I ordered an American Cheese Omelet with Home Fries, Rye Toast, a side order of Bacon, and a Decaf Coffee and it was all delicious. It was Breakfast and Lunch for me. The Staff were friendly and nice and the Service was fine and so was the Atmosphere!!!

This diner has gotten much better. It used to be lousy, and now is fabulous. If you’ve been here before, and turned off, you must go back. You will be pleasantly surprised by the great staff and very good food

This place was great for group of 14 late at night. I just had the sugar free cheesecake and if you like whipped cream like i do you'll like it too. Our waitress was great and she warned me about the dish when I ordered since some people don't like it.

The Dove is a wonderful place to eat either a big meal or burgers and fries. The owners are there all the time they are very friendly. The wait staff is amazing. The food is excellent whether a salad, a wrap or a full course meal. I am there at least 2x a week.

If your looking for a nice breakfast as was the case for us we opted for the Dove diner and as expected the food was great as was the atmosphere and server, This is your basic diner which offers break fast,lunch and dinner and as is with most similar diners the menu is as basic as it gets with your normal dinner entres along with specials and depending on your food choices italian,greek and american cuisines. The prices are comparable to most all diners and the food portions are perfectly set for most humans....

Nick, our server was AMAZING!! The 'must haves' are the rigatoni and Gyro. I love this diner and anyone who needs a place to go while in Staten Island, this is right over the bridge and you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. Leave room for the BAKLAVA cheesecake. They have many!

This diner has been a staple on Richmond Ave for many years. The service that I encountered is excellent. Either by phone or in person, there is always professionalism. The food is hot and delicious. I have always had service with a smile. If they had a bad day, it will not show. You feel a part of the family. I wish them many more years of wonderful service. I’m proud to be a loyal patron.

Went for a nice brunch this afternoon with some friends at the Golden Dove. They got a new cake chef and they have an amazingly huge selection of desserts. All the food came out fresh and hot. Coming from someone who worked at the Dove for years, they changed it up and it was definitely worth it. Godiva Cheesecake and a cappuccino, I was in a comfort zone i haven't felt in ages. Was here this weekend with my daughter and friend. It's not as crowded as it used to be, and tbh pretty sad bc it's a neighborhood staple. Waitress was nice and dealt with 2 overtired pre teens . The girls got kids meals which were large sized, I got. A grilled cheese and fries.

Great portions of food for the price. It's not really a cheap place but the servings go with the price. Anna the food was very good as well. The waiter was polite and continually checked up on us to make sure we were good. Not sure how the daytime is since I went late night.

This place is great! The server (Jason) was superb, made perfect recommendations. The food was absolutely wonderful, the amount of quality cakes they offer for dessert is something you have to see and try! I will definitely be going back to the Dove diner!

Food is great, menu selection is insane! There’s so much variety! I always come every weekend and the prices are great for the amount of food I receive. Some might complain about decor but decor isn’t what fills my stomach anyways.

We frequent here often & always are pleased with the attentive service & consistent good quality of the food. Portions are large & always enough for a take home bag. Tonight I got unexpected company. With Thanksgiving in mind, we ordered 3 takeout turkey entrees for 5 big eaters. The turkey was moist & delicious, veggies were fresh & sautéed in garlic & oil, sweet potatoes were large and lentil soup was nicely seasoned. Only the stuffing was unremarkable. There was enough food left over for another entire meal for us. This has been our go-to place for years. Now I see their takeout & delivery service is great too!

I cant believe it took me 4 yrs to stop in here! I moved to the island a few years ago and have heard great things about Dove diner so i finally decided to treat myself to a nice brunch on a random weekday. They have a huge parking lot. Came in and was immediately greeted by Anthony. I looked through the menu and well i kind of knew what i wanted before i even walked in here! For some reason i was cravin for strawberry pancakes and no matter how tempting everything else looked i didnt wanna steer away from my goal lol. I took in the atmosphere while waitin for my food and can tell the diner is very clean. The furniture is in great condition and you can tell they take care of their restaurant! Before i left with my order, Anthony gave me a free slice of ferrero rocher cheesecake to take home to try! That was such a generous gesture and made my day! Came home and devoured my meal! Havent stopped tellin my partner we gotta come in for a meal some time!

Food is amazing and with decent portions. I would say this is a 10/10 restaurant in terms of food quality and quantity and the prices are spot on. Friendly staff and very helpful. Free parking at the rear of the diner makes things easy as well. I have tried the big boy breakfast in the morning and the cheese burger meal at night and being a 230lb male, I can take a lot of food. At both times I was more than full by the time I finished my plate. Highly recommended.

Diners equal burgers to me. Tonight the burger I had was pretty spot on. This Rio Grande Deluxe menu item came with a side of fries and onion rings (not in photo.) But the burger? Topped with cheddar, BBQ Sauce and sautéed onions. The burger cooked medium. Burger fresh and warm. Out of this world!! Great service between my server, Laura, and to everyone else making sure to have a great dining experience.

First time here and yes we will be back when we come back in July. We came for dinner late at night. There were four of us and we all ordered different items. One ordered the Vodka Penne she said it was the best she ever ate. We all sampled her dinner choice. She was right it was superb. It had large fresh mushrooms and the sauce was creamy. Our youngster had a Mediterranean Pannis. It was the first time she ate the whole thing. She ate the Red Velvet cake for dessert. I Had the Corned Beef and Cabbage. There was enough for two people. I had tapioca pudding for dessert. Mrs. D had a large bowl of Chicken Noodle soup and a cup of Coffee. If your ever traveling and want a great meal, come here you will not be disappointed. We will be back.

Its your average diner with a menu you wouldn't get through in a year if you tried. Their burgers are excellent and portions are plentiful. Atmosphere is a little stale but that's all that's stale.

I drove across Staten Island to try out a bacon deluxe burger which had bacon,lettuce,tomato on it and guess what I got a plain burger with nothing on it I called to see what was going on and apparently the guy that was taking the order over the phone “didn’t hear” even though we told him three times BACON DELUXE BURGER! And they still charged us extra. When we came back the next day they gave us all our money back and the breakfast they gave us was awesome. The best thing about this dinner is how they fixed and made up there mistake and the food was great!

The Dove Diner is one establishment that been around forever. The vibe here is an older crowd. It depends what time you go. I love eating here. The staff doesn't harass you every minute asking if there's something you need. It's clean and the bathrooms are decent. The music box at the tables doesn't work which was a bummer. The parking lot is large enough that opens spots all around the building. My fiance and I will continue to eat at the Dove Diner. If you have never been here come on down. ( No I know this isn't the price is right) lmbo. But this place is affordable and leaves customers satisfied. If you can't finish your food ask them if you can take it home. And when it's time to pray you have to walk to the register in the front where you came in.

This place has friendly servers. The lunches looked amazing, but my husband and I ordered the breakfast. It wasn't the best we had, nor was it too bad. The food did take a while to come, but our server kept coming to tell us everything was being prepared for us.. Overall it wasn't a bad place to eat at.

The locals all know the history of this Diner, but I guess they have made a come back. This is my 3rd favorite Diner on the Island. Their burgers are delicious and they hit it on the nose with the rest of their dishes. Their food tastes great no matter what time of night or day. Definitely worth visiting.

Used to go here decades ago and I'm glad I came back. Looks like its under different ownership and all for the better. The family and I are weekly regulars and I'm the type to try new things every week and so far I haven't been dissapointed. Come on back, order the steak fries burn them twice, you won't regret it. (P.S. Z-ONE can suck it with their starchy fries and ridiculous prices.)

We go here often. The food has always been good. It's always clean. We've had dine in, pick up, and delivery. For delivery, they have always been really fast. Food arrived very hot. Take out has always been correct. They've also been delivering to my job for years and no one has ever made a complaint about the food. It's a diner so you're not getting a 7 course meal but I've always had good food here. Their cole-slaw is the best!

I've been coming here for years. It can be hit or miss, but the staff is usually friendly and helpful. The bowls of soup are now gigantic, and the rest of our food was great on my last trip there. I think the men's bathroom cleanliness needs to be addressed though. I hate taking my son into a bathroom that looks like a bomb hit it. They have to have people check it and maintain it more frequently.

My husband and I ate here for a late brunch and the food was good. My husband got the Louisiana Panini and I got the Western Omelette meal. My husband really liked his panini. I enjoyed my omelette, but it was a touch overcooked. Our waitress was very nice and delivered great customer service. I would definitely recommend getting food here. Wait staff is welcoming and helpful, and they serve up quality classic diner fare.

It's the standard diner but like most diners, breakfast is the specialty and best bet to order. I've been getting the Big Boy Breakfast recently and loving it (just an FYI does not come with pancakes). I would get it every morning if I could but it's too heavy. For lighter options I would do two eggs with choice of meat or corned beef hash.

Food is great for it's price. The proption is huge. The waffle fries are nice and crispy. Definitely will come back

A true Staten Island classic — Dove Diner (or the Golden Dove, as long-time locals know it) stands out in a sea of forgettable diners. My recent visit was a refreshing return to what a diner should be. The food was the highlight: perfectly prepared, beautifully plated omelets, seasoned steak fries that go beyond the usual salt dump, and smoked salmon thick-cut just right. Fresh bagels, clean utensils, and polished granite tabletops elevated the experience further. The space is large, well-lit, with spotless windows and ample parking — a rare find. Situated on a corner with access to public transit and room for private vehicles, it’s both central and convenient. A few hardly noticeable drawbacks: the floor could use a bit more attention during the day, some ceiling panels need replacing, and those old plastic cups have outlived their usefulness. I got a greasy menu, and outdated plate designs (bright red and yellow accents) detract slightly from the otherwise well-presented dishes. Still, this place persists for a reason. It’s not just nostalgia — it’s quality, care, and consistency. I’ll be back. SI is a treasure trove of good diners. Dove stands out as a clear leader.

I use to like coming here for a casual dinner. I have nothing against this place, but as of my last 3 visits the quality has been on a steady slowly slope downhill. I'm not saying it's bad, but I definitely remember times when the food was better and orders weren't constantly confused when the place is not even packed.

Typical diner food great if your drunk and want a cheeseburger or disco fries. Normal breakfast. Nothing fancy diners in Staten island are a big dissapointment really nothing fresh stick with diners in jersey. Like I said if your looking for a quick bite this place is not bad very clean in the dining eoom

Stopped in for lunch. Something simple, soup and a sandwich. There were food scraps on the booth bench that I had to wipe off before sitting down. Ordered the chicken gyro wrap with french fries. The fries were not hot and the lettuce in the wrap was wilted. Notified the waitress, she seemed perplexed and she removed the partially eaten meal from the table. No apology was given nor an offer to deduct it or discount the bill. I cannot recommend Dove Diner and will not be returning.

When you come in a Sunday morning and it's not crowded, that should tell you something. Staff was ok, but after we ate, waiting for the bill forever. The food was pretty good everything came out hot. They think of as free muffins as we waited for a food and they were pretty stale. Prices are reasonable.

There was a hair in my food, and the food was covered in bits and pieces of other people's orders. The manager was extremely nice and made sure I was satisfied when this was brought to his attention. Nevertheless, precautions should have been taken to avoid this in the first place. I will give this diner another chance in the future, but if I experience something similar again I will take my business elsewhere.

For a Diner, it is incredibly expensive... We went for breakfast, 2 adults, 3kids. I was the only one who didn't order a breakfast item (I got a salad instead). Check was $160+. So with the tip and all it came up to be a $200 check. I think that's a little too much for a simple breakfast at a very simple place. Food wasn't bad, but wasn't all that either.

Sub-par diner. Menu is overly large so you shouldn't have a problem finding something. I got the philly cheese steak which was ok. Bread was good, meat was sub-par. Overall it's not bad but it's not great. The saving grace of this diner is the cheese cake. I highly recommend the cheese cake

Typical diner food. Nothing really great. However, service was very good. The management was accommodating to moving our table near a TV and changing the channel to what we wanted to watch. It was a late weeknight so it wasn't busy.

The staff is wonderful. I am grateful for the service and for their welcoming attitude But unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. My appeal to the owner: please, your establishment urgently needs renovation. Keep the retro concept if you wish, it has charm, but at least repair the ceiling, which is literally falling apart. Please also stop cutting corners on quality. I came specifically for waffles with syrup and was immediately disappointed when I saw the plastic single serve containers of high fructose corn syrup on my plate. This is not acceptable. When you start saving on such basic things, it shows a lack of respect for your guests. Objectively speaking, this place is in worse condition than many similar venues in the area. It’s hard to recommend it in its current state. And that’s a real shame, because it has great potential. But something needs to change and soon or this place risks fading away entirely.

Me least favorite diner on Staten Island. The produce never seems fresh and they have no clue how to cook eggs. As a last resort it is okay but there are definitely more worth while choices close by. Be selective if you have to go there.

What happened to this place? They used to give generous portions of food and fresh too. I ordered food from them today and I noticed that the salad that came with the entree was small and stale. Unfortunately, I had to throw it out. The nice delivery guy also brought me a piece of blueberry pie which also tasted stale. He always does that so that I give him a nice tip.

Food was great but night managers need to take better care of your waitresses. We heard the cook yelling at one of them, she came out and stood up for her self and complained to who ever was the manager tonight and he just treated it like it was nothing waving her off. Old guy with glasses, TREAT YOUR WAITRESSES BETTER. we also heard another one complain about how late the food was. Take care of your waitresses and fire the cooks or whoever was yelling and cursing at them in the kitchen.

We went today to have dinner and let me just say this will be our last time going. We were seated in a section that smelled like pee. We asked to be moved. We were moved to a back booth so much better. Our server quickly asked what we wanted to drink. We were brought out pasta salads that were mush and loaded with oil. Pickles and cole slaw weren't too bad. I ordered a California burger which is (burger, raw onion, tomatoes and lettuce) I asked for a side of bacon. My husband got a omelet with home fries and my son mashed potatoes and gravy with chicken tenders. Let's just say I stopped eating after 4 bites of my burger because it was just flavorless and just gross. After another 10 min of feeding my son, my stomach instantly started gurgling. We had to leave. Also as we were there between the waitress and busboy approaching our table constantly to see if we were done or needed something else it was a bit much. Within 10 min we were approached 5 times between both. My husband asked if they needed the table or something. The waitress apologized when she brought the bill and said her boss was on her. We tipped her well because she was genuine and sweet. Other than that the food was horrible and we will never eat there again.

I would give it zero if possible. We have been there 2, as we tried to give it a second chance, but nope! The first time it took them 40+ mins to bring us our food, we check on the food twice and were told it was coming until we were leaving and canceling the order that someone else went and actually brought our food. Apparently the sauce for my Eggs Benedict was burnt so the cook make it from scratch again, however if is going to take that long you should let the consumer know and decide to wait that long or change the item. I would have change as I was starving. Anyways bad food, overpriced, bad service.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!! The place is not clean and the food is bad, but the worst part is the prices. It is more expensive than going to an actual decent restaurant. I could go to a nice Italian restaurant and get the same dish for a cheaper price and of course it would be monumentally better. I got a gyro that had barely any meat in it, mostly full of lettuce and tomato. The chicken in the chicken wrap was not crispy. The fries were not enjoyable. I already feel sick. I have no idea how this place stays in business. It would behoove the community to shut it down and stop tarnishing the bourough of Staten Island.

Went for lunch and am very disappointed. We have been going there with family for years. After a few sips of the soup i found an ant on my plate, told the waitress right away and got a new soup. No problem. Halfway through eating my sandwich i find 2 ants crawling all over my cup of soda and 1 dead ant in my drink in the ice. Explain to the waitress again and she gets me a bottle of soda in case it’s coming from the fountain soda machine. The manager was made aware but never came over to our booth to apologize or speak to us directly. He just told our waitress to give us a free dessert to take home. I do not feel that this was appropriate. After already being disgusted with the food, you think I’d want more? I didn’t want to give the waitress a hard time because it was not her fault at all and did not want to take it out on her. Shame on that manager for not taking appropriate action and correcting the situation. Me nor my family will be going again.

Went there about a week ago and didn’t have such a great experience. The waiters and waitresses aren’t friendly at all. They were actually rude. About 2 years back there were some great waitresses. One waitress Gal was always friendly and checked on our table often, was very sweet to my kids and husband and i noticed she tended to about 6 other tables with such a breeze and with a welcoming smile on her face. We even recommended our friends and family request her when going to the Dove. However, now the waitresses just want you out of there. A few that i didn’t even get their name because they were in such a rush to rush us out. I couldn’t even tell you the name of our waitress. Either a short girl who was more occupied by her phone or the girl who spent the night fighting with a who seemed to be her boyfriend.You need to hire some new waitresses with some experience with people. My friends and family have stopped going there as well because of the same reason.

Not the same anymore. Says 24/7 that’s a lie. Food for some reason takes too long to make and always comes out cold. Today was my last day back. Haven’t been here in a while took a hiatus from the last time I was here to see if the improvement has happened sadly it hasn’t. Please discuss with the chef to notify the the waitresses in an orderly so the food hits the tables smoking hot where I can see the smoke coming off of my food.
