Had a great dinner here! The Pad See Ew was so good, loved the noodles. the avocado curry was great too (the Thai spice level is actually spicy here!). Also enjoyed the crab appetizer and the coconut shrimp. Highly recommend having a meal here!
This is one of our favorite restaurants to go out to when we are in Lake Tahoe. The food is delicious, and the service is usually quite good even with a full restaurant. We particularly like that it's so close to Heavenly California, as we often stay close by during ski season.
It was busy, we were hot...they opened another area for us and gave us a fan to help cool us down. That's service! The menu is extensive... The food was fantastic... The staff will explain any meal and make adjustments for allergies and pickiness. They have bar seating as well as the main section of the restaurant and a nice outdoor seating area. It's off the beaten path of hwy 50, so it's much more relaxed than the main tourist spots. It was yummy, filling, cute, clean, all round a good new place to try! Thanks for lunch everyone!
This was the first time I stopped into Thai on Ski RUn. This was by far one of the best meals we've had. They set the fried chicken on fire table side. Coconut soup was amazing, as well as the Yellow Curry. Prices were more than reasonable. It's one of the few meals where you leave still talking about how good it was. Caution - level 5 heat is serious, and I love heat.
BLUF: Would definitely recommend! My g/f and I visited for dinner at about 7:45 on Monday evening. Place was mostly full with people consistently coming in as other people were leaving and people were sitting outside. We had to wait approximately 2 minutes for a table to be cleaned to be seated inside. Together we ordered Chicken Satay, Drunken Noodles w/Shrimp (medium spicy), Mango Curry w/Chicken (spicy), bowl of Rice, and Thai Tea w/Boba. Servers were attentive and took our orders quickly and removed empty dishes as necessary. Food was flavored very well and portions were generous. Wish we had taken photos but we were to busy enjoying our food.
Excellent establishment! The food was delicious and the staff was amazing! They went above and beyond for me as I accidentally left my credit card on the table and wasn't able to return to pick it up. They graciously mailed it back to me. This is evidence that there are still consciousness, considerate, and kind people in this world. I am eternally grateful. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Was craving Asian food on the way to Lake Tahoe and came across this place that opens til 10pm. We ordered Tom Yum Soup and Fried Egg Noodle Soup which tasted good. The service from Pum who attended to us was very warm and professional. For the price, we felt that the portion was generous. The only feedback I have is that the music could be softer and calmer to help customers feel more at ease given the acoustics of the place when the dining area is full, but that’s a personal preference. Overall would recommend this place! Thank you once again.
I can’t say what others have said is true or not true, but I have to say that I felt the food was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food came out in a good reasonable time. We had the Dick Curry, the Avocado Curry, and the Tim Kha soup with pork. Everything was delicious. I must concede that their booths were a little tight and we had to move to a table, but they were accommodating for that.
Yum! We did a to-go order of Tofu Pad See Ew and Orange Tofu with rice. The Pad See Ew was delicious! The orange Tofu was alright. But everything was really fresh, staff was very nice, the restaurant seemed pretty and smelled delicious. We will be back!
We were in South Lake Tahoe for the weekend and wanted some Thai food. There are many in town but the choices were limited due to restrictions. One place doesn’t allow dine in. One place wants to check everyone for Vaccine cards. One place is backordered by 1.5 hours. We ended up at this place here. We were told the order would take 1 hour. We actually got it in 44 minutes. They only allow outside dining in their picnic tables. Food was decent for this part of town.
IWe eat Thai food almost everywhere we go. This is the best ever! They have a nice vegan/veg section but they also said they can make almost anything vegan and no problem leaving out fish sauce. We started with the small thom ka soup which was delicious! We also had the fresh rolls which were huge and tasty! We then had the drunken noodles.. We substituted the peppers for broccoli and had it with tofu. This was SO GOOD. Really thick delicious noodles cooked perfectly, tofu which was also perfect and the sauce was so yummy. Absolutely get this! Service was fast and every employee was sweet and friendly. Clean cute restaurant too. Definitely going back! Best Thai food in Tahoe hands down.
The food at this new Thai restaurant is surprisingly authentic! We loved all the dishes we tried, including Tom Kha (Best I've had in the United States, perfect for after skiing/snowboarding), Basil Roasted Duck, and Pad See Ew. In conclusion, this is my new go-to Thai restaurant in the Taheo area. The owner said she's working on implementing new menu items in the months to come, including whole roasted duck. I can't wait!
great place for thai - it gets busy on the weekends so expect to wait (for both a table and for your food). good flavors. our table had the tom kah, green curry, yellow curry, cucumber salad, potstickers, garlic stir fry, and fresh rolls. flavors were great with the perfect level of spice.
We got the pineapple fried rice (no egg/meat, extra pineapple), spicy eggplant, pumpkin curry with veggies, lemongrass noodle soup and sesame balls. The pineapple fried rice was out of this world, would definitely recommend getting that. Everything else was pretty good too.
I visited Tahoe for Memorial day vacation and had dinner twice there! I ordered my favorite papaya salad to go when I left lake Tahoe😆 That's how delicious it was!! I'll definitely go back when I visit here again! The only downside was the ordering system. Currently they're open for pickup only, but have outside tables you can eat at. If you wait in line to order in person, you will wait a long time because they are taking lots of phone orders. Call ahead instead!
I think it’s a Thai family-run restaurant which makes it so cozy, nice, and authentic. I ordered crab rangoon, BBQ pork, seafood tom yum, and they all were delicious! Service was quick and attentive. The price is reasonable too for the portion. Definitely one of the best and must-try restaurant in Tahoe. I will come back if I ever visit Lake Tahoe again in the future :)
Went there last night, not really expecting anything especially coming from socal with tons of good Asian food and they also had a bit of Thai with some other cousines going on. But I was pleasantly surprised by their food and service. They could do a better job of letting the customers know that this is the restaurant though. I had to ask a customer coming out of the restaurant to confirm that this is the right place. Wonton soup: would recommend. Pretty rich wontons with flavorful soup. It wasn't too blend or too salty. Crispy roll: could be better. I felt like it was a bit too hard having the coating be so thick. Siumai: I can't say how true the siumai here is compared to the good ones (because I don't have too many experience with it), but I enjoyed it. It was packed and flavorful. Tom Kha: would recommend, especially on a hot day. The flavor is pretty refreshing and heart-warming. Lemon in it also was good. Really nice for a cold winter day and probably favorite out of the dishes we ordered. Noodle soup: a bit blend, but still good. It was our least favorite entree but the other two were superb. Service: the servers were extremely nice and friendly, came to check in on us every 5-10 min and one of them spoke some Korean to us which we really appreciated. Atmosphere: when I went, it was near valentine's, so they had a bit of Valentine decorations with the servers wearing a headband. Thought it was cute. They had red heart shaped container with candies as a dessert.
Unexpectedly good! While most of the menu looks good, it's Chef Panda's hardcore Thai page with no subs that really got me excited for Thai food. We got the Tom Saap (hot and spicy Thai pork rib soup) and Fried Pork Belly with Jaew Isan Dipping Sauce. Both were delicious and good sized servings. The jaew isan was amazing and it was great that they actually roasted the chilli before making the dip. Additionally, these are dishes you are unlikely to find in most Thai restaurants in the US, so finding a place that serves them is a treat We used to go to Orchid, but I think this is our new go to for Thai food in South lake Tahoe
Our group of 4 went here for dinner on a Friday after skiing. Our waiter was awesome, there was only one order of the spring rolls left and he rushed to make sure we would get them. We ordered a bunch of dishes to split. The timing of appetizers and main courses coming out were perfect. We ordered the fresh spring rolls, vegan pot stickers, papaya salad, pumpkin curry with tofu, tofu drunken noodles, and spicy thai eggplant with shrimp. We would 10/10 recommend ordering everything except for the Thai eggplant, which could have cooked better, maybe over an open flame. Needed a little more sauce too. Our favorite items were the spring rolls (with incredible peanut sauce which we asked for more of), the drunken noodles, and the pumpkin curry.
We loved everything we ordered, and the service was impeccable. We visited on a Tuesday night and it wasn’t busy when we arrived but was quite busy when we left at 7:30pm. The green curry was decided as the best dish ordered. As you can tell from the photos I didn’t remember to take them before we devoured the food. But honestly, we would order everything again. The garlic chicken was really garlicky and that’s how we like it! Great local place! Go check it out!
Absolutely loved my meal at Thai Ski On The Run! I ordered the spicy Panang curry with tofu and a side of jasmine rice, along with the Tom Yum soup. Both dishes were bursting with flavor and perfectly balanced in spice. The curry had a rich, creamy texture with just the right kick, and the soup was tangy, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. Highly recommend this spot if you’re in Lake Tahoe and craving authentic Thai food. Will definitely be back! Great for vegetarians too!
Went late 30mins before closing time on a Sunday night. The service was quick ..the waiters responsive. Everything tasted good., Avoid pre-made foods if Goin late in the day . The food quantity was good , 2 of us shared and had leftovers . Our order: Fresh spring roll 1 order : 2 rolls , stuffed with rice vermicelli greens and avocado. One of the roll had a hard shell due to dehydration..I am guessing it was made much early in the day and refrigerated and the avocado was starting to go off. It was a good starter. I will avoid it if I go in the latter half of the day next time. Tom yum soup: Spice level 3 opened up our nasal passages, very flavorful 1 order of basil fried rice: Spice level 4 This was amazing..flavors on point...Spice level on point...very well made.
The food was so delicious!! We got the cashew stir fry with beef and the pumpkin curry with chicken and shared a bowl of jasmine rice. Entrees don't come with rice, so you'll have to buy a cup or large bowl as a side dish. The stir fry sauce was subtlety sweet, and the curry was well balanced between the spice of the chilis and the savoriness of the pumpkin. Their Thai iced tea was also really good and not super sweet. I'm not sure if they just needed the table, but we felt a little bit rushed after sitting for 30 or 40 minutes, so we ended up taking the rest of our food to go. Apart from that, the service was really good.
Excellent! We are from SF Bay Area and have phenomenal food close by, but this was truly excellent. Wasn’t expecting much and they blew past my expectations. We had a larger group of 6 people and our favorites were the Tom Kha soup, the papaya salad, the pad Thai, the crab fried rice, and the pumpkin curry. Service is excellent too, but they do rush you as plates are brought out fast and cleared fast too. No time to relax haha but we were happy with it, since we were starving and it was late.
Loved Thai on Ski Run so much that we made it a point to go back a second time. We especially loved the Massaman Curry and Stir Fry. Service was quick and pleasant. Tables were cramped and close together. Looking forward to our third visit! See you there.
Enjoyed a nice warm meal after a whole day at Heavenly. Recommend the pumpkin curry! Rice is separate but serving size is pretty big for a side dish.
This place was great. All your regular Thai fare but also fun options like avocado curry and pumpkin curry (we got both and they were really good!) We got the pork jerky as well and YUM. Would absolutely go again, although the portion sizes are huge so we’ve got enough left over for lunch tomorrow too. The prices were really reasonable too. Hope to come here many years in the future!

Excellent Thai food. Was recommended by one of the locals. Pumpkin curry was creamy with a touch of spice. Basil pork belly Crunchy, with basil sauce. Cooked perfectly. Wonton soup Great balanced broth. Not typical Chinese restaurant.

Thai On Ski Run recently relocated to 2100 Lake Tahoe Blvd, sharing space inside Kung Pao Hustle (another restaurant by the same owner). The good news? The move hasn’t changed what matters most - the food is exactly as delicious as before. Their tom kha gai has the perfect balance of coconut and spice, and the basil fried rice are consistently satisfying. The pad Thai hits all the right notes, and their curries showcase authentic flavors that keep me coming back. Don’t miss the fresh rolls when they’re available - they’re a refreshing complement to any meal. The pork belly with basil is another standout (it’s my girlfriend’s favorite for good reason). Beyond the food, the service is efficient and genuinely friendly, with an owner who clearly cares about his customers. Highly recommended.

Fast, friendly service and a wonderful owner make this a great spot for Thai food in South Lake Tahoe.
New location, same great food! Thai On Ski Run is now at 2100 Lake Tahoe Blvd inside Kung Pao Hustle. The tom kha chicken and drunken noodles are my favorites, but everything from the pad Thai to the curries is excellent. Try the duck with basil and the pork jerky , fresh rolls when available. Quick service, friendly staff, and a genuinely nice owner. Highly recommend!

Everything is expensive these days, and that's especially true in mountain towns, and ESPECIALLY in mountain ski/resort towns. This restaurant is no exception. Way over priced. BUT, at least when you come here you get a very tasty meal for the money. The service, while not necessarily overly friendly, was fast and efficient. The atmosphere was a bit lacking, in my opinion, but the location is solid being right on Ski Run. And, like I said, the food was very good. The prices will keep me from going back, but I don't think they should stop anyone from trying it at least once.
There was no one else there when I arrived. They brought a menu and sat down a water that was cold but with no ice. I like ice in my water, which is a quibbling preference of mine but what I thought was: By bringing a drink with no ice, they have a better chance of getting you to purchase a drink with ice in it. Then I waited 10 minutes. She finally took my order, still no one else in the restaurant and I ordered a Thai iced tea, Panang curry and Thai fried rice. The curry did NOT come with white rice. Pretty much every Thai restaurant I have ever patronized has rice accompanying the curry that you order. A bowl of rice cost four bucks. This is why I ordered Thai fried rice, not only because I like Thai fried rice, but because I could use the rice and add my curry to it. Sure enough, the Thai iced tea comes almost immediately, loaded with ice. If you drink it quickly, you will order another! The food followed relatively soon afterward. The Thai fried rice wasn't as flavorful as some that I have had, but it was still good. The Panang curry was excellent. Maybe it was my mood, but I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being nickeled and dimed to death by having to pay extra for rice that is commonly provided with a menu item and that combined with the unusual lag time between my arrival and when I was able to place my order colored my entire experience. Hence the 4 stars out of 5, primarily for a negatively influenced service experience.
I was pleased with the menu and the veggie options. -My food unfortunately wasn’t super flavorful. It tasted more like grease than anything. -The dining area was very small and didn’t leave much room for the servers or customers to move around. I would come back and give this place another chance.. but I would probably order something else.
Very nice food and lots of options for vegetarians! We ordered yellow curry with tofu (amazing) and pineapple fried rice (decent). Everyone was so polite and did a great job! The only reason for 4 stars is the wait time for food after ordering, we had to wait ~40 minutes to get the food. Everything else was amazing!
Really good food and service here, the pineapple fried rice and mango sticky rice was perfection! Small picky point from me is that I asked for a level 4 spicy and there was no spice at all. Otherwise everything we ordered was excellent and I'd happily eat here every night we're in town.
Good Thai food in South Lake Tahoe and the price is affordable as well. No indoor dining is available but there're tables and chairs outside for you to sit at. The service is limited. For example, the don't provide glass of water and you have to buy bottled water or other drinks. I recommend calling ahead to make your order, otherwise you'll have to wait around for 20-25 min for the food on a busy weekend during dinner time. I didn't give a five star rating because the food (especially the papaya salad and pad Thai) is a bit too salty for my taste.
Pad Kee Mao 🔥 Pad Thai 🔥 Tom Kha 🔥 Red Curry 🔥 Yellow Curry 🫤 2022/11/19 Outside: Arrived afternoon around 2pm. No line. Seated immediately Inside: Nice and warm. Pretty cozy Food: Everything was very good, but the yellow curry was too sweet. Recommend the red or panang curry instead. My friends noted that the baby corn in the pad kee mao seemed off
One of the best Thai food I had. Long wait but worth it. Only negative is understaffed, so overwhelmed by deluge of customers. So, only go if all the time in the world. Pad Thai was amazing, so was panang curry. Spicy tofu. Basil fried rice was out of this world. They are woefully understaffed. With Nationwide labor shortage I felt charitable to not penalize them more than one star for poor front service.
The service was good, the portion sizes generous and cosy atmosphere..but it definitely isn't authentic thai spice and flavour levels. The Tom kha soup was the best thing for sharing. All the other dishes seemed mild in spices and flavour. Even asking for chill didn't help The spring rolls were good, the crab fried rolls avoidable. The ice tea and coffee was just excruciatingly sweet and they can't make it lesser. The orange chicken was too chewy. Our basil chicken and the curries were not bad. Maybe we just ordered the wrong items since other tables seemed to enjoy the beef and steak items more.
First time dining here. We had take out on our last visit to Tahoe. Food is pretty good and service very friendly. Spicy basil duck was little too sweet and didn’t have any hint of spiciness despite requesting medium spicy. Would skip this dish next time as duck was fatty n hardly any meat on it. Rest was good.
One of the few places opened after 2 in that area, we decided to give it a shot. The food was delicious, fresh ingredients all the way bursting in flavor. I had the green curry with chicken and my wife had the green curry with Tofu. Great dishes and very well balanced. I also tried the Thai beer and it was pretty good. My only complaint is the service being a bit slow and seating not very comfortable.

I order regularly from this place. The food is normally really good. The rate of spiciness is not the same all the time. Today I ordered spicy eggplant with chicken, one of my favorites from this place, today it was tasteless, the eggplant was not completely cooked, and the level of spiciness I requested was 3, today it was nonexistent compared to the last time I ordered it.
Good food, decent service. The duck curry and ginger seafood dishes were pretty good, although I don’t think the servers really know what’s on the menu or what the options are. They said the seafood wasn’t breaded, but then it was. Overall still a solid Thai place, esp for a tourist town.
We ordered online and received four curries, but none had rice. That was disappointing. I've never seen curry come without rice before. I encourage the owner to put a note on the menu that rice isn't included. We would have ordered rice if we had known. Other than that, everything was good.
This was our first time trying Thai food while visiting Lake Tahoe in July. The restaurant itself looked okay, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We tried several dishes, including the pineapple fried rice and drunken noodles, and genuinely enjoyed the flavors and variety. However, by the end of the dinner, I started to feel unwell, and by the time we got back to our hotel, I became sick. My husband got sick about an hour later too. We’re not sure if it was an ingredient we weren’t used to or something off with the food, but we’re certain it made us sick, which was unfortunate because we had enjoyed the meal.

Most expensive curry in town does not even come with rice. My Panaang curry only had cut up peppers in it and a few pieces of frozen peas and carrots - flavor was also very mediocre. Over priced
We were very excited to try this place because it had raving reviews. It was definitely not that much of a rave for us. We ordered it with some spice but it came with none. We weren't even asked if we wanted it to be spicy. Everything was very plain Jane. I was excited for the dessert but that was a disappointment. The pictures may look good but in reality, it absolutely was not. I want to give the benefit of the doubt because they moved locations but at the same time, a change of location shouldn't be the reason your food isn't good. I hope they see this and improve on the customer service and quality of their food. Price is absolutely ridiculous. If we ordered on doordash pickup not delivery it would've been over $125 but since we ordered over the phone for pick up, it was $95. The food is 100% not worth that price.

Food was really good. But they charge me for two calamaris when I order and got just one. There was no manager and they said they’ll call me next day and give me a solution but they didn’t. I paid an extra calamari. Is a good place but double check your receipt
Food was okay but the guy who took my order over the phone was really rude. Surprisingly he is the owner too. While ordering when I tried to explain him that I don't want meat or egg, he kept cutting me off declaring that I should just say that I am vegan. I am not a vegan, I am vegetarian. While picking the order, I asked for chili oil, he said we only have hot sauce, do you want it or not. This is no way to talk to a customer. I am never going to order from here again, doesn't matter the food quality. I went there after reading the reviews but at times, people forget that being humble and listening to customers are more important.
The food seemed very authentic and they workers were kind to always refill our water. Their cooking style did not have much depth of flavor and there was A LOT of fish sauce used in all the dishes we had. I could not actually eat the Pad See Ew with beef I ordered because it smelled so fishy!
The worst food I’ve ever had for years. They served RAW chicken when we ordered satay chicken, it was completely raw, covered with sauce, and then they still charged us. We waited for over 40 minutes after ordering and how could they still not have the chicken cooked properly! Do not eat here, it’s a total disaster here!
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Thai on Ski Run at Lake Tahoe, and I am deeply disappointed with the quality of their food and the overall service. I cannot recommend this establishment based on the multiple issues I encountered during my visit. Firstly, the Thai food I ordered was subpar at best. The yellow and mango curry lacked the authentic flavors and depth that I have come to expect from a Thai restaurant. The poorly prepared pad Thai was bland and lacked the balance of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors that make this dish so beloved. It was clear that little care was put into the preparation and presentation of these dishes. While the papaya salad was the only saving grace of my meal, it was not enough to redeem the overall disappointing experience. The addition of chicken to vegetarian options caused quite a fuss, which was not handled properly by the staff. Instead of offering a sincere apology or providing a suitable solution, they showed no remorse for their mistake. This lack of accountability and customer service is unacceptable. Additionally, the service itself was lackluster. The waitstaff seemed disinterested and inattentive, leaving customers waiting for extended periods without any attention. It is clear that they have not been properly trained in providing a satisfactory dining experience. In conclusion, my dining experience at Thai on Ski Run was far from satisfactory. The poor quality and taste of the food, combined with the lack of professionalism and accountability from the staff, leaves no room for me to recommend this place. I would advise looking elsewhere for authentic and well-prepared Thai cuisine in the Lake Tahoe area.
First of all, the food was delicious. But never in my life have I felt discriminated by my own people. The two girls, one skinny the other deep voiced, yelled at me for not wearing a mask when I walked into the door but the maskless white couple that followed suite, they didn’t say a word to. They say first come first serve but when I arrived with 4 different parties, they had no idea who came first! I suggested a waiting list but they looked at me like I was crazy and very stubborn on any suggestions or changes. I will NEVER come back here because of these two girls who have no idea what they’re doing. Such a shame as the food was truly good.
Good food, but their unethical practice outweighs all the positive. We ordered chicken pad Thai and yellow curry and it was good. When we tried to pay with two cards, some random guy, who might be the manager, came to us saying he made the mistake of charging the full amount on one card. We politely asked if he can void the transaction and run it on the two cards. He declined and just stood there. It was very awkward for a minute. We didn't want to ruin our dining experience so we just signed and left. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
The air pollution from kitchen here is insane. Do not come here for dine in. Cannot breathe a minute in the lobby. Everyone is coughing
Ordered at 716 for pickup, order was still not ready at 9:12. Seriously. Then the lady yelled at me for being "impatient" when it's a holiday and that's totally legit because clearly I'm the moron for not understanding how "10 more minutes" followed by another hour of waiting is a totally acceptable thing. She said she refunded me. Hopefully she did a better job on the refund than she did on the food order. I have no idea how good or bad the food was - normally when I ragecook everything turns out great. Atmosphere was ... Tense EDIT: Refund went through EDIT 2: Attached screen shot of the order showing my payment went through at 7:16 No fact being misrepresented here. In the upper left of the attached photo is the time I took the screenshot - which is when I was realizing I was dealing with a business I should warn people about.
