Opinions de Mad For Chicken Sunnyside
Visited Mad for Chicken in Sunnyside last Sunday for an influencer event and had a great experience overall. It was our first time at this location and the atmosphere was lively with a live DJ and lots of people networking while enjoying the food. We started with the kimchi veggie dumplings with the half spicy sauce. They were flavorful, well cooked, and surprisingly filling. We also tried the bulgogi tteokbokki japchae which was an easy standout. The portion was generous and the flavors were bold and really satisfying. For our main, we ordered the individual chicken combo and chose the spicy soy garlic wings. The chicken was crispy and packed with flavor. We added truffle fries on the side along with their chicken dipping sauce which paired perfectly with the meal. Service throughout the event was friendly and organized, and the overall vibe made it a fun place to spend the evening. Between the music, the food, and the energy in the room, it was a really enjoyable experience.
Mad for Chicken in Sunnyside is a fun, casual spot with seating both at street level and in the basement. The interiors have a rustic, warm pub-style feel. Hard to miss the two huge statement light fixtures on the ceiling that really stand out and add character to the space. They have a solid selection of beers on draft, including non-alcoholic options, which is a nice touch. It’s also a great place to watch sports, with plenty of TVs positioned around the space so you can catch a game from almost anywhere. The bowls are my favorite — both the veggie bowls, vegetarian chicken, and chicken bowls are flavorful and filling. The wings are good and come in a variety of flavors, though they’re very large, so come hungry or be ready to share. Overall, a reliable neighborhood spot for casual food, and drinks.
If you are a lover of beer and fried chicken then this place is golden. We recommend getting mixed wings and drumsticks, as well as kimchi fried rice. There’s just something so special about the mix of refreshing cold beer and the comfort of fried chicken. On a good day this is good, on a bad day it’s good as well. Fried chicken all day everyday
Mad for Chicken is a whole vibe. Crispy, flavorful Korean fried chicken, great music, and a cool, high-energy atmosphere. Amazing service and an easy go-to spot—I’ll definitely be back
I’ve been to Mad for Chicken in Sunnyside a few times now, and it has never disappointed. The vibe, the atmosphere, and the service are consistently great, you really couldn’t ask for better. If you’re looking for a calm and quiet spot, this might not be for you. But if you want to hang out with friends, talk, enjoy good food and drinks, and just vibe, this is the place. It is noisy, but in a lively, fun way; not disturbing at all. Also, they offer a Halal menu here (not available at every branch), which is a huge plus. Definitely one of my favorite spots in the area!
All the food was amazing! We even asked them to cook tteokbokki without rice cakes, and they happily accommodated us. Our server, Mizael , was wonderful. so nice and generous. The food came out a little late, but his excellent service and the taste of the dishes made up for it. Everything was truly fantastic!
Mad For Chicken – Seriously Addictive! If you’re anywhere near Sunnyside, do yourself a favor and stop by Mad For Chicken. I finally went, and wow… I’m mad I didn’t go sooner! Let’s start with the fries – loaded kimchi fries that hit all the right notes. Crispy, saucy, a little spicy, and packed with flavor. Honestly, I could’ve eaten a tray of those by myself and been happy. Next up: the seafood boil. This thing was stacked with crab legs, shrimp, ramen, corn – all soaked in that deliciously seasoned broth. It’s like a seafood boil and a noodle dish had a glorious baby. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. And of course, the chicken – because how can you come here and not try it? We got two flavors, and both were so good. Crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and coated in their signature sauces. Sweet, spicy, sticky goodness. That little cup of pickled radish on the side? A total game changer between bites. The vibe in the spot is super chill, perfect for a hangout with friends or a casual date night. The staff was friendly and quick, even with a busy crowd. Bottom line: Mad For Chicken Sunnyside is a must. Come hungry. You’re gonna leave full and happy.
Was here for my birthday party and I love it so much!! The chicken was amazing and the crab leg was fresh, we pick garlic sauce for the seafood and it was not so garlicky like everywhere else so I would love to come back again love this place. Forgetting to count how many rounds of ordering that avocado salad cuz it was so fresh and I have no complaints fo that again fresh food win my heart I gave you a 5 starrr!!
I visited with my husband on a Monday, around 2 pm and it was not busy at all. We were seated right away. The server was friendly. We ordered the dumplings as an appetizer. He ordered the wings and drumsticks, which he loved. I ordered the beef bulgogi, mild which was absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend this location, especially on a weekday around lunchtime.
Went there with my co workers and had a great time. Great atmosphere for hanging out and good food and drinks available with even better service. Although we waited for over 30 mins the staff really looked after us and it was worth the wait in the end. We ordered the spicy fried wings and the drumsticks, both were amazing. The taste the crunch the sauce everything was on spot. We also ordered buffalo wings which was really good. The best item from the menu was the fries. It was made freshly and you can tell when the fries are made fresh. The quantity is really good so you can easily share 1 fries among 2 or even 3 people. Overall had a great time.
A great place for Korean fried chicken and drinks! The menu had a lot to pick from, both from a meal perspective and drink selection. Nachos where tasty, a good portion, and had a lot of flavor on them, I just wish they arrived warmer, this dish was lukewarm to a little cool in places. The sweet potato fries were good but would have been tastier, not sure why I wasn’t crazy about them but was definitely disappointed a bit. With all that said the chicken was delicious. It was juicy, good portions, had had great flavor. It wasn’t drenched in sauce but had enough that made the wings tasty without overpowering them. The scallion ones we had where especially good, it added a bit of fresh greenery burst to the flavors that really went together well. Overall I had a great time. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the wings, even though the appetizers were a let down.
Great happy hr for food and drinks. Sat at the bar, had pretty good service from the bartender. Food was fresh and hot, chicken strips were a bit overdone, that’s why they look more like wings. For some reason I found the spicy soy flavor to be not as spicy as I’m used to from this chain. Clean and cozy interior. I had two of the cocktails- the lychee and punch. Both a bit on the sweeter side.
Food here is usually great. Love there Mad combo with wings and drums half and half. It was good this days too. Staff is great as well. Order Mad Nachos ($18) and they offered us the $20 combo with a pitcher of beer. It looked good on the outside but honestly wish they had put my toppings in every layer. Half way through there was only plain chips left. As a suggestion they should layer in the toppings so it doesnt feel like their skimping. Love this place otherwise.
We came for Happy Hour, and it's honestly a great deal. I wouldn't say it's my favorite fried chicken place. It was pretty standard through and through. The service was very good and the staff were all super nice. The drinks were so good. Our favorite was the mad punch on the happy hour menu. It was sweet. I highly recommend the bulgogi quesadilla. It's so good and unique. The bulgogi burger, too, was pretty darn juicy and flavorful. The place is a very relaxed, chill, and casual vibe. It's great for groups and large hangout spots since there is so many seating.
Food is amazing but they always wait until after you arrive to prepare your order so ordering ahead to save time does not really work here when doing take out.
Loved the food, it’s great. I’ll give them that. However, this time we dined in and they sent out our orders 10 MINUTES A PART! I rarely give a sub par review or complain to a manager but I was tempted to this time. The people next to us got theirs together and there were more of them. The server/bus boy was very helpful and I wish I gave the entire tip to him in cash. I mean when you see people eating together especially if it looks like a couple which it was (& on our anniversary to top it off) you don’t bring orders out that far apart. This has NEVER Happened before. I could see bring something and coming right back but 10 MINUTES! C’mon. That’s stuff Gordon Ramsey shuts places down for on his show. Maybe you want to appeal to a younger demographic and cater to them, but all your patrons should be having the same experience. Plus common sense would dictate that the old school people will take care of the servers better.
This place is a one and done for us. We came in today around 11:30 in the morning. Place was empty with one customer at the bar. We were greeted and seated right away. Waiter took our order: fries, kid mac and cheese, mad nachos & wings. The first food that came out was the fries, after maybe 20 minutes after we ordered. After that, we waited almost ONE HOUR for the rest of the food to come out… The wings were ok, the size were big for sure but the flavors were not the best. As for the nachos, we were super disappointed. $20 for a dollop of guac, tomatoes, corn, jalapeños with NO meat at all. No ground beef, no “el pollo,” nothing. Don’t let my pictures fool you, it looked really good for us too until we ate it. There was no taste at all and it was mostly chips. It was not worth the money. Super disappointed and we wasted our time waiting.
We got 2 seafood boil combos and they got our order wrong - mixing up the mild and the medium sauces and forgetting to add ramen that took another 15-20 min to come out. There were no plastic bibs and we were missing some tools to help with eating the seafood. It overall missed the mark unfortunately.
I came here for three ayce seafood boil & korean fried chicken wings and man was i disappointed 😞 it actually started off good with the $3 drinks! I had a lychee sake that was pretty okay 👍 then the food came, I was excited for the snow crab legs, but it was NOT good. I think it was just frozen, not fresh at all, super hard to eat. It didnt just came out like a fresh crab leg would. The baby clams were so small that I needed a microscope to see and it wasn't clean. The dirt in them almost broke my tooth! The korean fried chicken was so heavily breaded, there was like no chicken. It was dry and cold at that! When it came to the table, it felt like they gave me yesterday's leftover chicken that has been left out for an hour. The only good thing I enjoyed was the eggs, salad and carbs (rice cakes and ramen) and even the fries were cold. Our waitress was super nice and sweet, so that saved my experience but I would NEVER come back for the food. I would come to drink though! I guess you get what you pay for, it was an inexpensive buffet and it showed.
