If you love dumplings and Chinese cuisine this is definitely a gem. Been coming to this restaurant and the one in Plano for the past year and it's a good too for good food. I've not tried anything yet I don't like. The orange chicken is a must have. I've had the soup dumplings, fried chicken thigh fried rice, beef soup, wonton soup, green beans. Thai milk tea is delicious And lots of other dishes. Staff is fast and friendly. Orders come out as they are ready. Highly recommend.
I'm going to admit something... this place is so good, I eat here no less than 3 times every week. I'm addicted to the dim dum deliciousness. The Xiao Long Bao is by far the best I've ever eaten, and believe me, I've put that statement to the test. The staff is incredible. Super smart, friendly, and just great people who treat you like a friend. And that was even before I started showing up on the reg. When I have a friend who's having a long day at work or going through stuff, I send them Wu Wei Din, and I know it adds a smile. This is a 10-star restaurant.
We have been dining here for years, before that we went to the original location but Lewisville is closer to us. The food here is the most authentic Taiwanese flavored restaurant we found since living here in DFW area in the last 7 years. Serviced is always good and food is served quickly. The portions are generous and match price point. Everything is good here. If you’re not sure what to order here, try the xiao long bao pork flavor (steamed pork buns), shrimp fried rice, fried pork chop, traditional boiled dumplings—pork with cabbage. String beans with garlic or fried Taiwanese cabbage (different cabbage from US cabbage which is round and tough. Taiwanese cabbage is elliptical shape that tastes sweet and tender) ) with garlic. My son loves the Taiwanese braised beef noodle bowl. The ma po tofu is yummy as well! Only ask would to expand more on dessert dishes! Like red bean bun or the traditional do Hua with simmered sweet peanuts and soybean milk.
Really enjoyed our meal here. The string beans are some of the best I’ve ever had! Potstickers are good. Crab rangoons are perfect for anyone with a shellfish allergy, they don’t actually have any crab in them. Great flavor! Egg rolls are good too! Orange chicken was crispy and flavorful.
Sally was the best waitress- 10/10! She was so sweet, friendly and helpful, and made our experience absolutely wonderful! I can’t believe we have lived in the Dallas area this long and only now got to try Wu Wei Din. The food was amazing too. Pan fried buns were my fave! Beef noodle soup is solid too and my husband loved the soup dumplings. Can’t wait to come back and next time bring friends and family!
Wu Wei Din just opened in Dallas and I was really impressed! The place is big and welcoming, with a modern and comfortable vibe. The staff is super nice and attentive, which made the dining experience even better. The food is delicious and definitely reminds me of Din Tai Fung, but at a more affordable price point. Most dishes are only about $10–$11, which is a great deal for the quality. I tried the dandan noodles — they were flavorful, though I think the sauce could be a little thicker since it was slightly liquidy. Still, very tasty overall. If you’re looking for good Taiwanese-style dishes in Dallas without breaking the bank, Wu Wei Din is worth checking out. I’ll definitely be back to try more items on their menu!
We are an ardent Chinese food lover and we try to hop onto all different Chinese eateries to taste our favorites. Wu Wei Din wasn’t different. We had a wonderful experience dining here. The ambience was great, the prices were reasonable. They had a drink menu as well which we didn’t check as weren’t planning to drink. The food above all was delicious. The service was fantastic to add on to all the goods. Unfortunately I do not remember her name, but our hostess was great in her service. We ordered the following items and were absolutely satisfied with the service, quality, affordability and taste: 1. Jumbo Egg Roll - $3.50 2. Shrimp & Pork Steamed Dumplings - $10.95 3. Pork Xiao Long Bao - $10 4. Pork Wonton Noodles with Spicy Sauce - $10.95 5. Salt & Pepper Fish Fillets - $16.99 6. Diet Pepsi
I had an amazing experience at Wu Wei Din! The food is absolutely delicious—everything from the soup dumplings to the braised beef noodle soup was packed with flavor and clearly made with care. The scallion pancake was crispy and fresh, and the service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming, and I really appreciate the attention to detail in both the menu and the decor. Definitely one of the best Taiwanese/Chinese spots in the area. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic and satisfying dishes!
Absolutely the best authentic Taiwanese restaurant in TX! All the dishes we ordered were delicious! Xiao lun bao were juicy and tasty, the braised beef and tendon was very tender, broth was extremely flavorful. Sesame balls were a bomb! Staff were friendly and seatings was comfortable. Highly recommend this place and we will definitely come back!
Had a good experience with my teenage daughter. We ordered the cucumber salad, Kim Chi pork dumplings, spicy Xiao Long Bao, spicy noodles, and scallion pancakes at the end. The cucumber salad was our favorite and we wish had ordered two, delicious, tasty, refreshing and would've been great to have some after the spicy meal to cool down the mouth. I enjoyed the Kim Chi pork dumplings. They were good, better than regular dumplings IMO with a yummy vinegar dipping sauce. The spicy Xiao Long Bao was piping hot and so spicy. It was better than LA's Din Tai Fung IMO but the opposite for the spicy noodles. The noodles were a bit too al dente for us but their spicy sauce kept our mouths on fire. You wanted to put it down but then you also wanted more at the same time. The scallion pancakes were hot and crispy and flaky. And so good with the dumpling vinegar dipping sauce. The passion fruit martini was not worth it and tasted like medicine. It was undrinkable. I should've sent it back but didn't yet I wish the server would have taken notice of the full martini and offered something else. Overall, we had a good experience and delicious meal. We went at 6pm on a Friday night just before a wait line started. We spent about $60 before tip. Would recommend and would return.
The wonton dumpling soup i ordered was honestly great. If it wasn't for the service this would have been a 5 stars. I didn't like how I was rushed and I also felt pressured to order more even though I didn't need or want more food. No greeting at the beginning and similarly no goodbye at the end. Waitress was fine except the pressuring thing. It's not the best looking spot for the inside either and they get loud with cleaning up and I your way especially around closing time. But I didn't see them bugging the other customers as much. So that resulted in my tips as well. All in all if you come earlier and for the food, obviously- I think it's a great place. They like more people (obviously) than solo travelers. Except to be asked to sit by the bar.
Sausage Fried rice was salty, hard, over cooked and no flavors. Noodle was in great consistency but again, just tasted salty. Pork buns had soft skin, however lacks flavor. Shao long Bao’s skin was thin and plenty of juice as it should be, but it was so overcooked, saggy skin and flat. Overall, all dishes looks good, great imitation of the Famous Taiwanese restaurant Ding Tai Fung, however the taste is just not there.
The restaurant has delicious food preparations. The portions are good for the price. Overall garlic use was little excess, yet tolerable. Their dumplings in spicy sauce are unique. Hot and sour soup was excellent. The service depends on who is serving you and the day you visited. The cleanliness is bit questionable; but again it is a personal preference. It is a place which can be marked for good food without frills.
i think the food was alright. i got the orange chicken and it was nice and sweet and crispy, but it was no different than the one i had from the chinese place on coit road. it is definitely not panda express' orange chicken, but its not mind-blowingly good? we also got the three cup chicken and it was lacking flavor. i would not recommend that dish at all. it was presented nicely but the flavor was not there. i dont have a photo but we also got the taro milk tea at 100% sugar and it was very sweet, if you are an avid milk tea drinker i would say to get it from somewhere else as well, unless you want cheaper mt. my friend said that they would come back for the dumplings so im assuming those are good! the service was very good, and the food came out quickly for how busy the resteraunt was. the servers were all very kind. because of the food, though, i dont think i will be returning.
The scallion pancake are those that can be bought, pre-packed and reheated, no layers no fluffiness. The beef noodles has good portions but the taste is not as expected. The pork cutlet is really good though, soft and juicy. Had the spicy dumplings that I didn’t take pictures of that are pretty good. Overall was okay but definitely not the authentic taiwanese tastes that I was expecting. Service can be better though.
The food is absolutely horrible. What we ordered was the chicken Thai fried rice, salt pepper tofu, and string beans chicken. The most surprising thing is that the string bean chicken was the best thing we had, but at a cost of $3 extra to switch pork FOR chicken. But that’s not the only thing, the salt and pepper tofu looked like dehydrated SpongeBob that was crying oil. Also that “chicken” on top of the fried rice was 75% breading and 25% fat. Please do not go here to order these items. (Btw portions are very big)
