When you’re in a town where you don’t know a thing, it makes all the difference to have a great server help guide you — and Josh did exactly that! He was super attentive and helped us decide on what to eat, which we really appreciated. The atmosphere here was welcoming and laid-back, which honestly isn’t always the case in Savannah where reservations and uptight hosts seem to be the norm. At Fiddler’s, I instantly felt that true Southern hospitality. Highly recommend this place — and ask for Josh!
Always a good place to stop when in town. Quick stop in for lunch before heading back to Atlanta. Fried Green tomatos are the largest I've seen anywhere. Crab claws and shrimp are good appetizers. We had chef selection of raw oysters but ate them to fast to take pics. Will definitely be back in the spring.
The service and food were great, Josh greeted us as soon as we came in and in addition to our server, that I forgot his name, checked on us throughout our visit. Everyone was exceptionally attentive to us and everyone else in the restaurant. The food was great and served fresh and hot. I definitely recommend you visit Fiddler's for a meal or just a few drinks.
Great food and ambiance, seating on the balcony by the river was awesome. They have a hot cider that kept me warm, besides their heaters outside, much appreciated. Food was great, I had the king crab and clams!
I had a great experience at Fiddler's Crab House & Oyster Bar. Josh was our server and he was amazing — he managed the bar and several tables but still checked in on us consistently and made sure we were taken care of. The food came out extremely fast, which was a pleasant surprise. I started with the fried crab claws and they were delicious — perfectly fried with a good amount of meat and a dipping sauce that paired so well. For my entrée, I ordered the Salmon BLT, and it was cooked perfectly. The salmon had just the right amount of crisp and seasoning, and the fries on the side were just as enjoyable. Between the service, the speed, and the quality of the food, this spot definitely left a great impression.
Shoutout to Hunter who was my bartender and server last night! Came up here from Jacksonville to spend time with my wonderful man and had some super cool opportunities to visit new places I’ve never been before. Fiddlers was one of them! Hunter is one of coolest people I met, and he made my last night in Savanna so memorable. I got some dozen Oysters and he let me know his favorites, Oysters were freaking GOOD. Shoutout to whoever is shuckin them things! Also, the owner was a delight and greeted me when I first walked in, and then let me know Hunter would be taken care of me. The restaurant is so home feeling and there is an upstairs but honestly I was having such a chill time I didn’t get to check it out! But I heard it’s just as cool and vibey as the downstairs. A divine time I had! I think I spent a little over 2 hours there just killing time by myself. Thank you Fiddlers crew for the vibey songs and delish freakin oysters, and not to mention the fabulous hospitality I received. I’ll be back!
Our severs Wes and Payton were fantastic! We stopped to enjoy drinks and a snack but will return for sure. Atmosphere is nice friendly, rustic, and cozy. Overall great experience!
Really enjoyed our time here at Fiddlers. A big part was not only the location on the river but our server Hunter! He did a great job and was very friendly. He got food out fast and had great conversations with him. Food was also good, but again, it always makes it better with great service. 👍🏻
This place is a nice little seafood joint on the river. They have down stairs and upstairs seating. If you sit upstairs there are some seats on the balcony to enjoy the river views. I got the beer flight which I feel was definitely worth the money to try a variety of local brews. My friend tried ALL the oyster options and as an oyster lover she enjoyed the different types offer and as a non oyster lover, I enjoyed them as well! I personally got the stuffed crab and it was alright. I have had better stuffed crab, but at a decent price I was satisfied.
Loved the vibes at night, splendid service and good food… ask for the top deck river view table to soak in the night time views as you enjoy your drinks and food…
Joshua did an amazing job serving us today. We had a part of about 25 and he handled the situation with care, compassion, and kindness. My family and I couldn’t have asked for a better serve. Joshua, I’ll be back! Thank you for your amazing service!
Wonderful atmosphere, great food and service. We say outside and had a perfect view of the river. We were there on a Wednesday afternoon. The salmon was so good!!
Seafood was amazing! Portions were good and everything was seasoned really well. Kimberly was our waitress, she was sweet. The one thing that wasn’t amazing was the corn. It was dry, but that’s not why you come here. The price for the platter for two was good for all it came with. It is always busy here, but they have plenty of staff which keeps everything running smoothly and you have a great experience.
Year after year, this place never disappoints. Our server this time was Laurice and she was right on point with everything. Waterfront view, awesome drinks and great oysters.
We went for my wife birthday. I wanted a Ribeyes and Crab and placed my order and they came back and informed me that they ran out. They were very apologetic and offered anything else. I have to admit we came in kind of late. The reason why I'm giving them 5 stars sometimes you run out of food, it is how you handle customer service when you face adversity. I went with what i really came there for a dozen oysters and the Bloody Mary and they were both awesome. Do I recommend this place to you? The answer would be "YES". The waitress is the sweetest person you'll ever meet. We really enjoyed talking to her. Also when you go on there, make sure you say "Hello to Keyshawn Johnson". #19. He's named after my favorite football player.
SO glad I never looked at these reviews before we went because it was one of the best meals we've had in Savannah and we are pretty picky. Service was outstanding and quick. Best bloody mary in town. I had a grilled snapper sandwich on toasted bun, husband had fried oysters. I will be thinking about that sandwich for a LONG time. Excellent!
Oh my word, the Low Country Boil was absolutely amazing. Went here twice. Lunch I had the Gator Bites and Savannah Oysters. Both were excellent as well. Alex and Dan were super awesome servers. Thanks for a great Dinner. Would highly recommend.
Savanah, Georgia has a ton of seafood places. This one had a display of oysters in the window. I love Blue Points, they had them with three others. Super fresh and bigger in size. Some of the other places had no idea what they had. Got a dozen. Then had an In Shell dinner of oysters, clams, mussels, shrimp and crab. All steamed. Wow, was that delicious. I am picky when it comes to seafood. If it smells fishy, I'm out. The wife is the same way. Would highly recommend eating here.
This place is the BOMB! Our server Grayson was so incredibly pleasant and helpful with the AMAZING choices available on the menu! This was our first time here and we could not be happier! Prices are very fair and the food quality and quantity is just spot on. Every dish we ordered just kept getting better and the atmosphere is equally great! I highly recommend everyone come and check this place out and see for yourself just how good it is. Thank you Grayson for making our dinning a TRULY great experience! We will definitely be back!
Wonderful service from Josh. Gave great recommendations and we were craving seafood and he hooked 🪝 us up. Pun intended. Gave extra water for us which was much appreciated and we were also very fortunate to have really beautiful seating. Crab dip was the best thing we had. Thanks Josh! Keep working hard, we saw you running around helping EVERYONE, not just your tables. Great Savannah experience! Oysters were out of season but still AMAZINGGG!!! And he provided the extra lemons. as well.
Great location on River street. We sat downstairs and the bartender took care of us. He was awesome. Very friendly and took great care of the family. Drinks were great and the food was delicious and plenty. Crab legs are great as well as the shrimp. Great views if you get to sit by the window. If you have a small party, I recommend sitting downstairs, bartenders will take care of you for sure.
Outstanding. The fried alligator tail was tender and delicious. Fried oysters are awesome and service is prompt. For sure a great place to kick back. I recommend the rooftop balcony for seating.
Had the Low country Boil which was excellent. We sat inside on the second floor because it was so incredibly humid and the air conditioning is amazing. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The sweet tea was good and they have good tasting water as well. (That might be weird to say but I love a place with good water.) my husband had the crab cake sandwich which was also very good. Even indoors we had a nice view of the river. Great place. We would definitely return.
We were a party of 5. We waited for about 5 minutes for a table. As soon as we were seated the server was there to get our drink order. We ordered our food and it arrived very quickly. The crab dip in the bread bowl was AWESOME! The low country boil was seasoned perfectly. My sister had the salmon and she said it was the best she'd had in a long time. The restaurant was clean, the bathroom clean, the server (wish I could remember her name.) was very attentive, and the food was perfectly seasoned, way to go Fiddler's Crab House!
Every one was great food so pretty I didn’t want to eat
We traveled to Savannah, Georgia for our anniversary to explore the history. We stopped here for our first night's meal, to celebrate a little bit and my wife and I decided to engorge ourselves on some long delayed spectacular meals. We started the meal with some cocktails which were fantastic, but I especially thought that my wife's choice of a cocktail was better than mine. She got the Crab shack cooler cocktail, and the orange flavors definitely make it a very tangy and flavorful cocktail. Cocktail. Both of us had appetizers where my wife was able to enjoy her favored platter of oysters. She had nothing but excited expressions and enjoyed every morsel of oysters that she was delivered. I had the fried pickles, and though they were a small bit salty, they were still enjoyable. My wife got the seafood platter that had the choice of shrimp and crab legs and she could not stop smiling. I had the buffalo shrimp po-boy and it was one of the better Po-Boys I have had in my life, and I grew up around New Orleans. As for the atmosphere, the place is definitely bustling and busy, but there are plenty of smiles all around. Our waitress and the person training with her were both very friendly and easy to communicate with, and did not shy away from some interesting historical facts about the building. They were also very focused and accommodating to our being satisfied with our meal for the entire night. This is definitely a place we will return to in the future, and we hope that our next visit will be just as wonderful as our visit this time.
Wonderful selection of local Southern fare! Always ask what is local but everything is delicious. The specials are always worth a try. Be aware when you enter, you'll encounter the bar first. The restaurant dining area is upstairs.
Ordered the clamp chowder and hushpuppies. This clam chowder had more clam's in it than any other chowder I have ever had. The hushpuppies were crunchy on the outside and soft and so delicious in the middle. Was a nice bar/restaurant by the water in a really cool part of Savannah. Definitely would recommend!!!
Food was good! We ordered the steamed shrimp, fried green tomatoes, and crab dip. Josh was our server, and quite frankly was the best part of our experience as well as the reason we will come back! Super friendly and efficient- he made us feel so welcome.
Walked in around 8:50 pm and was pleasantly greeted by Kaitlyn. Sat at the downstairs bar and ordered, food came pretty quick! Loved the modern vibes on the river and it felt warm and welcoming. Really wanna make it a point that Kaitlyn was some of the best companya s a bartender that I've had in some time in Savannah. She is 1 in 100 and in my top 5 people I'd come back PURELY to be served by as they made for excellent conversation. As a working class joe it felt genuine and like they wanted to seriously have those talks about just general stuff and made me feel seen. Kaitlyn really amde this whole thing for me and her fellow crew was giving me a laugh as well but Kaitlyn herself stuck out. I've favorites AND STARED this place to revisit on a Wed night next trip in here for. Not only that I'll likely bring a friend or two with me. Kaitlyn deserves some praise for her hospitality and friendly nature. Heck I'd say they deserve a little extra just for that experience alone. 10 outta a possibly 5.
Great location with outdoor deck seating that was too cold for us to use. Good service. The hush puppies were on the overdone side. It would be really great on a warmer day. Cool bar area on the lower level.
Nice place, right across the street from the Savannah River. Offers outdoor seating as well. Conveniently located. Service is good. Food is tasty and reasonable. I had oysters on the half shell and blackened Red Snapper. My wife had the boiled shrimp dinner. We were seated right away on a Saturday afternoon. It’s conveniently located next to the river walk and shops. It’s a good place to eat.
Wonderful experience. Pet friendly, had heated second floor patio, our dog loved it. Oysters and Red Snapper was amazing. Alligator bites were fantastic but wish the portion was a little bigger. Hamburger was great.
This was a first time visit for me and the food was so good! I gave food 4 stars because it tasted delicious but small portions. I ordered the fried shrimp with fries and gator bites. My boyfriend had oysters with bacon and cheese on it. The oysters are more dry not wet. The gator bites were delicious and had good sauce to go with them. I sat at the bar and ordered food to go and when we waited about 20-25 minutes. This is also a two story place which I thought was cool and the bar is downstairs. Love the food just needed bigger portion and the customer service was good.
We were really excited to come here because we heard they had great food and good service. We must of came in a bad day. We wanted to sit outside so we had to go upstairs which was fine. There was a little wait to get a table and that was fine. The staff must of been having not a good day cause there was lots of yelling and swearing at each other and complaining. We were getting worried. We were finally seated and our waitress was really nice and helpful. It ended being not that bad. Hopefully their day got better.
My brother liked his Shrimp and Grits, my sister-in-law loved her snow crab. My wife's quesadilla was over cooked, and my burger was okay. Service was good. The desert was okay. What i really liked was going downstairs to the bar. Service was very good, and the hot cider was extremely good.
The food was great. The service was subpar, the server wasn't attentive. She forgot his food and was acting as if it wasn't a big deal. Both meals should've come out at the same time. I didn't mind sharing mine with him but she would've known it if she was attentive. The oysters were the appetizers.
Joshua was awesome. He was very helpful and attentive. Food was very good. Need to work on hushpuppies. Overcooked and greasy.
We visiting tourists had pretty low expectations for dinner at Fiddler's Crab House, but then it turned out that the food was very tasty and the atmosphere was loads of fun. Our waiter Josh was the best! He made some great recommendations and kept us totally entertained. The gator bites were a standout. REALLY yummy! Would definitely go back.
Great food for flavor and presentation, portions are a little small. Service and atmosphere were great! Had a great time with friends listening to their in house music. We made a trivia game of songs while we ate.
The service was okay, but not very hospitable. The atmosphere was quite nice and the balcony view is great. The entrees were good and worth the price. The biggest complaint is the calamari. It was **~fifteen bucks** and we were very disappointed when it came out. With four of us, it was hardly enough to feed maybe two. It was mostly battered and fried banana peppers. Upon talking to the supervisor, he explained that they just make it 50/50 squid and banana peppers. My memory may fail me, but I dont remember that being stated on the menu. Not worth the money ❌️
Really enjoyed being able to eat outside by the river. The server was very attentive. It's a bit overpriced for the portions on top of the lack of flavor. Seafood boils should be smothered in seasoning.
Very average service. A bit disappointing. The crab legs were great. However the crab claw appetizer was embarrassing. My wife ant I both chuckled. 9 crab claws and a lemon served on the plate ($1.55 per claw).
On a recent trip to Savannah, my husband and I were excited to find this restaurant. They have a great 2nd floor terrace with a view of the river. They also have a gluten free menu, which is a must for me, so I felt I could get a delicious and safe meal. Unfortunately, when my meal arrived there were hushpuppies on the plate even though I made it clear to the server my meal needed to be gluten free. The server's response was that the kitchen seldom reads the notes she includes. My husband ordered crab legs, but was not given proper utensils. When he asked the server for a seafood fork, she checked with the kitchen but could not locate one. Another server nearby indicated the restaurant only has 2 seafood forks. The food was ok, but did not meet our expectations. If you have no dietary restrictions and order fried fish you may enjoy your meal.
Great service, food just ok. Ladies seated next to me returned their shrimp dish and it didn't seem like the waiter apologized or tried to make it up to them. I had the shrimp and grits which was smothered by cheese and nothing special. The crab cake sandwich was small and average tasting. Would t go back.
My wife and I have lived here 3 years now, been to 6 other restaurants on the river and decided to try Fiddler's today. Her experience here was much different than mine...my shrimp po boy w/ fries was very good. Our server, Amilee, was kind and attentive. Kept us updated on the status of our food and kept the waters coming. The problem with my wife's order was the way the shrimp were prepared, or lack of preparation is more like it. They arrived, breaded and fried. Unfortunately, they weren't deveined and the shell was left on varying degrees. Instead of getting meat all the way to the tail, she was eating the shell because you couldn't see it under the breading...definitely unacceptable. We let Amilee know and she brought my wife 6 fresh shrimp...same problem. Amilee said the kitchen mgr was on her way out because she quote, "Didn't believe me". After a considerable wait, Brooke arrived but after our explanation (and we prefaced our conversation with, "We don't expect a free meal") she neither apologized and also had the nerve to counter with 3 reasons of her own in regards to why the shrimp were prepared the way they were. Well, if that's the way they prepare their fried shrimp and then have an attitude because we had a problem with it, then we definitely won't come back. In the end I did ask her to comp my wife's meal solely for her attitude and, as you can see in the photo, we left all her shrimp behind.
Waitress was not knowledgeable about a lot of the menu. Had to go and ask about everything and no she was not new. Brought our appetizers and didn't see her again for over 30 min. I had to complain for her to show up. The food was not that appetizing. I had two pea crabs in my steamed oysters clams (meat) were smaller than a penny. And dry nothing about the rest of the food was good either. My husband steak was super fatty and for $40 I would expect better.
I will start with the positives. Two people in my group had the clam chowder and loved it, the hushpuppies and key lime pie were good. Negatives 3 people in my group their food was served with burned buns, cold fries and the blue quesadilla was burnt. We would not recommend this place. A waiter was great.
Struggle giving such a low rating for anything. But this was probably the worst food I had, overpriced and portion was so small. Food took a little longer but that's ok. Not a problem for us and staff told us it would be a while. But seeing the portion of 6 shrimps and one deviled crab with undercooked fries was a lack luster.
This was the first place we visited on our vacation in Savannah, and we were excited about the balcony views and food — but the service completely ruined the experience. The food itself was okay, though definitely overpriced for what you get. We asked for shareable plates but never received them, and our server seemed to forget about us entirely. The table next to us was seated after us yet got their food first. We also ordered an entrée that was supposed to come with hushpuppies, which never arrived. When we mentioned it, the server said they had run out and were making more, but even the table next to us (who got their food before us) received hushpuppies. After waiting a long time, the only response we got from our server was, “Well, that sucks.” No apology, no follow-up — just complete disregard. We eventually gave up and left. Overall, it felt inconsiderate and unprofessional. We won’t be coming back, and we wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
