Want a reliable tasty meal? Go here! Great food great drinks . Happy hour . This place is the place to go
This place is an absolute hidden Gem in the Valley and LA at large. Insanely underrated and slept on. Everyone here is so hype and needs to go and get like uni tostadas and bingsoo and whatever food is trendy, and it’s like no maybe you need to go to Sherman Oaks and get a perfectly cooked artichoke and a lamb shank in a super chill environment. Everything was cooked to perfection. The ambience was relaxing and not hectic.
I have been frequenting the Sherman Oaks Marmalade Cafè since 2006 and it has always had such a great menu and sense of upscale interior blending French country with the essence of home. A perfect meal here would be to order a steamed artichoke, a cold glass of Kim Crawford then order one of their hamburgers or enjoy a mega Cobb Salad. When at breakfast this place is solid spot for mimosas and one the best breakfast burritos in town. We also love the steamed artichoke (they serve it grilled but one can ask for a steamed version of it) Parking is easy and located in the back parking lot and even underground. The marmalade Cafe is a great spot year round restaurant and caters each and every season from Easter to Christmas to my favorite, Mother's Day! We were able to snag the back room for this too so call ahead earlier if this is what you want to do side we will already probably be there. I suggest the fish tacos and the chicken piccata with a side or pasta. The Chicken Marsala is also one of the best in the city. The staff is fun and full of personality! l - thank you for all you do and making us feel special for almost 20 years, now!
Get to this Sherman Oaks landmark. Go for the food, service and ambiance and stay for the food, service and ambiance. We ate the Calamari too fast to take a picture, but it was in the top 10 of my experience around the world for calamari. Mixed drinks are also excellent we had 5 gimlets total! lol. Ask for Alex, he’s on his game as ambassador to the Marmalade scene
I had the goat cheese frittata and damn is that so freaking good! I don’t think I would have anything else from there for brunch/breakfast. My brunch mates had the Gelson’s and the lobster Benedict. They said they were both really tasty. And the carafe of mimosas was just enough for each of us to have two glasses a piece which for $33 isn’t bad!
Great restaurant, came on a Tuesday night about an hour before close. Had the crab cakes appetizer (they were good, a little watery, but overall good), French dip sandwich with sweet potato fries, chicken and wild rice soup, and for dessert the lava cake with vanilla ice cream. Everything was good, will return when nearby. Our server Corey was the sole person tending to the 6 or 7 tables in the restaurant and he did a good job. He forgot our bread, and I screamed at him "we were promised bread!" And he smiled and brought us the bread. My girlfriend said it was good, I didn't have any because I was saving it all for her soup.
My wife and I and 4 others met for dinner at Marmalade in Sherman Oaks. The restaurant is clean, neat, and nicely decorated. Service was friendly and efficient. Our server was attentive but not obtrusive. I wasn't particularly hungry so I had the French onion soup. Marmalade uses gruyere and Swiss cheeses. Normally, I expect the cheese of French onion soup to be covering the surface and flowing over all around the soup tureen. This soup had enough cheese to cover the surface, but not enough to overflow the bowl, a disappointment. Also, I suggest that the chef add port wine cheddar to the cheese mix. That addition will make your French onion soup exquisitely delicious. Everyone enjoyed the dinner.
I really enjoyed my breakfast at Marmalade Cafe! Since covid, they have opened up their dining area into the parking lot under a large tent and equipped with tall, heaters. This is where we ate which was fine, however I definitely plan to go back to check out the inside which looks adorable! I ordered these delicious waffles with fruit, a mimosa, and a latte. Everything was delicious and I left full and happy! My breakfast date got eggs, toast, and a side of potatoes and was very happy with their dish. Staff was nice, food was great, and the prices were decent considering brunch in LA! I'd recommend!
It's a very nice restaurant. Its pretty decent. The staff are very nice and welcoming. They make you feel welcome. The restaurant is pretty nice decorations. You can get a deal in groupon that's what we did. The food was very tasty. I loved the calamari they did it so good. The mashed potatoes was amazing I loved it. The shrimps where very good and clean properly. The drinks was very strong and good. How we like it. I will come back here that's how good it was.

I love the food at Marmalade. The Eggs Benedict is fabulous! The service is excellent and I love the decor. It's a great place for the girls to get together for brunch, lunch or dinner.

Been going here for years , tried two new items , hated the lamb burger so dry no sauce and the cheese was so tasteless but loved the spicy ahi tuna tartare . However would stick with the breakfast menu since it’s killer . My mother also thought the Chinese chicken salad was eh .
Huge salads that were very tasty and a great place for a business conversation. But soured by slight pushy staff who attempted to clear the table multiple times whilst we were still eating and then move us on repeatedly (our total sit time was less than 1 hour, so not outrageous). The restaurant was also only half full so it didn’t really make sense.

Great food. My friend and I shared a Chinese salad and pot pie. The pot pie was amazing but really rich. Glad we balanced it w a salad. They do have parking in the back of the building.

To cut to the chase… The food sucks! I’ve been to all of the Marmalade cafes through the years and they used to be good. Not anymore! I’m not going to go to restaurants that are not good. That’s it

Made a reservation for 11:30 am and when we got there the hostess said that they only have outdoor seating available and that they claimed to have called me earlier to tell me that. I did not get any call from them and I asked what time they called and they said 10am. I showed them my call history which did not show any call from them but they kept insisting that they called. We had to wait for 20 mins to be seated. I had a birthday coupon as well that indicated on the email that it can be used for lunch or dinner. Our server Alexis, who was very accommodating and nice, tried his best to convince their manager about the coupon but his manager said that it can only be redeemed during breakfast. I’ve eaten at this establishment before but only at the Farmer’s Market at The Grove location and they have better service over there than here at Sherman Oaks.
Marmalade Café in Sherman Oaks is a charming spot on Ventura Blvd with a cozy, welcoming atmosphere and a solid menu full of California-style comfort food. The Lobster Benedict and French Toast were delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. However, I was a bit surprised to be charged nearly $10 for just two pieces of toast — a detail that felt overpriced even for LA standards. While I enjoyed the overall experience, a little more transparency or value on side items would go a long way. Still, it’s a great place for brunch or a casual meal in the valley.
Cool Antique looking style restaurant!!! I ordered spicy tuna tartare, chicken pot pie & mushroom soup. The star dish for me is the mushroom soup. It was creamy and well seasoned ! Mushrooms tasted fresh 👍 That was where the best ended. The tartare was surprisingly sweet. Overly sweet. I have never eaten raw fish, sushi or sashimi or tartare that was this sweet. It was weird to me. My husband is Japanese….he was NOT into it. The chicken pot pie was too heavy . It also wasn’t really a pot pie. It had no crust. Just a puff pastry they poured creamy sauce on. The puff pastry was soggy. The filling / gravy was so thick. The chicken was supposedly free range…dry though! Server was nice & friendly Parking in rear
The food is great. Nice outdoor dining. Pet friendly. Kid friendly. Great atmosphere to catch up with friends. Sadly the service is below average. Food takes forever to come out and the servers avoid making eye contact with you unless they have food to bring out. Oh and beware because the plates can give you second degree burns with how hot they come from the kitchen. Finally if you are a multi-person party just do yourself a favor and ask for one check instead. They made several mistakes on all of our checks (we were a party of 4). I usually don't like to complain about an establishment however we've had problems here so often prior, I think it was well overdue 😕
Smoked Salmon and Hot Chocolate was great. Breakfast for 4 plus tax and tip was just shy $100. Parking in the back is $5 during breakfast and $6 during dinner. Wheelchair accessible. Noise level on a Saturday morning was pretty high. Overall I enjoyed my meal, but because of the cost and atmosphere I'm not likely to return anytime soon.

Came here the other night and ordered the valentines day special. There were only 3 of us at the table and we ordered as soon as we sat down. Appetizers and kid's meal came out within 10 minutes. No complaints on the kid's meal, but the brussel sprouts appetizer was lukewarm. After getting a fresh order of the brussel sprouts we ended up waiting over an hour before getting our entrées. It wasn't until I glanced over at the table next to us and noticed they had already finished their food to realize how long we had been waiting. We were the first seated (and ordered) out of the other 3 tables in our section, yet they all finished their meals before we were even served. Arrived at 6:40 and were finally told by our waitress at 7:48 that our food was coming out (didn't happen until 8:00). Also found it odd that she came over at one point and asked if we were ready for our entrées...didn't realize this was something we needed to confirm, but we ended up waiting at least another 30 minutes after she asked that. By the time we were finally served I immediately asked for takeout boxes and the dessert because I had lost my appetite by then; it was also getting late, and my 4 year old had completely finished her meal 30 minutes prior. When we mentioned how long we had been waiting after we finally got our entrées, the waitress said it was because the chicken takes 30 minutes to cook (we waited over an hour) but she was completely dismissive and never apologized that it took so long. Even though she was very pleasant overall, the service was inattentive and completely unapologetic about the ridiculous wait time, and I'm convinced that she clearly forgot to put the order in, and instead of apologizing tried to cover it up by saying the chicken took a long time to cook. Because the food wasn't horrible (and we really just needed to leave) we let it go, but It was an overall disappointing experience.
For the record, Marmalade Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants. With that being said, the service and three of the dishes and appetizers did not meet the standard I was expecting. The Philly Steak Sliders were so dry and tough. They seemed as if they had been sitting under heat laps all day. The Turkey Meatloaf was dry, the green beans were delicious. The mashed potatoes, as always were good. The Beyond Burger was decent. The Cobb Salad was excellent. The most disappointing dish was the Beef Pot Roast. Per the person who ordered this dish, the beef seemed old and dry. The Bread Pudding was extremely dry.
