes and toast, they have it, but boy that’s just the start. The breakfast menu is so diverse and unique it is hard to choose. I had corned beef hash, fried eggs and a home made English muffin. It was delicious!! The eggs were perfect (over easy) and the hash was a nice even mix of beef and potatoes. My wife had eggs, bacon, home fries and a thick slice of wheat toast (it also looked home made). Any no worry - you can tell the home fries were fresh made, kinda rustic style. I would go back in a minute if we ever come back to the area.
Best food and best service and people!!! I had the Mediterranean scrambled eggs which was awesome and so full!!! Very tasty!! It’s worth the money as huge quantity is given. My husband had the Scottish omelet without the meat which was very fluffy and again soooo good!! We also had the coffee again we’ll done n brewed! Must try cookie very crumbly and buttery!!! The service was great, staff here are very nice! We came here for our trip and the locals are very friendly.
Absolutely the best service, thank you to our waiter, I wish I remembered his name! In addition to our breakfast we had a keylime shortbread- so good! I'm not a coffee drinker but the kids loved the coffee bar setup where you can refill your own mug and add cream, sugar, etc. Very clever idea. The cafe itself is adorably rustic and filled with photos from local photographers which are lovely to view. Food was good and well portioned. None of us finished our plates and we all appreciated the unique selection - not just basic breakfast items. Definitely recommend.
I give 4 stars because I went on the weekend once, when it was packed, and they forgot the fried potatoes with my order. Which I understand because it was busy. So I waited for my server to come near, so I could wave her down. I told her I didn’t receive the entire meal, and she said “so do you want the potatoes too?”… yes, that’s what I am paying for. She didn’t even say sorry or anything, and acted kind of annoyed because I asked for what I’m paying for. Also for some reason, a coffee and an eggs Benedict meal was almost $30 minus tip. ***But I went during a weekday. When business was kind of slow. And it was great! I got pancakes, eggs, bacon, potatoes, with a lower Lox on an everything bagel, for $30 including tip. (A lot more food for the same price as before). I am unsure why it’s so expensive (too much) on the weekend, but perfect price during a weekday..?
I came here for breakfast for both days I stayed in town. The place gets busy right as it opens at 7am, but they always have space at the counter. I got the Florentine scramble with lox for day 1, and the Charleston omelette from their daily menu on day 2. Both were excellent! The coffee was self-serve and unlimited, which is always appreciated. The staff were always busy but friendly so make sure to wave them over when you need something.
Excellent service and atmosphere. Coffee was amazing, several flavours/roasts. Food was good (homemade bread). Pancakes were a little heavy for my taste, would like to try something different when I return. Bought a raspberry coconut key lime pie bar to go and it was very good although a little too sweet if you are eating the whole thing..
The food here was outstanding. Breakfast ranged from omelets to breakfast sandwiches, pastries and coffee. We arrived and waited outside before the restaurant opened for breakfast. That stated, the reason they did not get five stars is because the tables were not cleaned and the bathroom looked like it needed a bit of cleaning too. You would imagine everything would be spotless at the start of the day.
The rating is based upon poor service. The food was fine. We were set at a table by the door with about 12-14 others in the restaurant. I had to flag the waitress for everything although she walked by several times. Finally I went to the counter to get water, which was never refilled by the waitress. So with other options I wouldn’t return. Food being nothing to brag about I don’t have a desire to.
Don’t go here if you have anywhere else to be for the rest of the day. The service was absurdly, almost laughably slow. We ordered breakfast sandwiches to go and it took 40 minutes. 9 employees, plus the owner, seemed to be in no kind of hurry to get anything done. The employees were eating breakfast behind the counter while customers’ orders sat undelivered in the service window. I imagine if we’d signed up for the 30-minute wait for the table, we’d have been there for the rest of time. Hard pass for a re-visit.
1-hour wait time to get this breakfast and a 40-minute wait to get seated. When I asked why it takes so long to make an omelette, the only answer I got was, ‘We have only two people cooking.’ With all due respect, it’s not my problem that you don’t have enough staff to serve clients efficiently. You need to inform people in advance that the wait time for breakfast is 1 hour. The worst part is that the restaurant doesn’t seem to think it’s a problem and doesn’t feel apologetic at all. I don’t recommend it—unless you have 2 hours to spare for breakfast
