JJ Fish and Chicken

My friends came here first on our work trip, everyday I would hear something positive about that restaurant.. “how is that possible?!” How amazing everything that ate so far at the restaurant, and my friends are picky eaters. so I came and tried their catfish nuggets…. 🤯🤯🤯 My friends shared their chicken wings and seafood gumbo .. MY GOD! Tasteful and fresh and makes you feel good. Now I’m catching myself going back with them more often because I can not say no to really good food. Service was great too! A young man met all our expectations and needs.

Came here for some last minute soul food and this place came in clutch! The fish and red beans & rice were good. I got a lot of food for 20 bucks and the gentleman behind the counter was super chill! Will definitely come back!

Went in on a whim. Great, hot and fresh! Got the combo plate.. 2 items.. fried shrimp.. catfish.. fries.. white bread.. loved the hot sauce! Guy behind the counter was really friendly. Took about ten minutes to get our food. Fried fresh, which is great. Wish they served beer!

The garlic shrimp noodles— the shrimp was ok, yet the noodles and the sauce were awesome. Every bite you would have a lot of kicks from the fresh garlic. Chicken nuggets— they were softer than most of the fast food chain, but they were succulent!

This is a pretty good spot and my friend and I stopped in while we were in the area. We both got catfish fillet plates and the food was really good. I don’t care for the bread but the fish and french fries were flavorful and I always love that a place cooks the food made to order. It didn’t take very long for our food to be prepared, may be 5 to 10 minutes or so.I will definitely return.

Excellent food and attentive counter staff. Had great conversation while they made the food to order. Great fry cook the food was fresh and crisp. The French fries were excellent and didn't taste like fish. They have an extensive menu and I suggest this place to everyone.

Really liked the food and service. The guy up front was very friendly and confidently reassured me that they do not use the same oil to fry the shrimp as they do the regular fish. This is really important to me as I have a shrimp allergy but I do not have an allergy to regular fish. Surprisingly this is not easy to find in a seafood restaurant and I really appreciate that. I had the red snapper and it was good. No complaints im just really grateful they don’t share the same oil for everything

Service and food was amazing! It was pretty empty however several people came in to pick up phone/online orders. Wait wasn't not bad as I ordered food as a walk in guest. The gentleman that took my order was very polite and efficient, food came out in the time window he suggested it would be ready. Food was hot (obviously) fresh and overall perfect. Fried perfectly, seasoned well, top tier. My order was: 15 wings and fries Large Sole (fish) w/fries Garlic noodles and prawns/shrimp

I ordered the jumbo shrimp. The seasoning was on point, but it was over cooked. A little upset about that. Nonetheless my food was still good. I wasn’t a fan of the wheat bread that they served with it. Not sure what brand of bread it was, but I didn’t enjoy it. I also got the catfish with fries. Fish was good. Fries were bland and needed salt. The Mac N Cheese was super cheesy just how I like it!

I ordered today from door dash me and my Wife we got fish and chicken I called them and spoke with someone let him know I'm getting ready to ordered can you make sure light salt on chicken and fries? Last time it was very salty he said sure call us back so after I ordered I tried calling call like 15 times no answer this is not good. Then my wife wanted chocolate cake they gave her red velvet which she does not eat because of the red dye we try calling back no answer so disappointed never again

Disappointed. I waited for 15 minutes for the shrimp and rice order at 1:20pm (no other customers) and was told after 10 minutes of waiting that there was no rice, only noodles. This is what I got, for 17.95. Salty, spicy.

Although the food is always excellent, I had to excuse myself today. It was just too much, when the young man taking the orders was disrespectful, rude & totally unprofessional when he spoke to the cook. He called him out of his name in front of customers. He was so disrespectful. He appeared to be very comfortable doing this which leads me to believe this was not the first time this happened. I had to leave with my grandchildren as his behavior goes against everything I teach them. Not sure how long until we try again. I'd rather eat somewhere else then be subject to his rude, disrespectful behavior. Clearly this employee has no resect for his seniors or customers. Sad this is allowed. If the owner reads this please correct his unprofessional behavior. Customers should not have to be subject to this unwanted behavior where I spend my money.

I truly love jjs. I always order online and call them so they don’t forget the sauces with no problem. Well I ordered again tonight and called them 12 times and not 1 answer. I understand being busy but it’s very frustrating when someone cannot even connect to the store. I just hope they put enough sauce in the bag. Will update when I get food Update: sauce was missing and a item and I can’t even get a refund smh

My first experience thru Doordarsh ordering was amazing until I got the order. An overcooked onion rings! I want my onion ring crispy but not that crispy nor burnt. Sorry guys, my honest opinion.

I live in Los Angeles, so yesterday was my first time eating at JJ's, while I was visiting family in Stockton. I spent $44 on fish, chicken, and shrimp. The only thing that was worth eating was the shrimp, and fries. The chicken tasted as if it was starting to go bad right before they cooked it, the fish was fresh, but it was mushy, with NO crunch or seasoning. In spite of all the disappointment with the food, the customer service was excellent!

Order food on doordash fish is not cooked all the way through, second time this has happened to me the other time I picked up food and went all the way back home..... food cost too much to be playing around... fish is supposed to be crunchy not soggy

They never answer the phone which is very disrespectful to the people who's spend there money with you. When you go in there you can see its not that busy, this location sucks. Most of the time im very busy so I try to call my order in so I can get to my destination in due time, rather its work or home.

The catfish was just okay. BUT my chicken was burnt and both the mac n cheese and coleslaw were bad (like expired), we had to throw them both out.

I’m not sure what makes me think it’s better every time I go and it’s not. It’s been a total of 5 times that I have returned my orders. Either they give me someone else’s orders till now today they gave me buffalo fish stating that it was catfish. When buffalo fish bones are completely thicker and the shape of the fish is different than catfish. Very bad service and inconsiderate of a customer driving back and forth. Never again. Check your food before you leave seriously

My first experience here was a few yrs ago. They put too much salt on the fish & fries. I decided to give them another try today. I wish I could add an image to this post. The Hush-Puppies were so burned, they were darker than I am, and I'm Caramel colored. When you call them to complain, they tell you to come back for another plate..NO. that's not how you do business. Gas is HIGH, let's talk about that. You giving me GAS to come back so YOU can fix my order. Lesson learned, if you don't like it, don't go back, and I wont.

Ordered online for pickup. Order was not even started for 1/2 hour after scheduled pickup time. Didn't put my 2 desserts in the bag. Had to ask for them after checking my bag. Got home, most of the food was so overcooked it was not edible. Threw 3/4 of it in the trash. Almost $50 worth of food in the trash. I don't know what happened to JJ's. We've been going for years. We will never go back.

I ordered two large fish combos. I got sole and jumbo shrimp. The food taste like it was left over from the day before. The food was overcooked and rubbery. I’m very disappointed in the quality of food I received today. Thats $50 down the crapper.

The cashier was nice enough( just doing his job, he wasn't pulling double duty as the cook so that'd a relief);but the raw fish that I had to cook myself and the incorrect pricing on the website and the board inside the restaurant wasn't okay. The fried okra was okay not bad but not the best I've ever had, that goes to a mom and pop in Baton Rogue,LA (forgot the name). Every single piece was 25% cooked. I got home opened the fish up ready to eat with my show loaded up and boom. I have to cook the fish for another 15 minutes to be able to eat it. Not going back, I cheated on my diet to have to pay for poorly cooked food that I had to finish cooking at home myself.

I am my nephew yesterday evening. Did a phone order for pick up we both ordered the three-piece combination. Mine came with oysters, chicken and catfish my nephew order catfish oyster and jumbo shrimp. Got back home started eating and it was so overcooked. I guess it’s like a box of chocolate. You never know what you’re gonna get inside. Anybody that goes there need please have precaution on who’s cooking your food, it appears to me that the young Spanish kid that works in the back in the evening times really does not care or obviously formally has not been trained

I order two 3-way combos' catfish jumbo shrimp and oysters, double up on jumbo shrimp and got chicken strips and then a large order of red snapper all with fries. some guy came back while i was waiting that spoke highly of them, he ate there at least twice a week. He had a look of disappointment on his face as he waited to bring his food back. I asked the guy did you double check my order he's like yes remind you I gave them a tip in their empty jar. I drive back across town to open the containers to soggy fries' shrimp were half crispy half soggy on one side red snapper had a real strong fishy taste and on my catfish 3-way combo he gave me 2cubes of catfish in corn meal then another type of fish cooked in flour whattttttttt. I'm totally disappointed and can't believe your affiliated with the JJs off of third or the one off of seminary. I called and asked them what happened is the cook having a bad night the guy just said you can bring it back and well fix it no ill take that lost and will never go again. I ordered the Snapper and the fish is disgustingly fishy and not edible and no fish is not supposed to taste fishy. Prawns were overcooked as well. The beans in the Red Beans and Rice were also not fully cooked. This food was absolutely horrible. This meal was $41 because I had it delivered. I'm extremely disappointed.
