Gokoku in North Hollywood is an absolute gem and has become our go-to spot for comforting, flavorful vegan Japanese food. Every visit feels consistently delicious, warm, and satisfying. The edamame is perfectly seasoned, always fresh, and comes out hot and addictive, setting the tone for the meal right away. The dumplings/gyoza are wonderfully tender with a flavorful, cozy filling, and the dipping sauce balances savory and tangy just right. The Salmon Lover sushi roll is a standout: the “salmon” has great texture, the veggies are crisp, and the flavors are rich without feeling heavy. One of the best parts is that everything on the menu is vegetarian/vegan, so ordering here is completely stress-free. Their plant-based takes on Japanese classics never taste like an afterthought and are consistently amazing and lovely. The food is reliably fresh, creative, and packed with flavor, from appetizers to sushi rolls and beyond, so it works for both quick dinners and special nights out. The cozy vibe and friendly service make it a place we keep coming back to, and knowing everything is vegan just seals the deal as our favorite neighborhood spot. 5/5 – absolutely love this place.

Let me just say I loveeeee this spot! Best ramen ever! Been coming for years now. Its an hour drive from me but worth it every time. The food and service stays consistently great! Shoutout to the staff!!!for always being very welcoming. Highly recommend the Beyond Ramen! (My ramen is modified Fyi..I substitute bok choy for broccoli) Chefs kiss, I tell you. The sushi is delicious as well. The Garlic Eggplant Roll I recommend.

I absolutely love a good bowl of ramen, and as of today, this place has become my number one spot. I chose the build your own ramen, and it was incredibly delicious and full of rich, comforting flavor. The atmosphere felt intimate and beautifully lit, creating the perfect setting to enjoy our meal. The staff were genuinely sweet and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I highly recommend this ramen shop to anyone looking for a truly satisfying bowl of ramen.

Delicious and healthful food that is prepared by hand! Great service. Soft udon. Gluten-free rice noodles and broths available. I enjoyed the mushrooms! Other GF options throughout the menu, yet they were told to me by wait staff. Menu not clearly labeled GF. Tasty dishes. Fresh fruit smoothies. Rich desserts. Yum!! 😋

Awesome vegetarian Japanese place with a huge menu and plenty of Vegan options. The "make your own" Ramen allowed customization of sauce, toppings, and garnished. The appetizer selection was great. We had the spicy tofu (excellent), cauliflower wings, and the hard tofu.

This place is a mixture of authentic flavors it even makes you forget its a vegetarian restaurant. My family and I stopped by when it was completely fulled and their customer service was immediate. Hidden gem. We loved it! Definitely coming back!

I came to this ramen shop with extreme prejudice as I feel the heart of a great ramen lies in the broth. Broth is the soul of any Ramen. I was pleasantly surprised how close a vegan ramen can get. For vegetarian ramen at this price range this is pretty close to peak goodness. The flavors have depth but without any animal attribution. Thoroughly enjoyed! Thanks you.

I’ve been or took out from here quite a few times since moving into the area recently. It’s consistently amazing food, I always get the vegan teriyaki chicken bowl and a sushi roll. The bowl is delicious and satisfying while feeling light and fresh. The vegan chicken texture is so good. When I ate there last, one chef looked over the counter and was concerned that she made it too salty and kindly said she would remake it - much appreciated gesture but the food was perfect so there was no need! I love the care for quality. All of the rolls I’ve tried I’ve enjoyed, I think my favorite is the popcorn chicken roll. It’s a very generous portion of food, there’s a whole pile of little popcorn chickens on top of the roll with enough to get a couple on each roll and have plenty to snack on leftover. They are also super nice here which is always appreciated (as mentioned above). They also were excited and shared that they were on the news the morning I ate there recently. It was such a genuine moment and I wanted to congratulate them again here. I wish this place the best so I can eat here forever

We discovered Gokoku Ramen while looking for veg sushi and seeing the reviews decided to try it. Starting from a great service to our helpful Server Olivia, who suggested things we should try and then the amazing food, we were soo much in love with the place that ended up ordering from it twice more before leaving LA. Everything we ordered was amazing, potato croquettes, cauliflower wings, Inari roll, popcorn roll, philadelphia roll and mushroom ramen. Mushroom ramen was my absolute favourite.. the quantity and the taste was just perfect! Too yummy and all varieties of mushroom mentioned were put in perfect quantity. I wish they had a branch in NorCal as I will definitely miss their yummy dishes there! But anytime I’m in LA, will be eager to try more dishes on their menu. Definitely recommend to vegans & vegetarians looking to have yummy ramen and sushi

This restaurant is so great! My husband and some friends and I had a wonderful experience eating here. The atmosphere is cozy but with plenty of table space. We ordered several dishes to share and we enjoyed them all. I would highly recommend the popcorn vegan roll for sharing. We loved the sushi as well. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

It’s a small and nice place, we ordered dynamite sushi, caterpillar sushi which was so good, it was not busy when we got there,but the lady who served us gave us wrong food.. we ordered volcano sushi.. but got some other stuff , so it was same with other table too .. over all it’s a must try

We visited with two kids and are a vegan family visiting from another country. Unfortunately, it was not a great experience. The food was very oily, the staff were unfriendly, and vegetables were missing from our home udon. The restroom is located in the kitchen, which was uncomfortable. The ‘build your own ramen’ was not tasty and was left untouched. Overall, we do not recommend this place.

We ordered mushroom, garlic & jalapeño and spicy sichuan ramen bowls. Surprisingly got the exact broth even though they had different preparations. Gyoza in chilli sauce appetizer was good. Tables were rocking like a sea saw. Physical menu didn’t seem available and the online menu is not very user friendly
