We ate here for the first time tonight and the food was excellent!!!! We had the most delicious shrimp and lobster egg rolls for an appetizer, my husband had the Chilean sea bass and I had linguini frutta di marre. It was piled with seafood and so delicious!!! The atmosphere is so pretty and the new room is so cozy and spacious. Every staff member was so attentive to us and friendly. We had a wonderful anniversary dinner and we can’t wait to come back in the future. Brian and Dean are the owners and they are great guys!
Absolutely phenomenal!! Went here with my wife and my in laws and it was amazing! For starters, the resturant has a great cozy vibe and the staff is so friendly and welcoming! They give you bread with butter and eggplant caponata which I am a huge fan of! For appetizers, we got the special fried sweet and sour calamari, minestrone soup, and baked clams. All 3 of which I’d highly recommend! The clams had so much flavor and were in a delicious sauce. The calamari was perfectly crispy and sauced excellently! For entrees we got the pollo scarpariello, lamb chops, risotto, and veal chop. I personally got the pollo and loved it! The chicken was off the bone which made it so easy to eat and the sauce it was in was perfect! Was light enough so you didn’t feel bogged down but was slammed full of flavor. The rest of my family all loved their meals and we would all happily get what we had again. For dessert we got a spread of lava cake, cheese cake, carrot cake, panna cotta, and gelato. I thought I was full but I couldn’t stop myself from devouring the lava cake and carrot cake specially. The gelato was also fantastic! Overall we had such an amazing dining experience! The resturant is family owned and it gives off the family oriented vibe! I cannot wait to go back!
Sapori never disappoints. I had the branzino and my husband ordered the filet mignon — both were absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. The service truly went above and beyond, making us feel so welcomed and taken care of. It has that warm, hometown feel that keeps you coming back. Can’t wait to return!
Sapori is one of our favorite spots! The food is always so amazing, everything we’ve had there has -always been delicious. The vibe is warm and welcoming, and the staff is so super friendly and welcoming. It’s just an all around great place . Highly recommend!
Sapori is my absolute favorite Italian restaurant and my go-to spot, and every visit reminds me why. The food is consistently amazing—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The restaurant itself is stunning, with elegant décor that creates an such an upscale atmosphere. What truly makes the experience stand out is the staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly, attentive, professional, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The owners are also incredibly kind and welcoming, which makes the restaurant feel even more special. If you’re looking for fine Italian dining with a beautiful, upscale atmosphere, Sapori is the place to go. Every visit has been a fantastic experience, and I can’t recommend it enough. Honestly, I wish Google allowed 10 stars, because this place absolutely deserves it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sapori was really good. The service was honestly the standout — everyone was super attentive without being over the top, which made the whole night feel easy and relaxed and the food was really good. Overall, definitely worth going if you’re looking for good Italian food with great service and a comfortable atmosphere.
We absolutely love this place! Our server, Sammy, was amazing and made us feel so welcome. The food was delicious, everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Our family even had the chance to meet the owner, who was very respectful and kind. The restaurant was very clean and had a wonderful atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back!
The food was absolutely delicious perfectly seasoned, beautifully presented, and clearly made with fresh ingredients. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning. The staff provided exceptional service from start to finish. They were friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Their professionalism and positive attitude truly enhanced our overall experience
We held a bereavement lunch here for a party of about 35 people, and I truly cannot say enough good things about the experience. The owner went above and beyond for us. He was incredibly respectful, patient, and answered all of my questions during the planning process, which meant a lot during such a difficult time. The service was amazing, the food was absolutely delicious, and we were seated in a private party room that was beautifully decorated. Everything was handled with care and professionalism, allowing our family to feel comfortable and supported. I’m very grateful to the owner and staff and would highly recommend this place for both the food and the exceptional hospitality.
I was a little bit skeptical when I seen 370 reviews with a 4.9 rating until I actually went there. It is completely legit. The menu is small, but that’s because everything is done to perfection. The service was impeccable. Sammy was on top of everything like white on rice. There’s a true passionate chef in that kitchen. The attention to detail was incredible. I will most definitely be returning.
I decided to treat myself to a solo dinner on Christmas Day. It wasn’t easy finding a restaurant that was open, but I found Sappori. Located in Staten Islands Eltingville. This was a nice drive for me but it was well needed. When I arrived they greeted me at the door and it was full on service from there. All of the servers were mingling with customers as if I stepped into a family living room. Now let’s get to the food! OMG!! I ordered the Chilean sea bass an it was the most delicious fish I have ever tasted! The portion was good and the veggies were tasty and tender. Wow wow wow. I had a lichee martini which was also great and the sweet and spicy calamari. What a Gem this place is and yes on Staten Island!! I would highly recommend. Merry Christmas and Hapoy new year!!!
Sammy was our waiter. This gentleman is five stars alone. He is so well-versed in his profession and can tell you the menu front to back without looking at it, including the dozen specials. The restaurant itself has a beautiful ambience and is encased in windows with dim lights at every table my girlfriend ordered the filet mignon and I ordered the pork chop both meals were absolutely delicious. We highly recommend this restaurant on Staten Island
I just did not think Italian food could get any better! While in Paris I was recommended this Italian restaurant. Simply put! Food from the Italian gods! The pizza was amazing, the meat for your pizza is sliced in front of you❗️The salad looked and tasted like they went out back to pick all the produce! I tried 2 glasses of wine one from north Italy & the other south. Both excellent and only added to this fabulous meal! The owner recommended his home made Tiramisu with ground Italian coffee on top! OMG! If you are Tiramisu lover? You will be heaven on the first bite!! I just had the best Italian food ever for me. Owner is from Italy and runs the place with his 2 sons. There love for amazing Italian food is served here❤️ Mercy! Thank you you so much for all the Italian flavor you serve🙏🏼
I visited this Italian restaurant yesterday, and I can honestly say it was the best Italian food I’ve had since moving to New York. Every dish felt authentic and full of flavour, almost like being transported back home. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for genuine Italian cuisine with a cozy atmosphere and great service, this place is a must-try. Highly recommended!
Let me start by saying this is a family owned restaurant and you can tell that each person takes great pride in their work! They treat everyone like family! The atmosphere and ambiance is absolutely beautiful inside and a great taste of style. Now getting to the food, truly unbelievable! Everything is made fresh and delicious from scratch and you can clearly taste it! A true sense of Sapori!
I had an amazing experience at Sapori Ristorante — easily one of the best Italian dining spots in Staten Island! From start to finish, everything was outstanding. We started with the burrata, which was incredibly fresh and creamy — the perfect way to begin the meal. For entrées, I had the Chicken Alfredo and also tried the Shrimp and Scallion Linguine — both were cooked to perfection, full of flavor, and beautifully plated. You can really tell the chefs put care into every dish. The drinks were just as impressive — the Moscato wine paired perfectly with the food, and the Just a Taste cocktail along with the Passionfruit Margarita were both refreshing and well-balanced. For dessert, the Italian cheesecake was light, smooth, and the perfect sweet ending. The atmosphere was warm and elegant, and the service was exceptional — attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Everything came out in perfect timing, and the staff made the night feel relaxed and enjoyable. Overall, Sapori Ristorante is a true gem — amazing food, drinks, and service all in one place. I’ll definitely be back soon and highly recommend it to anyone who loves authentic Italian food done right!
This is my new favorite spot. The Chicken Parmigiana is a game-changer—seriously the best I've ever had. Beyond the food, the service was warm, attentive, and incredibly professional. Plus, they have a fantastic, well-curated selection of wines and cocktails. Five stars are not enough! You have to visit next time you’re in Staten Island and looking for the comfort of good Italian food and the love of family.
Sapori is one of those rare Staten Island gems where the experience feels both sophisticated and comforting at the same time. From the moment you walk in, there’s a warmth that tells you you’re about to eat well, and you absolutely do. The menu is expansive without feeling overwhelming. Every section, from antipasti to mains, feels intentional, showcasing the kind of care you only find in a restaurant that actually loves food. Their handmade pasta is the highlight. You can taste the difference immediately , fresh, delicate, and perfectly textured. Whether it’s a rich truffle oil or a simple cacio e pepe as a special, every bite hits that sweet spot between rustic and refined. Their wine list is another standout. It’s thoughtfully curated, balancing Italian classics with a few unexpected finds. The staff actually knows their pairings, which makes exploring new wines an experience, not a risk. And the desserts, that’s where you realize the kitchen doesn’t take shortcuts. The tiramisu tastes like it came straight from Rome, and the ricotta cheesecake might quietly ruin every other cheesecake you’ve ever had. Sapori delivers what every great Italian restaurant should: food that feels personal, prepared with pride, and served with genuine hospitality. It’s a place you’ll find yourself recommending again and again, and for good reason.
We recently celebrated our anniversary at Sapori Ristorante, and from the moment we arrived, everything about the evening was exceptional. The vibe of the restaurant is both elegant and inviting — cozy yet upscale, with a warm ambiance that made our special night feel even more intimate and memorable. Brian, the owner, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. His friendliness and attentiveness set the tone for the entire evening. It’s clear he genuinely cares about his guests’ experiences — not just as customers, but as people. He checked in on us personally and made sure every detail was just right. The service from the entire staff was flawless — attentive without being overbearing, and always perfectly timed. From the moment we sat down to the last sip of our cocktail, we felt truly taken care of. And let’s talk about the food and drinks — absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. You can taste the passion and quality in every bite. The cocktails were expertly crafted and complemented the meal perfectly. We couldn’t have asked for a better anniversary dinner. Sapori Ristorante is a true gem, and Brian’s personal touch makes it all the more special. We left feeling full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly, highly recommended!
We had a wonderful dinner at Sapori in Montclair tonight. The Italian food was truly delicious, and we were celebrating our daughter’s 18th birthday, which made the evening even more special. The restaurant has such a lovely atmosphere – clean, beautiful, and very welcoming. The staff was warm and attentive, which made us feel right at home. The outdoor patio is also a great spot to enjoy a meal. Highly recommend! 🌟
Dining at Sapori feels like being welcomed into a bustling Italian family kitchen, the staff greets you with genuine warmth, and the food is nothing short of spectacular. From the mussels in white sauce, Pasta E Fagioli and Linguine Frutta di Mare the food is delicious. By the end of the meal, you’ll feel not just satisfied, but already thinking of your next visit.
There service was unlike anything I have experienced in awhile, staff was very personal. They treated you like a regular their even thou it was our first visit. The food from the appetizer to the desert was delicious all the way. I always ask for the specials for the day and never regret it. The halibut was amazing. Pistachio stuffed mini cannoli for desert was remarkable flavor was on point.
Sapori is the bestest in Staten Island! To the food drinks and best of all service. We loved it after hard work. What a treat. Great ambiance outside in summer. Who needs the city?! They're perfect. Lamb chops: perfect Lobster ravioli: beautiful. Extra saucy Drinks: what can we say... had us forget about our rough health care jobs Desserts: perfect ending to the night. Sweet delicious. .. had to pack one to go.. now that says all. Highly recommended. We will be back!
I’m not sure how I feel about this place. I had high hopes because of the reviews. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. To be fair, this was a Valentine’s Day dinner, so we didn’t get to try the regular menu. However, I do think the restaurant should inform guests when booking reservations that only a Valentine’s Day menu will be served. That wasn’t communicated to us. The portions were generous, and you definitely get a lot of food, but flavor-wise, it was just average. I’ve had much better Italian cuisine. Starting with the appetizers, the octopus was a strong opener—nicely charred and a very large portion. The baked oysters and clams, however, were a hard pass for me. They were overly oily and heavily breaded, which completely masked the natural flavors of the shellfish. For the main courses, we ordered scallops with squid ink spaghetti, a ribeye, and a surf and turf. It was a busy night, so perhaps the kitchen was rushed but that shouldn't be an excuse because it was about $80 per person. The spaghetti was just okay, but the scallops were cooked perfectly—tender, not rubbery, and done just right. The ribeye was my mistake; I should have known better than to order steak at an Italian restaurant. I asked for medium rare, but it came out closer to medium. The steak lacked flavor, not juicy and wasn’t particularly impressive, though that’s partly on me for the choice. The surf and turf wasn’t much better. The lobster was overcooked and rubbery, and the steak was well done even though we requested medium. Again, two strikes on the steak potions. Unfortunately, the highlight of the evening was dessert. It was by far the best part of the meal, and I truly enjoyed it. It’s just disappointing that the rest of the dinner didn’t meet the same standard, especially for the price we paid. Again it isn't the money and it wasn't that bad, it could be a lot better knowing there are many Italian spot to dine out in but a friend wanted to try it. That said, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was just right. Perhaps it was simply an off night. I would consider giving it another try if I’m in Staten Island again—just not on Valentine’s Day.
Visited this restaurant for a special occasion. You have to make reservations but it didn't appear to be super busy at the time we arrived. The food was good but it could of had more flavor. The pasta was made fresh but it stuck together and was a bit pasty. The staff was super friendly. It's a very romantic place.
We visited this restaurant yesterday and overall it’s a very beautiful and atmospheric place. The interior is lovely, the service was attentive, and the food was good. The octopus was especially delicious — very tender and perfectly cooked. Unfortunately, one situation really affected our overall experience. One person at our table wanted to order meat, so we asked the waiter what he would recommend. He suggested a “special” meat dish and said it would be good for two people. Since it wasn’t listed on the menu, we assumed it would be similar in price to the other dishes, which are around $35 on average. The meat arrived and it was tasty, although there were a few very fatty pieces that we didn’t finish. However, when the bill came, we were shocked to see that this dish cost $160. We were never informed about the price, and since it wasn’t on the menu, we had no idea it would be that expensive. In situations like this, it would be fair and professional for the waiter to clearly mention the price beforehand so guests can decide whether they want to order it. It’s a shame because the restaurant has a great atmosphere and good food, but this situation left a very unpleasant impression and overshadowed the otherwise positive experience.
Not sure if today is mother's day not enough ingredients or chef has changed. We ordered a picked up during lunch and noticed Fettuccine Bolognese and Linguine Frutta di Mare were totally failed to meet their quality standards like it used to be. Very disappointed. Both lacking sauce especially Fettuccine Bolognese, even worse. Their homemade linguine texture absolutely different today. Didn't taste like a chewy texture at all but like a think cut from lasagna sheets. Just lose a customer.
