Great food in an open bar/restaurant environment with beer brewed onsite. Patricia was great and attentive to our needs, asking if she could help us further after we got the food. I had the Cajun Linguine and my wife had the salmon with cheese curds for the appetizer. Great stuff, will be back!
One of my best dining experiences EVER. Pam was beyond AMAZING and if I could give her 10 Stars I would. The food was unreal, the service was amazing and the atmosphere was great. Top notch Old Fashion that was DONE RIGHT! Don’t think about it, just come on in and experience it for yourself.
We went to city works and it was my 3rd time there. Every time I go, the food is just so delicious. John was our server and he was attentive and friendly. This is a place I will continue to go to with my friends. I’ve gotten the chicken and chips and the cookie skillet! The PB pie is to die for!!
Food: order basically anything on the menu and its gonna be a bit. Their chef select Ribeye in unbelievable and I are every single bite on the plate. All of the staff are friendly and most are very dedictated, and attentive to guests. The dim light atmosphere with wall to wall tvs it something I will keep coming back for.
Came here for brunch over the weekend with family and friends, the service was super nice and friendly. Our waitress was very patient with us considering we were a large group and the food was great. I had the French toast with berries and although it was good, a little too sweet for my taste. If you want something savory, I would recommend the hangover bowl, that was also really good! The atmosphere was cute, loved the sports playing in the background. If you come earlier on Saturday, it's really nice and quiet as well. I don't know how busy it is during peak hours tho
This is a great place to go for a relaxing lunch or dinner. Great food and great staff. I'll be back!!
Upscale and trendy atmosphere, especially for a sports bar! The service was good and the food even better! Patricia was very attentive and friendly. Highly recommend!
We recently visited this restaurant after a days travel. We didnt get to the hotel until close to 11 and we were really happy that they were open until midnight. The service and food was great! We enjoyed it. Definitely recommend this place. It is also conveniently next to the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
This place is a vibe. Patricia was our server, she was great and gave us wonderful menu recommendations. It was happening on a cold Jan night at City Works
Hello there! I’m going to talk about my experience with City Works! First, let’s talk about the food. The chop salad was good. So was the cheddar burger (cheeseburger). The mac & cheese is Kraft mac & cheese. So I wouldn’t recommend buying it as you can buy it for much cheaper at the store, but it was still good. Now let’s talk about the service! The service was well not the best. I’d say it was average. As my chop salad wasn’t cooked correctly. But our waiter was really kind about it. So it gets 4. The atmosphere outside is exquisite. They had shade to protect you from the sun, but there was one thing I would recommend. Fix the TV screen outside as you cannot see it with the sun in its face maybe add some shade over it. The atmosphere inside was perfect. So we can watch any different kind of sport like football and stuff. Overall delicious food, average service, and great atmosphere. Thank you, City Works!
City Works is the perfect spot for our get together lunch with long-time friends. Easy reservation for our group of 7. Great atmosphere to visit. The food and service was PHENOMENAL! We all ordered something different and every single one of us loved our meal! Tyler, our server, took the very best care of us including special orders for dietary restrictions. (I need to eat gluten and dairy free. Tyler even made sure that my food was prepped separately.) We have made City Works our spot to meet up!
The food selections i have had so far have all been good. The scorpion burger is truly outstanding if you like spicy hot food. The late night drinks and atmosphere both indoors and outdoors make a great date night spot. The large tap selection is top-notch also, including popular favorites and other well-known craft beer. If you want to turn your night into a mini bar crawl experience, the hotel bar next door is very nice, large, and open to the public, and kumas corner is a brisk walk away as well. If you dressed well enough, you could probably add in capital grille and perry's for drinks also.
CityWorks Schaumburg delivers an exceptional dining experience that combines great food, fantastic service, and a welcoming atmosphere. The **baby back ribs** are a standout, paired perfectly with the **grilled corn on the cob** and **maple baked beans**—each dish bursting with flavor. While the **pulled chicken** is tasty, it unfortunately falls short on texture, as it was extremely dry during my visit. From start to finish, the service was outstanding, with attentive staff who truly enhance the overall experience. The restaurant is impeccably clean and well-maintained, showcasing a commitment to quality and comfort. Conveniently located next to the Highway Regency in Schaumburg, it’s an ideal spot for hotel guests looking for a delicious meal close by. Prices are **reasonable to moderate**, making CityWorks Schaumburg accessible without compromising on quality. It’s a great choice for anyone seeking a satisfying dinner in a friendly and polished setting.
We ordered some food and beer at the bar. I got spicy popcorn chicken and it was delicious. Not over breaded like a lot of places do. My wife got chopped salad and she said it was one of her favorite chopped salads she ever had. Bartender was friendly and quick. Looks like they have some solid happy hour specials that we will be back for.
Ate here twice as it is walking distance from the local Hyatt. Sat outdoors for dinner; inside for late lunch. Dinner was much more crowded and it was fun to have the fire pits running. Had the salmon for lunch and the pulled pork for dinner. The food and service were just right for the price point.
Patricia was the sweetest server. We love this place it’s the perfect place for great food and to watch sports on their screens
I was shocked at how trendy their menu was for a traditional bar and grill style restaurant. The staff was so engaging and helpful with recommending options. The brunch menu is fantastic with such delicious options. The donuts were airy, sweet, crisp, puffy pastry balls that you dip into chocolate or berry jam and were so delicious! I also got breakfast tacos and the thing that made them special was this sweet maple glaze sauce over the eggs which I highly recommend! They also have mimosa flights where you choose 4 mimosas and theyre basically full size too!
This was the first time I’ve ever visited City Works. Our waitress was incredibly informative of the menu especially the best vegetarian and drink options. We ordered a few drinks which came within 10 minutes. Our food came out shortly after and was DELICIOUS.
I spent a week in Shaumburg and wished I would have chosen to eat here first. This was the last place I ate before I headed back to Mississippi. It was by far the best meal and the best atmosphere of any restaurant I visited during my trip. Great service and great food. Check it out if you get a chance.
If you haven’t tried this place you are missing out. We were looking for a quick bite to eat but with a relaxing vibe, and this is the place. The food was great! We ordered the Nashville Nachos and the pick 2 (smoked wings & brisket). The nachos were piled with some great ingredients (a little original and some new school). The bbq sauce that came with the smoked wings on the side was amazing. The brisket could have used a more Smokey flavor similar to the wings. The price for 2 people was more than affordable. Definitely check it out!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had an awesome time at City Works in Illinois. I ordered the Cajun linguine and honestly it was amazing super flavorful and cooked perfectly. Our waitress Monse was seriously the best. She was really kind, checked on us at the right times, and just had a great vibe overall. Definitely coming back. Would give 6 stars if I could!
Since there is no "beer" category, the 5 stars go to food. The actual food is good if a little pricey. The menu is thin and a little "tries too hard" but based on it's location and the target customers, it is well within expected parameters. But, really, it's about the beer selection. The immense number of beers on tap with seasonal changes can make every experience different and special. There are staples as well, definitely very delicious "tried and trues". City Works is a place where you go for the drinks and stay for the food. The location is right off the highway, adjacent to Woodfield Mall. Fair warning, parking is a challenge. There are two lots but both are small, patience is crucial. It's a great place to meet with friends, talk, laugh, and drink some pints.
City Works is a fantastic spot for hanging out with friends to watch games or for small gatherings and meetings. They offer designated rooms that can comfortably accommodate 25 to 30 people, making it a great choice for team get-togethers or private events. The food options are diverse and flavorful, and the service is prompt and friendly. The restaurant features both indoor and outdoor seating, providing a versatile environment to suit your mood and weather. I love the modern ambiance—being a relatively new place, just 1-2 years old, it has a fresh, contemporary feel that adds to the overall experience. Whether you're here to catch a game or just enjoy a nice meal, City Works is definitely worth a visit!
Sara without the H was fantastic. Very welcoming, friendly, and great personality. Would definitely recommend this place for her service alone. Got the Scorpion Burger and fries and both were excellent. The sweetness and heat were a great balance on the burger and the seasoning on the fries makes it hard to stop. Definitely recommend this place for future dining and drinks.
Came here with a big group and had an awesome time. The food was really good, and everything came out pretty quick considering how many of us there were. Huge shoutout to our server Olivia who was super friendly, on top of everything, and honestly made the whole experience way better. She handled our big group like a pro and made sure we always had what we needed. Definitely a great spot, will definitely be coming back because of the great service here!!
Seared Salmon was delicious!! Wasn't a huge fan of the fry seasoning. Too much pepper. But to each their own! We were in the back room which was nice because it was probably a little quieter, but they still had the game on so that was perfect.
Dropped by while I was in the area! Very nice place, loved that there was a decent amount of vegan options, and the beers I tried were all great. Madalyn and Pam were both lovely servers who gave me really good recommendations, were attentive, and fun to engage with! I ended up getting the Thai chili noodle bowl and the vera beer--that was my favorite! Highly recommend
I can’t say enough good things about this place! I’ve visited several times now, and every single experience has been consistently excellent. I love the vibe — it's warm, inviting, and always feels like a comfortable place to hang out with friends. And the food? A lot of it is made from scratch, which you can absolutely taste. Everything feels fresh, thoughtful, and full of flavor. The staff are friendly, patient, and attentive. I've also received great recommendations. My very first visit, I was recommended the Thai Chili Noodle Bowl, and I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s one of my go-to dishes. My best friend also loved the Tuna Poke Bowl, so the recommendations are definitely spot-on. One thing that truly sets this place apart is how present and engaged the managers are. I've met several of them. They stop by to check in, and they’re always warm, friendly, and professional. Mitch, for example, is great. He's easy to talk to, makes great food and drink recommendations, and I can tell he genuinely cares about making sure guests are having a great experience. I’ve introduced several friends to this place because I trust the service, the atmosphere, and the food. Every visit has been wonderful, and I always leave feeling well taken care of. Highly, highly recommend!
My sister and I stopped for a Bloody Mary and app. We were in town for pleasure. What a great surprise this restaurant ended up being! We sat outside (very nice) and had a bloody mary and split chicken nachos. Both were deeelicious! We both agreed this place was a great find. Hope to be back someday! You will not be disappointed!
I had an outstanding experience at this bar. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and well-put-together. The food was genuinely impressive—not just typical bar snacks but well-prepared dishes with great flavor and solid portion sizes. The drinks were excellent as well, consistently made right and served quickly, which is something a lot of places overlook. The staff, especially the waitresses, made the experience even better. They were attentive without hovering, friendly without being over the top, and kept everything moving smoothly even when the place was busy. It’s clear they take pride in providing good service, and it showed the entire time. Overall, this bar delivered on every level—great food, quality drinks, and top-tier service. I’ll definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place that gets the fundamentals right.
Came in for dinner one night. Our server, Angelica was excellent. She was super funny and attentive. Since it was our first time there, she offered many great selections for both food and drinks. We ended up getting the wings and shrimp. Both were super delicious. The wings were so tasty, and verry juicy. I would absolutely get those again. We went with our server's suggestions on beer. There are SO many to choose from, but she gave us the most popular suggestions and they complimented the meal perfectly. If you're looking for a sign to come in and eat- this is it!! We cant wait to come back! If you want a great experience, request Angelica. She was amazing!
We stopped by City Works after a soccer game. Was able to enjoy items off both the lunch and brunch menu. Kid friendly! Wide variety foot drinks for adults. Patricia was our server and she was very welcoming and great! Would come back again
We were looking for a bite and beer after a shopping. We decided to eat here for the variety of beer and food on the menu. We were sat with Patricia at City Works and it was an amazing experience. The food was great and she was one of the most attentive servers I have had at a restaurant recently! 10/10 experience! Will bring people back here soon:)
We had 8 people dining in at the last minute. I called ahead and the rep who answered the phone was extremely accommodating. The food was delicious. Many of the people in my party praised the drinks. The service was fantastic. All around a great experience
We originally were supposed to dine at Texas de Brazil but we missed our reservation and ended up stopping in city works! It was pretty late almost closing but we were seated right away! Our order was taken almost immediately and our waiter was very attentive and on it. The food was great for an appetizer we had the crab fondue it had a strong tart aftertastes so I wasn’t the biggest fan but it was still decent! For dinner I had the smoked meat loaf which was phenomenal! And my husband had the rib platter he also enjoyed his meal! Atmosphere was good we did coke for my birthday so it was a little loud for my liking but it is party sports bar so that was to be expected! They have a ride array of beer and drinks to try as well as seasonal cocktails! My favorite was the seasonal sangria!
Very relaxed atmosphere, huge beer selection. I ordered the escorpión burger which was delicious. We also ordered a Cuban sandwich which was a bit salty but overall great experience. We will come back soon to try more things from the menu.
This restaurant has a very nice interiors and decent space. Nice ambiance. The service was excellent and the waitress was so humble. The drinks were great and the food was good. I tried shrimp taco. It was a lot of shrimp ❤️ and the taco was delicious. Also the starter tasted OK. Overall I liked the experience and would recommend this place for friends get-togethers..
Nice casual indoor and outdoor dining. Fried pickles and choose your own flight were great. Ahi tuna entree had a bit too much spice (and I like a bit of spice) for my taste but was very good otherwise. Server was very inattentive for one who didn't appear to have many tables. He kept disappearing in the back for periods of time. Would recommend overall and hope you get a better server.
The food was pretty good. Tried the duck nachos that had a lot of good distinct flavors but could have used a little more cheese and toppings. The Nashville Hot chicken wrap was delicious. Spicy but the cucumbers added a nice coolness to the heat. Also ordered a cranberry mojito which I enjoyed. Had a bar atmosphere and was sometimes on the louder side for conversation. They had some good music in the background, random mix of songs that reminded me of my personal playlists. Fairly clean bathroom. Parking was not that easy to find
Receptionist / seating staff are not the most friendly. Server was great! Food was pretty good. A bit on the expensive side. $105 for 2 adults and 2 young children.
Really good food, but everything was spicy, even the fries, which wasn’t mentioned on the menu. Nice waitress, but didn’t come around much, so we were in there longer than we needed. Clean restrooms. Parking was across the street, but we’re from out-of-town, so maybe we missed something.
City Works has a great atmosphere and a lively environment that makes it an enjoyable place to dine. The burgers were really good, and their beer selection is impressive with plenty of solid choices. Overall, the food and setting definitely stand out. The only downside was the service, our server wasn’t very attentive and seemed like they could use a bit more training. With improved service, this place would easily be a top-tier experience. I’d still recommend it and would gladly return.
The hostess who greeted us looked as if she just rolled out of bed—her choice. Then she rubbed her eye for a bit, then proceeded to get water and silverware for another table. Gross. This made me cognizant of who was serving us. The other severs and host appeared more professional and aware of hygiene. The food was delicious and fresh. Very satisfying. I’d say train the hostess and it would have been a 5 star experience.
Had Fried Pickles .. Kung Pao Cauliflower..Queso Dip . Blacken Salmon Salad . . Smoke House Burger ..Mahi Mahi Tacos .. Smoked BBQ platter .. Mini Burgers ..peanut Butter Snickers Pie Everything was good ..smoked wings on the BBQ platter were a bit tough but Everything else was on point
Headed for early evening drinks and some starters while staying at the hotel right next door. Outdoor area was great to sit at. They have quite a collection of alcohol and beverages. Service was decent and the dishes we ordered were ok. We had the crab fondue but wished there was a bit more crab meat. Didn't really look as a fondue but more of a spread and the quantity was pretty small. The duck nachos were good with plenty of duck meat. We only had wine so can't comment on the cocktails.
Made reservations 24 hrs in advance for my anniversary and requested a booth with bar view. When me and my wife got there they said they had us at a high table due to a college football game on and there were large parties there even when I made reservations. They never notified me they couldn't accommodate. After 20 minutes of being seated a booth behind us was given to another party of 2 although we were told we couldn't get a booth due to large parties. Made no sense, making reservations was pointless. The food is good but id rather go somewhere else with good food that actually reserves your seats.
The duck nachos were good, despite not tasting much like duck. The ribs and salmon dish were way too salty. And, get this - the tables are made of copper, so it smells like copper at your table...
We decided to give this restaurant a try based on the great reviews but had an awful experience. The food wasn’t great but I could get past it if the service wasn’t so horrible. My mom and sister had warned me but I decided to go anyway based on the good reviews. Big mistake. First, I ordered a Coke Zero. It tasted like seltzer water. I asked the server for a Coke instead and that still tasted like seltzer water. Instead of addressing the problem, she asked if I wanted a sprite. How would that be any better. Not only that but she was not attentive at all. Had to ask for refills on drinks multiple times and then would never even receive them. When we were ready to pay, it took a while to get the bill and we had to ask for it. Once we did receive it, she charged me for the drink I sent back, which is fine, mistakes happen. When she was asking for the manager to remove the drink, she was talking about me right behind me. The manager said “oh we should check the line” yeah of course. I don’t know why she didn’t do that to begin with. Then when she presented the new bill. I had my credit card sitting in front of me at the table. She reached across and grabbed it and almost ran my card without my permission. We stopped her since we were splitting the bill but I was shocked. How dare you reach across the table and grab someone’s card. It was just overall a really bad experience and I highly recommend you go somewhere else. There’s so many places to eat in Schaumburg and this place is not worth it. The food wasn’t good enough to deal with such bad service.
Honestly this is the third time I've been here and the quality has gotten worse each time unfortunately. We sat for a good while before getting the attention of someone to serve us and when we got the food it was hard and almost inedible and the drinks were okay. Definitely overpriced for less than subpar quality
Food was barely edible. Taste of all four entrees ordered were terrible. Steak in salad was a small portion and no seasoning. Pulled pork was terrible, burger was disgusting. Service was slow, staff spent a lot of time talking to each other instead of checking on tables. Will not be going back.
