Margaritas are great! The food, not for me , I can't do spicy and practically everything is spicy there. My mom loved it though. Everything was fresh and made on the spot. Too bad it was so spicy.

Place is great, food is very flavorful and the staff is extremely friendly, my favorite place to go for eating or just hanging out and having a couple margaritas best in Simi Valley 🍸

Eating the camarones aguachiles was a religious experience.

Service can't be beat. They are on it! And with genuine hospitality. That and spot on drinks makes this "our place". But they don't stop there. The food makes my toes melt with flavor. All this in beautiful and comfortable decor.

Best place in Simi Valley where you can find great Mexican food, best in town Micheladas. The staff are very nice and attentive. Great for a quick bite and a well served beer. Large selection of spirits and beer. And the wings are really good. Overall a great experience.

Atmosphere is nice and quiet. I'm able to hear our conversation without having to shout. No matter who your server is they are friendly...... Juan is the BEST!! Our food was good. I love the beans and Carne asada. Yummmy

The arroz con pollo at Palapa was delicious and just the right amount of spicy. Also, I prefer going to places like this that are family-owed instead of a chain restaurant. Hostess let us know they closed at 4:30 pm and we only had 30 minutes. We chose to stay. Menu and website said it closed at 5pm. Hostess sat us down did not look too happy to have us stay, another lady walked right in after we did and did not say a word to her. Hummm...okay. Our food came and was excellent! My niece saw a cockroach walking behind me. I was asked to ignore that, well I had a difficult time eating. Okay long story short, we finished dinner at 4:56 pm. Luis check on the bug issue, and the hostess needed to have a little more customer service. Sorry our visits are normally excellent. Our apologies for walking in at 4pm.

My most recent visit, Cashier/server Fatima shared with me that they indeed have and serve Tortas, even though Tortas are not on the menu (go figure...). So, of course, I ordered the Carne Asada Torta... It was so damn delicious (¡deliciosa!) ¡Gracias Fatima!

Went here for the first time. I've seen the place before but never really paid it much attention. Our family checked this place out due to how busy one of our favorite places was, and we were able to be seated in the bar area. Not a big deal as they had a couple TVs for sports. In our view, with what we had ( street tacos, enchiladas, and hard tacos) we will return. Service was great, and all service staff was respondent to our requests. The absolute best in town? Hard to say, but the food we ordered was very good, and we'd absolutely go back. It's another locally owned venue that we will happily support.

Small family owned place. They have good food and the service is good. My wife and I spent about 60 with drinks.

Only place to go for Mexican food in Simi Valley. Drinks are amazing, bartenders are heavy pourers! Food is authentic and always good, no matter what you order. I recommend the Arroz Con Pollo.

I would've have give them a five star rating, but the service was bad. The waitress was in a bad mood. It took them 40 mins to bring us our food, even though we called in advance and let them know there would be a 12 party. If they don't like their job they shouldn't be working there period. other than the service the food was good.

Ordered dinner last night for pick-up. Loved my ArozCoPolo (sorry for the spelling) and my husband got a chicken burrito. Food was great, however, I was a bit shocked to find out that I was charged an additional $1.25 for using my credit card for payment. When I asked one of the servers they said it was because of Covid. So I pay a yearly member ship for the card and now I pay to use it. Doesnt make sence. Loved they food but will find another place to have Mexican Food in Simi Valley.

Unfortunately, all the kitchen staff did was place more beans on top of the cheese to hide it and turned the chicken that had cheese on it upside down to hide it. This was not noticed until we got home and the child refused to eat it. We have been trying to call the restaurant for three days and they never answer. The wasted meal was almost 20 dollars. So frustrating. Update: After 6 more calls over a couple days, I finally got to speak with someone. Luis was very helpful and will get it taken care of. I updated my star rating from 1 to 4.

Restaurant is in process to accustom to a new service guidelines due to Covid-19. Waitress was attentive but in between phone to-go orders calls and 3 tables, she did a decent job. I ordered tostada mixta (cook shrimp, imitation crab and octopus, half frozen by the way) but taste was good

I had the shredded beef taco and tamale combination. It was decent but I've had better. I was there during happy hour and the bar was busy. Pretty bar maids to sit and have a chat with while having a cocktail or two.

Stopped going there as they charge $1.25 to use a credit card. That to me is way too much. I use my card for points/cash and pay balance every month. I use to go there twice a month. Never again will I eat there.

We came here because of the good reviews but unfortunately happy, the milanesa was very dry over cooked. The shrimp takes a little to sweet. The rice,beans and drinks were awesome.

I was told by the waiter that their burritos are big and worth the price yet when I received the burrito it was average sized at best and severely lacking in beans! If I'm paying 14$ for a burrito I don't think its too much to ask you don't skimp on beans of all things. They made it incredibly fast so that's a plus but it was a rip off and the waiter lied to me.

Just got a shrimp cocktail was charged $17 for it the taste is there however the pieces of octopus are way to big they should consider cutting it in to bite size portions.

Poor customer service . First the waiter brought me the wrong beverage, waited 10 minutes for extra sauce for my food, then the waiter had the nerve to ask me when I was done eating how long I was going to be there because he had a big party coming in and if I can move to another table. Not a great visit.

The staff is definitely not friendly, when I asked for extra condiments they forgot to bring them; i had to ask twice and they didn't bring them until I was almost done with my meal. The waitress did not come to check on us. Very poor service! And the food wasn't all that great either!

We have been coming to palapa for the last couple years and normally the food is pretty good but lately it's been hit and miss tonight I ordered a chimichanga and my husband brought it home directly from the restaurant and it was pure mush not a nice crispy chimichanga like it should be! I was very disappointed and not happy with my meal!

After reading the reviews My husband and I really wanted to try the food in this restaurant but after of 15min to 20min been sitting no one stop by to bring chips or ask for what we want to drink. A family got there and as soon as they got there they help them... Bad customer service, they dont have an excuse because there were only about 5 people in the restaurant.... Muy mal servicio, nadie nos a tendio después de esperar de 15 a 20 min. Casi nos salimos y ni cuenta se dan... Cuando me acerqué a la mesera a decirle gracias por los servicios, me dijo que de nada no se dio cuenta que ni a mi ni a mi esposo no nos avian atendido... No lo recomiendo.... I was highly disappointed in Palapas tonight. Plain and simple not the same experience as in the past. I’ve relocated to Ventura and was in town and decided to go eat there since it had been a while and introduced my brother to it and he also had a horrible experience. The food tasted horrible and they forgot to add our sour cream and guacamole. I brought it to the waiters attention and he brought us out some but still didn’t change the taste of the food. The quality of food was horrible in comparison to the past. Overall overrated and over priced. I will not be returning ever again.

Food is pretty good. Terrible seevice!. Walked in to get a michelada and seafood. Micheladas were terrible I needed extra clamato and lemon to fix it however the waitress was gone, never checked on us. We kept looking around to see if anyone would assist us and nothing. Only 3 waitresses for the whole restaurant and this. After waiting 20 minutes with no food or service. I walked up and jus paid the bill of the two micheladas and left. Management need to jump on this service matter. Such good good place but service will make your clients not come again..

Then a family of 6 arrives and they get helped immediately with drinks and orders immediately. My wife and I left. Please dont waste your time with this place the staff is unorganized and the prices were overpriced. $0.95 for sour cream and $1.50 for guacamole to add to a $10.00 burrito. I can't comment on the food and how it taste in my opinion probably bad like their service.
