This spot is wonderful. The menu is somewhat limited but the options are phenomenal and they easily accommodated my food allergies. I had the lobster roll and we started off with calamari served with spicy mayo. The calamari was cooked to perfection and tender to the bite. The lobster roll was so good, I've been dreaming about it ever since. I'm definitely heading back over there to enjoy that roll again, real soon. The service was great! Our server was friendly and attentive.

We came to Unigame Japanese Kitchen after a long, fun, and exceptionally rainy day at Universal Studios. The hot ramen, udon, tempura eggs, and chashu side rice bowl were piping hot and perfect to warm us up. The service was fast and friendly and the food was delightful. We’ll have to come back to try the sushi when it warms up!

This place is poppin. I was blown away by how good the ramen tasted; you can tell they didn’t take any shortcuts on the bone broth. Flavor was outstanding. Really decently priced sushi with great portions. Had to wait a little to get a table but service was really quick once we sat down. It’s a nice place! And lastly, Umigame = sea turtles and I LOVE them.

Matthew gave world class service. He took such great care of us. Made us feel welcome, At ease, and heard. I'll definitely recommend it for everyone who likes good service. He was great!

Update 7/26/23 for another great experience! I have tried a few places now in LA, but so far this is my favorite ramen shop. Added some delicious tofu and a Sapporo. Previous: I love it here! Honestly this is what I most looked forward to visiting again on my second trip to LA. The staff is always incredibly friendly, they're very quick and everything from the Gyoza to the spicy Miso soup is fantastic!

The food here is so delicious! I went for lunch and got ramen, gyoza and Sapporo. Must try!

Everything we had today wowed us - each dish was perfection! Especially loved the cucumber salad, Japanese slaw, peach lemonade and avocado over crispy rice. Good prices too. Have not been this impressed about a restaurant in a long time. My new favorite sushi place!

EDIT: went back a second time and liked it even more. Got the beef teriyaki this time and sampled more sushi - all were great, especially the eel roll! Their sushi is very well priced, and good quality - not a hint of fishiness at all. Jilian has given us great service and we will be back!! First visit: Went here to camp and study a bit outside - staff was fine with my extended stay period and their chai latte was very good. After a while, ordered some sushi, ramen, karaage chicken and miso. For the price point and quality, I’ll be back for the sushi! Staff was very nice and attentive and not annoyed by my long visit - or at least didn’t show it 😁 miso and ramen were great! Karaage was certainly not bad by any means but not my favorite. Worth trying though!

Great food and services overall. The service was fast, waiters are friendly, food came with little wait, no mistake in our big order. There were 8 of us and we came around dinner time. Will come back again! If you're looking for Japanese food, this is it! Awesome sushi and ramen! Also, mochi is a must for dessert!

I found this place by accident after went to see my client in the area. The restaurant was super busy but everyone there were so energetic and friendly. I ordered Pork Tonkutsu (not so sure if I spell it right). Soup was delicious, their chili oil was SO GOOD. My server, Yui, told me that those were homemade chili and they plan to sell that too! Definitely come back when they sell them!

The food was very good, it is one of my in-laws' favorite places. We are ordered a few items including Veggie Ramen, Shishito Pepper, Cauliflower Bites, Steamed Edamame, vanilla and green tea ice creams. We enjoyed everything. I remember feeling, "ooh this ramen is delicious" and the shishito peppers were not spicy (I eat spicy food). The service was good, friendly staff and the food came pretty quick.

Run, don't walk (recommend a reservation)...as this place is fantastic!!! Huge portions, fresh and full of flavor. Very good pricing as well.

One of our favorite local spots. Delicious food at great prices. They even have Happy Hour all day long everyday! For appetizers we had the Gyoza dumplings and the steamed edamame. Some great rolls to try would be the spicy tuna tempura roll, dragon roll, and the Omega roll. This last one was recommended by the waiter and was the most delicious. I also highly recommend any of the Ramen and the chicken teriyaki. Very family friendly and pet friendly on the front patio. Don’t skip the pitcher of beer 😉.

I've been eating sushi since the 1980's in Southern California. Starting with Yamashiro's in the Hollywood Hills. Since moving to Sherman Oaks last year, I discovered Umigame Japanese Kitchen on Ventura Blvd. Off of Woodman Ave. (Sherman Oaks). Wow!! What a delight! Cozy & intimate. And the "shrimp/crab tempura roll" with sweet eel sauce is the best I've ever eaten. I mean it too!!! I have to eat there at least once a month. The craving is so strong! The service is top notch, and the chef will adjust your order to your liking. I eliminated the cucumber since I'm going through dental implant procedures. I give them a grade A & Double thumbs up!!

Got together with some friends who haven't seen each other in a while. We picked this sushi spot because it was half way point for us. Small spot with maybe 12 tables inside. Nice street side seating as well. Our table was up front by the glass so we could see the street action. We got there just before 3 pm. Perfect because it wasn't crowded or too busy. Started with a shared bottle of Kikusui Sake and four appetizers. Jalapeño poppers Yellowtail carppacio Spicy tuna crispy rice Albacore & Crispy onion. All three were delicious. Five different sushi next. My favorite was the Truffle unagi roll. Next was the Lime yellowtail roll, we got another order. Also good were the Spider roll, Dynamite roll, and Lobster crunch roll. Each of the dishes was flavorful and fresh. Overall, great value, great flavors. We had a really good time. Recommend visiting. We'll be back.

By the time I learned of my mistake, it was too late. The food was ready for me. The only problem: The restaurant is 40 minutes from where I live, and I didn't have time to make it out there. I called them back and offered to pay for it, though I couldn't pick it up. Alas, they don't accept payments over the phone. The owner, however, was very sweet, and said it was no big deal and that he hoped I could try his restaurant the next time I was in the neighborhood. There's a lot of way someone could have reacted to this situation. I was given patience, understanding and grace. I have yet to try the food, but so appreciated the service at this wonderful little spot.
