Fantastic! The owner Mr.Tehen Yu, not only greeted us when we walked in but he remembers us from visiting his other restaurant from months prior! That’s service ! Took the family and friends to Haru Japanese Restaurant this past Friday for a birthday dinner. We chose to check out the Hibatchi experience and were impressed with it all. The service, the show, and most importantly, the food, was top-notch! Having a Japanese Steak House north of Clifton Park is fantastic. When walking in, the transformation of the space from the Golden Corral "experience" to the Haru Experience was obvious as soon as you opened the doors. Obviously a lot of time, care and $$ invested to transform the space. It's spacious and clean with plenty of seating options - Ala carte dining, sushi bar or bar seating and of course the Hibatchi seating. Great experience, friendly and attentive staff and the food again, top notch. We'll be back.

Visited for my Father-in-laws birthday, had the hibachi service. Food was tasty if unexceptional, the cook entertained everyone. Service was also quality. I would visit again.

Haru's Japanese Steakhouse offers an enchanting ambiance, exceptional food, and outstanding service. The traditional yet modern decor creates a soothing atmosphere. The sushi and sashimi were fresh and beautifully presented, while the hibachi-grilled dishes were prepared with precision. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience. The drink menu featured unique cocktails and a wide selection of sake. Haru's Japanese Steakhouse is a must-visit for an unforgettable dining experience.

Huge and very new - hibachi tables well separated from dining room. Funky water feature at entrance. Food was so good that I forgot puctures. Immense menu, something for everyone. I recommend the spicy seafood udon soup, spouse raved about fried oysters and pineapple shrimp fried rice. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will certainly be back.

Interior is very nice. It's hard to believe that this was once a Golden Coral. The food is absolutely delicious and comes out so incredibly fast. 11/10. It was oddly slow as well for 6 pm on a Saturday night. I feel this may be a hidden gem for now

Loved it. The koi pond at the front with its little bridge is super cute. I got shrimp tempura and tried the xiao long bao (dumplings), very delicious and plate presentation was top tier! Sadly I don't have a picture, but all the shrimp were stood up with an onion ring holding them all together and the vegetables (also battered) circled at the bottom, with a mock flower and carrot garnish on the side. Very affordable, about $20 per person before tip. Service was good and speedy, very polite

This restaurant is beautiful! A pond and waterfall in the lobby and a bridge to walk across it. To the right is a dining area with many hibachi tables. To the left is another large dining area with traditional tables and booths. Everything we've ordered has been excellent. Hibachi entrees, Japanese fried rice, bento boxes. Highly recommended.

I am so glad to finally have an elevated Asian fusion restaurant in Saratoga. Haru's beautifully curated menu has all of the classic favorites with additional dishes that are fresh and novel. We were especially impressed with the sushi. The fish was fresh and the sauces were flavorful. My kids were also very excited to get bubble tea to go. Pro tip: order a side of spicy mayo with your sushi. The entire restaurant is clean, spacious and beautiful. Service was friendly and prompt despite being very busy at lunch time. The owner, Dan is so welcoming and attentive. This is a gem that is perfect for any occasion.

We can't say enough nice things about this restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, had lots of flavor. Large sushi bar, plenty of spacious tables. They also had a large selection of alcoholic drinks. Surprisingly, we saved room for desserts and they were to die for. We had their peanut butter cake, cheesecake, green tea mochi and mango bomb. The interior was designed with so much thought and had lots of attention to details. They accommodated our kids so well. Between birthday balloons and lots of opportunities for kids to drink sprayed water from peeing boy bottles, it was so entertaining. Our favorite restaurant. Highly recommend and will definitely come back!!!

The family and I went here this evening, and sat at the Hibachi part. Our chef was really good and engaging. It was mostly the same tricks and gags at other hibachi places, but they were well done and he didn't seem tired of doing them. The food was excellent and plentiful. We all took leftovers home.

You would be really hard pressed to find a better Japanese place, or better sushi, in the region. We absolutely love this place. They always treat everyone like they're super important. For God's sake there's a whole koi pond right in the entry. There's boba tea. They take big groups like it's no big deal. We showed up with 10 people once and they didn't even blink. I just love this place.

Although we couldn’t help but feel nostalgic about sitting where the chocolate fountain had once been, they did a great job in transferring a Golden Corral to a Japanese steakhouse. The menu and food was excellent, and so was the service. This place is so big, I hope to see it fill up.

Wonderful bartender slinging specialty cocktails... Some even served in your very own tiki glass! Sushi is exceptionally prepared and they can accommodate large groups (we had 10). We're heading back to try the hibachi table next time.

Amazing service and food! We started with the Chicken Negimaki appetizer and it was out of this world! Then the wife had the Ginger chicken and I had the General Tso's and both were very tasty! Very impressed and will be back for sure! Can not wait to try their Sushi and Hibachi!

Personally, I feel like 5 stars is an insult. The place deserves 10! The place is very nice, welcoming and clean. The staff was all very kind and friendly. The service was spot on. To be honest, I did not feel like I was in a restaurant. The food was... well, amazing. (I didn't care for the soup that came with the meal. But, it's me and not them. I'm simply not a soupy person) All around 10/10!!!

Tried this place for the first time, sat at the hibachi table and it exceeded my expectations. The food was so good as well as the drinks. The staff were attentive and our hibachi chef still made it fun even though it was just myself and my husband at the hibachi table that evening. The inside is very nice and we will definitely be back again!

H

Kinda pricey, and the wait is long, but I've had a good experience every time I went. The only regret I have with this place is that it replaced the old golden corral. Perhaps this is a metaphor for foreign influenced replacing American culture, one diabetes causing piece of buffet food at a time.

Went with 3 young kids and sat on the side without teppanyaki. Got seated at an oversized table which was a huge game changer for having the 3 young kids. Food came out fast and tasted great. Sushi was awesome!

Stopped into Haru Japanese restaurant before going to a concert at SPAC. The atmosphere was very clean with a modern oriental decor. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. Every dish we ordered was delicious. The tom yum udon with seafood was my favorite! I like to try something new ever time we find a new good restaurant, but I think I’m going to order that again next time. We didn’t try any sushi but all the plates we seen looked great. Can’t wait to go back.

This place is amazing! The employees are very respectful and kind, the interior is beautiful and well decorated, and the food is delicious! There are tons of amazing decor, including a fish pond with a bridge and waterfall. The hibachi chefs are next level, with plenty of experience and humor. The sushi is a must try, with a plentiful selection of delicious rolls. I will most definitely be coming back here when I have the chance!

Yum! Pork Dumplings were A++, along with the coconut shrimp. Wonton soup tasted like it was made with shrimp in it, not a fan. Ordered the Skidmore Roll. The beef was cooked black and blue, perfect for the sushi. Bubble tea! 😋

Haru is a terrific addition to the Saratoga area. As an avid sushi enthusiast, I must say they offer the most impeccably fresh fish in town. The service provided was both friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. From their Toro, Uni, and Sweet Potato Tempura Roll to the mouthwatering Garlic Udon Noodles and Shrimp Fried Rice, every part of our meal was delicious. I've already had the pleasure of visiting twice since their opening and definitely have plans for many more visits in the future.

Had a reservation for 630pm, place was packed! But we were sat around that time and the waitress was really kind and generous! The only negative was my brother asked for no Boba in his milk tea, but someone else brought it out with Boba so...maybe there was a miscommunication. Other than that, everyone enjoyed their meals and we will be back again! Thank you so much for a wonderful family dinner! ^_^

Had a fun dinner with friends. Great warm fun atmosphere. Good entertaining staff. Be patient even if you have a reservation you might have to wait. 10 people at a hibachi table will run you $500-$700

Harp is a mixed bag for me. I am a fan of X Xiao long bao, which are soup dumplings. When im in the area, they just so happens to carry them. Despite their servers being comically small, they are amazing as little appetizers. Aside frome that tangent... Yes they have good food, id suggest going for any of their udon noodles as the texture is balanced. Not to soggy, not too firm. Loved their garlic udon

I went for my birthday and had the most amazing time. They give out balloon crowns and balloon flowers. The waitresses and hibachi chefs were great. They have a great birthday song and celebration. Amazing place for a birthday for all ages. Great food, great drinks, amazing staff. Will definitely be going back. Worth the price!

My husband and I went on a Saturday afternoon for a quick lunch. We were seated immediately and our waitress was very patient and attentive as we explored our options. We ordered the gyoza, Ninja roll, shrimp udon, and a chicken teriyaki bento lunch box. All of the food was hot and well seasoned, and the bubble teas were delicious as well. Nothing to complain about except the price - we ended up paying $75 for our lunch which is outrageous even in the Wilton/Saratoga area. Overall though, we enjoyed our meal.

Employees are fantastic, menus are easy to read and the food is presented in incredible ways. I love coming here for a sweet potato roll with friends. They have boba tea and the first time I had it it was great but the second time... I don't think they put as much love into it as they did the first time. Everything else is fantastic though and food is served promptly. Highly recommend.

I'll never understand why when being seated at a hibachi table they have to sit you in the farthest corner. This particular restaurant you don't have to make reservations and they don't make you wait for other tables for 20 to 30 minutes to fill the table before they start cooking for you. I hate sitting in the corner I like sitting dead in the middle so when they put our menus at the corner of the table I said I'd like to sit in the middle and the guy says well if other people show up you have to move. We sat in the middle and just like the last time we were there nobody showed up. Food was pretty good except for the fact I feel like there was some ingredients from our fried rice that the cook didn't put into it

The decor is tasteful and appropriate, the food came out quickly, and the service was impeccable. However, everything felt…acceptable without being exceptional. I think just a little bit more attention to the smaller details would raise this experience into being a must go. One thing I did especially appreciate was the waitress bringing me an alternate dish free of charge when I could couldn’t eat a particular appetizer because of dietary restrictions.

I was looking forward to visit Haru. It was really nice inside, the ambience was definitely 5 stars. However, food is 3 stars. We had hibachi, and It was too salty. Too much soy sauce. I couldn't enjoy the rice. I'm not sure with Teppanyaki chef, we said no to some stuff and just keeps pushing. We ended up having wet shirts after. He doesn't take No for answer but it's not good. We waited long for the food hibachi though. Pork Xiao Long Bun was good and the hibachi noodles was good, not too salty. Staff are really nice too.

To start off, the food is very good and not unreasonably priced, especially for the Saratoga area. The interior is also fantastic, especially the water feature at the entrance. That being said, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The couple of times I've dined in, the waitress we had didn't really look like she wanted to be there or never came to check to see how we were doing. On the occasions where I've gone in to pick up a takeout order, there's never anyone at the host(ess) stand, and even after making direct eye contact with one -or multiple, in today's case- of the waitstaff, they've ignored me to go chitchat with each other on either side of the sushi counter for several minutes at a time. If it wasn't for the fact that I already paid for the food, I would've just left to go elsewhere.

A

The food was good not overly impressed. The soup is terrible & they spelled vegetable wrong on the menu...ooops! The atmosphere is very noisy...oh and make sure you pay attention when you get your bill...they automatically add the tip to the bill i find that to be shady & rude

It was “ok”—nothing special. We had the Gen’l Tso chicken and the Filet Mignon chef specials. Came with a large lump of sticky white rice. The steak was tender though. The soup was “eh” the salad was pitiful. Nice atmosphere though.

I’ve been here a couple times and unfortunately, on my most recent visit, I was not really impressed. I had table service from the menu, not hibachi, and for some reason the lunch menu was randomly not available. The food quality is fine I guess, but it’s not really worth it for the price, in my opinion. The hibachi is might be worth it because you get the experience as well, but it has been a while since I had a hibachi meal here, so I can’t really say. Just overall wasn’t really feeling it last time, and I’m not sure I’d return anytime soon.

First time tonight. Spouse ordered Sesame Chicken ($20) and I had veggie Pad Thai ($16, I think). Both meals came with Miso soup and a tiny side salad. My spouse liked the soup ok but I thought it had a funky undertaste to it. The side salad was nothing more than a miniscule dish of iceberg lettuce and one cherry tomato. Not sure what the dressing was. Some kind of peanut sauce maybe? It was beyond bland and neither of us finished it, even though it was so small. My spouse liked their sesame chicken but it didn't come close to being the best they'd ever had or anything like that. He simply said it was good, not great. I really disliked my veggie Pad Thai though. It had more vegetables than any veggie Pad Thai that I've eaten in my life, so I didn't like the noodle-to-vegetable ratio. Plus it had a larger variety of vegetables than I've ever gotten in that particular dish before, some of which I simply do not care for, such as bell pepper. I would never have expected it in that dish or I wouldn't have ordered it. I really like Pad Thai noodles in general and would have just eaten those but there were so many diced up vegetables it was near impossible to just pick out the noodles alone without also picking up vegetables I didn't like. It also did not have tofu from what I could tell, which I missed because I do Iike that texture. However, this is all ultimately my fault for ordering a Thai dish at a Japanese restaurant. Anyway, shortly after receiving the dinner the waiter checked in with us and asked how the food was. I told him I wasn't crazy about the Pad Thai. I wasn't rude about it, just honest. Nothing was said or done on his part. He just walked away. I ate somewhere between a fourth and third of it simply to fill myself up some and pushed the dish to the edge of the table. Also, our water glasses were never refilled so we ran out of something to drink halfway through dining. Giving two stars solely based on the interior design. It's a lovely looking restaurant.

My husband and I went when they first opened and it was wonderful. We went again last night, and it definitely left a lot to be desired. Our server, Daniel, acted as though he had other people he’d rather be waiting on, and seemed annoyed with us from the moment we sat down. When we ordered, when I wanted clarity on whether or not the dish came with soup/salad, he simply said “no.” I told him that the last time we were there that dish - literally - did, but he simply said no. My husband asked if he could get tofu with his fried rice, and again, “no” was the response, with nothing else to add. Then he said, after looking away multiple times, “do you need more time?” I said yes and he was gone. When he came back I asked for clarity again, and he still said no. I got the dish anyway (Pad Thai) but boy that was frustrating! It seems like they ran it a certain way during their soft opening, and now are doing things differently. It clearly says on the menu, right above the Pad That, that it comes with soup and a salad. AND we got it last time. And that server….. The last time we were that it was SO great…this was just frustrating and annoying. But hey, they have parking, which is better than any place downtown! Lol

The atmosphere of the entire restaurant is very nice! We walked in and blown away at how the place used to be a golden corral. We started off by ordering mango kani salad, gyoza and xiao long bars for our appetizers, they were absolutely delicious but the portion size was extremely small. For almost 10 dollars per appetizer, we expected a lot more. Our server wasn’t very interactive with us and was very short spoken, however we did have another person come over and tell us that he loved the xiao long baos as much as we did! he was super nice! We also got chicken hibachi and that was probably the reason why my review is so bad. When a hibachi place opens, you expect it to have good hibachi. The chicken was very good however the veggies, rice and noodles were all very flavorless and cold. It definitely had been sitting for a long time. I know this place just opened so I’ll probably go in the future and leave a different review and try something else since I’m local! Another thing was also really weird to me in case someone had an allergy, they mix shrimp and chicken together with their hibachi. Personally, I have no problem but in case someone goes with an allergy just make sure you say no shellfish!

D
Deb Pollack

After enjoying a nice meal with family, the waitress stopped us while we were leaving. We had not left enough of a tip. We could not leave only 15% this time. The last I knew, someone could leave a tip according to their budget. We took up a collection and ended up giving her a 25% tip. It's the last tip they will get from me. This was done in very poor taste. Buyer beware.

R
Robert mcgehee

The restaurant is large and looked promising. We did hibachi for about 14 people. The service was good. The food? IT WAS AWFUL. I couldn't eat my lo mein. It had an odd flavor. Looking around, several other people in our party had the same reaction. The filet was cooked appropriately but tasted of nothing but soy sauce. I'll stick to Duo.

L
Laurie Siegel

We picked up dinner and ate at home. In the salmon teriyaki Bentonville box, the salmon had corn and onions for veggies. Really bizarre. The eel roll was good. I just don't think the food is worth it. The salmon was a bit crispy and overcooked. I wouldn't order from them again.

P

I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the service here is very professional, they are incredibly nice, and the restaurant is beautiful. However, in my experience, the food was not good. I was given a bad piece of fish in my sushi that I had to throw out because I couldn't chew it. The sauce for one of my entrees was very bland. I usually order from Neon Sushi in Glenville where I get both incredible food and service, but decided to try Haru since I was in Saratoga Springs at that time. I won't be ordering from them again.

We went to this place because of the great menu and very good reviews. This must have been an off night. My steak was soft and chewy, no char and no flavor. Wife's Pad Thi meal also had almost no flavor and devoid of vegetables. Seemed odd at 7 PM on a Saturday there were almost no customers. We wish them well, but if this happens too often they won't make it.

Normally I have a great experience with this restaurant but there was something seriously wrong with the filet mignon.... There was several bite pieces that were like a mashed potato consistency... Absolutely disgusting. I will be bringing back to the restaurant because I believe the steak was expired... I will update if I get sick.. the attached picture is one NOT chewed. Edit after reply*** This is definitely the right restaurant. I can share my receipt at any time. As I've said I've done this a few times from this restaurant and have never had issues until this order.

The food was delicious and we were having a wonderful time until the bill came. We tipped the hibachi chef $20 because he did have a tip jar on the cart and he was awesome and we had a blast. Our bill was $165 and because we had already tipped $20 for the chef, we out down $185. The waiter and someone else were chattering at the bar and looking over at us like we did something by wrong, then proceeded to tell us that we didn’t tip enough- stating that even though we tipped out the chef- that was “extra” and they still had to tip him from what we left. Last i checked, you aren’t obligated to tip anything- albeit that’s crappy- but we paid over $200 on our $165 meal. Very poor business and left a really bad taste. Would not recommend this place and will not be returning if we are back in the area- which is sad because the food was actually wonderful. But i cannot stand the pushiness and how we were treated like scum who don’t know how to tip.

Our group did the at home hibachi service that was offered through this restaurant. During the reservation process, I saw on their website it says a surcharge travel fee will apply to destinations further than 25 miles. We were only 18 miles away and they tried to rip us off saying there would be a $200 travel fee. After bringing up to them that their website says otherwise, they dropped the travel fee and said they "forgot to change it to 15 mile radius on the website". I had to confirm about 3-4 times via email and/or phone leading up to the event along with putting down a required $200 deposit. I called the restaurant around 5:30pm again to confirm that our chef would be showing up for our 6:00pm reservation that night, and that's when they admitted to completely forgetting about our reservation! They asked if a 7:30pm arrival for the chef would be okay - I declined that offer and requested a chef to get there for the original time I requested. After some chaotic conversation back and forth, the chef arrived around 6:45pm and left by 7:30pm for another party according to the chef. Unfortunately, this was a chaotic process and felt rushed throughout. Our chef was great/entertaining, but this needs to be more organized if they are going to continue to offer the outdoor at home hibachi.

I had haru last night with my family and the entire time after ordering our food, our waitress was no where to be seen. Our food took 1 hour and 30 min max to come out. The waitresses are “speed walking” to other tables like mad chickens when really no others need help. My daughter went to the bathroom and came back telling us that you can see the waitresses no doing their work and just standing there on their phone or chitchatting. One thing that I noticed about this restaurant is that their menu has mostly the same food items as Kinjo. The food at haru is way more expensive and when all of our families food came FINALLY the food was dry or not that good. The chicken habachi we ordered, the chicken tasted overcooked and very chewy??? Im questioning whether it’s chicken or not. The kids wanted boba so we tried it. We are from NYC and the boba from haru was so different. It doesnt taste like it came from authentic tea. The original boba tea we ordered tasted like it came out from straight powder and water thats mixed together. We can see the one of the staff is having tension between on another and we are just trying to relax and have some food but the waitresses are just yapping so much and so loud. Even though the “atmosphere” is nice and cool, it hurts my eyes. This restaurant has no originality and unless you want overpriced, not very good quality food, and get ignored by your waitress you can go eat here.

Very bad waitress. Spilled beverage on me. Never apologized. Never smiled. Took our food while we were still eating. Never cleaned up her mess. We had to get napkins to do it ourselves. Cook was great.

Twice delivered the wrong dinner, once on a broken plate. Food was tepid at best. Appetizers arrived after the dinners were delivered and after mine dinner was delivered wrong …twice. Asked for brown rice, got white. Place wasn’t particularly busy on a Wednesday night yet the staff was running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Impossible to find our waitress for assistance. Never checked in to see if things were ok. Waited 20 minutes after asking for our check which arrived with no courtesy discount for all the errors. Terrible. Never again.

I just want to apologize to Osaka, you were closed for two days and we came here instead. I deeply regret coming here. As I type this out I'm on the verge of vomiting. To start the rock shrimp was brought out cold and soggy. They replaced it and even though it was hot it was the tiniest most expensive I have ever seen. Thenwe had ordered sashimi. We got tuna, salmon, and Toro. The price was rediculous for the tiny bite size sashimi. Everything was warm and chewy. the Toro was so thin and fibrous I almost threw up then. Our ninja roll was also old and stuck together as though it had been waiting for us to order it. Please don't waste your time here this place is disgusting. My waitress was nice....

This is the second time I’ve ordered since they’ve opened. This is the second time they’ve messed my order up. I only ordered a second time because I LOVE MIKADO and I received a gift card to this place instead because it’s closer to my house. My entire order was wrong. I received white rice instead of brown for the second time. The chicken tastes like fish and the extra side of sauce is soy sauce not teriyaki sauce. Literally a waste of my time, money, and tip once again. Maybe you should close and save yourself the embarrassment.
