This place offers a fun variety of things to do: listen to live music, karoke on Thursdays, pool out back and pretty decent food. Their drinks & bartending staff are top notch.

We were here with friends. It was a music group and they took amazing music. The place is unique and the expectations were full.I truly recommend this place if you love bars in the mountains.

Absolutely the best venue I played in so far in California. I performed here on Friday Dec 22. The staff was very helpful, even gave me a few more black coffees than I originally needed early on in the night. I felt good playing for the people there, I think some of the crowd really got what I was doing and got to build a little community. This venue did the right thing by me and I hope to come back in the near future! Total class and I highly recommend Henfling's Tavern, Ben Lomond CA

My wife and I decided to check this place out after visiting the Ace Hardware next door. In fact, we were the first ones there before noon yesterday. Such a nice, friendly vibe. We decided to get beers (tasty local brews) and tacos (very good!). Everyone was so friendly, from the chef to the bartender. Will return.

What a great little dive in the city of Ben Lomond. Stumbled upon this place late one night after finishing a project up in the mountains. The service was Quick and friendly, small kitchen you can watch your food being prepared. What a great burger!!! So good came back a couple nights later and ate again. This time they had locals playing and singing on a small stage. Definitely a go back location when I'm in the area again.

One of the greatest gems in the SCM. Great staff, great space, great food. They have all kinds of games, a jukebox, pool table, darts, dice and cards. This place is a gem. Great, reasonably priced bar food. Always a colorful and lively crowd. Solid draft selection. I drive 30 minutes from home to here pretty frequently and never feel like I wasted the trip.

This is a mountain staple for all kinds of people. They have fun trivia and music, the Halloween decorations rule and the food is super. Love the poppers and curly fries.

It's always a fun place to go. The ownership has changed, and they're doing good things. The menu has changed. But the food is still good. We love Gayle and glad she's still there. ❤️

Wow what a cool place. First time stopping by. Rode by and saw some bbq action going on outside. Came in and was super well received by bartender. While I was deciding on my drink the bbq cheff walked in the bar and gave me a free taste of his "bbq bloody mary". Delicious bbq, delicious bloody mary and awesome upbeat welcome. Made my day already.

This place is so fun! Friendly people, good food, and a pool table. Adam is a bomb cook! Weather you order the crispy chicken caesar salad or chicken pesto, or the chicken melt with wedge fries, you won't be disappointed! Good menu. What more could you want?!

Karoke on Thursday nights is top notch! They even have really good tasting food. Pool table out back is a draw for local pool sharks so bring your A game. Jukebox app is fun too.

Taco Tuesday did not disappoint either. 1/2 price and very good. Service was prompt, courteous and the regulars were quite nice to chat with. They have events going on throughout the week for people to join in and have fun - or, not. Pool table and larger area off the bar to the back if you want a bit of privacy. Lots of bikers come and go, but they’re super friendly and good natured. Great place for food and brews!

It's the quasi - local dive joint, and once upon a time biker bar in Ben Lomond. If you are lucky you may spy one of the last living mountain hippies, looking like he just rode down the mountain on a red 1967 BSA Lightning with a sidecar draining a glass of Jameson's at a dark corner table, but don't try and take his picture if he's already drunk. It might get nasty. But the times they are-a-changing. Now that the WFH gangs from the 101 corridor and LA have anointed the San Lorenzo Valley as their new ShangriLa, the entire landscape is in full blown gentrification. What was once a place where many of the folks were either wanted by a badge or wanted by absolutely no one at all - a place where you could stay lost - is now hardly there. Catch what is left before someone blinks and it disappears.

Henfling's is a great place to hang out with friends! Music could be quieter when there's not a band, but otherwise great to chill there.

You can't go wrong with a dive bar with good food. Serving the simplest of steaks and burgers, a good collection of booze. To enjoy yourself make sure you are comfortable with a loud crowd that seem to know each other. There is regularly a rock band playing. A smoking section out back. This is not a place for quite and peace. And it might be a little intimidating.

It's a dive bar, let's be honest. But the food is BOMB. And they get live music with no cover. They had a nice selection on tap, but ladies probably won't like the bathrooms.

This place had good food and great service. It's a local biker watering hole and the atmosphere reflects that fact. They have live music on weekends. Great ride up thru hwy 9!

We arrived mid power outages and flooding, and they entire place was doing their best to make the place flow! They offered 2 food options, and the pulled pork sandwiches were the best we have ever had! Wow! Put those babies on the menu! This area of Ben Lomand has been hit so hard by the weather of Jan 2023, please come visit them!

The grill is great. Lots of History in that biker bar, clientele is from that era

Biker diver bar on scenic Highway 9, Santa Cruz mountains. Stage large enough to accommodate a 45-piece live band. Small but fun dance floor surrounded by five or six tables. Back porch area is covered and has portable heaters setup for cold mountain evenings. A quieter place to hang out with friends and drink.

Nice rustic natural looking woodsy cabin atmosphere. I stopped in for a beer after coming west down Hwy #9 on a motorcycle ride. Always a good stop. While they have food I didn't eat any so I can't comment there.

Nice rustic natural looking woodsy cabin atmosphere. I stopped in for a beer after coming west down Hwy #9 on a motorcycle ride. Always a good stop. While they have food I didn't eat any so I can't comment there.

2025 UPDATE: New, newer owner(s), same as Aroma Restaurant just a block down the road, is doing an exceptional job bringing this legendary roadhouse venue back on its feet after a 2024 fall down. Live music weekends, trivia Tuesdays, Flingo Wednesdays, and dare I say the crowd is friendlier and happier now that a few certain patrons are no longer present. Kitchen is open late ever night, despite what Google Maps says. And the food is genuinely delicious. 'Nuff said... The new renovations in late 2018 really brought this place up to par. It looks basically the same, but the bathrooms are much nicer, the floor is much more level, and the place is just all around cleaner and feels more "solid", while still retaining the distinct, cozy, mountain cabin charm that has always been an intrinsic characteristic of Henflings (aka "Chicken Toss"). Upgrades to the kitchen and bar were welcome and due, and 8ts nice to sit on new, padded, upholstered, swivel barstools. I went on a "soft open" Wednesday shortly after they reopened, and had a good time playing "Flingo" (Henflings Bingo). Of course, mostly everyone else there knew everyone else, but it wasn't my first time at that rodeo, and both my smile and my cowboy hat seemed well received. And everyone just seemed happy to be back in their local after almost a year closed. BTW, I have seen some GREAT musical performance at Henfings. The mountains are rife with talented and seasoned musicians, and this is a great, tiny venue to experience them, while practically dancing on their toes and guitar chords.

Updated as of 2022 The staff is much friendlier and more responsive. The general vibe is still imo exclusionary and not particularly welcoming but that is a function of our locals that frequent the place, not the business. I'm local, I get it Grill continues to be my go-to for dinner when I need to eat after work and I don't have the energy left to do anything but eat then go to bed. Great folks on the grill. UPDATED: After thinking about the reply from the owner, I can agree that my review is not fair to what will be a different business, same name. I endured the place for many, many years as it was. If the owner is sincere about being mindful of their upcoming staff, and I have no reason to think they are not, then they deserve a chance to bring to our town their vision of Henfling's without being tainted by old baggage. I changed this one star to three. When you open, I look forward to meeting you. I hope to give a stellar review one day. Not for the review's sake, but, because good communities thrive when they have good businesses. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Closed, currently, while ownership is transferred and required repairs completed, Henfling’s is rumored to reopen in September or October of 2018. When it does, I hope they implement something called customer service, preferably through employees that aren’t consistently unpleasant and hostile. The food here is over the top good. The women behind the bar are the worst of the Valley. YMMV.

Came here before and the service was amazing but for today the bartender ether had a problem with me and my wife just because we wanted to eat here. Not sure if he just didn’t like us due to our race or he just didn’t want to work. I had to get up and technically do part of HIS JOB. The guy didn’t wanna take a couple of steps to our table he would rather have me do everything for him. To top it all off he was demanding a tip from my wife even after that awful service. The chief in the other hand was amazing and was helping us for the most part i did for sure leave a tip for him. Only reason i came Ben Lomond is for this restaurant but after my experience it is best to never come here again.
