Great tasting vegan options i got the black mushroom salad & there vegan bean curd beef, and there delucious taro drink, came worth the family they loved it & I couldn't be happier with the food and service, definately worth checking out if your nearby and hungry, they work on a first come first serve service so there's no reservations which is nice, serving size is great too, thanks!
The pancake wrap with spicy pork were incredible!! Everybody is so kind and since it was my first time here, the lady working helped me choose some of her favorites. It truly feels like a homey experience! Best place for authentic food for sure!
Food was delicious and came out fast! You HAVE to get the string beans, they were very flavorful and cooked perfectly. Also the scallion pancake with the spicy pork, it was so good. The shredded beef with long hot pepper was delicious, but they aren’t kidding about the spice, so if you enjoy spice, this dish is perfect.
Delicious dumpling House. We love going there for the food. Place is very small and not a lot of seating. So if you got it at the wrong time you could be stuck waiting along time for a seat.
Awesome place, I usually go into these long reviews but honestly not needed. There are so many choices of authentic Chinese around SBU and this place is a great start, also some amazing Long Xiao Bao! It is small, cute, and homey the inside but during night and school days it can be crowded, more of a takeout spot and if you catch it on an off day or summer day, it is a nice sit-down place.
Food was so good! Everything came out super delicious and very hot and fresh too! Got the soup dumplings, lo mein and pot stickers and everything was perfect! The restaurant size is cute and perfect for a couples’ date!!
It was good option for lunch happy that we came here. The service is great and the food was good. It’s a good restaurant to come eat and the prices are pretty good. If you’re nearby you should definitely come check it out. We will definitely be coming again.
Red Tiger Dumpling House in Stony Brook is an absolute gem & easily has the best soup dumplings in Suffolk County! Every single time we go, the food is amazing, hot, fresh, & packed with flavor. We’ve tried a bunch of different dishes & honestly… everything has been so good. My personal favorites are the pork soup dumplings (so juicy & perfect every time) & the scallion pancake wrap with beef which is seriously addictive. & my fiancé is OBSESSED with the fried diced chicken with chilis & hot peppers… just a warning, it’s definitely spicy, but if you like heat it’s unreal! Another thing I love is that they have tons of vegetarian & vegan options, so there’s always something for everyone. If you’re in the Stony Brook area & want incredible Chinese food & dumplings that actually live up to the hype, Red Tiger Dumpling House is a must!!
A small shop full of happy people that love it. We had a wide variety of soup dumplings, scallion pancakes, pumpkin cakes, and sesame balls. Everything was fresh, well made and extremely tasty. It was cold and windy and I left warm, happy, and full. They were great with my kids and friendly even if they were loudly proclaiming their love of dumplings. I’ll be back whenever I’m visiting my parents!
Amazing food! This was my first visit and I can confidently say I’ll be back in the future! Every dish came out quickly and with great quality.
Cozy, super casual dining experience. The soup dumplings were DELICIOUS, string beans were very yummy, and the service was excellent. In the winter the dining area fills with cold air every time the front or back door opens, which is not ideal. But otherwise it was a fun and yummy night out and we're looking forward to going back.
One of my all time favorite restaurants! Some of the best food I’ve ever had! I always bring my guests from out of town here and it’s the best part of their trip! Amazing food, great atmosphere, and kind and wonderful staff! Some favorites are the almond milk tea, soup dumplings of course, sesame balls, scallion pancakes, and any steamed bun!
A Wonderful place. Unique dishes unavailable elsewhere: Sautéed fish in wine sauce & wood ears; fried tofu mai fun rich broth noodle soup; luscious steamed pork soup dumplings; widest slab rice noodle dry fried chow fun anywhere; etc. etc. Cook is father of very friendly waiter,so fast service. Can’t stay away more than a week.
Great little spot for fresh delicious food. My Chinese friends go there. They make HOMEMADE dumplings of all kinds. Prepare to wait during times such as Saturday lunch, for example. Keep in mind the dumplings are not the same if you try to heat them up at home so either eat them dine-in or immediately after takeout. The spicy beef scallion pancake appetizer, although the pancake a little thick, was very very tasty and filling. Service was on point.
Amazing first time! The waitress was super nice beyond nice and kind hearted. The food was so yummy looks as good as it sounds. Definitely have to come back. So pretty inside
Excellent food at reasonable prices. Staff is very nice, friendly and informative! They are also willing to adjust the spiciness of the dish to your liking! And the food is authentic and great if I haven't mentioned 😋
The food is outstanding! I have been on the island for 3(ish) years and I would proudly say this is the best soup dumpling spot I have found. The people are kind and attentive. The food is very reasonably priced and worth EVERY. PENNY. I will be a regular moving forward.
Stopped in based on high reviews. It didn't look very impressive inside however the staff was friendly and the food was priced fair and was extremely delicious. We got the scallion pancakes with pork, curry chicken dumplings, kingfu bun, walnut buns, and shrimp dumplings. It came with free soup dumplings. We would buy it all again, as everything tasted amazing. Food ended up costing about $20 a person which we thought was very fair considering the flavor and quality.
I stopped by this dumpling restaurant recently, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The dumplings were a highlight — perfectly pan-fried on the outside with a soft, savory filling inside. They had just the right balance of crispness and tenderness, and I could honestly eat a whole tray by myself.
Its been many years since Ive had Dumplings on Long Island NY that stood up to my personal favorite Hunan of Levittown in late 80’ through early 2000’s when it closed. ( Not to be confused with Hunan Dynasty ). Today my wife and I found Red Tiger D.H and had their simple Pork Vegetable steam dumpling and Pork&Shrimp Shumai with green tea. BAM they were awesome and completely hit the spot!!! All of it clearly hand made and with a food love. We cannot wait to return and order more from the menu which was full of mouth watering dishes. Today was merely a sample and pleasant surprise. The interior decor shared in pictures is small with limited amount of seating which is very traditional but also very clean. All services were extremely friendly and welcoming from start to finish. If your local or even somewhere on Long Island and seek great oriental food, here is your place for sure!!
Red Tiger Soup Dumplings delivers a solid dining experience for fans of this classic dish. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between cozy and modern, with a welcoming vibe that suits both casual meals and small gatherings. The menu focuses heavily on soup dumplings, offering a variety of fillings like pork, crab, and veggie options, all crafted with care. The dumplings themselves are a highlight—delicate wrappers, flavorful broth, and well-seasoned fillings that hit the spot. Some standout variations, like the spicy pork or truffle-infused options, add a creative twist without straying too far from tradition. Service is generally attentive, with staff quick to explain the menu or offer pairing suggestions, though it can feel a bit rushed during peak hours. Sides like scallion pancakes and cucumber salad complement the dumplings well, though the portion sizes for non-dumpling dishes can be on the smaller side. Prices are reasonable for the quality, with most orders staying affordable for a satisfying meal. The main critique would be consistency—on occasion, the dumplings can arrive slightly overcooked or with less broth than expected, but it’s not a dealbreaker. Overall, Red Tiger is a reliable spot for soup dumpling enthusiasts, offering a tasty and approachable experience that’s worth checking out if you’re in the mood for a steaming basket of xiao long bao.
Amazing experience overall. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care, every dish we tried was delicious. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, perfect for a relaxed meal. What really stood out was the service; the staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely taken care of. Portions were great and everything came out in a timely manner. Definitely a place I’d come back to and recommend to others.
Amazing Chinese comfort food around this area!! I’m so glad to have found this place and it is cozy and serves such good food. I have ordered many times from here before and have also eaten in!! My personal favorite dishes are their string beans and their xlb. Reminded me a lot of home:) In addition, their service is also very fast and I love how they recommend me dishes when I’m struggling to order. Overall, will always come back again and bring my friends too! 😊😊😊
Red Dragon Dumpling House in Stony Brook was great. We ordered dumplings, scallion pancakes, and shumai, and everything was fresh and delicious. The dumplings were flavorful, the scallion pancakes were perfectly crispy, and the shumai was really good. Food came out hot and fast, and portions were solid. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to.
Loved the food and service. No Chinese food restaurant like Red Tiger around. Perfect spot for a family dinner.

The place has good food but the price was a bit expensive in my opinion. The portions are huge no doubt. I really liked the shredded beef with peppers it was hot and spicy and they will warn you before ordering. The dumplings were a little disappointing for me the taste was average and the dumplings were dry. Their chili oil is really good and its spicy.
Always good! We have been coming for years for their soup dumplings! They offer a huge assortment of authentic Chinese dishes that can please even our pickets of eaters. We have dine in and have done take out and the food is always delicious. Our favorites that never disappoint is the original pork soup dumplings, beef scallion pancakes, steam chicken dumplings and chicken and beef skewers. The kids always enjoy the taro boba teas with extra pearls.
First time here. We came for the soup dumplings and they were great. Great flavor and a nice selection to choose from. We tried crab and pork soup dumpling as well as lobster soup dumplings. We also ordered the spring rolls pretty good as well as the Singapore Mei Fun which had a great curry flavor and a nice spiciness though it was on the small side for an entree. The restaurant was very small. It had 4 two person tables and 2 large picnic tables with benches that could sit 6 people. Service was not the best and staff not that friendly. Once served they never came to see if you needed something or how was the food.
Food was delicious! And came out perfectly timed! Atmosphere could have more comfortable seating & the staff could use an extra hand on the floor for the “service experience” but the food is the staple of this place! An absolute must try & added to my favorites list for more suggestions check out my page mytastebudsss on instagram
I did not order dumplings. I absolutely enjoyed my dish sauté chicken with eggplant, not overly sweet, priced at $16, and change. But the white rice was not white. It was off colored not steam or maybe improperly cooked, a separate charge, too! Scallion pancakes were crispy. They need to work on their sauce. Skip the tea service. A cup of dark tea tasted like lipton tea. The place is very small, there may be a wait to sit. I will go back to taste their other non- dumpling dishes and will keep you posted. Service was great, Shelly did her best to accommodate our seating. She was a gem.
this place was pretty packed, which is why we went in, and it looked pretty as hell. there's an abacus hanging from the ceiling and a lot of lunar new year decor around. they've apparently got free wifi but I literally couldn't find the password? I swear I was looking for it bc our wait time was like 20 minutes for 2 things and a bubble tea. the food wasn't bad though, just ask for utensils because I forgot and it was not an ideal situation.

The food here is consistently good-the atmosphere consistently bad. But I keep going back for the assortment of dumplings!!
over priced routine. food portions were lacking and the pricing was insanely high The woman at the register even resisted supplying duck sauce. Never again!
Was in the neighborhood and decided to try the food here. Dining area was smaller than expected, but did have sufficient tables and seating available when I was there. Very little space between tables and seating which can feel congested and make it difficult to eat or move freely. Waiter was very busy, but was able take our order while being courteous and helpful. Food came out after a decent amount of time and was very hot. Pork soup and chicken soup dumplings were ok. The crab pork soup dumplings were very delicious and flavorful. Scallion pancake wrap with spicy pork, shrimp & pork shumai, and the Dragon & Phoenix leaf buns were very delicious, flavorful, and filling. The sesame cumin lamb kebabs were small, but flavorful and tender. Prices are comparable to other dim sum restaurants. Enough parking available in shared parking lot and the side street.
They buy feedback by giving you a free bubble tea if you leave a good review. Place is small so if your a large group you will probably have to wait. Service was good. Some food was good others I didn't like at all. All together I would not go back. I will stick with fortune wheel on farmingdale or go to Chinatown in Manhattan and have a better experience. The bok choy was good. The general tso's was good as well. The flat noodles with the pork was definitely the best dish. The dumplings all tasted the same. I tried the scallop and the regular pork and besides the outer shell being a different color between the two I could not see or taste any difference between the two. The inside was a little ball of processed meat that both looked and tasted the same. There fried diced chicken with chili and hot pepper was horrible. All I could taste was the oil it was fried it. The chicken was cut so small and thin and had so much breading on it soaked in grease that's all it tasted like. Could barely find the chicken inside the breading. The scallion pancakes with pork inside were ok. Could not taste the scallion in them if any. They were kind of greasy as well but the pork filling inside made up for the pancake part
Food is very good, but for the price can't afford it all the time. More expensive than other traditional places.

I tried the soup dumplings. One set shrimp & pork and chicken. I wasn't crazy about them. I've had other dumplings from them in the past that were better.
I don't know if I came in at a busy time but my food was really, really bad . The duck buns I ordered had like 3 french fry sized strips of meat all together and a lot of vegetables ,for almost 10$ for 2 duck buns I am extremely disappointed. The boba I bought was very watery , barely any flavor . My soup dumplings were slimy and personally I didn't like the pork dumplings because of that and the flavor was a bit weird . The only thing I enjoyed was the sesame balls . I also got a brown sugar dessert and it seemed to be a bit raw in the middle but I am unsure if that is how the desert is originally. Overall I was currently disappointed with my experience but I'm willing to try again . But I am very very disappointed with my almost 50$ order because I could only really eat and fully enjoy one item from the 4 I bought.
Ordered the pork and vegetable stir fried noodles for lunch, and I found a hair in my food!! Although the atmosphere was nice, and the food itself was okay, finding a hair in my food just indicates to me the low level of cleanliness in the kitchen and in the preparation of the food. Go at your own risk.
Overall, it was not a very good experience. It was so cold inside that my date and I could see our breathe. We were hysterical laughing the entire time because it was just so unbelievable. The waitress took forever to service us every time. The soup dumplings were good, but the bubble tea was disappointing. I would not recommend. It was so cold that we debated whether or not we should go somewhere else. The inside is very small and there are few tables. Save your money and go to a real restaurant.

I’ve been a loyal customer at this restaurant for quite some time, but my most recent experience was extremely disappointing. I ordered chicken wings, and they were served undercooked and unsafe to eat. When I called to report the issue, I was told that this is normal and I could not receive a refund and was instead offered dumplings as compensation. Not only was the food preparation unacceptable, but the way the situation was handled showed a complete lack of accountability. Serving raw chicken is a serious health risk, and dismissing a customer’s concern with such a minimal gesture is unacceptable.
