Been here several times and I have not been disappointed yet. Food has been fresh and service has been good. The quesadillas are enough to fill you up for sure. They are a little pricey but that seems to be the norm everywhere nowadays. The ordering kiosk in the dining room is convenient.

8.10.24 After a refreshing day of swimming, we decided to stop by Mama Margie’s in Schertz for lunch, and it did not disappoint! The meal was both filling & bursting with flavor. The picadillo nachos were a mountain of deliciousness, packed with savory goodness. The barbacoa tacos were simply amazing, with tender & flavorful meat that melted in our mouths. The chicken fajitas quesadilla was another highlight, with the flour tortilla perfectly cooked to be crispy yet soft. A big shoutout to the staff for maintaining the restaurant so well. The place was clean and welcoming, making our dining experience even better. The variety of salsas (from mild to fiery) kept our taste buds dancing. Nachos Extravaganza: Picture a mountain of nachos—loaded with gooey melted cheese, savory picadillo & hearty beans. It was a fiesta on a plate! Quesadilla Bliss: The cheese & chicken quesadilla was a gooey delight. Perfectly grilled tortillas held the cheesy goodness together. Barbacoa Taco: The meaty barbacoa taco was a flavor explosion. Tender, juicy & generously portioned—it hit the spot. In summary-Mama Margie’s delivers Tex-Mex comfort w/a side of warmth. Meh. I was meeting a client here and they live the food. It's hard with some of my dietary restrictions to find food to eat. I have the cheese enchiladas and they were ok. I was there to see clients and that experience was great.

I love coming to mama Margie's, so clean at this location and staff is so nice. Atmosphere is so relaxing, bur I notice certain things different. I been coming to this location for years. The food has changed, notice beans were more can tasting, when order fijita nachos , they cut the fajita in small pieces , almost not noticeable. Ordered a mexican plate and was like eating at taco cabana, no flavor and boring. Best part was tea , chips and love hot salsa.

A co-worker took me to this place for a quick bite. It was average, nothing special. We didn’t have to wait too long because we beat the lunch crowd.

Food is good always. Service was horrible. Waited 56 minutes for a TO-GO order. When asking on eta they continued to blow me off. Finally I brought up that they ought to let people know before ordering to-go food that they’ll be waiting for an hour. Benny was on the front line and was completely disrespectful and sarcastic about the whole thing. No room for service like this.

If you are looking for a sit down waiter service, this not the place for you. Just shy of cooking your own, you practically have go get your own napkins, silverware, refill on drinks, etc, lastly, when you envision caldo de pollo, you will not get but instead a very subpar version of “their” take on caldo de pollo. Web site says dog friendly, this is not true! When we asked them if our (calm well behaved small dog, which stays in her car carrier when we dine), is allowed here they told me the owner doesn’t allow animals. They will allow service dogs. We went elsewhere.

What happen to the old Mama Margie’s? I remember the days on my drunken nights going here for some 99 cent bean and cheese tacos. But damn $6 for a barbacoa taco. No doubt they make a great barbacoa taco but they are small and no way worth $6 each.

Subject: Poor Experience and Lack of Resolution at Mama Margie’s Dear Management, I recently visited Mama Margie’s and had a disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share. I ordered a large portion but was given a small one instead. The meal was excessively watery and lacked the meat that should have been included. When I called to address the issue, I spoke with Night Shift Manager Rudy Martinez and Monique Adams, but unfortunately, I received no satisfactory resolution or compensation. This poor experience is the reason behind my one-star review, and I will never encourage others to visit this location again. I hope that you will take this feedback seriously and work towards improving the quality of service and food at your establishment.

This is the 3rd time in the last 2 months a taco was forgotten from my order with your Schertz location. So unless I hear how you are going to make this right then I will dispute the charge to my cc of tonight as partial as the food ordered and paid for was not all giving in the drive thru lane. Probably the worst "Chorizo" and egg tacos i have ever had. There is hardly any chorizo and mostly egg. Tasted just like an egg taco. Got 4 tacos total, asked for 4 salsa cause we like salsa on our tacos, and only got 2. So thier tacos aren't good and they dont listen. Will just stick with El Charro down the road.

Ordered a chorizo & egg plate for breakfast this morning. What I got was eggs with about 4 specs of chorizo. It was extremely unsatisfying and disappointing. Thank goodness for the tortillas and beans because I would have left hungry. Mama Margie’s used to be go-to place for me. Don’t think it will continue to be so any longer. Terrible!
