The Staten Island version of the Seinfeld coffee shop - an underrated super chill, casual neighborhood diner. Came in the morning when it was full of regulars, chatting it up with the waitresses. Super friendly, attentive, and accommodating service. Kitchen will gladly accommodate cooking preferences and dietary restrictions. Eggs cooked perfectly 🤌🏽

One of the last few 24 hour diners on Staten Island. This particular Saturday night there was a high turnout of customers. My friend and I ordered a late night breakfast. Strawberries and cream waffles. Fresh and tasty. Good cappuccino. My friend ordered a breakfast quesadilla. Very friendly, chatty waiter. He was very enthusiastic. A solid local staple! Update: Nov 11, 2023: My friend and I got a booth. Once again on another Saturday night about 8pm. Very friendly, attentive service. When we got there it wasn't too busy but after an hour or two it became bustling with big parties of tables and whatnot. Almost a packed house. Expect Manhattan prices but very good sized portions. Almost always leftovers. The dessert case is always fun to check out so you can pick out whatever is the most visually appetizing. Love the chocolate covered strawberries! French onion soup has way too much cheese on top, so I don't think I'd order it again. Zucchini sticks are ok too. One of the most reliable diners on the island.

6 friends and I came here at like 4am to get some breakfast and it was amazing. Our server Kevin was phenomenal! He gave us great service and was fast and friendly. Salmon Caesar salad was fresh and a generous portion. Blueberries in the pancakes were also fresh, not frozen. Wouldn't recommend the burger. Atmosphere was clean and beautiful, staff was very attentive.

Thankful for this place for us to hang out and eat around 10:30 pm. Food is not bad we’ll definitely be back again. So much variety selections of food.

Visiting from out of town, so my first time here. What drew my attention was the smell driving by. Tried the pizza burger and it was pretty good. I really enjoyed the potatoes with cheese and bacon. The service was good. Plenty of parking in the back. Really regret not trying the dessert.

Went here for lunch after the rush and the food was good! I had the Italian chicken panini and my friend got a Greek salad. All staff were masked but the we were packed pretty close with other diners. Note, some of the booths are elevated but there are actual tables as well. That being said although the front door isn't wheelchair friendly, there is a side entrance with a ramp. Also went for dinner another day and had a chicken cheddar wrap, the lamb shank and the beef brisket. They have dinner specials from Monday to Thursday.

This is my go to diner. I love this place but today was a miss. Poached eggs were hard. The waiter never came to check on me but he checked on all the table around me. I always hate when I get this waiter but I like sitting in booths. I guess thats the price I pay for a booth.

Overall a pleasant experience at Mike's Unicorn Diner. The waitress was very kind and nice, however, they weren't wearing a mask but it was 3 am so it's alright. They also did not check for our vaccination status. Most of the food was delicious, by the end, we were stuffed. The hot chocolate was decent, but I was displeased that a small mug of it was around $3-$4. The curly fries and fried pickles were the highlight of the meal. The bacon wasn't too crispy, and the omelette was alright. I asked for a spinach mushroom and tomato omelet, but they unfortunately left out the tomato. The oreo cheesecake was delicious though. The coke float was also pretty good.

They have a nice spot, but the food leaves much to be desired. The hamburgers were decent, but don't order a chili burger. The chili is just awful. It tasted like it came from a can and then was left sitting out too long. Gross. The spaghetti sauce is very bland and the meatballs are equally unexciting. The beef brisket looks like they used steak umms soaked in a sauce I wouldn't serve my dog. The atmosphere is decent, and the service is friendly. But they really need better food. Ordering a hamburger or a pastrami sandwich at least is a safe bet.

i work very close to this place so i go very frequently. usually ill get a drink since i’m just getting off work when i go. same drink, same way every time. house tequila double shot mix with cranberry/pineapple. every single time it is $12-13 with tax. tonight, my drink was $33. instead of taking care of a frequent, respectful, and good tipping customer, the owner just told me that the servers have been putting it in wrong all this time. as a bartender who also goes out frequently, $33 for a double shot mix is insane! also, if you look at the photo attached, you can see i was charged for two drinks, not a double (which as a bartender, i know that alone makes a significant difference in price no matter what place it is) and was charged for top shelf when i always get house. owner told me “all the liquor we have is considered house” el toro is a $18 bottle at the store. absolutely ridiculous. i normally don’t complain or try to cause conflict, but this was just insanely uncalled for. $22 more than what i normally pay for the same drink i always get here? crazy. naturally i paid the normal $12 and left. respectfully, train your servers properly and make sure they know the correct way to put these things in, over a year of going here consistently and never have been charged this way. i really do love the food and environment. (and the convenience since i work very close) so i’m definitely upset by this, not sure if i will be back. also, i rated 2stars for service as the only overnight server i’ve had that is actually attentive to their customers is Jamie. always a sweetheart when i have her. all that said, please take this into consideration if you go here for a drink.

Very disappointing experience at Mike’s Unicorn Diner. We ordered burgers and the bread tasted old/stale, and overall the burger flavor was awful. We mentioned the issue, but we were still asked to pay in full. I understand policies vary, but I expected the staff to handle the situation differently when the food was clearly not fresh. I won’t be returning.

Don't really know what happened to this place. Used to be one of my favorite places to come to. Most of the staff has changed at night for the worse. Yesterday I went there with my wife and one of the weight staff was sleeping in a booth.While the other weightstaff were horse playing and couldn't even get my waiter's attention to put in an order for at least ten minutes. Most of the food was burnt, and that's not an exaggeration.It was legitimately burnt. Quality of the meat went way down.Thank godThe prices didn't go up cuz if they would have.I would have just walked out and not ordered anything. I understand business may be rough, but at least make it up with waitstaff.Who pays attention to the customers and is not caught sleeping in a booth right next to us. I will not come back here again.It's unfortunate because I have many good memories of this place.But that's it, that's the past, and it will no longer be my future.
