The best steaks we’ve had in a long time! And the service was top-notch as well!

Went on the recommendation of my air bnb host. Ray, the owner, greeted me like I've been here before. Huge portions of perfect NY steak and lobster. Stuffed myself silly so didn't try dessert. This is a definite stop next time I'm in the area.

Get to lunch on time! The parking lot fills up fast. When we got there people were standing outside talking (lots of smiles all around). We got our name added to the list and waited. In 15 minutes we were seated & had placed our order. I got a rib eye lunch steak w/salad & bread. Needless to say half that steak went home for a steak sandwich the next day. Oh yeah!!

My best friend & I both were visiting Stockton for 2 days...& This steak restaurant was So Very Good. Also, our waitress was so nice & she made us feel very welcome in Stockton & throughout our meal... & The food is Ao delicious! My Ribeye was cooked perfect! We are both So glad we had dinner here :))

Every town I'm in I find a steakhouse and this is by far my favorite place. Alivia is possibly my new favorite person now and I'm most certainly coming back. The food was so good and the atmosphere was perfect. My coworker had left his leftover steak, baked potato, and fried onions on the table so I fed it to the stay German Sheppard out front. I'll be back for the dog mostly though. I did try to take him home but he wouldn't get in the truck.

Great place to grab a steak in the Central Valley. My favorite place to get a fillet mignon prepared. Not an overwhelming amount of side options but it doesn't really matter because people come here for the steak. Also have the options of lobster and chicken. Some may think a bit pricey but well worth the cost IMHO.

Best steak house in Stockton! Excellent service, comfortable atmosphere, and delicous food. The steak was cooked perfect! While this is primarily a steak house there are other choices - such as chicken and lobster which are also very good. A party of four will run you about $175 without drinks, which is reasonable for the quality of food and service. Highly recommended!

Service is amazing! Especially from Olivia. Ray is amazing! Food is delicious. Very clean. Restrooms are clean. There is a very large bar area. Super nice place. Food is delicious! They treat you like family here.

This place is definitely old school and family run, but that is not a bad thing at all. Having dined in both the dining room and the bar, I can say the bar has far more character to it. The dining room is caught in a bit of a time warp, and not necessarily in the best way. When you walk in, you approach a counter will all the meat in a case and you select your preferred cut and tell them how you want it cooked. You then proceed to your table and finish your order with your server. There is plenty to choose from and you won't go home hungry, but the menu is not extensive and the place is not fancy or pretentious. They just focus on serving a solid old school steakhouse experience. Service has been great every time we have been there!

The steak was literally the best I have ever had and the other items were delicious! Angel provided awesome service with appropriate humor and fabulous attention to even the smallest details. This was a great experience and we will be back for sure!

Extremely large steaks, cooked perfectly, the heat signature is coast to coast with a great sear. The flavor is fantastic and so so tender with each bite. A true steakhouse with large portions and an ambience created in time. The plating was spot on for a meal that is steak and loaded potatoes, comes with a hot plate to maintain a hot meal. Full bar and plenty of seating, that said, I appreciate that you can have a quit conversation without being drowned out by all the guest. Split your meal or take home the left overs, because there is plenty to eat and you will want all of it.

Always a great experience…. It all begins with a classic refreshing relish sampler. If a classic salad is what you’re in to this is your spot. For me it’s always the Filet Mignon, perfectly cooked and always satisfying. Great service, always feel like home!

Took my wife here for anniversary and that was absolutely amazing we had the steak and prawns and I got to tell you the steak was the best steak we have ever had really tender and juicy. And the prawns were amazing our server was absolutely awesome. We love the atmosphere and really appreciated how the owner came around to everybody's table to make sure they were all doing well. He is very welcoming

This was my first time eating here I had heard that there food was good and it was I had the rib eye it came with bake potato with all the goodies fried onion rings salad that was 55.00 buck the portions were big enough that I came home with 1/2: my steak and potato. They also had french bread and butter and a small relish plates dress attire business casual nothing fancy. Keep in mind it's not a large restaurant and the are always busy it's suggested to make reservations before coming . There is also a full bar with seating in there as well the drinks are mixed perfect not too strong the staff are very friendly and when it comes to paying no need to figure the tips it's included in the price of your meal this is a place I plan to come back to again the prices are on the top end of they have lobster and prawns if you add them to your dish like a rib eye then your looking at 100 dollars or more for that one dinner. This would be a great place to celebrate an anniversary or special occasion. There's parking for handicap and additional parking in back.

Had to go back, two nights in a row! Steaks were delicious and so was the rest of the food! Very generous portions, and great cuts of steak. The service was excellent, as was the atmosphere. Thank you Alivia. You are a gem of a server with a great attitude and the cutest laugh. Well worth the price!!

This place is a hidden gem! The food was excellent. The price weren't cheap but they weren't unreasonable either. Everyone was friendly. Especially the owner who made sure everyone was happy with their food and helped anyone who had their hands full when leaving going as far as accompanying them to their car. The area this restaurant is located in isn't the best (across the street is a "flea-bag" motel that advertises rooms by the hour) but that didn't deter us at all. We have already made plans to return for dinner soon.

Laid back ambiance but definitely good food. We visited last week for dinner after a year of not coming and food is still the same quality. They let you sit down first now than before where you order before sitting. Big groups, families and kids were there and couple if couples on a date like us. The servers are very attentive and nice. Good experience every time and will comeback again.

Good energy, waiters were nice, gave us fresh bread and just the right temperature butter. Most places give you cold butter and cold bread. That wasn’t the case here. My salad was fresh and I ordered there country frida steak with mash potatoes 🔥🔥 5 STAR ALL THW WAY

What a Great places to eat . friendly staff , tasty food & great consist drinks. Average meal would run you 50-60 per person depending on what you order , the dinner came with complementary bread .when you order dinner the meal comes with a salad with your choice of dressing, & 2 sides of you choice . I highly recommend the onion rings, which I stole off my parents plate lol. The condiments come on the side for the baked potatoes which i loved ! Everything serve beautifully, tasty & fresh. The bar is a more mature crowd. My waitresses was amazing ,friendly ,outgoing & brought everything to us asap . The man i assume who was the owner was very nice & made sure everything was perfect. I've seen this place for years in my neighborhood, I can't believe i waited so long to try it here . I will definitely be returning!

I haven't had a steak dinner like this in years. This place is great. It's pricey but they fill you up. Amg the people that work there are take care of you. Whatever they can do for you they will try there best to make you happy. I would've liked to meet the person cooking the food and give them a salute for a job well done

El Rancho still has it! Haven’t had the chance to experience this place in years. Made a stop to celebrate and was blown away. The decor has updated but everything else is exactly as I remembered - top notch service (Izzy was the best!) and perfectly cooked steaks. You will not leave hungry!

Excellent service and delicious steak! The cut was juicy and tender, served with a generous portion of fries and cooked veggies. They serve quality meat! Definitely the go-to steakhouse in the Stockton area. I even had a great laugh when I read their sign walking in the front door

Best steak house in San Joaquin/Stanislaus counties. Everything comes with the steak no al carte. You get salad, Genova bread, onion rings and fully loaded baked potato 🥔. Good drinks and great service also has a bar area and yes its in Stockton but located in a industrial area close to freeways.

Awesome place for lunch. Stopped by here before heading back home. Got the 16oz steak from lunch menu. Steak was cooked to order and tasted really good. I only wish they had fried Brussel sprout in bacon jam to go with the steak.

First time here & we we're greeted by the owner. He made sure our table was prepared for us and ready right away. Our waitress was very polite and made sure we had everything we needed or wanted. We were shopping in Stockton and came across this steakhouse. The restaurant definitely had an old steakhouse vibe to it. The food, service and prices were beyond expectation. You’ll actually find their limited menu refreshing as the meals come with bread, and their own veggie appetizer platter. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, and we left with a box of leftovers which for me is unusual.

So let me tell you about this place. If you're looking for great steak and lobster and solid drinks, I encourage you to go early sit in a booth in the bar relax and have a great time this time we had Israel take care of us and of course he was awesome just like everybody. The owner gracious as always. The food amazing. This isn't the Sizzler so don't even go there, that's where the amateurs go. You want a good old-fashioned service awesome food a good time and this is the place to go. My highest recommendation and as always this is not a compensated endorsement.

Fantastic steak place in a rough part of town hidden away off the beaten path. Their food all tasted excellent but damn their steaks are $$$ that's said they served us an amazing cut of beef. We got the ribeye which had a nice massive pelical and good marbling. Steak was perfectly cooked and nice and tender.

El Rancho Inn is a great steak house. You want a steak you got three choices: New York Strip, Ribeye or Fillet Mingnion. You can order shrimp or lobster, too. Sides include baked potato and onion rings. My wife ordered the Bloody Mary and loved it. It is a no frills place, wear your jeans and shirt if you wish, but expect a great steak.

We went for our anniversary. They have a simple down to earth menu. Basically steak n lobster. Don't mind paying the price for a great meal. However, my husband rib eye wasn't all that, he said it needed seasoning or something. He loves Texas Roadhouse to b exact. My lobster meal was great and a lot of food. Comes with baked potato, onion rings, bread n big salad also. Kids meals are big too.

Sooooooooo good, portions are huge. Our server was attentive and a joy. Nice wine list. My only concern we were not given a choice to eat in the bar area. Not sure if it was a different menu. Absolutely coming back!

The salad was great with chickpeas and red beans in it. There is bread and a condiment plate that comes out first with carrots, pickles, and pepperoni. The steak comes with onion rings and a baked potato. The onion rings are the thin kind. The baked potato comes with sour cream, bacon bits, and green onions on the side. I was disappointed with the steak. I asked for medium rare and it was more rare than medium. And, the steak had no seasoning on it. So, just not a lot of flavor.

Good steaks, good prawns, good service. Atmosphere is not like many swanky steakhouses and that's a good thing. Overall I'd give it 4 stars because I've had better steaks elsewhere but I do enjoy this establishment.

The meals were fantastic! I do wish they would be able to split bills for lunch and deliver the bill more promptly. Fix these two things and it's a hands down 5 star rating. Fantastic service and food otherwise.

Food was good. Service was good. It's pricey, meals start at $34 and up, in case it's your first time like it was ours. The only thing that I didn't like was that they seem to have on AC and it was humid and hot. We ended up leaving because I felt like I was going to faint and then started getting nauseas and got a headache from the heat.

Great food, good portions ... kind if pricey... but its one of stocktons secrets.

The food was ok. Steaks were spot on. The onion rings were cold and oily. The "prawns" were just frozen shrimp that had been deep fried. The food was quite pricey for an out of the way mom and pop. Also the condiments for the backed potatoes came in little plastic ramikins. A ribeye and three fried shrimp, backed potatoes and greasy cold onion rings was $60.00. Service was great but way over priced for the food that was presented.

Great steaks and drinks - well prepared without excessive foo foo. The owner is hands-on and came around twice to check-in with us which is a nice touch and appreciated. The booths in the bar are the comfortable seats to be in for sure. 4 stars due to service seeming to lack in enthusiasm though technically well executed.

Serves delicious, aged corn-fed Iowa beef. The best steak dinner in Stockton. Casual and friendly. A very plain dining room in need of some style. One price meal includes everything. Usually busy except on days like Valentine's Day when you get there early or you don't get in at all. Reservations for groups of 6 or more. UPDATE: Thanks to our country's leadership, as of 2023 their prices have soared.  El Rancho Inn was never cheap, but now they're just extravagantly expensive. Maybe they're scrimping in the kitchen too: the onion rings were cold and greasy.

We were out of town guests, our friends were locals and probably regulars because our table was treated like royalty. The salads were fresh, the steaks and prawns were very tasty, the potatoes were well cooked and hot. My only recommendation is that tge bread could have been a bit fresher, but all in all a great meal with great people.

A casual steakhouse with great food. Selected the steak prior to ordering and enjoyed the relish tray and Genova bread for a bit before the salad arrived and then the delicious hot steak, fluffy baked potato and fried onion strings. 3 stars is generous. The place is rundown and there are only a few parking spaces. Kinda difficult to even enter the lot. Ordered 2 ribeyes, medium. One was medium, one not. No seasoning whatsoever. Place was not full, but the waitress was negligent. The steaks come only with baked potato, onion rings, salad and wilted relish tray-olives, carrots and I think celery. No other sides available. Very limited choices. Prices are bout the same as a much more upscale steakhouse.

My 16,17 oz Steak was not seasoned cooked only. Baked potato was not an option at the time of dining in.

I was very happy with my visit. A wonderful place to have a great meal. This is a real deal steak house with a simple yet elegant menu. The prices are fitting for the offerings. I ordered the Rib eye and Shrimp, The plate was more than ample and delicious. The onion rings were outstanding and Prawns Big crispy goodness, Oh did I mention the fresh bread and butter. The crudites were so tasty and fresh. The steak ! Omg cooked to perfection, to order. The word that came to mind as I was looking at my steak was " cowboy size " ... It was just as good the next Day 😄 The owner came by to check on me and kid around with the wait staff. Thanks Israel for Top notch service. Next time I'll try the Lobster 🦞

Nice friendly staff and gregarious owner. Excellent splitting policy. They'll split your steak and give each of you full sides for a reasonable upcharge. Unfortunately, our steak was overcooked ( asked for medium, came out well) and tough. I don't feel it was as good quality beef as I've had there in the past.

I was disappointed with my Rib Eye steak. It looked like a glob of meat, not a slab. Chewey and overcooked. What was supposed to be marbling was more like grizzel. The lobster was Australian and didn't like the onion rings.

I have never known any establishment that could mess up a rare steak like they did. I ordered the New York rare and it came to me dry and without flavor ( I specifically asked for garlic on mine) My son and wife ordered the teriyaki beef steak pieces and the BBQ beef pieces and both tasted burned. We definitely will never go back to waste our money on our special occasion. Don't know why people talk so highly of the place.

The food was extremely overpriced for the quality that we received. My husband's steak was not cooked as he had asked and my steak was drowning in teriyaki sauce along with our Ceasars salad. The sides came in little plastic containers instead of little dishes or something. So the presentation felt very lazy for the price we paid. It was over $300 for 4 people. Overall, I would never come back. But the waiter was very friendly, sweet and attentive.

To be honest, this place was mediocre at best. To have spent $200 on 2 adults who only had one drink each And the two of the cheapest steaks you could order, We were pretty damn disappointed. Steaks were super underseasoned, they were first undercooked. The food was rush cooked. and I mean rushed to the point of we hadn't even gotten our salads yet, amd it wS already cooked.. And it wasn't busy so being rushed to cook didn't quite make sense. Top shelf, Long Island was 20 bucks which hubby said was overpriced but. Alchohol. Shrug. and the Raspberry limoncello was delicious. Fancy restaurant in downtown Sacramento though, the kitchen didn't even charge us this much for our drinks and tasted just as good. (better) There Were no options for appetizers or even options for sides, which was pretty disappointing. No desserts either? The Onion Rings, that came on the side with your steak was under seasoned and just tasted like plain flour batter. Not even salted..... The potato was a potato. Just spending $200 on a meal was super underwhelming, and we've had better meals for less of a cost at market tavern in town. and prime table was eons better for similar price points. Not sure where they justify the prices they charge. We'd have rather spent our money at Outback or texas RH, which is not even close to the quality of meat we should have gotten here. We go out to eat a lot and are foodies. So we spend on good food often. But that makes us a little snobbish about it. It is what it is. But We definitely wouldn't be back to this place. Because the food was fine, but not worth the price. The steaks were also quite small for what they charged and the quality of the meat we got did not match the quality of gorgeous meat they showed displayed in their case when you walk in. Dissapointed. Maybe we got unlucky. But for a random saturday night where its NOT crowded? I think i know why now. Shrug. Dissapointed.

Our waitress forgot to take one persons order and it took is several minutes to flag her down to get it taken. Then all the salads came out and one person didn't get theirs. It took several minutes to get one brought out. Two steaks were half well done, which is what was ordered and the other half was rare. Our drinks didn't get refilled until we were done eating. The service was terrible for a $600 tab. The auto gratuity was $95 which I would not have given but a fraction of that.

Rough night. The last two times we have been here it has been very mid for the price. Waiter forgot to take the order of one of us, and messed up the order on another. Restaurant says they serve prawns, but was definitely given shrimp (small). Food was very bland, and the cook on my steak was incredibly uneven (medium-well on half, and nearly blue on the other). For a place that quite literally has a potato, onion rings, and a protein on every place…it was very disappointing.

Saturday dinner We didn’t enjoy the experience at all. the service was really slow, waited close to an hour for are orders We didn’t get to pick out are steaks the display case was completely empty We both order steaks and lobsters The salad was odd it came with two different types beans “Garbanzo and red beans” in the salad That small plate of carrots, green onion, pickles, jalapeño peppers & black olives was really weird Please explain how to eat that! Steak didn’t have the sear markings The Onion ring strings were clumpy Lobster didn’t have that sweet taste even with the butter it was still bland Steak was also bland and under cooked We have been to a lot of steak houses Morton’s, Ruth Chris, Harris and so on. Definitely not for us thank god we sent it all back and left never to return again;(

I came here the other day on a date, and safe to say I’ll never be back. First of all she has the nastiest attitude I’ve ever witnessed. She kept giving me dirty looks and being short and snarky with me, but with my boyfriend she was making jokes and even winked at him! I find this disgusting behavior from a fellow woman. Disgusting, never will be back here again!!!!

This place is absolutely disgusting!! Never in my life have i wrote a bad review buy this here is absolutely pathetic. The shrimp scampi was more like shrimp on plain butter absolutely no flavor. The steak was far beyond burnt shame on the waiter and cook for thinking it’s okay to even serve something like that. The steak tasted like charcoal please rethink twice about coming here. Very disappointed to have chosen this place for my anniversary.
