Really good chopped beef sandwich for a great price. I also got a brisket and sausage plate with beans and potato salad. Good Texas style food that still isn't overpriced. I drove through so I can't speak to the atmosphere, but the drive thru was nice! LOL

Great food! I have never been disappointed eating there and I go there often. If you go at peak times expect to wait in line, it's worth the wait so, deal with it!

A great BBQ place to take the family to. Especially if you're just passing through town. The place is a staple for the locals. There is a traditional environment with pie's and great BBQ. Me and my father really enjoy the chopped beef sandwiches while the spouse enjoys the sliced brisket for her sandwiches. Their coffee is amazing and their sliced sausage is reasonably priced. They have plenty of sides too!

Fantastic BBQ and sides. We bring out little girl here and they are so sweet to her too. The chopped BBQ sandwich is amazing, so are the mustard greens and max and cheese. The coconut cream pie is amazing too. Oh and a super clean bathroom. And drive thru if you don’t want to get out.

We ate here on our way from Dallas to Houston. The food was delicious and the service was superb. The cashier and manager treated us and our kids like loyalty. The food had a great price and even better taste. Definitely the spot to stop by, it was conveniently located next to the interstate. Even tho we came in 30 min before closing on a Sat night, they never rushed us and allowed our kids to take their time. Hands down the best BBQ place we have had. We fed a family of 3 adults and 4 children for under $50.

Stopped here on my way through Sealy. Drive through was quick. The chopped beef sandwich was excellent. Just the right amount of bbq sauce and some onions. Good tasting brisket and cold Ice tea.

All in all I would say this place is pretty good they have fast friendly service, nice little old timey environment, great sweet tea, very unique tasting bbq sauce, decent meal portions and great desert.

I have been eating here forever 20 years. Best potato salad Best Coleslaw wonderful pecan smoked BBQ also the freshest fried shrimp you're going to find this side of the Gulf Coast. What was that way 20 years ago it's that way today. They're extremely consistent and they also have wonderful homemade pies. They are a must on your trip down I-10

This is a typical Texas barbecue place except for the vast menu that they have including a grill. They also have some high quality desserts. Did I mention that they make their own barbecue sauce which is absolutely State fare quality. I could see going there just to eat their side dishes. There must be 15 side dishes

I eat here every time I'm in Houston and that is every other week at the moment...I normally don't do bar b que but my hubby wanted to try it and their stuff bake potatoes are amazing we always get the 2 meats and they are loaded and well worth the money it cost us 45$ that's 2 potatoes and 2 drinks and it's not fast food so I'm all in and the staff there are amazing down to earth people and they make their customers feel so welcome so it might look like a hole in the wall but I can guarantee it's far from it... They rock sealy Texas let me tell you and I drive all the way from Paige tx so that has become our normal half way mark no where else will do

Honestly everything was great! Brisket, 8/10. I normally focus on the bark of brisket, but this got a higher rating because of how deep the smoke flavor was, and how juicy it was. Sausage, 8.5/10. It was perfect texture, the fat content was right, overall a tasty sausage. Green beans, 7/10. Pretty good and fresh tasting. Twice baked potatoes, 8/10. Done well, good butter content. And I like that it was all mashed up skin and all. Sauce 7/10. It's a sweet sauce, mild vinegar taste, (I don't like vinegar) but hot and pairs well with the brisket.

This place is our favorite BBQ spot in Sealy , TX!! They always turn -on their Southern Charm& make everyone feel welcome!! I , honestly, don’t know where to begin, but I will say they have excellent BBQ Sauce; delicious homemade bread!! Wish I could have some of that in CA!!

Over the years we've eaten about 1/2 the items off the menu at Hinze's...The brisket is Really Good, although the sauce is too thin and vinegary for our taste, but that doesn't stop us from orderin' the brisket...Burgers are awesome, fries are good, and the onion rings are excellent...The sides are all tasty. like all sides their too small, but they work...Sweet tea is good, and necessary, the cokes all dispense with good flavor too...The staff is good at gettin' ya' anything you might need after you get your order...If you haven't tried it, you should...tg

Stopped by this bbq restaurant on my way back from Bellville. Picked up a 3 meat (brisket, leg quarter, and pork ribs) with onion rings and fried okra as sides. Brisket was lean cut but very moist and tender. Good beefy flavor and not oversmoked! Chicken was juicy and had flavor all the way to the bone! Not a single dry piece of chicken! Pork ribs were good and not completely fall off the bone but very tender. To me they were perfect. All seasoning for the meats was very good. Not heavy on salt or pepper or heavy on sweetness. They let the smoke do most of the work. 👍Onion rings were thin and flaky.👍 Okra was better than most restaurants that I have been to! Overall a great experience!

First time here, food was delish! I had the brisket with fries, corn and mash. Brisket was moist. Fries were crunchy. Corn was out of this world, my favorite. We ended up ordering another. My picky kids licked their plate clean. We ate so good, forgot to take pics. Price point was very good in comparison to other BBQ places. Will definitely return!

We had a great experience at Hinze's BBQ& Catering. We were driving on a Sunday evening from Houston towards San Antonio and thanks to fellow Google reviewers found Hinze's BBQ. The prices were reasonable, the service was good, tables were clean and there were plenty of places to sit down relax, enjoy great music and dinner. The two meat plate was only $13.99 and the one meat plate was $11.99 these are great prices because where we live a two meat plate would easily be $16-$17. The three of us all at our fill and shared a large piece of chocolate cake. Brisket was tender, our sides were great and the portions were large. We will be back next time we drive through the area.

A coworker and I arrived in town ready for lunch. We ate at a different BBQ place yesterday and figured to check this one out too. Not being from here we let the gentleman behind us go ahead and go as he knew what he wanted, and we still were trying to make up our mind. He also gave us a couple of recommendations which was very helpful. I got the turkey and sliced pork, pinto beans and mustard greens and it was a very good meal, portions were plentiful. I thought the pinto beans were some of the best I’ve ever had.

I got a three meat 🍖 deluxe plate with sliced brisket, sliced pork and ribs and for dessert. I got the chocolate explosion and for the drink I got a jumbo half lemonade, half tea everything was delicious and the sauce was perfect. It was sweet and savory and chunky and everything was dippable in that delicious sauce. They had a lot of options for sides. I chose buttered carrots, which were sweet and mashed potatoes with white gravy. They had different gravy’s as options as well. I did try the okra on my aunts plate, and she also had baked beans which were delicious as well. Highly recommend you order at the counter and you wait for your order number on your receipt to pick up.

Was in town for 5 days and ate here 3 times. Food and service was the same each time. I like the 3 meat plate with quarter chicken, 2 ribs, sliced sausage, potato salad, and pinto beans. The Chicken has a mild smokey flavor and taste so good you dont need any bbq sauce. The ribs are the same mild smoke flavor, soft meat with a really good taste no bbq sauce needed. But the bbq sauce has a real good taste to it you have to put some on. Sausage is also A+. Potato salad had a good taste and beans were made perfect with no craziness, good job. Dont forget to try the Fried Corn, A+ and coconut cream pie.

Hinze's BBQ in Sealy Texas. This was really delicious food. We ordered the 2 meat plate with 2 sides and a drink, Reasonably priced. They also have a very fast & efficient drive thru.

After reviewing the reviews on Hinze's and seeing all the mixed reviews,we decided to still give it a try.... we were glad we did! The staff was all nice , and the food came in reasonable time. I had chicken and ham with pinto's and fried okra and my wife had a potato with brisket and sausage on it, we both were really happy with the quality and taste of the food and the price was reasonable. We will definitely return... we found our new BBQ place.

Service was great, friendly staff, clean dining area but food has changed over past few years. Link Sausage was hard, dry, and smoke flavor was undetectable. Brisket was dry and smokeless with no outer char. Baked beans had tough skin on them. Self-serve House BBQ sauce was still good and kept hot. Obviously, some former cooks are no longer there. They still have lots of desserts, but I was afraid to try those after other disappointments. All my opinion only and i urge you to try for yourself.

I have to take away points from this location. This was my 1st time eating here. And I paid for a 2 way (CHICKEN n 2 TINY RIBS, with a KID size GREENS n POTATO SALAD $20), and it was portion size for a little person. The fish sandwich 🥪 well let's just say (use a larger piece of fish $18) it was giving BUN n SALAD. Then we ordered a slice of APPLE PIE n KEY LIME PIE 🥧 😋 and we didn't receive them. I was passing through from the express way. Overall I will give them 4 star's.

So, we tried the original location last year, and this location today. Both locations were awesome. The meats were great hot, moist, and flavorful (tried sausage, brisket, and turkey) on their own or with the sauce. The portions were a bit small for the price, but technically correct with respect to healthy living, and the sides were great (tried mash potatoes, green beans, pinto beans, and potato salad). The fresh bread was better than homemade. While the decadent chocolate cake was not made by the store, they did their research, because it has made my all-time top 5 desserts. All of the staff were nice, and the newer store was nice. We'll be back for sure.

The service is fast and friendly I got the three Meat mill mostly for the ribs I got one big one and one toothpick size but the meat was still good the coleslaw still have big chunks of cabbage it was different but still good the urinal in the bathroom is for a man over 6 foot overall it was good I will return

It was pretty clean inside. Also cozy. My toddler got confused and removed his shoes upon entering :) Stuff wasn't very friendly besides one young lady. Others mostly ignored me when I was trying to get an extra cup and and an extra fork. But the food was delicious. I took brisket and cucumber salad the other reviewers pointed out. Also mashed potatoes. The size of the meal was just right for my husband and too much for me even though I shared it with my toddler. By the way he loved the brisket and he is super picky. Last night, 3/7, someone working the drive-thru scanned our receipt. My wife does one of those points apps and when she tried our receipt she found it was already scanned. Just a weird thing for one of the employees to do.

Good bbq but very expensive. $23 a pound for sliced brisket. And the menu says it’s cheaper so when you get to the window the total will take your breath away. Spent almost $100 and they didn’t give me onions or pickles or anything and when I got home it was chopped brisket instead of sliced. No napkins. Good is decent. So anyway… three stars from me.

Are here on a Sunday afternoon, not much business going on. Ordered for 4 people, paid $48 and some change. Just wasn't impressed. My husband ordered a Chicken fried steak, was very thin and burnt. Returned it and asked for a chicken fried chicken instead, but still received another chicken fried steak. Told him to eat it as it was better than the first. We were only passing through town, so I won't be going out of my way to eat here again. Just my experience. Your's may be different.

The ribs were dry, flavor was decent. Brisket was flavorless no smoke ring. Chopped brisket was so dry. BBQ sauce tasted like cheap grocery store BBQ Sauce. Mac and cheese was flavorless and baked Beans tasted like Mustard. I'd rather eat Buc-cees BBQ than this and I don't like Buc-cees BBQ.

This was my second time stopping at Hinze in Sealy, Tx. The first time I had the sausage and brisket plate. The sausage and sides were good, but not the brisket. This time I opted for the large catfish plate w/ fries and cucumber salad. The catfish was crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. While the catfish strips were small it was plenty and the tartar sauce was on point. staff was friendly and polite and the lobby area was a good ole Bbq joint vibe. If you’re hungry, and on I-10 near Sealy Texas, I recommend you stop by get me some catfish here.

I had high hopes for this bustling place considering I read a lot of good reviews and just a handful of bad. In the end it is a mixed bag. I ordered the 2 meat plate with chicken and brisket. Side of dirty rice and cole slaw. The brisket was well smoked but tough. It could have spent more time in the smoker to loosen up. I even asked for moist but that was just well undercooked lean brisket with barely a smoke ring but lots of fat on top. I would have preferred to stay with the tough as it at least had flavor. So 2 out 5. The chicken was decent with good flavor but was a tad dry. 2.5 out 5. The sides were the stars. The dirty rice was cooked perfectly and had great flavor. 4 out 5. The cole slaw is one of the best vinegar based slaws I have had with sweet vinegar(maybe apple cider?), pepper cabbage and carrot strips. Just right balance. Couldn’t get enough of it. 5 out 5. So if you love sides, this is the place. If you love great bbq, find another place in bellville or Wharton.

I ordered one meat and two sides. I had chopped brisket that was fast food quality. The baby carrots were overly sweet. The baked beans were ok. My other half ordered three meats…ribs were really dry. The sausage was the best thing on his plate after he dunked it in bbq sauce. The brisket tasted non fresh just like the ribs. The twice backed potato was more like a potato salad. I asked the cashier if the beans were sweet or not, and he didn’t know. That should have been the only red flag I needed.

1/2 my sandwich was deckle fat. No soap in the bathroom, the lady taking orders at the counter was kind of rude, just walked off on people in the middle of a transaction, no smile, not friendly. The sauce is just sugar and vinegar, taste like ketchup. That was my first and last time there. Shows little regard for customers, serving the throw away fat off the brisket and charging the same as a real sandwich.

Over all the portions of the food are extremely small definitely not worth the price pay $15 for a plate to meet. You only get about four slices of brisket and two little ribs. Ridiculous. actually got filled a lot better at Whataburger.

Brisket was so dry and really the worst I've ever had in the state of Texas, sausage wasn't much better. Their BBQ tasted like ketchup with little meat chunks. Only thing that was any good was the potato salad.

I didn’t find this barbecue very good. They were out of probably 5 or 6 menu items which isn’t a good start and then for one meal it was almost $20 which I find a bit steep for being in the middle of no where in Texas. The meat was dried out and the green beans didn’t have any flavor. The pie tasted like it was made a week prior. Won’t be returning.

On June 28-2025. On our way back to Houston we stopped like we always do to enjoy BBQ. On this occasion we had a bad Management experience. I got my food and took a seat in the area to the left when facing the register. We took a seat on the first table facing the main parking lot. One bite in to my meal the manager raised her voice to tell us that the dinning area was closed and that it was clean and sanitized! I took my tray and moved to the main dining area. Instead of walking up to our table and ask us to move for those specific reason, she stood at the entrance to dining area and made it clear for us to move. Managers are a very important asset to a restaurant establishment but can also be a liability.

It was nothing to rave about. Nothing was great or delicious. Some of the food was ok, the brisket but not so good as to go back. Ribs dry, Mac n cheese flavorless and baked beans for the sides . Nice lady who took the order. I've never left BBQ on a plate before this experience.

Up until today. Everything was good. Ordered two brisket plates. Pinto beans and potato salad. There was hardly any beef. Looked like a kids meal. And no bread.

Usually pretty good. Today took about 30 minutes to get food. People who ordered way after us kept getting their food before us. I bought a whole pie. After buying the pie, they told me they accidentally sold a slice of my pie :(

I got the regular plate, 2 meat & 2 sides. I ordered ribs and sliced brisket with a side salad & green beans. I'll start with the salad itself was good. The ranch dressing was way too runny. The green beans were straight out of a can. The brisket had no flavor and was a bit dry and tough. The 1 rib I got was ok. It's texture was good, but didn't have great flavor. I did get a bit of smoke, but not much. They are a Pepsi place and not coke, just fyi. I left with pretty much everything on my plate, but we can now mark this place off our list.

Waited on hold for 8 mins to be told they needed a credit card to make an order. I was paying with a gift card, so I had to wait in line for 25 mins just for them to not be able to use the card, because the manager that just left is the only one that can… The food is fine, 3/5, besides the dirty rice that desperately needs the touch of anyone remotely Creole or Cajun

I have been a long time customer of Hinze's. I picked up a to go order last night. The food was not up to Hinze's usually good standards. I decided to call back in the morning bc it was right before closing time on Mother's Day evening. I have worked in the food service industry for years and know that right before closing at night after a busy night is not the time anyone wants to talk about orders that were not up to par. I told the manager I wanted to give them a chance to make it right before I wrote a negative review. When I called this afternoon at 2:00 as not to bother them during the lunch rush,I spoke with the owner. I explained the situation and basically was told that I was a scammer and was threating him! He had every excuse in the book as to why the food was not up to their usual standards. I was calm, did not curse, and was very polite and then to be told I was a scammer for trying to do the right thing and NOT be a Karen! Pathetic that they treat long time customers like this!!!

Nice place but, lots of hidden charges not on menu. Catfish was $15.99 on register but $14.95 on menu. They claimed there was a 2% up charge for credit card which isn’t on menu. 14.95 + 2% is much less than $15.99. Twice baked potatoes were $0.52 extra but $0.25 on menu. Lady at counter said prices on menu have been too low for 2 years . State of Texas should be informed about this shady practice.

First time coming here and it wasn't that good. Brisket didn't have much flavor and wasn't that great. Potato salad tasted store bought and beans weren't good either. The brisket was the only thing I ate and was still hungry. They could of given more food for the price you pay for the plate. It's maybe $5 worth of food.

The only reason I'm giving a one star is because the BBQ sauce tastes like sloppy joe sauce which is crazy cause they said its homemade but just letting anyone know who reads this. If you don't get anything that needs the "so called bbq sauce" then you'll be ok but if you're getting anything that's going to need the barbecue sauce then steer clear of this place cause you will be incredibly disappointed but if you like sloppy joes then you'll love it! Oh & my wife said the woman's bathroom is filthy & disgusting.
