Had a wonderful breakfast, and made to order! Plenty of food, and tasted great, and the staff were wonderful.
The eggs Benedict here was so on point! They gave me a Mimosa and forgot the orange juice which if I could give them 10 stars for that, I would. French toast, also a must have. Thanks, Heavenly Roadside Cafe for our best meal in Cali yet!
My boyfriend took me to breakfast here a year sgo. We got here early and it was so peaceful especially with the views!! Food was delicious and friendly wait staff. I had a mimosa with a begian waffle and sausages. He ordered a California omelet with orange juice and we both had coffee. We even brought our little 13 pd. Dauschund chihuahua mix on the patio to eat and enjoy with us!! Everything was superb and can't wait to go back the next time I visit my god-family in the area...
We had a table of four and all the food was very good and arrived promptly. Service was excellent. The room was quiet - we could all hear each other. The dining rooms and the restrooms were spotless. We will return!
We stumbled upon this restaurant on our annual roadtrip. We got lucky with our selection. The food was so amazing! The potatoes are super yummy (in particular). The mimosas is superb! Service is great. Thank you from a passerby.
My son and I stopped here for breakfast on our drive from the Bay back to LA. It came highly recommended by the locals, and we could see why! I had the Green Goddess Eggs Benedict and my son had pancakes, eggs, and bacon. I asked for my potatoes to be well-done and they were PERFECT: they had the perfect amount of crispness and char while still being soft on the inside. The eggs were delicious and cooked perfectly. Our server was friendly and helpful. He stopped by to make sure my potatoes were right and offered to pass my approval on to the chef. When I ordered a mocha, I said I didn't want the whipped cream on top. My son spoke up and said he wanted my whipped cream, so I said ok to it to the server. He came back with my coffee and a whole cup of cream and a small cookie for my son to enjoy! So thoughtful and kind. 💜 If you couldn't already tell, I highly recommend this place!
The best French toast I’ve had in years!!! Lovely roadside breakfast spot. We loved it so much, we kept coming back for breakfast while staying here in Scotts Valley on a family trip to Santa Cruz. The coffee is strong, not that watered down coffee they serve at most breakfast places, which I loved. The bacon here is absolutely delicious! My kids loved the waffles too! Just an all-around great spot for breakfast. Make sure you come early or expect a wait. Our first day here we decided not to stop by because the parking lot was full. So we simply came back earlier. Thanks to all the staff for being so nice to us.
Busy morning, but got seated right away. I was dining alone, so that helped... larger groups had a small wait. I had the Green Goddess Benedict and it was absolutely delicious. I had to force myself to stop eating when I got full. It was too warm inside, and I had to open the window, otherwise, it was a good experience at Heavenly!
We gave Ross a run for his money yesterday lol. Our poor server Ross not only was not expecting a group like us, but we ran with the fact we had him on tilt and he did fantastic! We showed up and ordered but my husband's sense of humor had Ross confused if he should actually complete one of our parties order or not and Ross took it like a champ. The eggs Benedict was the best I've had in all of Santa Cruz and we all agreed between the service and food the only divide was bacon extra crispy or slightly oinking... so be specific on how you like your bacon.... if you're allowed to order it. Lol Ross will get it.
The Salmon Benedict was prepared perfectly. The eggs were just right, not runny or overcooked. The Hollandaise was exquisite! I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our dining experience this morning. I’ve had many Benedict’s, well done guys! We will stop by again on our next outing to Santa Cruz for sure. Our waitress Gade was also so pleasant and professional. Great service, great food, beautiful area… what’s not to love!?
Delicious breakfast in a country home felt atmosphere. Speedy and attentive staff. Best Belgium waffle I've eaten thus far in my life.
Food was great. I thoroughly enjoyed my cowboy Benedict while my granddaughter wolfed down her smiling pancakes. The staff was awesome. We had an infant in a big stroller and a toddler, so they sat us in the back room. Only they didn't forget about us. In fact, they were quite attentive, even bringing stickers to my granddaughter and sneaking a peak here and there at the baby. We had a very nice lunch, able to relax, visit and enjoy our meal.
Clearly a local favorite. Busy, but wait was less than 5 min. Cosy atmosphere, friendly staff. Portions were large - bring your appetite! Good variety on the menu. Had the Bronx omelette - food was hot and tasty. Definitely a good place to grab breakfast.
As soon as we walked in our party was warmly greeted by Caleb, who promptly sat us at a table and brought us our drink order. His uplifting personality was the perfect start to our meal and it only got better when we were greeted by our server, Ross. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. My son would also like to share they have the best hot cocoa he’s ever had.
Delicious food and amazing people. They truly made us feel like family and it was obvious it was out of genuine care. Our baby needed to eat as our food was delivered and the staff immediately offered to keep our food warm while we tended to him. It took longer then expected and they came over to chat and make sure everything was ok. They even remade a fresh order for my wife without us asking. The food was wonderful as always. We always come here whenever we visit and can't reccomend it enough.
Could not recommend this place more. I'm embarrassed. I've been driving down to Santa Cruz for decades and have never been in before. Best linguica scramble of my life!!!
5 stars should be saved for reviews of places like Heavenly. There food and service is so great, I make a special effort to try and meet my BFF here every Saturday or Sunday. The servings are almost comically large and I have never left disappointed. The wait staff are relaxed, friendly and in point. The cooks in the kitchen are exceptional. Mad love for this place!
Great food, generous portions, and attentive service. It's so good there is a wait to get seated...but well worth the wait. We were down in that area again and made a special effort to go there. Again...well worth it. We will be back. 😀
I saw they have a smoked salmon omelette on the menu and had to try it. It was delicious: the eggs were fluffy, the potatoes were well-seasoned, and the smoked salmon came in proper chunks that had a strong taste and tender texture. The service was just right, too. Attentive and friendly, but unobtrusive. I asked for cold water and they brought me a chilled decanter along with my glass. They noticed my table had no ketchup or hot sauce and asked if I wanted some. The food came in a very reasonable time, and I think the price was fair. And even though there was no open table by the window, they seated me so I could still see out the window. When they saw that my plate was clean, they were quick to bring the bill but were convenient instead of pushy. The atmosphere was clean and cozy. A familiar American diner, but with some local flavor. Pleasant window views include the surrounding woods and mountains. I definitely want to eat here again.
The family and I were passing through Scotts Valley on our Santa Cruz/Capitola trip. I reached out to a local friend, and he recommended this spot for a good brunch location. He was not wrong. Awesome food and great staff! We will def be back if in the area.
Got the Breakfast at Tiffany's. Portion sizes are large and the wait staff is friendly and attentive. Coffee is fresh brewed and has a good flavor. They have indoor and outdoor seating.
The place is a little bit pricey, but the food was well worth it. Good portion sizes, everything tasted fresh, the food came out hot, and the service was top notch. If I am vacationing in the area again. I would definitely return.
The food here is just excellent and quite a surprise. Portions were generous Service seems to be entirely done by high school kids however they were very friendly and polite though somewhat disorganized. Wait to get a table on a Saturday was about 20 minutes. Let me mention the food again, just outstanding and well worth visiting for.
Food at this cafe is outstanding. I went here with a friend of mine a couple months ago and knew I had to come back! I came by with a group of eight of my friends on our roadtrip, and all had different dishes and they were all fantastic. Portions are large and fairly priced, and even simpler dishes are exceptionally well-executed. The restaurant feels warm and welcoming and the food tastes like home. :)
Going to a restaurant is one of my keenest pleasures. Meeting someplace with old and new friends, ... eating food, surrounded by strangers, I think is the core of what it means to live a civilized life. -- Adam Gopnik We had lunch in this restaurant. A lot of food and delicious.... we were here with bunch of friends, will all go back again. Thanks for the good food.
By far the best breakfast in SLV. Love the bright atmosphere. Perfect over easy eggs.
Went here with my daughter and I was pleasantly surprised. Mimosas were great. Waffle was delicious and bacon cooked perfect. I asked for extra crispy. We were all happy with our food.
We went for breakfast with a dog so we’re seated outside . Lovely place to sit. Breakfast was usual onmlettes, potatoes , toast and mimosas however the amazing service and the ambience made it enjoyable. They have a dog patty too so dog friendly
The best breakfasts anywhere! Service is excellent and atmosphere is great. Only suggestion is to improve acoustics. The dining room has a bit of a noise echo. Maybe add soft background music?
This spot is perfect for family brunches or get together after a nice morning hike. Situated conveniently near key on/off ramps, heavenly roadside cafe offers some of the most satisfying comfort dishes in terms of both quality and quantity. Highlights include crab cake sandwich and the breakfast egg BLT. Portions were properly sized, price was very reasonable, and the ambiance of sitting on the patio under the trees was sublime. After 4 days of RV’ing Santa Cruze and Monterey, my family and I needed a nice hearty meal to make the drive back to SF. This place is perfect.
After reading reviews and talking with locals and visitors alike, Heavenly Roadside Cafe is the best breakfast destination in the Santa Cruz Mountains. The Avocado Toast & Eggs is delicious with poached eggs cooked to perfection along with toasty toast that remains crusty throughout as the fresh vegetables, avocado, goat cheese and potatoes do their dance. The Belgian Waffle with fruit is brilliant. Great staff. Smiling faces. Great experience. GH
Super friendly breakfast place where the staffs would make everything happen. One of us has to catch a flight. Nice patio seatings. Diverse breakfast choices. Attentive staffs keep refilling our coffee mugs and even offer drawing pencils for the kids. Delicious, memorable, grateful ! Thank you.
The food was fresh and hot! The service was on point! The restaurant was clean and homey! Thank you for a wonderful experience! Will be back every time we come through Scotts Valley.
The staff was welcoming and the food was yummy. We had brunch on a Saturday. The kids kept themselves busy drawing on the paper placed on the tables. The mimosas were yummy tried a pomegranate mimosa for the first time and it was delicious. They did a great job with the restrictions they have to abide by.
Haven't been to this place for years, but heard there was new management, and we were all glad we returned. Two of us had salmon scrambles, which were very good. There were lots of details we loved, such as: * It's kid-friendly with crayons and a paper tablecloth * My friend's fruit wasn't just dumped into a cup, it was fanned out and beautifully arranged. And the fruit was ripe. * The various jams have lumpy bits of fruit * Our server, Kelly, single handedly took and delivered orders from all the tables. We all had changes to our orders, which she noted and happily delivered. * The mimosa had fruit floating in it--beautiful. * It was decorated for Halloween! Heavenly is one of the best breakfast places in the Santa Cruz mountains. Get there early, as it tends to fill up.
Wonderful eatery in the forested mountains. Outside patio and clean quaint inside dinning room. The blood orange mimosa is yummy, see photo.the Greek omelet was full of good healthy foods and tasted delicious. The red potatoes home fries are a delite.. I would highly recommend this fine establishment.
Belgian waffle was really really good. Delicious bacon too. My only complaint was fried egg over medium was too watery, but perhaps I could have mentioned well done. Great cozy place to spend a Sunday morning. Only thing is the waiting area gets pretty claustrophobic when it's raining. Service was very quick. Great place for a breakfast! Only complaint is how pricey it is, but perhaps thats inflation based.
I am writing this while still waiting for my card to be returned after paying, because I simply couldn’t wait to review this AMAZING place! We rolled in with 1 minute notice for 9 people and were seated IMMEDIATELY, and received kind, welcoming service. Not only was everyone’s food brought out promptly, but every bite was some of the most delicious food we’ve had in the area! The bacon was truly the heavenly part of their name. You won’t be disappointed if you come here!
Heavenly Roadside Cafe 1210 Mt. Hermon Road, Scotts Valley, CA Late breakfast, early lunch for three, on the way to another destination. Place recommended by somebody (10Q!). Friendly-looking ranch house, large and airy dining room. I go straight to the restroom (after a long ride). Somewhat old-fashioned, in a good way, everything works, and immaculate. Big points. Taking a wrong turn coming back, encounter another large dining space completely filled by diners. I'm thinking - wow, this place is happening, for those in the know. Isabella, our friendly, beatiful and well-informed server appears, and answers a few dozen questions from my darling wife, without breaking a sweet smile. The order arrives in good time - 1. Large delicious kale (allegedly) salad and some type of a complicated egg dish for the wife 2. French toast for my boy (with locally baked bread, according to Isabella), with about a pound of perfectly cooked bacon on the side 3. And, agains my son's better judgement (because this is supposed to be a breakfast/brunch spot), I get a Ms. Piggy burger - a half pound of perfectly cooked and assembled deliciousness with all the fixings, and too much fries Nobody left hungry. A gem of an eatery! I'LL BE BACK
Our server was sweet ( petite, short dark hair, receipt says Gade ) and helped us sit out in the patio with our dogs. The air was cool, birds were chirping, and squirrels were out to play. It was quiet nice and relaxing. I got the breakfast at Tiffany's, huge serving of French toast and bacon! I was so excited to see how much bacon I got 😂 so many places give you thin cheap bacon. I was so happy. My husband got huevos rancheros and his potato's were so well done. Wish we could come back often but we're not from the area.
Food was so good i forgot to post a Pic 😆 Gade was our server...she is so sweet so attentive.... Even with five parties ahead of us.We were able to be seated in ten to fifteen minutes. Our food came out ridiculously fast. And it was so delicious. 10/10 recommend!!!!
What can we say, it was incredible ! So many great selections, and the quality was outstanding. I had the biscuits and gravy with some scrambled eggs, and she had French Toast and bacon and eggs, the bloody Mary was great and so was the coffee, we highly recommend this great establishment
Best breakfast I've ever had! The freshest fruit, tastiest bacon, and absolutely fantastic French toast and pancakes. The huevos rancheros was also incredibly delicious. We also had the club and CAB sandwiches for lunch the previous day, which was also excellent. Highly recommend. Best food in the area.
SO glad my friend brought me to this brunch spot!! The food was absolutely delicious and very filling as well. The tables were lined with brown paper and each table had some crayons for guests to draw with. Please enjoy my illustration of what I ordered, if I remember correctly it was the cowboy which was basically an eggs benny with country gravy on top; a combination that I never knew I needed but am now forever changed because of it.
Great location off Mount Hermon Road. First time here. It's worth the wait to be seated. Friendly hostess and wait staff. Creatively decorated inside with a "at home" feel/ atmosphere. Outdoor waiting area. Clean bathrooms. Free parking lot. Variety of coffee beverages, breakfast, salad, specialty sandwich, and burger options made to order. Food served hot, fresh with creative flare. Kid menus available. They provided crayons and a large piece of brown paper covering tables for kids or kids at heart to draw on when seated. Highly recommend. Would go again.
My wife and I often go here to have Breakfast either before or after the Fasting, Prayer Mountain of the World. We stopped by and waited maybe 25 minutes to be seated. I ordered the "Baja Especial" with wheat toast and Breakfast style potatoes. My wife ordered the "Miss Piggy" burger meal with fries (sorry no photos). The coffee was delicious and Hot. Our food was brought out in time, the flavor was exquisite and the portions were just right. Let's just say compared to some other places where my wife and I go for breakfast, this place is less expensive and serve a good Portion for your money! Spacious and clean inside. I recommend this place to everyone and anyone who wishes to do something different and get out of the house with the kids or with the wife and experience a change. They do have a children's menu as well!
Excellent Breakfast again! This place never disappoints… The Eggs Benedict with the homemade Hollandaise Sauce is one of the best I’ve ever had. My friend got the fruit covered waffle and it was also very, very good. So much fresh fruit that he couldn’t finish it… even though he tried!
They have a nice variety of meal selections, generous portions and reasonable prices. Nice dog friendly patio seating for sunny days and cozy indoor spots for when it's foggy or raining. The patio lends good views of San Lorenzo Valley and parts of highway 9. The staff was friendly and very on too of things. Minimal wait time once you get seated. They could use a larger parking area, but the Benedict is to die for.
Visited yesterday and very pleased with food and service. Friendly attentive waitress and enormous portions. I had the turkey burger with apple - to die for !! also the sweet potato fries. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was because my husband thought his Black and Blue burger was a bit shy on the blue cheese. Otherwise all was good.
The brunch menu is great. It evokes the American Southwestern diner experience. The exterior seating is lovely with a variety of flowers and pollinators flitting about. The interior is a bit dingy, but it doesn't bring down the overall experience. Wait times are generally short. This is one of the better diners in the Felton/Scott's Valley area.
Perfect place to grab breakfast! Quick and friendly service from all staff coupled with a variety of delicious menu items. I really appreciate that the items were not salty; I really dislike it when served something salty to overcompensate for food quality. Looking forward to chowing down on an omelette and those roadside potatoes after my next morning hike.
I had an iced mocha to drink. It tasted great! To eat, I had the biscuits and gravy with eggs. The gravy was excellent, and so were the biscuits. The eggs were just a little under seasoned, but were other wise great. Staff were very friendly. It did take about 5-10 minutes to be seated though. They should hire a little extra help.
Heading out of Santa Cruz, we decided to stop off in Scotts Valley for a look around and a bite to eat. Not being from the area, we rely on Yelp for a recommendation. Grateful for the reviews because this place is a hidden gem. Literally right off the side of the road. If you're not watching closely...you'll pass it. Cute outdoor seating area, service was great. We decided on breakfast, but their lunch menu looked tasty as well. I'm always on the hunt for the perfect benedict, theirs did not disappoint. They offer a bloody beer which is on point. Half pint glass of Bloody Mary mix with a Corona. Perfect spice!
Met family there for Sunday brunch so wait times were a little bit longer. I had the huevos rancheros. They were California style but still ok. Everyone else’s eggs, omelettes, waffles, etc. was reported to be good. We sat outside on the deck. It was nice and mostly shaded. They do allow dogs on the deck and I personally think it’s too small for that. Indoor seating looked like it might have been a little tight as well. The staff was very attentive.
Love this place. I can say it can be a hidden gem. It is family run business and has been around for for decade. They serve American style dishes which you will find at most of American Diner place. We arrived for brunch/lunch and it was busy that time. They have indoor and outdoor sitting and we chose outdoor. It was nice sitting area where you can freely speak. We order Benedict's Place, Don Juan Salad, just two eggs, potato and taost, extra bacon and chicken fried steak. the portion is good and price wise, they are reasonable. The food was yummy. I like the benedict and also fried steak and the gravy. Overall service was ok.
I had to get my order to go, so I can’t properly review the service at the table, but with the encounter I had while ordering they were AMAZING, very kind, funny, and just a pleasure to talk to. When our food did come out they added in a bunch of sauces and packets that I wasn’t even sure I needed, it felt like you were truly being taken care of. The food itself even after a 12 minute drive home was incredible, if I had to choose a criticism it would the lack of seasoning on the potatoes BUT this didn’t take away from the phenomenal dish! I will definitely recommend this establishment, and I will absolutely be coming back to dine in this time
I recently visited Heavenly Roadside Cafe and had a mixed experience. The food was definitely a highlight—delicious and served in generous portions, especially the bacon and sausage that come with the combo orders. The coffee was fresh and tasty, but the cups are quite small, and the servers didn't come around as often as I would've liked, leaving me wishing for a refill more than once. The interior has a charming, old-timey vibe, but the lighting is a bit off. The mix of fluorescent and warm lights creates a strange atmosphere. The furniture could use some updating; the chairs felt a bit unstable and worn. The tables are also quite small, so if you're with a larger group, you might feel a bit cramped. This establishment unfortunately does not offer active duty military, veteran, or first responder discounts. On the plus side, our server was pleasant, though it was clear the restaurant was very busy. Overall, it’s a good spot for a hearty breakfast, but there are definitely areas that could use some improvement.
This place has a lot of potential. Food was good, the rooms echo and the host pack them like sardines. It was so loud that I could hear the person infront of me. But the waitresses were kind and attentive. We asked to be sat outside, but they did not know how to work the heat lamps. This place could be amazing with a cleaner space, spread people between the two rooms and outside.
Good food and friendly service. The waitress messed up taking my order and brought me the regular Eggs Benedict when I order the Smoked Salmon Benedict and tried to play it off like I ordered it wrong. She brought back the right order very quickly. I think the chef just took the ham off put a very small amount of smoked salmon and more sauce. It ended up having way to much sauce.
Good food. Need some new chairs in here though. Rickety, feel like they're gonna collapse 😂
I liked that there was paper on the wood tables. Felt very clean. The food was ok, nothing to write home about. I had the Breakfast at Tiffany’s. My order had very burnt French Toast which was replaced. It was pretty flavorless. The sausage was very tasty. The coffee very good.
Over a 15 minute wait and no one came to ask what we’d like to drink… at the ten minute mark I notified the hostess and still no one showed up. But everyone around us got their drinks and orders taken.
Heavenly Roadside Cafe is a cute little roadside spot with a lot of potential. We were drawn in by the amazing reviews, but unfortunately, our experience left us quite disappointed. My wife and I ordered the loaded roadside potatoes, but they arrived cold, as if everything had been batch-made and left to sit until someone placed an order. My daughter's French fries were similarly unappetizing—cold and stale. Additionally, we were seated next to a curtain that separated the dining area from the kitchen and storage. This made for a distracting experience, as I was constantly bumped by staff moving behind the curtain, the noise and cigarette smoke smell from the kitchen was quite overwhelming. Overall, while the cafe has charm and promise, the food quality and dining environment need significant improvement.
