My experience was very nice on this restaurant ,I made a reservation for a table...it was ready for me when i got there the food was very good tasting perfectly cooked as ordered and the portions were just perfect..the place was welcoming and they have outdoor heaters so that helps with cold weather..the service was good they were there often to ask if everything was ok, i will be returning to this restaurant...
First experience with Argentina cusine and after Malbec I'll be seeking it out more often. We ate in the back patio and the atmosphere was magical. Everyone enjoyed their entrees and I especially liked the SORRENTINOS pasta, the little bits of imported ham were like finding a meat candy surprise in your pasta, oh so good!
This place was amazing! I came here for my anniversary dinner and was blown away by how great everything we had was. I ordered a seafood fettucine pasta (forgot the name of the dish) that instantly became my favorite pasta dish ever. Ambiance was lovely, low-key elegant. Highly recommend.
This my first Argentinean restaurant, we tried the grilled octopus was great and the fried Calamari & Shrimp was outstanding, and we ordered the three steaks plate and it was special for meat lovers, we tried the Ravioli with ricotta cheese was tasty and Paella was full of flavour and cooked to the right degree, at the end the dessert sweet crepe chocolate and caramel and vanilla ice cream
Quite possibly the most delicious outside food I've had all of 2017. The salmon ceviche "cebiche" was to die for. An explosion of flavors in every bite. My mom, who doesn't eat seafood in general, especially raw fish, decided to give it a try because of the reaction I had when I dug in. She was very pleased with the taste of it. Perfect amount of citrus and sauces. I could eat that for days! The salmon con tapenade plate was also very satisfying and fulfilling. My dad ordered the Argentinean Sausage platter and the sausages were cooked to perfection. Ended our dinner with the panqueques de dulce de leche and my goodness that was heavenly. The place had a nice classy ambiance with low light, which kind of made it hard to see the menu. Our waiter Carlos was great to us and accommodated our requests. Overall great place for a date or nice dinner!
Malbec is a great place with amazing food and a great atmosphere. I usually come here only for the steaks but my wife and I mixed it up last night and tried something different as well. First we ordered the 14oz Rib Eye which is a must. It's cooked to perfection with a crispy flavorful outside and a tender and juicy inside, added the salsa Argentina on the side with the rosemary potatoes and yucca. We then the ordered Sorrentino and it was fantastic. The pasta itself was great and the cheese and ham stuffed inside was perfect because it did not overpower the dish at all and blended well with the pink sauce that came with it. I highly recommend this dish as well. We also got an order of the empanadas which is also a must here. Beef, Spicy Beef, spinach and cheese, and chicken are all extremely flavorful with a flaky crust that makes it a perfect bite. Will always keep coming back to this place.
The new tapas lunch menu is terrific! We started with cured duck breast crustini, and followed with ahi and salmon sashimi with a citrus glaze and the grilled octopus with new potatoes. The rose Prosecco and Malbec paired nicely with the three dishes. There’s indoor seating, as well as a front patio. We’ll definitely be back to try other items on the tapas menu (empanadas are high on my list), and there are plenty of more traditional options such as salads, pastas, and grilled fish/chicken/meats.
Wow! If you love steak and seafood from an authentic Argentinian restaurant and cook style...this is your stop! Wood fire grilled steaks and veggies. Can taste the smokiness and juiciness on their entraña steak I also got the paella and it was a bit of seafood in each scoop of rice with a hint of saffron...more please Their appetizers are just as delicious and very quick, organized line in back! Got chocolate mousse for dessert, good but overwhelming chocolate for me personally. Will be back to try all their menu. Waitress was very attentive and jolly, happy to be there and help us make our decisions. This type of service and quality of food is what makes Malbec unique..salud!
Superb food and service! I've lived in the surrounding area growing up, but never managed to eat here. My steak tenderloin was amazing and the grilled corn side dish is highly recommended. If you're interested in eating here, don't hesitate to visit! I only have pictures of the desserts: Dulce de leche crepes, citrus and cinnamon infused creme brulee, Argitinian bread pudding.
THE best skirt steak. Always a joy to dine here. Thanks for accommodating our pup on the patio. She loved it too. The waitstaff is always so lovely and top of things, drinks are always refilled , etc . We asked the table next to us what to get for dessert since whatever they were having looked good ! Their house Malbec is also seriously delicious. Everytime we eat here , we leave saying “we’ve gotta come here more !” Thank you for a lovely Friday night.
Had an incredible dinner at Malbec in Toluca Lake tonight! We got the tomahawk steak and it was cooked perfectly. The pasta was also out of this world. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for amazing Argentine food.
Argentina spot with a cozy vibe. Came here for dinner with my parents prior to catching a show at the Colony Theater and made a reservation online in advance. There’s street parking available. Indoor and outdoor seating available. We ordered a few things to split which included the calamari and shrimp, the mollejas, pollo a las hierbas (an extra $2 to make it spicy), and Ojo de Bife. The meat was all fantastic; everything tasted fresh and flavorful. The calamari and shrimp wasn’t too oily, and I liked the different sauces they provided for the Ojo. You can pick your choice of two sides, so we were able to try the mash potatoes, roasted vegetables, sautéed spinach, and roasted potatoes. They were all good but mash potatoes were particularly silken and creamy. For dessert, we split a crema catalana which was not too sweet and had an evenly burnt top. The vibes were cute and it’s a good spot for a small group or couples.
Went here for date night during the DineLA menu experience. My wife opted for the $55 pre fixed dine la menu while I opted for their standard menu. Interestingly enough their dine la menu is completely different than their everyday menu. Restaurant is quaint, bar is nice and space is tight. On a Friday night the house was packed to the brim. Only outdoor seating was available. Food was prepped and made with precision. The empanadas were the best. Freshly rolled dough, with delicious beef and spinach and cheese fillings! The chimichurri sauce was fresh. The pork was fall off the bone. The entrana aka skirt steak was cooked perfectly, medium rare and presented nicely with 3 sauces for dipping, with mash potatos and roasted veggies. The scallops were in their shell with a fresh apple salad. Free Parking in the back or on the street. All in all Bodega Malbec is a great place to Dine. I would come back! Very solid Argentinian steak house.
My friends took me here to celebrate my birthday and boy was it delicious. The first thing you should be aware coming here is that it's street parking so just look around. They made reservations ahead of time and for a Friday night, they were busy. When we got seated our waiter came to introduce himself and took our drinks order. For our appetizers we started off with the empanadas, we got 2 orders so we can get all the different type. They also give complimentary bread here as well. Our favorite empanadas was the beef because of the taste, the chicken had a more sweet taste to it. The ham & chesee was okay but I didn't like the spinach one. For our entrée, we all went with the Bife De Chorizo which is their 16oz NY steak. We all got it medium rare and they cooked it perfectly, the seasoning was spot on and it was very tender. I got regular fries for my side and it was crispy. We finish off the night with my ice cream in a cup and they sang happy birthday to me. The service we received was great, our waiter was attentive to us.
Bodega Malbec in Toluca Lake never disappoints! The NY Ribeye Steak Sandwich is incredibly juicy and tender, packed with flavor. The staff are always smiling and truly enjoy what they do. The warm, welcoming vibe makes every visit a great experience.

Great food. Nice service. Tasty steak, and the vegetable sides are delicious as well! The dessert is great 😌! It's not over sweet. Every ingredient inside it has different sweetness, combining together to create an amazing taste!
We had a great lunch here. Dario was a delight. Knowledgeable and entertaining. The food was delicious. We ordered steak primarily, but one person did have chicken. All of the dishes were mouth watering. Very much recommended. I will be going there again.
Authentic Argentinean flavor! Everything was excellent! We ordered Entrana a la Parrilla, Duo de Empanadas, Flan de Caramelo and one octopus dish, just forgot the name 😊. My Argentinean fiancé is really particular with food flavor because he is a good cook himself... and he was super satisfied! Service was excellent too! Chris was really accomodating and friendly. Amazing dinner!
I treated myself to a well-deserved lunch today at a new (to me) restaurant in Toluca Lake called Bodega Malbec. I ordered linguine with clams with a side of sautéed mushrooms in white wine. The pasta was made fresh, and everything was incredible. For dessert, I had flan and espresso con Leche. 😋
Great service and good food. There was a birthday party going on that amped up the noise level, but still an enjoyable time.

Outstanding ! I was introduced to Bodega Malbec at a private business event from my company. We were seated at the back patio and my experience was wonderful so I decided to give it a try with my wife. We went during dine LA week and we were seated at the front patio so happy hour was also available. Everything we had was so delicious. We had empanadas, pulpo (octopus), tuna tartar, and a steak option from dine LA. Paired it with some malbec wines....and for dessert.. argentinean panqueques (crepes)... a must..! Prices and quality of food and the variety of wines were way better than most steak houses we have been to. Service was attentive and outstanding. They are now in my favorite restaurants list. I can't wait to go back.... oh and the chimichurri sauce.. the best ..! Definitely a memorable Argentinean experience. We will come back soon ...highly recommended !
Bodega Malbec is more than just a restaurant, it’s a complete culinary experience. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding and genuinely warm. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the food exceeded our expectations in every way. We have been to many restaurants, and we can confidently say that the chef and the menu truly stand out. We felt truly cared for throughout our visit. Special thanks to Martín, the manager, and to Lucas, our server, who provided exceptional service and made our experience unforgettable. We highly recommend Bodega Malbec to anyone looking for an excellent dining experience with top-tier service. We will definitely be back.
Went here as a group holiday celebration for my work treated by our awesome boss (Hi Megan!) There were around 14 people to order and serve. I have to praise our server Lucas!! I have food allergies, and despite all the orders in our group, he was very attentive, and helpful to accommodate the allergies. The food was delicious, the vibe is great! Thank you Lucas😁👍
Really nice spot. The food exceeded expectations, the staff was attentive and welcoming, and the ambiance was perfect for a relaxed lunch. Everything felt well taken care of. Would absolutely return.

I visited Bodega Malbec during Dine LA week to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. Our server brought out appetizers at different times, and in my case, my entrée arrived before my appetizer—which I never actually received. The food itself was good, but not great, and the overall experience felt disorganized. I wouldn’t recommend this place for a group of six or more, as service seemed to struggle with timing and coordination. Parking was also difficult, though that’s to be expected in the area. Overall, while the atmosphere was nice, the service issues made it a less enjoyable experience.
Had a great meal and loved the wine list and ambiance. Food was delicious, loved the experience.
We went to this restaurant to celebrate my sons birthday. The restaurant is expensive but we didn’t mind because it was my son’s birthday. We ordered 4 steaks. Two ribeyes and 2 New York strips. I know ribeyes are normally fatty but these were very fatty. The meat was cooked well but they lacked seasoning. It’s like they just put the steaks on the grill without any salt and pepper. The wait staff was very nice. They made up for the disappointment in the lack on seasoning on the meat. If the meat had been seasoned better I would have given them a five star review.
A great steakhouse that does it right. Good service, great wine and great cuts of steak prepared impeccably. Great for a date or quiet evening
Hidden gem in Toluca Lake. Intimate setting inside and outdoors in the back patio. High quality all natural meats, no artificial ingredients and no added hormones. Parking: Street parking on Riverside on nearby subdivisions or behind buildings. Customer service: Average - Friendly but not an experience where their staff goes above and beyond. Food: Table De Chorizos + Table Mixta with ojo de bife and bife de chorizo All were amazing minus the blood sausage lol

I've come here about 3 times for happy hour and I've never wanted to stay for dinner. It's like Uber expensive and I'm always very iffy on whether I wanna risk it or not. Happy hour is ok. I've tried the cheese plate and the meat plate. They always look kinda weenie-ish lol The meat skewer things were not good at all, I didn't eat em. The servers have always seems to be busy with the empty restaurant behind us. (We sit at the bar) The wine selection is good for happy hour. The empanadas were dry and I wouldn't order them again. I think it's one of those hit or mess restaurants, but I'm not willing to gamble $30 for an entree and find out. The venue is lightly lit with music in the background, nothing too loud. It's a nice place for a first date, if you wanna shell out that much lol.
Asked 2 waiters for salt. Both said they would bring it but neither did. My daughter and I wanted to share a dinner. $3 charge for the extra plate so we could share. Other daughter asked for a glass of sparkling water. Waiter brought out large bottle and was charged for large bottle even though she didn’t want that much. Very strong smell of smoke inside. But the chef was great- food was delicious.
We visited today and had mixed feelings about the experience. The interior of the restaurant is very nice, and the staff was genuinely friendly and attentive, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the atmosphere. The frito mixto appetizer and pollo a las hierbas I ordered was bland and dry, and the sauce was overly acidic. The vegetables, however, did have good flavor and were the highlight of the dish. My wife ordered the ojo de bife ribeye steak, and for $55, it was disappointing. It lacked proper seasoning, and the only standout component of the plate was the mashed potatoes. Overall, the service and environment were great, but the food itself was quite bland and didn’t meet expectations, especially at that price point. I wish ti want to revisit the location but very likely may be a one time experience place.
I was really looking forward to visit this restaurant, and the occasion came with a birthday celebration. We were a party of 5 with booked reservations, 2 of us got the Dine LA menu, 2 got the seafood paella and my nephew got a pasta dish. The restaurant was busy and there seemed to be a shortage of servers, when the food arrived it was missing the entree of the birthday girl! Everyone waited for the 5th dish to arrive.... After waiting more than 10 minutes we had to flag the waitress and bring her to our table, after a look of surprise she apologized and ran back to bring a lukewarm dish. The paella was dry and overcooked, the pasta was bland, the steak was too well done. Maybe it was a bad night but we were all very disappointed. Three stars for the great ambiance and beautifully decorated restaurant.
They were off on Valentine's day, they way over seasoned everything(like the pepper shakers broke into the kitche), and service deep int he weeds. Usually great spot but avoid the big rush times, QC is out the window.

Thoroughly disappointing. Toughest $44 skirt steak, so loud that it was impossible to have a conversation, and our waiter was so busy that he would walk away if anyone had questions about the menu. Not going back
I'm not sure what this place is trying to be, or where they think they're located. The salmon tartar was very fishy and had to be sent back. The paella had seafood that was not of the best quality at all, and I miniscule amount of it. They charge you for literally everything. Bottom line is this place is about 3× overly priced for what it is and the portions are very small, and the quality is subpar to say the least.
