Selva Grill Downtown Sarasota

We had an incredible meal at Selva downtown. The restaurant is small with many tables, but it's a beautiful space. Our server was incredible, I wish I could remember her name because she truly enhanced our experience. The food was just amazing. The ceviche was a highlight, and don't leave without trying their Pot de Creme. Not only does the food taste great, but the presentation of all the dishes are spectacular. Highly recommend either location; but this one is very convenient to downtown Sarasota, and nice to walk around before or after dinner.

We had a wonderful experience at Selva! The food was delicious and the service by Tiffany was even better. She was the perfect host: knowledgeable, calm, attentive, kind, and friendly. She gave us great guidance. Tiffany was on top of it! From cocktails to starters, to main courses and dessert. The experience was top-notch. Thank you, Tiffany!

A simply Amazing dining experience! The Caesar salad is indescribable. Not what you would ever envision as a salad, but such a well-conceived, unusual dish. I'm not a gigantic salad eater and I am so glad I ordered this. Everything was prepared to the highest standards. I don't even like lamb and really enjoyed the taste I had from a friend's plate. Service was incredibly gracious and attentive. So worth the trip downtown!

What a great restaurant! The service was superb andthe food was impeccably prepared and presented. The rack of lamb was the best we have ever had.It exceeded our expectations. It was a wonderful dining experience. Alexis, our waitress was outstanding. She guided us through the menu and everything she suggested was fantastic. We will definitely be coming back again. You can’t go wrong by dining there, definitely worth five stars.

We celebrated my friend’s birthday here recently, and I couldn’t have been more impressed. From the moment we arrived, everything felt just right—the food was delicious, the atmosphere inviting, and the service truly exceptional. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but every detail made it worth every penny. What really stood out was the care and thoughtfulness of the staff. At the end of the evening, we asked if they could bring out a cake for the birthday girl. Not only did they surprise us with a beautiful cake and candle, but they also brought a single red rose. It was deeply touching and made the night unforgettable. Highly recommend for special occasions or just a memorable night out. They know how to make you feel celebrated

I have always appreciated Selva downtown. Its a great dining experience and one of my favorites. I only have 4 stars for food and atmosphere because really very little has changed. Short ribs are fantastic, drinks are great. But after 3.5 years I already know what's going to be on the menu. I already know what my favorites are. I did get a tiger shrimp flatbread as an appetizer my last visit, as it was a special. It was really good but nothing exciting. There is something to say about consistency. But, for the price I would like to see maybe some seasonal menu changes or maybe some more daring flavors from what I already know is a very capable kitchen. Show us some excitement! I prefer the downtown location more than the UTC location. Even though I live only a few minutes away from UTC.

Tonight was my 71st birthday and my wife asked me where I wanted to go to eat for my special occasion. I chose Selva having been here three times before and loved each experience. Tonight was probably the best experience to date. Our close friends joined us making us a party of four. We ordered the ceviche as an appetizer, which was wonderful, although the portion was quite small. we also ordered the empanadas which were so flavorful and amazing. For the main course, I had the seafood paella, my wife had the short ribs, and our two friends ordered the lamb chops and chicken breast respectively. Everything we had was so flavorful, well prepared, and although this restaurant isn’t the cheapest in the neighborhood, the quality of food and preparation makes it a very good value. To finish off this review, I will say that tonight we probably had the best server of all the times we have been here. Our server, Eric was warm, extremely professional, engaging, and was there at our table throughout the evening both when we needed him, and continually paying attention in a stealthy manner seeing that that our water glasses were refilled and that we had everything we needed as a night progressed. It truly was a memorable birthday dinner. I absolutely love this restaurant! .

Will return for service and food, which we've Wild ceviche Rib spring roll Crab cake Parihuela Chick spring roll All are delicious, especially the crab cake, and appetizingly presented. The Oxford Landing and Broadbent are similar in taste and yummy. The Schott Zwiesel glasses have water stains. The on-the-house cancha corn kennels, plantain, and green sauce are delicious: thank you. We pass by this Peruvian restaurant many times and have no desire to go in because it looks dark. And it's dark. Fake orchid in the bathroom. Our server is a middle-aged lady who's the best, appears and disappears on the dot.

We had the ceviche trio and short rib spring roles as appetizers - these items were by far our favorite part of the meal! For our entrees we had the seafood paella and New York strip steak. Both were a good portion. The paella had a good mix of seafood and flavor. The steak was nothing spectacular but decent. The service was good and atmosphere was enjoyable. We were outside and it was a little chilly but the heat lamps made it comfortable. I highly recommend making a reservation, the restaurant was busy but they sat us immediately. We were there to celebrate a birthday and they brought us a special birthday treat which was a great touch and was delicious!

I dined at Selva in downtown Sarasota during the high season and found the experience underwhelming. The service felt rushed, and the salad appeared to be premade, which detracted from the overall quality of the meal. However, I recently returned during the low season and was pleased to find a noticeable improvement. The salad was much fresher, and the food was significantly better prepared. The presentation remains exceptional—elegant and artfully done. If the kitchen could consistently match the level of presentation with flavor and execution, Selva would truly stand out as a top-tier dining destination.
