Went to Verse to celebrate my fiancés birthday and couldn’t have asked for a better night. Our server, Jay was super chill and helpful! He told us about the cool facts about the restaurant and chef. From the moment we walked in, we just felt the good vibes. They had good live music as well! The food and drinks were amazing! 10/10! For drinks we got the espresso martini and the “Pancho” For food, we ordered the milk buns, pork belly risotto, Australian wagyu, side of roasted corn. Left some room for dessert and ordered the cookies and cream! Highly recommend making a reservation. Will definitely be coming back!
What a lovely evening. Every person you encounter is super attentive and friendly, especially our server Alvin. The food is fantastic. Milk buns are a must. The band is great and very sweet, playing happy birthday when my dessert came out. Great acoustics-We were right next to the band and could still hear our conversation. And when the band isn’t on, they play 90s/00s bangers. A really unique and enjoyable place.
One of the most memorable restaurants I’ve visited this year. It’s the perfect place for an anniversary or any special occasion. At first, I couldn’t find the entrance because there was no sign, but once I stepped inside, it felt like entering a completely different world — and that feeling alone was exciting. The live music added to the atmosphere, and since the owner is a sound engineer, you can tell they put a lot of thought into the restaurant’s acoustics. There was so much to see and enjoy that it was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Every dish, from the appetizers to the main courses, was absolutely delicious and satisfying.
What a great find!!! Went to Verse for a birthday dinner on Friday and it was absolutely lovely. I had the pork belly risotto and my husband had the wagyu fillet and both were delicious. And the reviews do not lie about the hokkaido milk buns! I had seen the positive reviews and was a bit skeptical that bread could be this good, but yummm, they lived up to the hype! They’re so good that you don’t need anything to eat them with but they do come paired with an amazing homemade maple butter. High marks for service! Everyone we interacted with was so helpful and nice and they went out of their way to make sure we had a great dinner. Overall a great experience! Looking forward to going back soon.
This is the perfect place for a special occasion; the food is amazing, all the flavors blend together perfectly. The cocktails are also excellently crafted, and the jazz music in the background is a great accompaniment to the experience. I highly recommend this place.
Highly recommend coming here. The live performances really made the vibe. Great food and service! We had a reservation so there was no wait but I'm sure those without had to wait. I was able to find street parking for free only a five min walk away. Don't waste your money with valet unless you absolutely can't walk.
Absolutely outstanding experience at Verse LA. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is welcoming, stylish, and thoughtfully curated. The service is top-tier—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly without ever feeling rushed. Everything is executed with care and professionalism, and it really shows. Verse LA delivers on quality, consistency, and overall experience. It’s clear they take pride in what they do, and it sets them apart. Highly recommended—I’ll definitely be coming back again and bringing more friends and family here as well.
Amazing experience and service! Everyone (Antonio, Demita, Diego, Angela, chefs, bartender, host, etc.) was outstanding and an absolute pleasure. The starters, main course, dessert, wine were all superb. With short notice reservations, they still took the time to give us a special surprise tour, wine, and dessert for our anniversary. I can't stop telling people how wonderful our experience at Verse was. From entering the restaurant and stepping into a mood, a vibe, with music you can't help but move to, smells you can't help but want more of, the perfect sound at every point in the room, delectable flavors...everything was just divine. We had the Hokkaido milk buns, crudo, peruvian scallops, and apple salad to start. All fantastic! I loved the salad so much I would have also ordered it for dessert. For our main course, we had the roasted corn (damn good corn), gluten free crab risotto, and pork belly risotto. Wow! For dessert, we had the guava sorbet with berries and mint (plus another dessert and a yummy Riesling with a surprise tour and special table for the two of us to celebrate our special evening!). I couldn't pick a favorite. It was all a delight for the eyes and mouth. The surprise tour was icing on the cake. Learned more about the sound studio that is the restaurant and all the special touches in the kitchen that make many of the dishes so special. But the people are what make the place so special. The attention they put into everything was impressive and how kind and welcoming everyone is even in the back kitchen made quite the impression. Can't wait to go back, even with an hour drive to get there from where we live is so worth it! Thank you, Verse, for a memorable anniversary!
LOVED my first experience front row on a busy friday evening!! With every table seated, live music and many conversations surrounding my table, I was pleased I could peacefully carry on a conversation with my guest. Let's talk food-- WOW! I ordered two entrees because I'd regret not trying both. Espresso & Apple Martini-- to die for. Short ribs-- must order & another to-go! Dessert-- a light guayaba sorbet to round out such a savory meal was VERY well planned by the Chef! 100% returning. Reservations HIGHLY recommended.
This place is special. The service makes you feel famous. The food tasted amazing and came out fast. The live music was lovely and just the right volume.
This was a great experience to eat at for my birthday during game 7 of the Dodgers World series No TVs but every dude had his phone out at his table The Jazz band is incredible and the food is just amazing, truly worth the fancy experience
We love this place so much! Nice drinks and food, good music and vibe, and super considerate service. Recommend the oyster, very fresh! Everything is just perfect!
A gem hidden in plain sight. From the moment you step inside the energy grabs you. The drinks are well thought out and executed. Live jazz music keeps the vibes going. The food really is the highlight of everything.
Went here on a Saturday night for dinner, and it's an awesome venue. The vibe, aesthetics, service, and food was top notch. They also have live music, which was so complimentary to everything else. We were also advised by our server that it used to be a music production studio, and a lot of the sound equipment remains, so the quality of the sound throughout was impeccable.
This is our go to place for our monthly date night. We almost always get our favorite server Drew. The milk buns are to die for. Minimum 2 orders of it every time (3 if we have more room). The pork belly risotto is AMAZING. The croquettes, the mushroom linguini, the fried yucca, the beans, etc etc etc… honestly, everything on the menu is above and beyond. The manager (I believe his name is Matt) is also kind and delightful. The atmosphere is 10/10. Absolutely love this place.
My husband took me here for my birthday this last Friday and it was so awesome. We both love some good Jazz music and this place delivered. They only play about 10-15 minute sets at a time and then take about a 20 minute break. You might hear 2-3 sets while you are there. The acoustics are really great in there too. We were right by the band(like literally, right there) and I can still have a normal conversation. that’s a plus for sure. The food was stellar as well. We got the Wagyu tartare, the duck breast and the braised lamb and pasta. Oh my god, the pasta and lamb dish was absolutely out of this world. I would highly recommend this place for a date night or a nice outing with friends.

The etxebarri beef chop (a ribeye, is what the server explained) was executed so perfectly, I’ve never had a better steak. It came rare, but it melted in your mouth. Perfect on its own with just the Murray River salt, but it was accompanied by an amazing Bordelaise sauce with bone marrow that I wanted to take home with me…I wanted to spoon that sauce over everything! Ambience is cozy, avoid the two tables that are right next to where all the servers come in and out of the kitchen, especially when sitting facing them - that’s all you see. Hard to turn to the left to view the music. But all the other seats seemed fine.

Wow ! I haven't felt this kind of high-end taste for a long time. Professionalism down to the details will earn everyone's respect. Verse in North Hollywood is a standout dining and entertainment venue that masterfully blends gourmet cuisine with an immersive live music experience. The menu, curated by Chef Oscar Torres, offers a refined selection of dishes, from fresh seafood to expertly cooked steaks, all complemented by a well-crafted cocktail list. The acoustics, designed by Grammy-winning mixer Manny Marroquin, create an unparalleled atmosphere, making every live performance a treat for audiophiles. Whether you’re there for an intimate dinner or a lively night out, Verse delivers on both ambiance and quality. A must-visit for food and music lovers alike. I also found so many nice BGMs that are used in the restaurant. Great taste.

One of the best restaurants in LA. It has a great vibe and the food is just phenomenal. The duck was delightful and the cookies and cream dessert was absolutely to die for! It’s worth the trek from the west side - you’ll need a reservation for sure, thought. Milk buns are a must order as well. One note is that the restaurant is a bit of the loud side (live music too!), which some people might enjoy but others might find less desirable.

I was initially introduced to Verse by complete happenstance while dining there last Fall, but when my husband asked where we should go to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary, it was an immediate, obvious (and truly the most perfectly appropriate) choice. Even with the limited information I selectively provided my husband with (have to keep some mystery in a marriage,) it took no coercion when inviting him to co-Verse with me. Music being the initial catalyst for our connection, it was almost mandatory that we reinvent our initial industry-induced meet-cute into last night's "meat-cute," (cue 30-day-aged tomahawk to enter this chat....) The food was fab from starter-to-finish, and although surrounded by sound- we didn't feel as if we were being consumed ourselves, auditorily. The carefully-curated venue gave us the freedom to maintain an uninterrupted conversation whilst still being able to appreciate the song-filled atmosphere, clearly. The food, live music and overall hospitality (and thoughtful personalization) made this celebratory dining experience exceptionally memorable. There was no separation when it came to the various components that comprise the hospitality industry. Verse is composed of individuals that willingly choose to provide each of their guests with a truly memorable evening, on the daily, in an incredibly harmonious way. Thank you to all involved in making this nothing other than a "UNI-Verse" in the most literal (and lyrical,) way. Look no further next time you're in need of unique Din-spiration.
TLDR: 5/5 - Heartbreak feels good in a place like this. The food was sensational, the service was in the nines, the ambiance was lux. I simply don't know where to go from here. Ordered: Apps - Milk Buns: 4.2/5 - I feel like these are a crowd pleaser, which is great! Against the rest of the menu they sort of felt out of place to me but I am glad it was different than just regular bread rolls. - Croquettes: 5/5 - These reminded me of abuela's tamales wrapped up in a little ball. The flavor was amazing, so well balanced with heat, saltiness and savory. Really good. - Kale Sprouts: 5/5 - Big kale and brussel girl. So when a place does them right, its hard not to want to share and get your own bowl. Don't leave without ordering this. - Octopus: 4.3/5 - You know I don't know much about Octopus but I will say this was extremely tender. I think it also came with some kind of potato that was amazing?? - Apple Salad: 4/5 - Light, fresh and crispy. A great palette cleanser - Yellowtail Crudo: 5/5 - This is my new gold standard of what Yellowtail crudo should be. It was stupidly fresh, zesty, tart, basking in this sauce that was drinkable but alas, I had to have some decorum. Roasted Potatoes: 3.8/5 - Personally I don't think truffle is ever done right however I do think this was done the best than most I've had in some time. With that said they were just okay. I think they'd be a big hit for the table especially with the cheese - Tuna Toastado Sashimi: 4.7/5 - This was fun! Who would've thought whipped sweet potato would pair with tuna sashimi. Great balance. The fresh-fried tortilla chips took it over the edge Main - Branzino: 4.8/5 - This was served with a peanut mole and sweet potato bruleed. The fish, on its own, lacks flavor, which is where the mole comes in, but it could've benefited from more mole or perhaps just a pinch of seasoning on top. With that said the fish was cooked beautifully. If you don't like skin this isn't for you. To bruelee sweet potato is genius. - Roasted Carrots: 4.5/5 - A proper rabbit carrot which I love. Had a good bite to it too. I personally loved the slight acidity on this. - Roasted Broccolini: 4/5 - Amongst the giants on the table these were perfectly okay. Great for anyone who just needs a vegetable. - Roasted Corn: 5/5 - Woah, final boss for corn lovers. Its a little bit of work to discover but once you taste it? Imagine almost an elote street corn without the fixings but with all the similar flavors? Its a shame I didn't have more. Dessert: - Olive Cake: 4/5 - Small for the price but it was nice. Light on the stomach after some heavier entrees. - Chocolate Cake with Miso Ice Cream: 5/5 - It was the miso ice cream that took (over) the cake for me. We as americans are only just discovering the multitude of what miso can do and this is one of them. Salt and Straw hates to know they didn't do it first.
Went here for an anniversary, it was beyond what we expected. This is coming from college kids’/early 20’s perspective if that helps (I’ll get to later). First, the vibes were amazing going in. With the building being so inconspicuous from the outside, going in felt like a whole different world, and as my girlfriend said, “It’s like I’m in La La Land”. The band was absolutely amazing and the acoustics of the restaurant were top-notch given the history of it and the owner. The food was also very nice. Having a kind of big appetite, altogether (starters and main) really made me full to my surprise, same goes for my girlfriend. Service was amazing, our waiter was so kind and made the whole occasion even more special. After eating we just chilled there too for like an hour watching and hearing the band play. Now, I mentioned being college kids and whatnot because, honestly, it first deterred me when I was researching the place because I thought it’d be so expensive given what they have to offer, but with what me and my girlfriend ordered (2 starters, 2 mains), it actually stayed under my budget for it before tips. It was literally like 75 per person before tips. That was amazing given the experience and everything. It might seem a lot, still, but for occasions like this, it’s beyond worth it. So if you’re just like us and want something really fancy and entertaining but not something that’ll break the bank, this place is the place to go.
Food is a bit pricey for the portions, but it’s LA 🤷🏾♂️. Perfect spot for a date with your lady, not a girl you’re just dating. Jazz sets are always great. Best bread and butter convo I’ve ever had. Better than Texas Roadhouse 🤣 super sexy spot. I actually prefer it more than blue note.
The atmosphere is awesome here. A sexy but lively jazz supper club. We loved our cocktails, food was great, and service was very good. We were seated right by the quartet and the sound quality and acoustics were next level. After dinner we were even taken on a short tour in the kitchen and a sound booth and were treated to champagne. Love this place!
Overall, the experience was quite magical. The atmosphere is moody, exclusive, and all without trying too hard. The raspberry beret was a perfect cocktail, fruity, strong, not overly sweet. The apple salad was perfectly balanced and the texture of the apple slivers was dreamy. I had the lobster tagliatelle and it was scrumptious but I did find myself wanting more lobster. My date’s New York steak was a bit tough and the beans were over-seasoned and there could’ve been twice as many plantains on that dish, but I’d still say the plate was an 8/10. I loved the oyster mushrooms! My date thought they tasted like seasoned rubber bands so I guess it’s all a matter of preference. The olive oil cake was a slam dunk. Light, yet delectable. Service was exemplary. I’d go back.
