Opinions de Club Arcada 1920s Speakeasy St. Charles
Club Arcada is a GEM! This 1920’s speakeasy restaurant is on the 3rd floor of a massive venue that offers over 4 areas with bars that are as unique as it gets. It’s a really cool place overall and you are taken right into the middle of what it would have been like to dine in the 1920s. When you get off the elevator you have to give a password to enter into the speakeasy - it’s fun and simple. Look for the password hidden in plane sight. The room is large with many small rooms and areas to sit, drink and socialize. The food was delicious and served with care. Service was excellent and friendly. This is not kid friendly fyi. Overall you will really enjoy this experience - but make sure you don’t dine too early - the live performances starting at 8:30 is worth the charge.
After discovering this spot while scrolling on Instagram, I booked a reservation instantly! I expected to enjoy myself, but the experience truly exceeded my expectations. From the stunning venue and impeccable service to the exceptional food and drinks, everything was impeccable—the owner even treated our group to a private tour. This place has many unique rooms that pull off that 1920’s feel, such as the dining area, the mini club room, and even a theater. I'll definitely be back!
This is a top notch place for sure. I have zero complaints. Service was excellent, my dinner (gnocchi with vodka sauce, topped with chicken) was delectable, and the whole atmosphere just fun.
Went last week with friends, the place was amazing! It felt like Chicago but in the burbs. I’m not sure if it was intentional but the staff was even dressed up in 20s themes and costumes as well. Charcuterie board was great, drinks great, lovely, truly beautiful place. The walls, art, vintage pieces everything. Live music, $15 cover.
A fun evening! Felt like we were in a time machine back to the 40's! Drinks were well made and all the food was great! We had a wonderful time and will return for another fun evening!
First time visiting, such a fun place! The whole theme of a speakeasy is really cool and you even have to give them the “password” in order to enter into the dining area. Service was great, our host and waitress were supper attentive and the food came out pretty fast. Boardwalk shrimp cocktail was so good, fresh large shrimp! It comes with 6. The mini slider trio was delicious, pulled pork, meatball and pot roast. Dessert - flourless chocolate cake with mousse also delicious. They have live entertainment they starts around 8/8:30 and that was super fun as well. Will definitely be back!
Best kept secret in the Chicagoland Area... A must go to experience...
I love going to places with Speakeasy vibes but this location blew them all out of the water! This space is massive. You walk in the bottom floor where there is a gentleman manning the elevators. In the elevator, you will find the secret password. Once upstairs, you immediately are embraced with old Hollywood vibes (the downstairs was like this too) they ask for the password and a door opens. Inside you have various different vintage themed rooms to sit and have a cocktail in. There is a Charlie Chaplin themed roomed with one of his original hats. The cocktails were delicious and bartender friendly. Not a single complaint or thing I would change. I look forward to being a regular here.
This is an excellent place to grab dinner before a show. The food and service excellent. The restaurant is beautiful with plenty of historic and music related decor that gives an impression of an old school "Speak Easy" right down to the tricky bookshelf that moves aside and allows entry into the dining/bar area. Highly recommend!!
Such a wonderful experience! Speakeasy was unique. Food was fantastic. My husband had the white fish. I had Charlie Chaplin chicken. It was phenomenal. Service was impeccable. Highly recommend!
What a unique restaurant there were many. places such as rooms with old time cameras and motion picture machine. The Servers are dressed in roaring twenties types costumes. The speakeasy bar had a is a silent movie playing at all times. The food was excellent the entertainment was really good also.
Amazing atmosphere in the Arcada theaters top floor. The shrimp cocktail was great and the Charlie Chaplin Chicken was delicious. Louis Armstrong cover band that was so good you thought you were back in time. Dinner and a show was perfect. I wish I knew about this place sooner. Tons of shows all year round.
Had a great meal and great cocktails here prior to a late Sunday afternoon concert at the Arcada Theater. Loved the Little Italy Manhattan and the Ravioli with meat sauce, Sausage and Peppers, meatballs combo platter was absolutely superb!!!!
Vodka gnocchi was superb. The band was 10000 awesome and played all the Elton John and Billy Joel hits. The ambiance is super cool and the decor is beautiful.
Iconic location a must visit to walk through time.
Diva and the Vagabonds were a great band. The white fish was excellent. The flatbread not so much and over priced
Great experience! Food & cocktails were delicious! Service was premium
Such a fun place! Great show for Sunday Sinatra night. Attentive and helpful service, lots of good things on the menu and a fabulous 20s atmosphere.
We were there for the cornerstone of rock show. Didn't eat upstairs this time but we have in the past. The food was great then. Tonight was all about the music 🎵.
Great service. Mentioned it was a birthday trip for concert in my reservation request and they gave me a free desert! And got to play plinko and won two free tickets to any upcoming concert. Fun night watching Zebra....the best 80 rock band no one knows about!🤔🤣
Such an amazing place!!! The decor was fantastic! The food was delicious. We were there for a Sinatra Sunday performance with Nick @Knight and they were outstanding!!
We went for Sinatra Sunday. What a blast! Our 5 and 6 year old had smiles on their faces and everyone fawned over our 9-month-old baby. Food was yummy. Lots of older folk dressed to the nines getting their dance on with giant grins! Wasn't so loud you couldn't talk. Have a negroni!
Just a great smaller, more intimate venue. We've seen multiple bands here and it's always a good time. Not a bad seat in the theater.
This place is absolutely delightful. Great period setting, with servers dressed in character and extremely friendly and engaging! A great place to experience before or after a concert downstairs.
An excellent hidden gem with great food and drinks. Great pricing with an excellent music venue attached. Definitely recommend swinging by this establishment for a night out on the town.
We were here from out of town and decided to try it out and I am so glad we did! This whole place is a vibe and the entertainment was so much fun. The staff exceptional. We felt like we were welcomed like family. The food was also delicious! We will be back if we are ever in town again.
Eric, our waiter, was extraordinary! He replaced our wine after we alerted him to the stale taste of it. We ordered the ravioli and meatballs and the chicken parm with rigatoni. Both were generous servings and tasty. The lemon marscapone cake was a delicious end to a great meal! We’ll be back.
We came for dinner and the show. The atmosphere is amazing. This place is a lot of fun. The service was attentive, friendly and really....it was perfect. The dinner menu is limited, not the biggest selection but it's good enough. Biggest thing was its a jazz/blues themed speakeasy nightclub. The Saturday we were there they had a classic rock band. They were good, but for more of the bar scene. In this venue I thought they were out of place. Actually, considering the extent they go through to really get into the prohibition Era theme.....it would make sense to have a jazz/blues band playing. That was my biggest and only concern. Otherwise.....it was great night!!!
Have gone there for a few concerts. Amazing every time.
Loved it here. Our waiter was great! He went above and beyond to service us. It was for my husbands birthday and they got the restaurant to sing to him. I am very glad we went!
Our waiter, Buzz, was extremely kind and helpful. His service was impeccable and his food recommendation was spot on. The food was extraordinary! Thank you for a wonderful night!
Amazing atmosphere. Very unique. Thoroughly entertaining. Great staff. Great drink selection. Great food selection. A well planned site.
Such a fun place! We went for their “Rat Pack Sunday” to celebrate a birthday and it was lovely. The staff were friendly and all wore 1920’s clothes, and we loved the true speakeasy feel, with a secret door to get in - password and all. Food and cocktails were great, and the rooms were cool to explore. The best part, though, was the entertainment! There was a fun host and a Frank Sinatra impersonator who really put on a great show - the whole family was up dancing after we ate, and my mother-in-law had a smile on her face the whole time. Will definitely go back, super cool experience.
I have shared many special celebrations with my mother at Club Arcada. We were never let down. The service is great, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is amazing. I will continue to visit Club Arcada in the future for more special times. Thank you for a great experience!
We went there for the first time last week for dinner and a concert. It is very far away for us but we thought we would try it out and very glad that we did. We weren’t up for a full meal at their restaurant upstairs so we went to the “ Rock and Ravioli “ bar and restaurant. We weren’t greeted by a woman who was either the manager or hostess and she went out of her way to make us feel welcome even bringing us a complimentary salad!! Unfortunately I didn’t get her name for which I’m sorry. Food was fine and the concert was amazing. The hour drive home after the show not so amazing. Great night out!!
My husband and I had one of the BEST experiences here tonight! As soon as you walk in the beauty and mystery pulls you in. Beautiful murals and employees dressed super cool and fantastic service! Food was delicious! 12 stars 🌟
Had a great experience. Hostess were super welcoming. My hostess was Bella and Riley they were so nice i asked for names for a shoutout! Food and atmosphere was also wonderful, would recommend
Very very very cool place. Love how they have decorated it Love the fact that it's very themed oriented about the era when Speakeasies were the thing back in the roaring twenties. You need a password to enter and the door is a bookcase so when closed you don't know where the restaurant is. Devon our server was excellent, The food was excellent and I found the price reasonable in today's economy. 5 years ago it would have been too expensive but with how the world is today it is what it is. First time being there will definitely go back It is worth the drive of the St Charles if you haven't been
The Jersey Girls were fantastic and our server JoAnna was incredible!! We will definitely be back!!!
We drove in over 6 hours for a concert here that we had been looking forward to for quite a while. We followed the theme, and dressed to impress as we were requested to do so. We purchased the minimum required, and would have purchased more if our waitress would have had time to properly attend to us. The concert was for a world reknown vocalist, and everything was set up for success. We did everything in our power to have a great evening... Sadly, as soon as the performer took stage, an absolutely rude, loud, man started yelling louder than her singing. He was not dressed to impress as we were instructed to be. It became very offensive and awkward. It was insulting to the performer. Ultimately, another guest got up from his own table to confront the rude man as security did nothing. The insulting behavior continued not two minutes after that guest had intervened. The staff security continued to do nothing other than stand against the wall. The rude man was so loud and bothering all of the other guests that the performer got off the stage to relieve some of the tension by sort of dancing with him. This was the equivalent of adding gasoline to a fire, and this very drunk loud man then very much was encouraged in his behavior to the effect that he got some main character energy....and the once in a lifetime concert that we had planned for and anticipated was all but ruined. The whole vibe was sour. Other guests were looking down and shaking their heads. Finally, a lady left her table and privately spoke to security to make it clear that that mans loud yelling over the performer, and inapropriate flailing all over the room and bothering every $$ paying guest in that room needed to be removed. He was finally removed, and the tension was cleared. 75% of the concert had been ruined to that point...but the performer did her best to save the last 25%. Security/ staff failed to do their due dilligence to ensure the safety of everyone in that room, not to mention the ruined experience of the concert and whole vibe of what we drove 6+ hours and looked forward to have happen. This is a very beautiful establishment with such amazing potential. I can only hope that in the future, the staff is more attentive and works to ensure the safety and potential enjoyment of its guests.
Great food, but the drinks could have be stronger. It's a fun atmosphere for dancing and live music. Our server was on the slow side, but they were very busy. The one thing that took away from giving 5 stars was when we got the check, it had a handwritten note saying, "credit card fee 0.03% sorry." But that is completely untrue. It was actually almost a 2.8% credit card fee and they don't tell you until you get your bill. This information should be on the menu because the average person does not carry hundreds of dollars on them in cash.
What a cute place. The billy joel/Elton John performance was awesome!!The food was pricey, but only $10 for the show made it well worth it. The lemon chicken $28 was really good. The two hotess ladies were REALLY GREAT. The waitress was nice as well. Why this place was not packed is the mystery.
The most adorable out of the way place with amazing drinks. Beautiful decor, you won't be disappointed.
I think they could definitely use a revamp of their dinner menu. Was not impressed with the selection. However- the Flatbreads were pretty good. Cocktails are good but highly overpriced.
We had dinner at Club Arcada before seeing a concert downstairs. The food was ok for a reasonable price, especially in light of the impressive atmosphere. Our server was doing her best (hence 4 stars instead of 3 which is probably more accurate) but the place was SO understaffed. The few servers were running around like “chickens with their head cut off” but not able to keep up with the number of guests to serve anyone well and in a timely manner. If the place was better staffed and offered faster/more attentive service, we’d love to go back. Poor business practice, not the server’s fault.
I didn't eat, the room itself is gorgeous.. honestly, it looks like it would be great for a small 50 people gathering. Definitely has the 20's vibe. We were there for a show.
The only thing exciting about this place was the atmosphere. Our waiter was very attentive. The food was overpriced and not very tasty. For fuor entrees, and a Caesar salad. And if you alcoholic beverages it was like $260. I got some kind of raviolis that tasted like pot pie. I could have gotten a TV dinner that tasted better. They shove six of us in a booth that look like it was meant for four peopleI would not recommend this place for food. I cannot speak on the entertainment because I did not stay for that.
My husband and I tried purchasing tickets to a show here and were charged twice with no confirmation of tickets purchased. I called Club Arcada for help and explained the situation and was looking for how to resolve the matter. I spoke with Mary and she talked over me the entire conversation to the point I had to ask her if I could please talk and finish one of my sentences, and she also told me I must have purchased from the incorrect website when I told her I was looking at the exact websites she was talking about. Mary came off rude and belittling our entire conversation despite me trying to just explain what happened kindly and go about a resolution whether it involved the restaurant or not. I appreciate Mary checking for my tickets and somewhat trying to help, however the way she spoke to me was enough for me to completely change our date night spot. As someone who worked in the service industry for 10+ years, the way you’re welcomed, spoken to, and treated goes a long way, so I wouldn’t recommend this spot based on that conversation alone.
A really amazing place, but the volume of the entertainment will make your ears bleed. Don't expect to be able to hold conversations or hear your servers, its so loud it’s downright painful. And I’m talking about the restaurant, not the concert venue. I asked if they could lower the volume and was told that every week theres always one person who complains but they cant lower it. What I hear in that is that every week at least one person is brave enough to say something, which means its probably uncomfortable for most people. I’d love to go back, but at that volume you can’t really enjoy the experience.
We have just had the most bizarre night here. We had booked a table for 4 - having been previously for a fun night out. We arrived on time - the hostess said she was going to check if our table was ready and then never came back! After 15 minutes we asked an alternative staff member what was happening and she said we could go and wait at the bar- but that was full so didn’t happen After 20 mins we found the original hostess who took us back - there were several open tables. One of our group ordered the charcuterie board. It came out a while before everyone else’s food and we all invited her to go ahead and start eating - but about 10 minutes in a server came over and said he had given it to her instead of another table who ordered first so could he have it back?? Whaaat?? Was he going to give the half eaten one to the correct table? Kind of so weird and bad it was funny. The remainder of the meal was fine - our primary server was better but over all it was just a very strange experience. I think we had also expected something different from the singer too. A shame since we had brought an overseas visitor with us for a special night out. I guess it was definitely one to remember! We felt like the staff could benefit from a little extra customer care and communication training.
