The food is always great. Good portion sizes for cost. The customer service was great also. The shades were up and our waitress came and asked if we would like them closed because the sun would hit us soon. She then came around later to close the other blinds that were also shining in our area. The atmosphere is a little rustic to have a cabin kind of feel. The menus are made to look like newspaper. Very cute.

Black Bear Diner in Menifee was amazing in hosting our Riverside Alliance event! Juan, the GM, planned ahead and ensured everything ran smoothly. Our server, Valerie, was outstanding—friendly, fast, and accurate with every order. Excellent service and great hospitality! Highly recommend dining or hosting your next event here!

Hi. My name is Marvin and I started coming here in last few months. I live in Perris and I was a regular at Gus Jr when their overall service has not been great. I usually come for breakfast sometimes for dinner and each visit I get a warm welcome and I love the authentic loving feeling when I’m there. Food is great. Sometime I get adventurous and order the Grizz size meal and like the bear say I’m full full full 😂😂😂. Whenever I can afford to eat out I come here mainly for breakfast lunch or dinner.

Great place. Much better than the one I went to years ago in Arvin, Ca. Bill was about the same as IHOP. The two of us with coffee was 42. The coffee was very good. I had waffle, eggs and sausage. Other guest had build ur own omelet. Very good breakfast and for the Sun City area because of retired seniors, probably a little higher priced than I would have guessed. But I noticed all ages, kids and families so probably come from surrounding areas which are growing with development.

Our first time at a Black Bear Diner and it was good! The food was fresh, hot and delicious (especially the waffles ). Our waitress was nice and attentive, we went around 12-1pm on a Thursday so it was busy but we were seated right away and found parking easily. I loved the souvenir store in the entrance with so many cute items. Our food was brought out in a timely manner, recommend to try the hot Italian sausage patty. We will be coming back with our family again.

We went to the Black Bear Diner for the first time in Menifee, but not our first time to this place. We came for breakfast around 930-10am. We were quick to get seated, but it seemed like forever for someone to take our order. We came with over an hour to spare, but apparently, they sent two waiters to break, and another guy was covering for them both. That meant he was super busy while we waited patiently for him to come take our order. We were contemplating leaving... until he showed back up to help. He quickly took our order and said he would rush our food in before the big group would get theirs in (we didn't ask). Sure enough, our food came out pretty quick and was great. Food was a little on the high side, but the food quality and quantity totally justified the cost.

We discovered this place when we happened to be driving by the area. This place is kind of tucked away before the freeway. The inside aesthetic is pretty cool, loads of bears, hot sauce, and a menu that walks you thru the history of the diner. We were immediately taken care of and the waitress gave us a couple of recommendations including the huckleberry lemonade which was delicious. We also ordered one of the malted shakes which was also flavorful. We ordered fish and chips and the Ruben sandwich for lunch. The fish and chips were cooked perfectly, the Ruben was not bad but very very greasy. The prices were very reasonable (especially considering how bad things are priced lately), and they have tons of specials we’re going to come back and check. If you like mellow diners with a bear theme, good prices, and good food check this place out!

Friday2-13-26 the food and atmosphere is good but the service was really lacking. A different person brought the food out,forgot the bear claw and when it was brought out it was the wrong one and not toofresh..they should have corrected that. Did not. 43 dollars for the fish and chips,a bear claw,one coffe,one hot tea.. service definitely needs to improve.we should have gotten the danish for free for all the trouble.and it should have been warmed up. Plus the server got a 20 percent tip.. when you are a server you need to be on top of it…if it’s not make it right…

This place is hit and miss. Sometimes I place an order and when I get it it's wonderful. Other times I place an order for the exact same items but days or weeks later and it's completely not good.... Last time I placed an order it was supposed to arrive at a set time but then it got delayed 10 minutes. My driver was there waiting to pick it up and then it got delayed another 10 minutes, and then another 10 minutes. By time I got it The Omelette was Stone Cold and the fruit and the sandwich was warm. I just don't understand how one day it's great and the next day it's blah blah. .

We've been here multiple times and normally the food is always good, but today we had a new server, which really wasn't the problem because everyone had to start somewhere so I'm not upset with him, but I am upset that or good wasn't hot and my wife and her mother each ordered the pot pie which actually was hot but the first pot pie came 15 mins after everybody else's food, (There were 5 of us) And then the second pot pie came 10mins after the first one. Most of us were pretty much done with our meals. And the other thing that irked me is that I usually considered this place a cut above Denny's or the other mediocre chains until my fake scrambled eggs showed up. Usually at Denny's and those other places, I specify that I want real eggs and obviously I should have done that here too. That alone makes the place 1 star less.

We ordered a lot of food at this place and this is only our second time being at this particular black bear restaurant, the soup was a bland taste It really didn't have any flavor and almost made me think it was out of a can and just warmed up. I would think that the server that we had had a lot of big tables. When you have lots of big tables you can't get back around quick enough to all the tables. That is no fault to her that is a manager thing not having enough staff to take care of orders. We were allowed to use our military discount to take some money off the bill. The food was delicious I would not order the soup again and basically from the The pictures that I'm showing you have to make your own opinion. This was after 1:00 and before 4:00 so it really in my opinion was not that busy. We were allowed to found a parking space. This place has terrible parking. It is hard to get into during the breakfast and lunch and dinner crowd due to the fact you can't find a parking spot. And since the other places got so mad and cut their areas off for parking You can only park in front of black bear restaurant.

This was our first time coming to The Black Bear location in Menifee. We usually go to the one in Moreno Valley but since we moved the Menifee location is closer to us and we decided to save the drive and try this location out. The welcoming was very warming and we waited for less than 10 min to get our table which was nice. My Babies ordered from the kids meal and they enjoyed their breakfast. Me and my husband ordered the steak and eggs w/ hash browns. I requested for my hash brown to be loaded (bacon and cheese on top) waitress stated they don't do that. Which is weird because I have ordered them like that in the Moreno Valley location w/ no problem. We waited over 40 min to get our food and we also saw other parties that got there after us get their food first which was a upsetting. When the food came the eggs and hash browns were cold. I didn't mention it to the waitress because I was so hungry and I had waited a while to get my food already. In conclusion, we will be making the the extra drive and be going to the Moreno Valley location instead.

Although it was just our second time here, the host (Juli) as well as the waitress (Kayla) remembered us from our first visit just a little over a month ago . A dear friend who apparently is a regular recommended this place , this person speaks very well of the restaurant and staff. The food again was delicious. Made to perfection. There was no wait time Unfortunately our visit ended with a sour taste. The total bill came to $50 even I provided a $40 gift card which for some Wi-Fi issue after showing funds available did not clear . The host then proceeded to ask for help from the manager (Nicole) . Who with a very unpleasant attitude needed to call her boss and get the OK on what to do. Yes this phone call was made in the check-in area in front of other clients. She then asked Juli to go ahead and clear the bill with the note "Client satisfaction" And commented I am not signing that ***this is all your mess. She then comments ... If the credit does not go through, I am gonna have to pay the $40 staring straight at my son and I. The way this manager spoke to that poor young lady was very disappointing. I asked to please go ahead and charge me the full amount and I will worry about the gift card in the future. She then yells at the host and says don't you dare charge her! Again with a very unpleasant attitude . Needless to say it does not matter how much the bill was..... it was paid for . Unfortunately, the customer service received from the "manager" and the way the staff was treated was disappointing and unprofessional. No manager should speak to anybody like that especially in front of customers. Let alone complain about her having to pay the $40 if the credit didn't go through. For a 10-year-old to comment that the manager didn't have her coffee in the morning should have a lot to say. I hope this review can help make some changes in the way your staff is treated.

To start our server was ina big hurry to answer our questions, after we asked about the portions she claimed HUGE portions and to our surprise small amount no refills on our coffee or drinks. Dry pancakes and overall bad service she was in to much in a hurry to wait on us. Stinks second time we try it and same bad service and two different locations.

Flies flies flies The food was delicious but we could not stay at the restaurant to eat it because there were so many flies it was awful we killed three flies and there were many more buzzing landing on our food on our arms on the table flying and buzzing in the window. It really detracted from enjoying the meal. I want to include a photo I'm just figuring out how I need to add one it's awful they need to deal with the Flies Eat at Black Bear Diner in Menifee at your own risk Nori was our waitress and she was amazing! She has great energy and an infectious smile when she makes you feel like you are family and belong there. *******UPDATE********** I sent an email to the email address listed in the reply from Black Bear Diner but to date I have not gotten a response back or any acknowledgment of the email or anything. This is concerning to me, because I had hoped they would jump right on taking care of this problem with all of those flies inside the restaurant it's extremely disgusting, no one wants to eat with flies landing on their food or on their person. I will keep this review updated as to the progress with regard to #BlackBearDiner
