Scotts Valley Canton Restaurant

Best food ever! I can order it spicier and it will be perfect. Beautifully decorated and always very clean. Happy place with smiling customers. Perfect cook on their chicken.

Excellent food. We were very impressed. All the vegetables were very fresh and abundant. The Wor Wonton soup was full of nice large chunks of nice vegetables (not overcooked) and meat and wontons, of course. The soup was served in two containers, one for the broth and the other for the meat/wontons/veggies/ but I see that they did this to keep the veggies other stuff from getting over-cooked in the broth during the journey home. They were all absolutely delicious when we got home (the sliced carrots not turned to mush). The Cantonese Fried rice was full of stuff as well, and not just the usual frozen peas and carrot mix sprinkled into the fried rice. There was tons of fresh egg and pork and chicken, all shredded and not just the usual small cubed chunks. Usually when we get fried rice, there's more rice than other things; that's not the case here. We live in SLV and haven't eaten Chinese food in a long time because we haven't been impressed with the fresh veggies on anything local. We are happy to stumble across this gem of Scott's Valley. Thank you! We will definitely be coming by again!

Our personal favorites are: Hot and sour soup - seriously the best and spicy Mongolian Beef - not very spicy but very flavorful Any fried rice - good flavor nice and fresh Pork Pot Stickers - thick outside and large, very tasty over all There are more but these are the ones we get most often. Sometime we will go there just for the hot and sour soup. I did notice a lot/almost all of the craft beers are currently out, just a heads up if that was one of the things drawing you in here.

Best Chinese food in Scotts Valley - and best in Santa Cruz county in my opinion. Their hot n sour soup that comes with their lunch specials is the best I’ve had anywhere. Def try their lunch specials. Always fast - hot - served with a smile. My friend and I recently had an amazing experience ordering from Canton of Scotts Valley. We are vegetarians and whenever we order food we request that there be no oyster sauce or eggs in our food and what we usually get is something watery and bland, unfortunately. On Monday we tried Canton restaurant and wow, was it was a surprise! They were friendly and happy to accomodate our dietary request. I ordered the Mongolian tofu and my friend ordered the mixed vegetables in garlic sauce ...and the sauces were so rich and flavorful We were so amazed and raved about the meal as we ate! You see, I was raised in New York where Chinese food is so delectable. I have tried so many restaurants in California and none come even close to the flavors that I reminisce. I thought it was because I have been requesting no oyster sauce. However, Canton restaurant can make food flavorful without that ingredient and I am thrilled beyond belief. I actually went back the next day and ordered the same Mongolian tofu because I had no leftovers and I already missed that flavor! This is now going to be our go-to place for yummy food. Now i know why everyone raves about Canton!

Stumbled onto this restaurant while staying in the area. 3 families shared the food an$ everyone was pleased. The Szechuan Chicken was a favorite along with the Broccoli Beef. The pot stickers were also delicious Ling with the chicken chow menu. Would definitely stop by again when in the area.

Wow! Can’t believe I’ve never been here. 🤯 We don’t get Chinese food very often and have tried a couple of other places in town, but this is my new favorite. We placed a takeout order and the woman who answered the phone was friendly and helpful. She knew the menu and could tell me which items were GF (even double checked with the kitchen) As someone with food sensitivities, it’s much appreciated. Prices were fair and the food was really good! We ordered: Orange Tofu Vegetable Fried Rice Cream Cheese Wontons Edamame

The food is delicious! We love the freshness and the quality of their food! My favorite is the String Bean Chicken. The chicken is tender white meat, which is so buttery and delicious. My husdand's favorite is Sweet and Sour Pork. The tempura batter is light and delicate. It coats the tender pieces of pork perfectly. Their pork fried rice is the best I have ever tasted. Our server was sweet and attentive. The resturant is clean and tastefully decorated. When we lived in the area this resturant was one of our favorites. Now everytime we come to town we stop in for a meal! It's consistantly delicious! Yum!

EAT HERE! this place is clean, the staff is SO friendly, the prices are great, the portions are huge AND the food is incredible. The best Chinese food anywhere near Santa cruz. Ive never had a bad bite here. I promise you will not regret it! What are you still doing reading this review? Get over to canton!

We came here tonight for the first time for dinner and the food was all around amazing! Very tasty and extremely generous portions. We had several dishes and appetizers and we really loved the Szechuan Green Beans, the walnut shrimp, beef broccoli and the vegan Canton Tofu. They have tons of vegan options which is a plus. And the service was absolutely wonderful! So warm and welcoming. Also super kid friendly! We loved it here and will be back for sure!

I never write reviews, so you gotta know this is special! I was searching for Chinese food near me and this restaurant was on the list. I am VERY picky about my Chinese food, so I decided to look at some of the reviews. I saw that people wrote about the food being great, which is what I was looking for. But some were saying that the service was not so great and I didn’t find that to be the case at all! The young person at the counter was very attentive and polite, and made recommendations of their favorites when asked. They were super sweet actually! And the food indeed was amazing. I absolutely recommend this little hole in the wall! The orange chicken was tender and delicious. And the pork fried rice is the best I’ve had in a very long time. The one and only suggestion that I would make is to add more gravy to the egg foo young. I will most definitely be back!

Great Chinese restaurant with craft beer on tap! They seem to favor sweet flavors as everything I have tried has a sweet sauce. Lunch and dinner specials are a good value and you can add fried rice for just a buck and a half!

Got takeout here since my regular place is closed on Sundays. The food was tasty enough, but the dishes’ preparation was not what I expected. The wonton soup was served in two containers- one just broth, the other all the solid components. Generous portion but odd to me. The Mongolian beef had no green onions and the beef wasn’t crispy, the addition of mushrooms and zucchini didn’t help. The eggplant dish was too soupy. The potstickers were good and well prepared. I’m unlikely to return unless I just have to have Chinese on a Sunday.

They were not ashamed to sell it to me anyway knowing that I would not notice until I opened the box that it was nothing but lettuce and chicken with slivers of carrots. Pitiful.
