This place is a true Gem in Sherman Oaks! My awesome cousin and I had a fantastic time at Anejo Cantina and Grill. We came to celebrate her birthday and had the best time. Our server Diego, the bartender (I want to say Edgard?) who made our drinks to the super sweet Photographer made our experience super memorable. We dined yummy food, danced to super fun live music and DJ music. Our night was perfect 👌🏽Thank you all so much for such amazing service, we will be back!
Amazing authentic Mexican food for a great price. Atmosphere was inviting. They have great outdoor seating as well as tables and sofas inside to sit at. The staff were very friendly. Overall, an amazing restaurant that I plan to revisit once I'm back in LA!
I came on a Wednesday which was super empty the waiters were very attentive and welcoming the food was absolutely delicious the drinks were also on point. Also if you choose to decide this location the view is outstanding to come and eat!
Anejo Cantina is so cute. We love eating there, but this time we got it to go. It heated up perfectly. All of their food is great. We love combinations and their tacos and burritos are great. The meat they use is really good. The place is just so comfortable. It is never too loud. I would make a reservation for weekends. The wait time is never bad on week nights. Sometimes there is no wait at all. The prices are very fair for all the food you get. We also love the location. There are nice places to walk nearby. The service is just the best. We have never had an issue. We have ordered take away and we have eaten there a few times. The servers are nice and will get your order right the first time. So, go and have fun. I think they also deliver, but I am not sure.
We came in for happy hour! We waited at the front for a few minutes but the service was fast otherwise! We got happy hour margaritas - strawberry, peach, and mango. They all tasted great, but the peach had more of the fruit syrup at the bottom so it was really sweet. For food, we got the firecracker shrimp, beef nachos, and a salmon taco. Everything was really good! The nachos were big! The chips and salsa were also super tasty :)
I visited Añejo Cantina & Grill with a few friends and found it to be a fantastic spot for relaxed dining in Sherman Oaks. From the moment we arrived, the staff was both welcoming and efficient. We sat near the window and enjoyed plenty of light and a view of Ventura Blvd. The menu offers a wide variety of options—everything from traditional tacos to upscale entrees—and we chose the grilled fish tacos, the mesquite-grilled chicken, and the house margarita flight. Each dish was well-prepared: the fish tacos had just the right crispness and flavor balance, and the chicken was juicy and seasoned to perfection. The margarita flight allowed us to sample three different styles (classic lime, mango-jalapeño, and hibiscus) and each had clean, bold flavors. What really stood out was the atmosphere: comfortable booths, live music in the evening, and a nice outdoor patio for al-fresco dining. It’s family-friendly but also has enough ambiance for a date night. If you’re looking for a dependable Mexican-American restaurant with elevated dishes, solid drinks, and good service, Añejo Cantina & Grill is a strong choice. I’ll definitely be back.
Anejo Restaurant: A Birthday Celebration to Remember ✨ If you're seeking a fine dining experience with exceptional service and warm hospitality, Anejo Restaurant should be your first choice. From the moment I left a phone message for the manager, I was impressed—he returned my call within hours and remained consistently polite and accommodating throughout our planning. I hosted a birthday celebration for 20 guests in their spacious banquet room, which could have easily welcomed more. Anejo allowed me to decorate the private space to my liking, stored my cake overnight in their refrigerator, and even cut and served it without any additional charge. They graciously permitted candles on the cake, adding a personal touch that many other venues restrict. Unlike other restaurants that impose strict two-hour time limits or prohibit entertainment, Anejo welcomed my magician, Visionary Noir (GigSalad), and placed no time constraints on our gathering. Their flexibility made the evening feel relaxed and joyful. Practical details were also thoughtfully considered: parking is free, and an elevator at street level takes you directly to the fourth floor, where your dining experience begins. My guests and I were truly delighted by the food, the service, and the genuine hospitality we received. Thank you, Anejo, for making my birthday celebration so memorable.
Michelle at Añejo Cantina and Grill is absolutely amazing! From the moment we walked in, she made us feel so welcome and taken care of. Her energy, kindness, and attention to detail made our dining experience unforgettable. She knew the menu inside and out, gave great recommendations, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. You can tell she truly cares about her guests and loves what she does. We’ll definitely be coming back—and asking for Michelle every time!
We had such a great experience! The fajitas were sizzling hot and full of flavor, perfectly grilled steak with fresh peppers and onions. The scallops were seared beautifully, tender inside, and paired so well with the fresh vegetables. And of course, the Cadillac margaritas were spot on , smooth, balanced, and exactly what you’d hope for. Our server, T, was amazing , attentive, friendly, and made sure everything came out just right. Great food and even better service. Highly recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The vibrant atmosphere in this place always makes the meals so much more enjoyable. The food is simply amazing but what pushed it over the top was the service. I want to thank Meylin for the fantastic service she provided. Not only did she make amazing recommendations for us first timers but she provided excellent descriptions of the dishes. She was attentive to each of our needs and went the extra mile to make us feel welcomed. Will definitely be recommending this place and telling friends to ask for WONDERFUL MEYLIN
I was in the area on a business trip and came across this restaurant through a quick Google search. Inside, it doubles as a club with music and dancing, giving it a lively vibe. If you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, the outdoor seating is a great option for conversation. The burrito was outstanding and reasonably priced, and the service was excellent. Overall, a very satisfying experience.
An Exquisite Culinary Revelation The nachos, a symphony of flavors, transcend the ordinary, achieving a culinary zenith that demands recognition. Patrons are advised to partake in this gastronomic marvel, an experience that redefines the very essence of indulgence. The Carne Asada, meticulously marinated overnight, offers a transformative gustatory journey. The harmonious convergence of texture and taste, coupled with an unparalleled authenticity, establishes it as an indispensable selection. The accompanying shrimp and rice, prepared with flawless precision, further elevate this dish to an apex of culinary artistry. Discerning palates are implored to savor each nuanced element of this masterful creation. The beverage offerings, without exception, merit the highest commendation. The establishment's commitment to customer service, particularly in accommodating large gatherings, is exemplary. It is with unwavering conviction that I endorse this venue, urging all connoisseurs of fine dining to patronize this bastion of epicurean excellence.
It's a beautiful day in Los Angeles - great to have a brunch at Anejo on the 2md floor off Ventura Blvd 2 blocks west of Van Nuys Blvd. My dear friend Lane.introduced me to this place as they have happy hour Mon through Friday from 12 to 6,!!! Super cheap ! Food is always good - chips are warm . Service is good . The best part is: they are in the 2nd floor and most people sit outside to enjoy the breeze and view - it is a fantastic experience in Sherman oaks .
Having no epxectations when walking into a restaurant is usually the best course of action. It allows one to be surprised at what is to come and Anejo Cantina & Grill has definitely surprised me. I did not expect to have such a wonderful experience when I was driving to this restaurant and now they have become a place that I want to return to often, especially for their happy hour specials. Anejo has a lovely patio that I thought would be loud being along Ventura but was still quiet and allowed for conversation. Being on the second floor also seems to welcome a slight breeze keeping it a tad cooler than outside in the sun which was a welcome discovery. Inside they have a lovely restaurant with a bar and lots of tables and booths. The wait staff both times we have visited were poliete and attentive. As for the food, phenomenal! Everything I've tried was delicious and, honestly, the portions might be TOO large. Both times I've visited I've gone home with at least half the meal to go cause it was so good I needed to finish it. The prices are also wonderful, especially the Happy Hour prices. When I ordered the steak burrito for $12 on the happy hour menu I didn't expect it to come out almost as large as my forearm. Not that I'm complaining at all. In fact because it was so massive I cut it in half for my friend and I to share in our leftovers. My favorite item might be the humble Esquitas. This street corn dish is just absolutely delicious. I honestly could just have this all day. The Open Face Quesadilla is another instance of not at all expecting an item to be quite so large. It was delicious though. The only item I've had that was lacking were the Asada fries, essentially the same as the steak nachos but just swap fries with the nachos. The Nachos are the superior version here. The fries tasted unseasoned, it didn't even seem like they had been tossed in salt after frying or baking. Just dumped onto a plate and then loaded with the usual toppings. Thankfully complimentary chips are plentiful so we made do by quickly swapping to using the chips for the delicious toppings on the asada fries. Overall a fantastic location with lovely patio seating and excellent food. I highly recommend.
I love this place. Our server Shawn was friendly and attentive when the music started playing he was showing some moves and gave us our dessert. We love that. The food was amazing, and the Flan is out of this world flantastic . What can I say when they started to play the music we couldn't resist and we hit the dance floor . They should check the bathroom to keep it cleand other than that thi is my 1 place . Definitely, we are coming back .
Seems like a family owned establishment, in the sense that you had friendly people that seem to be on the same page in regard to customer service and overall vibe. I tried a bunch of the food, my main was the Carne Asada, and it was delicious. It was cooked perfectly, and I’d definitely get it again. The bacon wrapped shrimp were a little overcooked for my liking, but the flavor was great. They could be spicier. The elotes was delicious but don’t forget that lime! The tacos looked good that my Lady got. One recommendation, improving the tortillas. They didn’t seem homemade.
I had a great experience at Anejo! I loved the food, the food and service. Our waitress Karen was a pleasure and I will be back!

Great portions for the price point. Went during Happy Hour, before the Mariachi went live. Had the Tempura Shrimp (HH) and Ceviche (not part of HH specials) and we shared the Ribeye plate. Very generous wine pours and food servings. Would like to return to enjoy the live entertainment next time. If your in the area, definitely worth checking out.
Food was excellent. Very nice atmosphere. Outdoor seating available. Celebrated a birthday party had a large party. Our server is not cut out to be in the restaurant business. Had a terrible attitude. Every time I asked him to bring refills on water, chips, salsa he begrudgingly did it. Considering I spent over a $1000 there. I expected better treatment. When my guests asked him for additional condiments he said he couldn't do it because he was busy with another party!! Also he actually tossed my check to me on top of the table. Please know I am an 69 year old lady I wasn't acting like a Diva I just expected common courtesy. Oh by the way I drove one hour to get to the restaurant
Really great local spot for a large party that we had for work. We ordered several dishes to share and I have to say, the ceviche was super fresh, the guacamole was perfectly balanced, not too salty, and the tacos were pretty decent. They have a really large space which looks trendy, though I did find it to be a bit dark. We were outside at a long table and there were plenty of heaters. Service was good and worked well for large parties.
It was a nice experience. We opted to sit outside and we're able to watch the sunset. Very pretty. The food was decent. They brought out chips and salsa first - the salsa is spicy! They offered us guacamole, and never brought it out so we had to remind them. By that time the food was coming out so we didn't really get to enjoy it much. We ordered a beef dish and a fish dish both of which were fine. Not so memorable but good enough. There are a few parking options. Please DO NOT park in the underground parking below the restaurant - the stairs up are so sketchy. Go to the parking by the CVS.
This was my first time at this place. My family has been here for other events. The restaurant is actually on the second floor with outdoor and indoor seating. They also have what looks like a hall for celebrations, but I didn't ask about it but did see this room on my way to the bathroom. It was happy hour when we got there. Great prices. We had sangria and house wines for a great price. They have brunch on the weekends with mimosas if you are into that. We ordered tacos a la carte, burritos and chicken empanadas. The food was ok for me, but I appreciated the service. The staff is very friendly, hospitable and professional . It was also fast , but be mindful, it was very busy. We wanted to sit outside but it was too cold at around 4pm. You can see Ventura Boulevard and the mountains at a distance. They have live performances, and they advertise it on site as to when. The atmosphere was warm. I really like the way the restaurant is divided and the decorations. While I found the food to be ok, I enjoyed my time there with family. Yes, I would return when I'm in town. The bathrooms were clean and there is parking, but I think it was meter parking. We parked in the lot where Party City is in.

We have party of 10 people. The servers handled it pretty well. We started with complementary chips and salsa, it was okay. We ordered a lot of food, it is expensive but the portion is big. I ordered fish tacos that came with side salad. I ordered carne asada fries to share with everyone. The fish was deep fries, thin batter, needed more sauce with flavor. It had good side of fish. Carne asada fries, meat was dry, it has melted cheese, bean, and big slap of guacamole on top. They gave a lot of fries. My family likes the rice and beans. I wish they had different salsa options. Dessert look okay, churro was okay. Parking is under the building structure, the restaurant is on 3rd floor, there is elevator. On Friday, they did have singer started at 8pm.

Automatic 18% gratuity for 4 people, is this standard? I’m posting this review mainly to understand if this is a standard policy or something unique to our experience. We came in as a group of four and noticed that an automatic 18% gratuity was already added to our check. I was surprised, as this is usually reserved for larger parties. To be clear, we did not question it at the time because we were already planning to leave 20%. However, once we saw that 18% was automatically added, we simply left it as is. If the restaurant prefers to set the gratuity at 18%, then we respected that and did not add anything further. I’m an Asian restaurant owner myself and fully support tipping, I always leave 20% and planned to do so here as well. That said, being automatically charged gratuity for a table of four felt unusual and raised questions for me. I honestly want to ask other diners: has this happened to you too when dining with four people here? Service-wise, it was ok, not bad, but not particularly friendly or welcoming from the host or server. Again, nothing negative enough to complain about, just very average. Food and drinks were good, but the lack of clarity around the gratuity policy made the experience less comfortable. Clear communication would go a long way.
Being busy or in a Saturday night like our waitress said as excuses, it’s not acceptable ! We extremely disappointed and upset for the service we get on valentines night, our entire order was including soup and appetizers followed for the main plate with mash potatoes side, and beverage, we just got straight to the Main dish not even given silverware, we wait for the waiters for been around and ask for it but after while I have to stand up Look for other one and ask about, minutes later he show up saying sorry I am so bussy and you guys con in a Saturday night, we ask to cancel the appetizers and the extra side, and ask for the soda refill … but again it never came that we have to ask some one else for it,… just not acceptable no matter the day or time, management please organize better because we just one more customer but if you personnel it’s like this… I’m sure more than one will stop going to your place.
We had high hopes for this restaurant. I arrived earlier then the rest of my party. It was early afternoon and the restaurant was almost empty. They seated me at my table, as my party trickled in they checked on us periodically with pleasant banter. But once we ordered everything wend downhill from there. Almost everyone's order was wrong. About half of the group did not like their food. To make matters worse, we were not waited on at all after receiving our food, no "is everything okay " no drink nor water refill, no "desert?" We even had to track someone down to get the bill. Two people were charged incorrectly on their credit card, despite writing the information down for them. Sorry we will never be back and we will never refer anyone to this establishment in the future.
I really am disappointed in this place. I had high hopes reading all of the reviews before my visit. The service was definitely not good and weird. I ordered my food which took about 20 minutes after sitting down with my partner. We got our appetizer and food really fast. By the time we had finished our food we barely got our drinks . Our server was no where to be found throughout our visit and felt like we were rushed and but in the back of the restaurant. I should have said something when we had finished but honestly I just wanted to get out of there and enjoy something else. Food was good don’t get me wrong but service was very low par and strange. Wish I could give this place a different review….
I am writing this review to express my disappointment with the service I received during my recent visit. I wish I had good things to say about this establishment; however, my experience was negatively impacted by the conduct of the waiter assigned to our table. The waiter was beyond rude and condescending throughout our visit. As this was my first time dining at your restaurant, I asked a simple question regarding which margarita he would recommend flavor-wise. In response, he stated, “I’m a little busy,” which came across as dismissive and implied that I was inconveniencing him. As a customer, and particularly given that providing guidance on menu items is part of a waiter’s role, I expected a more professional and courteous response. Several hours later, when we asked for water, the same waiter again responded in a hostile manner, stating, “I already brought you water,” despite our request being reasonable. His tone was hesitant and unkind, which further contributed to an uncomfortable dining experience. I believe customer service should be respectful and attentive, especially toward first-time guests. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect those standards. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve service moving forward.
