This was undoubtedly one of the best meals I’ve had in Scotch Plains! I highly recommend the Short Rib Egg Rolls and the Crab Cake Sliders, but everything else I ordered was incredible. They also have a great mocktail and cocktail selection. The atmosphere inside transported me into an upscale NYC restaurant!! The staff was super friendly and easily accommodating to allergies. I cannot wait to come back to try more off the menu.

Great new restaurant in Scotch Plains. Nice atmosphere around the bar and in the seating area. Good selection of cocktails and wine to go with a solid menu that includes seafood and many other options. They note gluten free and vegetarian dishes and can accommodate gluten free on other dishes. Highly recommended!!!

We ordered the oyster Rockefeller, tuna tartare, the steak special (20oz. Cowboy steak with onion rings), stuffed flounder. It was all very good, everything was cooked perfectly. Our server was very friendly and the atmosphere is great. We will definitely be coming back!

We visited this new place for our anniversary. When we came in, we were not greeted right away, we stood around at the hostess stand, less than 5 minutes I would say. We had a reservation but our table was not ready on time so we waited another 5-10 minutes for the table to clear. For the food we had a chowder which came way too hot and the soup was spilled all over the doily. I almost burned my mouth eating it. The taste was good, chunky and creamy with lots of seafood. Next set of food came in the middle of me eating my chowder so the timing of the next course was not well timed and I felt rushed. My husband had a house burger. The meat was tasty and juicy but the bun was too big and dense. A lighter brioche bun would fit much nicer there, in our opinion. The fries were chunky, very thick and appetizing. Came out way too hot again though, almost burned myself again. Cocktails were good quality and I loved the fresh flowers in the drinks. Overall the place needs slight fine tuning and more attention to detail such as greeting, no spills on food, timing of the meals and temperature of the food itself.

When this place opened, I REALLY wanted it to succeed but after having a meal, I just had to write a review. I gotta say, after so much hype, we finally got a Friday night rez for 6. The spot is fun and lively but we were squeezed into a 4 person booth against the wall, they are lacking in tables that accommodate more than 4, I felt like a little kid wedged into the adult table. Cocktails, top notch. Oysters, decent but please don't call yourself an "oyster house" and only have 3 different oysters. There are sooo many excellent East Coast oysters, yet you choose to have Blue Point? Big red flag. Meatballs...good, tasty, nice portion. I rate restaurants by their pork chop.This was one of the worst I've ever had. As soon as I cut through it, I could tell. It looked gritty and dull. As i chewed it, it also had a gritty texture, tell tale signs of it having been frozen. The sauce was thin as if it were watered down. Two people got the curry sauced fish special. The fish also had an odd texture, reminiscent of having been frozen. While the curry sauce helped and it did taste good, we couldn't get past the texture. The crusted chicken was like 2 hockey pucks and the person who ordered it said "its disgusting" The duck special was the best dish at the table, very tasty. The linguine with clams had a nice selection of seafood, good amount as well. Moving on to dessert. The waiter suggested the "made in house" bread pudding. While tasty, I SWEAR it was a Cinnibon hidden under a topping. It was not the consistency of any bread pudding i've ever had. I may have to order it again to prove my theory. Maybe the thing to do is have a few appetizers and a cocktail because only 1 of the 6 of us truly enjoyed their meal and nothing was boxed to take home. As I related my experience, a few did say, "yeah, my wife said she thought the fish was frozen." I understand you need to keep costs down, but at this price level, please do better. I will support you, but that might be in the form of Happy Hour.

We were really looking forward to trying 387 Oyster House after seeing their social media ads and reading positive reviews. Unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing. The food was mediocre overall and noticeably oversalted. The flounder I ordered which was highly recommended was served raw. I rarely send food back but had no choice in this case. To my surprise the same piece of fish was returned to the table and no adjustment or discount was offered. The food and drinks are priced at NYC levels which we are fine with when the quality matches but this did not. Sadly we will not be returning. If the owners are reading I would suggest lowering the lights to create a better ambiance and improving the acoustics or spacing the tables near the front window farther apart. It felt like we were having dinner with the table next to us. This was supposed to be a date night with my wife. And to top it off there is a 4 percent fee to pay by credit card. Wow.
