Opinions de BlueFin Grill and Sushi Simi Valley
Bluefin is our "go to" place for not only great sushi but great food all around. The best sea bass I've tasted. We've been going here ever since they opened. Sue is our favorite server, she makes us feel like family.
When you read "Grill and Sushi", you think yakitori, but it's more like the Daily Grill. It's the only place I've ever been served bread rolls before my sushi! Everything was tasty though. We got sushi only with the exception of bow tie pasta for our baby. Kind and attentive wait staff as well.
Really good sushi. Was skeptical at first when it is advertised as sushi and grille, wondering how well they can really do sushi. Very pleased, especially with the rice-less roll options. Most places only have 1 or 2 options, here they have 6! All really good. Definitely recommend eating here and will be back.
When you find a sushi chef you love, you follow them wherever they go. That's how I discovered Bluefin. One of our favorite sushi bars in the Thousand Oaks / Simi Valley area. The sushi is fresh, portion sizes are always generous, and the chefs super friendly, remember your name and your preferences, and accommodating in creating exactly what you're craving. The tempura is great too, I sometimes order that at the sushi bar when I want something a little different. (We've only eaten at the sushi bar, so I can't speak to the rest of the menu in the other part of the restaurant, but I do see it's always busy). Highly recommend
The absolute best salmon dish I've ever had! I was honestly shocked it was as good as it was. I tried it on a whim and now I can't wait to go back and have it again. And the hot rolls they serve are amazing!
Food was excellent. Our server was attentive and pleasant. The atmosphere is enjoyable, it is just a bit dark for reading menu's.
Best quality in simi. I've never had a bad experience here and I've been going for years. The sushi chef, tony, is awesome and very friendly. My wife asked if they had a baked lobster roll like the one at hakari, Tony put his own spin on it and blew Hakari out of the water. 5 stars!
Slightly odd combination of Japanese and Italian food, but it works. Good value in a modest place with a family atmosphere. Pleasant wait staff. Most important, all our dishes were good.
This unusual restaurant is an amalgam of Italian and Japanese cuisine. Tiramisu and miso soup, sushi and pasta. But the food is superb, and the service impeccable. The seafood is especially excellent. The reataurant is a bit hard to find in a shopping center, but absolutely worth the trip. There is something for everyone here and it is all good.
Hidden gem in a shopping mal. A business associate has always been telling nice things, so my wife and I drove an hour to check this place out - the Chilean seabass was among the best I ever had in my life. Would I go again: can't wait. Would I make a 30+ min detour to go (a mandatory to get five stars in my rating scheme): absolutely.
This is one of the best seafood, Stew, soup, sushi, salad and etc. resturant In the town, Clean, reasonable price, friendly, excellent quality and quantity, roomy and clean dinning room. * Khosro is a great chef. Give him and yourself a chance and enjoy the food along with reasonable price. * I am a chef myself and worked in NYC Manhattan. * Dear Khoso, I wish you and your family the best. 🙏 Homayoon Kh.
Great visit as always. Great food. They still did pretty darn good short staffed with 2 large party's.
Haven't been in awhile. Was fantastic
I love this restaurant, my family has been going here since we moved to southern California in the early 2000's
Happy to discover this restaurant. Excellent service, delicious food! We will be back.
Never had any problem with the service as posted by others and the owner is very friendly. The sushi is outstanding. Pricier than other places but you get a lot more. They also have a good variety of other food on their menu. Try the filet mignon. XLNT.
Absolutely the best food in Los Angeles. From sushi to unique main course dishes, everything is the highest quality. You will always be happy when you leave.
Bluefin is our local goto place for sushi in Simi Valley. The traditional rolls are great and their custom rolls are even better. The Kodi, Hoss, Sha-sha are a few of the best. They have a full bar but their wine choices are not great. I recommend bringing your own wine. Their corkage fee is only $10.00.
Paul was a fantastic, attentive server with a bubbly personality and quick on his feet!! Exceptional food and atmosphere 👌🏻 A MUST HAVE is the Monster Banana 🍌 😋 delicious and very sharable.... A 5 out of 5!!
Really great food and service. I particularly like their seafood dishes. The atmosphere is OK. It is casual.
I'll make this quick and simple 🤙🏽 The parking lot can be busy. Carpool if possible ✅ Great food ✅ Pleasant staff ✅ Liquor ✅ You won't see Mocktails on the menu, but they can make it ✅ Worth it ✅ Indoor and outdoor ✅
Excellent food and excellent service. Not cheap, but at that middle point qhere you are happy spending the money for the quality. I am definitely going to be a regular.
Wow! This place had both great food and great service! My wife got the ravioli and I got the teriyaki chicken bento box. Both were excellent - the chicken was especially tender and the Japanese salad was fresh and crisp. Our waitress, Maria, did a wonderful job making sure we were well taken of. Plus the menu is rather large - there were so many selections that sounded good it was hard to choose; we'll definitely go back.
Really nice restaurant. Food is good, atmosphere, service 👍
Wow! Oh wow! We were here to see the Reagan Library and wanted sushi afterward. Google this place and saw great reviews. We tried it, and the reviews were right. Highly recommend.
Very nice place. Exceptional food and very good service. Had a Bento Box with salmon.

The food here is delicious, especially the sushi and the owners are awesome. The servers are top notched. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The Kodi roll was outstanding! Have it just the way it is presented from the chef…. No soy, no wasabi. Perfect blend of refreshing cool and mild spice heat. The sushi rice was a little loose, otherwise it would have been a 5 star for food. Paul, our server, was attentive, personable, and right on point. Excellent service, Paul! I must warn about the cocktails, though…. My wife’s Old Fashion was 15 dollars and didn’t come close to filling the glass, while my double bourbon was only 12. Buyer beware…
Best Sushi in Simi Valley. Mango Crunch Roll is my favorite. Very unique, flavorful, fresh. Service is always amazing too.
This is THE best sushi I have ever had in my life and hands down the freshest and most delicious in town! Every bite was a flavor explosion and I couldn't get enough. The Hoss roll is a chef’s kiss! But what truly sets this place apart is the amazing owner. Not only is Hoss incredibly welcoming and attentive, but he also makes sure to personally check in on his customers. It's clear that he takes great pride in his restaurant and goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest has an exceptional experience. And just when I thought things couldn't get any better, I tried their bread pudding for dessert. Oh my goodness, it was out of this world!!! I have never tasted anything like it - the perfect balance of sweetness and texture. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for the best sushi in town and we have been regulars for over 3 years now (yes, this review is long overdue)! Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
Absolutely incredible spot. Love the atmosphere, love the decor and the sushi was amazing. Definitely Americanized, but that's my style. Had the Mexican and the Simi rolls. The service was excellent as well, refilled drinks often and quick with everything
LOVE this restaurant! Absolutely fresh and tasty food, great service and quiet atmosphere. Went with friends for lunch; 3 had Bento boxes and I had the seared ahi with bok choy and mushrooms. They have the best seared ahi and several dishes with it; I enjoyed the entree. Look forward to returning soon! Understand from friends that the place is much busier for dinner, lunch was quiet and very pleasant. Close parking in shopping center.

First time here and it was great! We sat outside because we brought the dogs. It was nice. We started with a CRT roll which was delicious and then got a cucumber salad and miso soup. Both were great, miso soup was the best I've had. Then we shared the arugula mango salad and the filet mignon. The salad was great, I loved the dressing it came with. We asked for medium rare on the filet but it came out medium. It still tasted great but that's why I couldn't give it 5 stars.
Always enjoy our meal. 4 stars instead of 5 because they no longer have Pad Thai which was my favorite. Service was good and have plenty of variety in the menu to please everyone.
Food was excellent and fairly priced. Try the shrimp scampi with risotto. Sushi lovers were happy as well. We had a party of 10 so waiter was clearly not thrilled.
Fresh, delicious! Because our first visit was so awesome we went back the very next day. The great server we had the first day greeted us but was just finishing his shift we got this blonde girl who was horrible couldn't find her didn't fill our drinks another customer kept having to get up and look for her. There were only two tables she was working and she was in the back doing something and was not doing her job. food was still delicious and would go back but would not want her to be our server.
We went there to celebrate our friend’s birthday. The food was pretty tasty. The atmosphere was very nice. The wait staff was pretty good. Occasionally, we needed to get the tables bussed, because they weren’t keeping on top of it. Other than that, it was a nice evening.

Service was great. Very attentive. Ordered the Calamari as an appetizer but it wasn’t as fried as most restaurants do. So it was a little soft. I didn’t notice the menu says it’s lightly fried. I feel it needed to be cooked more to be more tasty. The Sushi was good. We tried different types. One called C2 was good since it had lobster, shrimp & avocado. I highly recommend their Marinated Salmon. It’s very delicious & cooked to perfection.
I'm surprised. I wasn't expecting a sushi restaurant in Simi Valley to be good but it was. My only complaint is that they need more help in the restaurant and to turn the lights up because it's really hard to read the menu, but the food was great and the service was fantastic. I would definitely come here again. I am a bit confused about the vastness of the menu, but if you have a person who wants sushi and another person who wants pasta, this is a very good option.

My friends told me this was the best in Simi and well they were wrong. I guess some people don't know good Japanese food. The miso soup was bland and tasted like it was from a mix. The salmon was overcooked and dry. Maybe I came on a bad day, I don't know but I was not impressed.
First time there. We sat outside, very nice. Our server seemed nice but she had forgot to bring our two miso soups we ordered , our appetizer arrived but the soups never came. My husband's dinner shrimp and angel hair came..which he enjoyed! ..my tak roll came almost 15 minutes later...he hated to eat without me getting my dinner..but I didn't want his to get cold. Food was really good Just wish the dinners came out closer at the same time...😐
The food was great but the service was rather lackluster, which is why I’m giving it 3 stars. During the time we were there it wasn’t all that busy yet we barely saw our waitress. Waited a while just to get a refill on my drink and when I tried to order desert. Again, the food itself is great. The service is hit or miss though.
It was OK. Really not much else to say, I will probably go back if I'm with a group that wants to go there but it will not be a top choice for me. The decor was nice though. Edit; I had pasta, not the sushi.

Party of 5 adults and two infants. We got there on time for our reservation. Food took over an hour to get delivered to the table, one dish wrong, which we were charged for. We had ordered sushi, and asked how long to get more dishes, we were told over 30 minutes. We left hungry, and with some bad excuses from the owner. Last time we visit
We have decided to no longer patronize this business due to absolute horrible customer service experienced EVERY time we've frequented here this year. The service here has never been more than acceptable but over the last 7-8 months it has become a joke. The food is good but their dismal service has made this place somewhere we will avoid in the future.
Wow this was awful. Tiny portions, everything soaked in sugary sauce with no flavor. My dinner salad had exactly one cherry tomato cut in half, four slivers of cucumber, a thumbnail size of bleu cheese, and about an eighth of a slice of bacon. Couldn’t even eat the chicken lettuce wrap because the sauce was overwhelmingly sweet.
I went here last night to celebrate my sister’s birthday, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The service was terrible — our server was nowhere to be found for half the night, which made it hard to get any attention when we needed it. The sushi rolls were decent, but honestly, the cost didn’t make sense for the quality of the food. I had the beef and broccoli, and I could barely finish it. It was lackluster at best. On top of that, there was no pre-bussing; we had to ask multiple times for our empty plates to be cleared. Overall, I expected more for the price and the occasion. It’s a shame, because the place had potential, but the service and food quality didn’t live up to expectations.
One of the worst dining experiences we've had, starting from the reception lady at the entrance, all the way to the rushing us to eat as soon as possible so they shut down earlier and go home. The quality of food was so low that we couldn't digest it all day next day. We had called and reserved in advance, but when we arrived, the lady at the front claimed they didn't have a reservation system. She made us feel unwelcomed at 8pm even though the place closes at 9pm:
Got calamari and it came basically not fried at all. Worst calamari I've ever had, would not recommend to my dog. Yes, I know it says "lightly fried" but i asked for extra crispy and it came like it hadn't touched a friar, gross.
