Created a pick-up order and went through the drive-through. The order was correct, sandwiches were delish. Just know, you have to have an order in advance for drive-through pick up.
I am not a frequent patron to McAlister’s, so I took some time ordering. Christian was very patient, helpful, friendly, and polite. He checked back on me after I received my order just in time to fulfill my request for extra honey mustard. I experienced excellent service today. And the food is delicious, of course.
This was my first time in. The restaurant was clean and orderly. The employees were friendly and helpful. I needed a little coaching up for the first visit, they were great. I had the McAllister's club. Great sandwich. Turkey, ham, bacon, Swiss and cheddar.
18 Sep 20: First order today and I’m impressed. French dip was very good. Ordered extra beef and it was huge. Also ordered a Rueben without extra meat and it too was big and meat was evenly distributed across the bread (not just the middle like some other sandwich shops). Each one tasted great! A little more expensive than Subway but worth it.
Wife and I had Ruebens and liked them so much that we’ve gone back just for the Ruebens.
I definitely recommend this location. I also walk in and someone is cleaning tables and seating, keeping it cleanly and neat. Today I was greeted by Gabe, who was very attentive, thorough, and kind; a pleasure
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a wonderful experience at McAllister’s Deli! A young gentleman brought our food out, and he was incredibly kind, knew exactly what we ordered, and was both energetic and efficient. I truly appreciated the excellent service. Highly recommend!
Always fresh, always good food! Great service
What a wonderful find. The food was really good. I got the four cheese sandwich and a regular spud on the choose two menu. Great deal and really good food. The sweet tea was perfect, and I went back and got a brownie/cookie. All very delicious.
Great . Came in on a Sunday afternoon and the service was exceptional for a peak time. The girl at the counter was smiling when we walked up, genuinely helpful with a great attitude. She deserves a raise. Maggie and Julia are both fantastic food service professionals. Can't wait to come to this location again.
As far as McAlisters go this one is one of the best. Excellent proportion size, good service, clean.

Amazing food Excellent service Relaxing atmosphere Will be back!
I really wanted to focus on the customer service I received here during my visit. All of the staff I encountered were not only friendly but did everything they could to make my visit enjoyable. I greatly appreciate the genuine friendliness of the staff. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Very clean restaurant and they kept up with the crowds of people coming in. And the tea is great 💁🏼♀️
This location has been remodeled and is much more bright and inviting. Food came out quickly and was good.
The whole staff was amazing! From ordering food to table side service!! I highly enjoyed my the atmosphere & everyone's service 10/10
first time here & we received incredible service!!! staff was very friendly, our food was delicious, and the restaurant was overall very clean.
Hadn't eaten all day and love McAlister's tea so I stopped in and didn't realize you can't order food in the drive thru. Drove to the window and met Krystell. She was extremely polite and took my order anyway. She also recommended the best chicken sandwich ever. Thank you Kyrstell for being so nice and helpful. We need more McAlister's around the city.
Met some friends at the NW Military Hwy and 1604 location for lunch. It's been a while since I've been in a McAllister's. We approached the counter and asked for a minute to scan the options on the board above us. When ready we were quickly and professionally greeted and our order taken. I did the Choose two - which was a 1/2 sandwich (spicy southwest chicken) and 1/2 spud. These arrived at our table and were quite tasty. A young man stopped bybto check on us for refills and anything else. The food was good, the service great and the staff professional, and courteous. I hope that should you choose to visit that your experience is as good as mine. Oh, parking was plentiful and part of their lot.
McAlistar’s is a Texas treasure and this location upholds their reputation. The tea is always great, staff caring and friendly, and the wait has never been longer than anticipated. My go-to favorite is the French dip. Over the past 6 years of coming to this location it has always been on-point. I highly recommend stopping by, sipping a Texas size tea, and slow dipping a delicious sandwich. You won’t be disappointed.
One of my favorite lunch spots. I always go with a choose two and sample the menu around. Nowadays I know my favs and bounce between a few variations. On this day I had the spicy chicken melt, and a half garden salad. Of course you always have to get the sweet tea while you're here. With all the gluten free choices, this place is perfect for me and my fiance to both get what we like. This Mcallister's has great service and friendly staff. The inside was clean with no leftover plates or trash sitting in tables. You can tell they care here. Will definitely be back and tell everyone to visit this location.
I give this restaurant four stars only because of the cashier's attitude. She wasn't nice and got angry because we changed an order before even paying. This is a sandwich and soup place, well served. I had the King's club which was loaded with deli meats. Overall a good place to eat, you come in hangry and leave satisfied. (Minus the cashier)
Workers were friendly. Lots of seating and parking. Lots of people enjoying outside seating. Atmosphere was good and place was clean. Food not fresh 😕. Bread fairly stale and crumbly. I like sliced bread not crumbly. I think I prefer subway for sandwiches. I do like their tea tho.
Overall food was good although my wife and another person didn't like the potato soup saying it tasted powdery. All else was good.
We stopped here for lunch and had no complaints. Service was good, food came out quick, the restaurant was clean, and our order was correct. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken & Bacon Spud. It was good, and the potato was huge. I would recommend getting extra chipotle ranch sauce. I had to get extra for mine, Under all the cheese, bacon, and chicken the potato was a little dry, so the extra sauce helped. The kids' mac & cheese was a hit with my 2-year-old. My daughter loved the kids straw that was extra long, which allowed you to make it extra curvy. It's hard to explain, but it made her drink fun, and she loved it. The Grilled chicken club was delicious and came with chips. Overall we enjoyed our lunch here and will be back in the future.
The portions here are good, you get what you pay for. The establishment is cleaned and the staff is friendly and professional. The food quality and taste is good. If you are hungry and you are in the area this is the place to come and enjoy their menu. Four stars because my family and I like it.
This was my first time at this location, the same clean and open atmosphere is what I found. The servers were friendly and helpful when I ordered my food. You can't go wrong with any of the Spuds. Mac and cheese from here is very homestyle opposed to other restaurants where it's very artificial. My favorite item is definitely the sweet tea. Never disappoints.
Food is okay. It's what you'd expect. Busy at this location for lunch, less busy at dinner. Main complaint is that the place always seems a little grubby. Unkempt rather than outright dirty. But it will do in a pinch. Great spuds and salads, mediocre soups, decent sandwiches. Their tea is great. Clear and robust, fresh brewed. You'll have a good meal but you won't be excited about it.
Just had lunch here and I love this location as I eat here three to four times a week. However, the landscape maintenance on the property is terrible. High weeds surround this restaurant and presents a poor appearance. I would like to offer a solution to this problem and help you with providing an alternate to your current landscape vendor. We are dependable, affordable, and will never allow your place of business to look like this. Please DM if you would like a proposal for services. Just trying to help.
Went for lunch. Food is mid. Staff members are the sweetest. I truly admire the fact that they support the disabled community with employment. I would double check your receipts- because they overcharged a lady in front of me.
Asked for the grilled chicken sandwich, which is a croissant sandwich, and instead ended up with a grilled chicken club sandwich. The line was too long for me to wait and get it fixed. Seats were recently cleaned but sticky for some reason; not sure what chemical was used. With that said, the staff were kind and I appreciated that!
Very disappointed. I had ordered online, which I only waited about 10 extra minutes for, then also made an additional order that I waited over 30 minutes for. I finally went inside the store to see what was going on and saw a whole bunch of really unhappy people. They really weren't that busy. I know it's hard to get help these days but no one was hustling or too apologetic. I would have been handing out coupons. Food is almost always good (which is why I didn't give a 1 star review) but my French dip was cold.
First time I've been to one of these in a couple of years. I liked to old decor and atmosphere much better. Bring back the salad bar!
The app said my order was ready. When i went through the drive through, i was told it was not ready and directed to wait in parking spot B and someone would take it out to me. After 20 minutes of more waiting, i went in to check. My order was in a bag on the counter. The server said they called out my name several times. I informed them I was told to wait in parking spot B. Problem: they are short staffed. Solution: Do not direct drive through customers to wait in a take out space if you do not have the staff to take it out to them. Let the drive through customers wait in the queue.
STORE MANAGER PLEASE HIRE MORE PEOPLE. Every Sunday we come here. This will be our last. The person lady in back making the sandwiches is not to be mean but as slow as a Sloth. I feel sorry for the guy cashier running back and forth from drive thru to front to back to get the food. He was fit and quick. Two workers isn't cutting it. Saw so many people leave while standing in line. There was one worker sitting the whole time. Not sure if he was on lunch or waiting to clock in. We were there 2 hrs and for those two hrs he was sitting there.
Every time we order food from here to be delivered it is missing multiple things. I would not recommend this place moving forward as they have no care for checking the accuracy of the items before delivery. Delivery is expensive, we pay for convenience and accuracy.
Our first experience here was takeout. I ordered a salad with a chicken salad on top, and my husband had a spicy turkey melt. He enjoyed his food, but I was really not impressed with mine. Basic salad, nothing fancy. The chicken salad was good though. Then we went to dine-in a few days later. My husband got a memphis sandwich this time and I ordered a BLT. My BLT was super sad. It was barely an inch tall including the bread and only had the cheese I asked for on half. I ordered mac and cheese on the side and it came out room temperature.
I paid for a McAlisters Club and a Spud, unfortunately the order took too long and i left without my order. I gave it to the customer next to me instead. The customer service was fine, i just wish i received my order in a timely fashion. I was on lunch, and didn’t get it on time for my lunch.
I recently had a negative experience with a high school aged staff member. We ordered our meal and the young woman at the counter was kind. When our food came out to the table, my husband and I were confused on the size difference and prices and asked for clarification. Our mistake was that we didn’t understand the full sandwich I ordered was about 6” long and not the 12” that we anticipated seeing that the menu has different sizes and prices. That misunderstanding was on our part. But the young boys reaction was very obscure and immature. We were non-confrontational and respectful the entire time. During our interaction we were trying to get clarification and the staff member suddenly got heated and said “well I’m not giving you a half sandwich for free so we will ring it up at the counter”. Not once did we ask or expect free food?? My husband and I were both confused and my husband said “no that’s not what we want, the menu description and prices made it seem like the sandwich we ordered would be bigger” Again, at no point did we request or expect free food. The staff member marched off and loudly talked bad about us to the rest of the staff behind the kitchen. He was accusing us for wanting free food. It was such a confusing and weird experience. I personally think he may have been going through something because his reaction seemed very emotionally charged. His reaction overall was inappropriate. I don’t think we will be going back but who knows we might be open to trying it again in a few months.
I like this chain, but hate this location. It has never failed to mess up my order or worse forget it completely. Recently they messed up my order and charged us extra for something. I simply asked the lady working at the counter what the extra charge was for and she said she’d take it off. Twenty minutes later she walks over and slaps 50 cents on the table and walks away. Completely passive aggressive and uncessecary. We paid with card too so it made no sense to give us cash. There is a lack of service or care at this location. I would suggest going to a different location if you like the food they have here. Today was the last time I tried to give this location a chance.
Everytime I go it seems like the employees hate there lives. Im sure it stems from not getting paid enough or bad management. Whatever it is they need to fix it soon because as much i love the food, the environment is getting worse and worse and there about to lose a loyal customer.
Not the type of sandwiches that I prefer. Went there with my husband yesterday. Also, the women's restroom was being worked on soo it was closed and the men's restroom needed major cleaning. It smelled horrible in there. If you like warm sandwiches then you will probably like this place. I prefer my Italian to be cold cold cut. I would possibly go back to try their Reuben sandwiches because that is a sandwich I do like obviously warm.
Stopped by for dinner tonight and was highly disappointed. We haven’t been in a while and thought why not, what a mistake! I ordered a veggie sandwich and it had no avocado as stated in the description. My daughter ordered a kids pizza and it was a round frozen pizza that was microwaved. She could barely eat it. I ordered my son a spicy chicken sandwich to take home and it was missing avocado and the corn/black bean relish. His sandwich was basically a mess of sauce and a little bit of chicken. If items are out at least inform the customers and give an option for a replacement. The staff were very nice but the food is definitely not worth a return trip.
Not the best McAllisters I’ve been to, they didn’t listen to my requests and were pissed they needed to remake it. And took their time on the remake. I won’t be back.
Not only in this place extremely overpriced, but it was absolutely freezing inside. My husband ordered a Ruben with only meat and cheese. First they were out of rye, which makes a Ruben, then they bring it out and it has dressing and sauerkraut on it. They took the sandwich back and who knows what they did with it, but should have offered to let us keep it at least. People are friendly, but a general manager should have a lot more knowledge than what she appeared to have. Will not be coming back for lunch after spending $42 for a bad experience.
McAllisters on 151 & 410 is delicious. After recently moving to the northside of SA, I began coming to their Shavano Park location. This location is 10x slower with usually one person working in the back which is completely understandable. However, most of the time they don’t get your order right. Every time I’ve gone to the window after ordering ahead—today I ordered AN HOUR ahead—something goes wrong. Order is still being made (they just started), order is wrong, last time they gave my order away to someone else and admitted it This time they couldnt even find it. I order 2:57pm, get here at 3:25 (order ready time is 3:09) and it’s no where to be found. It is now 3:51 and I just received my order. WRONGLY. Something needs to be done. Watch how your employees are doing things. Please manage accordingly. This shit is honestly so annoying and makes me want to come less. 😐
I order from this location at least 1x a week. I've noticed the quality and presentation of their salads are not the as good as they used to be. Today I ordered a Southwest chicken & avacado salad. I had to remove most of the tomatoes. They were so cold and soggy almost as if they were frozenand thawed. And it had a lot of white soggy lettuce. The avacado had a lot of brown spots. It would be nice if they would provide a packaged utensil set too. I don't know where those utensils have been and whose hands they've gone through when they're not packaged. I have no complaints about the sandwiches those are still pretty good. Please work on them Salads, they look nothing like the online picture.
Was all excited to go to McAlister Deli and introduce my wife to a Ruben Sandwich. Went up to order and was told that they did not have any Corned Beef, Pastrami or Turkey. Also tried to order some soup and was told that they didn't have most of the soups. That eliminates a good portion of their menu. How do you stay open with no food to serve???? Turned around and walked out and went to Jason's Deli.
Placed an online order for window pick up. Waited 10 min to get my turn at the window and the workers never even acknowledged me while I sat at the window. I finally parked and went inside and again while at the counter was near acknowledged until a customer behind me spoke up. It was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I spent over 30 minutes trying to pick up an online order....
The BLat sandwich is my husband and my favorite. We ordered on Sunday and were very disappointed. The sandwich was considerably smaller than in the past. It was two really small squares rather than the regular bread cut on the diagonal.
I will not go back (at least to this location). Just too many places to eat and two things disappointed me. A real lack of indifference with the staff regarding service and being engaged. Evidently it comes from management. The other was in ordering a soup and sandwich combo. The cup of soup was normal coffee cup size (small but expecting this) but only half way full. The fellow brought it out and I asked him if he could fill it up at least closer to the top. He left and came back saying, "we have a new policy and its only going to be two scoops and no, the manager said he wouldn't fill it any more". Really unbelievable as it was not done in a rude way. One of those "win the battle but lose the war" as I am a sales rep and have three to five catered lunches and two to three catered dinners a week for work. I normally use Panera and Jason's but am looking for a new place. First time at McAlister's and the reason I went in was to evaluate the food and service. This is management specific and I will still try the 151 location.
So usually we like McAlister’s, but this location was filthy. Once we walked in, the space literally smelled like walking into a restroom, or maybe it was mildew. Associate who helped us was friendly. Food was ok, nothing to brag about, I lost my appetite after grabbing the lids to our drinks that were placed near a trashcan that smelled like puke. Kids meals seemed to have been microwaved. Tables were sticky as if they re-used the same towel to wipe all tables. Condiments and everything set on tables were dirty and looked like they hadn’t been touched in weeks. Overall, as convenient as the location was for us at the time, will not visit again.
Worst worst worst location ever. Waited almost 20 minutes for my food. Saw my soup get packaged and sat there. Asked how long had it been sitting because it was cold. The girl with the hick accent. And at that she was rude!!!!!!!. Also I wanted chocolate milk for my grandson who is a toddler and the guy kept trying to sell me soda. Really. I will never get food from this location. And quit hiring children to work that want to just stand around gossiping and being rude to customers. This is why I only go to the location on the SE side. It's the best, staff are the best, and food is always perfect. I didn't even want to give one star. Very disappointed and very upset.
Edit: Nevermind! The pickup line was 15 cars deep and I was stuck for over 30 minutes trying to pick up my order that is already paid for. Ridiculous when this line is for preorders that have already been paid for. Done with McAlister’s. Edit: the order line has gotten significantly better. The sandwiches are always great as usual. Adding back a star for improvements. The order pick up line is horrible. It’s for call ahead orders only and your food isn’t even ready when you go pick it up so there is an endless line of cars waiting on their food and you are trapped in the line. This call ahead order line is a joke and is managed very poorly. Besides that I do like the sandwiches here and they have gluten free bread. I’ll come back but I really wish they would address the pick up order line.
Ordered on app. Said it would be ready by 7:28 it's 7:45 and I'm still waiting on my food. What happened? I ordered it earlier so that it would be ready when I pick up. No other McAlister's has been like this.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I have had a few visits in the past month at this location. There is clearly no manager for this location or management present. This place is a Sh$& show every time I have come. The staff are rude all the time to everyone, there’s no communication and you end up waiting 20+ minutes. When busy expect an hour or more. The food is good which is only reason worth coming. On my last visit I ordered a sandwich just 1 and nothing else I waited 55 minutes. I also watched customers visibly upset trying to explain why and then the employees talk rudely after they leave, the customer had good reason to be upset. These employees need to be more understanding and management needs to get involved and support this store.
Yikes - talk about a poor experience … paid, waited then left without food!!! Greeted by counter staff with a “yes?” was certainly an awkward moment. When the tap function didn’t work on the payment device, the staff person needed to ask me which option to tip I wanted to select - again super awkward!! Waited near the front counter for a single cup of soup to go … watched others order and receive their food while the staff ran around looking miserable and confused. Not a single person including the gentleman who took my order ever asked about my order. Wasted all the time I had for a lunch break … gave him my receipt back and left. Hungry and super disappointed.
Ordered thru Uber, the restaurant kept all my entrees and I only received a fruit cup and 2 brookies. Although the manager I called tried to make it right by saying they’d remake the food, the girl up front ended up giving my first order for delivery. It was cold and had been there for almost an hour just sitting on a table. I went back inside again to get the correct order which I did receive. The store itself was absolutely empty. Not a single customer. 3 employees were working and a manager I spoke to but did not see and yet no good service. The food was still good, but the employees clearly lack training and etiquette when working with customers and cannot perform the most basic of food service tasks with an empty restaurant. Just go to a different location or get something else!
If you never seen slow, this place will define... Slowwwwwww
I thought I got their early enough to do a quick order since there were not a lot of people there. It took nearly 32 mins from order to table. I even ordered to go!! If I didn't ask about my order it would've been longer. Then as I was watching the gentleman in the kitchen he was just throwing the food in the bag without any care. If you're looking for a quick bite to eat then I highly do not recommend this place at all.
The worst service I have EVER had at any place. The girl at the check out counter was obviously stoned and I had to tell her 4 times I wanted a potato soup and she couldn't understand. After 15 minutes trying to explain to her my very simple order of a soup and a grilled cheese, I waited 30 minutes for my Togo order. The restaurant was completely dead and I saw a lot of staff just hanging out and joking around not working. After 30 minutes I received my order which was missing the soup. The girl at the check out counter provided the worst service ever and couldn't even select a single botton for soup correctly. The inside of the restaurant is dirty and unkept. The staff is lazy. I wi never go here again this is the worst McAlester's I have ever been in. Get better workers!!! You don't even deserve a 1 star. Do better
Went by the pick up window and ordered tea was driving slowly from the window bc my passenger had their tea open to put sweetener and the manager Maya, or so she claims when I called the store to speak to one, could be heard saying “Get out of my drive thru” from the window. WOW! Maya could be a little more respectful and not so RUDE!!! The store wasn’t busy and there wasn’t anyone behind us. We love the tea and it would be a shame to not return because of disrespectful staff!
Red hair glasses cashier (Ashley) was extremely RUDE when my boyfriend ordered our food. No reason for it, her voice was SO LOUD as she was taking our order. We were only a few inches in front of her. I thought she may have a mental issue so I tried to relax a bit. Turns out, she was polite and her voice was normal when other folks ordered their food. Dear god, why does she still have that job? I’m sure we didn’t do anything wrong. As we were fixing to go, getting up, getting bags to go and refills she went to our table and was on our way while my mom was getting up and my kids were trying to fix to leave. My daughter stated her face expression was ugly as she picked up our plates. I mean is this not a family friendly place ? Managers in charge of this location, look out for your costumers. Me and my family always try our best to be polite to others. Check mental status of your workers- this person was extremely rude. Experience was awkward, if cashiers workers act this way towards others- then it’s best not to visit places that hire people like this. Hope she’s embarrassed of herself
Called in my order and went to the drive-through. I couldn’t see anyone behind the front counter’s or in the back it took them 10 minutes for someone to show up. I ordered a sandwich with no mayo, extra pickle and a unsweet tea sandwich had mayonnaise. There was no pickles at all. And the tea was so old it was undrinkable. And I will include a picture I would like my money back for the tea.
Waited for someone to acknowledge me because everyone was in the back and the only other person was by the drive thru window who looked at me and then looked away while on a cell phone...told the guy behind me good luck and walked out.
Not sure if there is anything more pathetic than a restaurant that serves the easiest food to prepare and you can even get into the order screen
Extremely DISAPPOINTED with my To Go Meal today. The Potato Salad container was COMPLETLY MISSING. Additionally, even though a King Club, I have to assume that the Food Preparers are not cutting the Club into 4 triangles anymore. Since last review, only a remodel of the inside spaces has occurred Too COLD to dine inside during this visit. I have to start verifying orders entirely on next visit, if I return for another visit!!!
My wife picked up lunch the other day on her way home from my daughters Girl Scouts. I cannot believe somebody actually made a sandwich with this type of meat!! It was literally ridden with fat through and through! Some of that grizzly fat. My daughter and I could not even eat the sandwich. I’ve been to McAllister’s numerous times and have had good experiences in the past, but this, is ridiculous! Who in their right mind thinks it would be OK to put this in a sandwich and somebody would eat it?
Once again the service and cleanliness of this place simply sucks. Today I ordered what I normally order and they forgot the soup. The soup comes with tortilla chips and this is what I received after I had to ask for them because they forgot to add it. The remodel is nice but always smells like sewer when you walk in. I don’t recommend eating at this restaurant. Oh the AC isn’t working. I don’t know how this place hasn’t been shut down.
We walked in and stood at the counter, we were the only ones in line. No one acknowledged us, a couple employees saw us, and never said a word. We waited and after at least a minute decided to go through the drive through as we saw a window to the side. Turns out that's a pickup only window. Womp womp. We left, and we will never go back. Service & greeting people should be a top priority. No wonder there weren't a lot of people in the dining room here.
Avocado on sandwich was BLACK - it never should have been put on sandwich. After sending it back - new sandwich came out with fresh avocado on side. They had fresh food and KITCHEN SERVES OLD FOOD. Not going back.
Really slow service. We asked the workers if our order was ready and she said no it’s not on the screen. We sat for over twenty minutes until we realized that our food was set on a shelf on the side and nobody told us. Additionally, once we finally got our food they did not put ANY hot nacho cheese or meat on my husband’s ultimate nachos. They literally just put dry chips and a side of cold shredded cheese in a cup. It’s almost unbelievable how awful it looks lol. Terrible experience.
I thought this place was going to be good giving the location, but it is absolute trash. The employees are fighting with one another. The plates that our food were served on were dirty. The men’s bathroom was absolutely disgusting. I do not recommend eating at this location at all. There are better McAllister locations to eat at.
To say I am extremely disappointed is an UNDERSTATEMENT. I ordered the ultimate nachos and not only did they forget the guacamole and sour cream, the nacho cheese was cold and clearly scraped from the bottom on whatever pan they cook it in. I spent $13 on these nachos and couldn’t even eat them. The way my nachos were served is completely unacceptable. The workers should have done better.
Dirty (trash outside the restaurant and inside - dirty restrooms, tables, floor), manager rude and disorganized. I waited 35 (!) minutes for my order and when I receive their “famous baked potato” I immediately understood why they are so famous - they could make cry even the toughest person - small, dry, and with the glue like texture. Not coming back or recommending.
