The coffee cake selection was very good! Chocolate, blueberry, and Plain crumb cake! The almond joy latte was superb and the cold brew with cold foam was amazing as well! The service was fast, efficient, and the staff were lovely. The building was beautiful and fully renovated. Our new favorite place in Speculator!

This is probably the cutest coffee shop within an hour drive any which way. Plenty of places to sit with different vibes. There is also a store with lots of home decor, candles, plants, and more. My family has found ourselves setting up shop to work during the morning while drinking coffee. If you’re anywhere within a 30 minute drive, certainly worth going for both the coffee and especially the very trendy atmosphere.

Excellent black coffee and iced caramel latte! Appreciated the customer service and the "homey" environment. Purchased their T-shirts for my friends as gifts on their way home to MN and they were a hit! Very soft and comfortable. Great quality.

We took a drive up to Speculator because we were bored at home and we always go there to shop at the Speculator general store and we were hungry and wanted to get something to eat. We happened to see perks of Speculator and went inside. Is not big but the food is absolutely fabulous. The people that work there are wonderful and we will definitely be back on another one of our day trips.

Solid coffee shop. I would return.

This is definitely an Adirondack gem! Excellent service by very friendly staff! Allowed me to work on the very cozy, beautiful porch. Coffee was some of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend.

Charming Adirondack gem! This shop is a delightful trio of treasures. From amazing specialty coffees to delectable baked goods, and a collection of trinkets and collectibles – a must-visit for a cozy and delightful experience.

Stopped here during a road trip from ny to Ohio. Great coffee AND they have a gluten free bun option for the breakfast sandwich!

We had an omelette with fresh mushrooms, onion, peppers and jalapeño, along with a huge pancake made with fresh blueberries. Food was excellent! I also had a very nice cortado. Cozy decor, and the window bar seating has a cube for charging your phone.

I recently made a few trips to The Perks of Speculator while dropping off and picking up my daughter at a nearby summer camp. The place came recommended by the locals and they ate right!!! Pastries here particularly the raspberry crumb cake) are amazing here and breakfast and lunch sandwiches are top notch! All served promptly by a friendly and welcoming staff! I loved this place both times I visited and only wish they had a location in DC! Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Our Chicken Salad sandwich was a wonderful surprise… yummy with bacon and cheese! My husband had the BLT which was delicious on fresh bread! They also offered breakfast all day, a wide variety of pastries and coffees! The staff were friendly and attentive! We’ll definitely be back!

First want to reply to Stephen… As someone who’s lived here forever and is thrilled to finally have this awesome coffee spot in town, I’ve gotta say… this review feels a little dramatic for a shop that’s only been open three days. 😅 The almond milk switch is $0.75 for a small — not sure how you managed to get charged $3 unless you ordered a latte, a smoothie, and asked them to bless it with moon dust. Also, calling the coffee “mid” in a brand new, locally-owned shop that’s literally just finding its rhythm? Come on. Be better. Small towns need folks to lift each other up, not nitpick prices they didn’t actually pay. Maybe try giving them a week before writing them off. The rest of us will keep enjoying the good vibes and great coffee. ✌️

I love that the owners brew coffee locally roasted in upstate New York. Do not miss this place and don’t forget to hit up Tracy’s just down the road across from Charlie Johns!

You really need to keep your hours on google updated. So disappointed to drive there today to find you were closed even tho, according to google, you were open.

The pastries look great, too! The bad: The Food… it took over 30 minutes for our food to be ready, we picked it up as soon as it was placed on the counter, but it was cold… dry cold pancakes, cold bagel sandwich- the eggs and sausage were hot, but everything else was room temperature. The cheese on the bagel sandwich didn’t even melt, since the other ingredients were cold. Perhaps they keep plates cold, so it instantly supercools food? Otherwise they need to work on their timing. Maybe we’ll try again next summer, but we won’t be back this year. Not very pleasant for ~$20/person.

Food was good, but service (to go) was very slow on a Sunday morning. Took 20 mins to get a basic breakfast sandwich.

Paid $3 just for subbing almond milk to my coffee, which was half the price of my coffee to start with. And the coffee was mid. 🤷‍♂️ I know small town coffee places, but I've had way better for way less in my own small town coffee places, which I think I'll stick to.

Wish The Perks had changed their status online. Drove 45 minutes to check them out and found out that they are closed until May. Oh well, found The Lemon Tree craft brewery and made the best of our trip to Speculator on a cold damp day.

A 50 minute wait for pancakes that were over cooked in unacceptable. However that is not as bad as the service and general demeanor of the woman Expediting the orders. The only nice thing I experienced there today was the cashier taking the orders. Are coffee was cold by the time our food was ready I will definitely not be back and recommend to everyone else not to go there

During a moderately busy time, it took 40 minutes to get 3 undercooked pancakes and one bagel toasted with cream cheese. Coffee was ok. You pick up food at the counter, you bus your table, you pay 15% tip. Want cream cheese? Add a dollar. Want syrup? Add a dollar, fifty. Want sprinkles on your frozen drink? That's extra, too, but you won't get them, which won't matter because the frozen drink was pretty tasteless anyway.
