Incredible food!!! So many amazing options and all of them had amazing flavor! This place is a MUST GO! You will not regret it!!!!
The samosa is too good and delicious, and healthy. I feel, it is best in bay area. Cashier is also nice. she looks after each and every customer, answer them politely and boost the business..
Delhiwala Chaat offers a really great chaat experience. There's so many options for chaat from Pani puri to samosa chaat, in addition to parathas, bhaturas, and pakoras. They had outdoor dining when we went but it's in a shaded area with a fair amount of seating. Heavenly flavors in the samosa Chaat that I got, and the masala chai was quite good too. I'll be coming here more often for chaat!
Where to even start. Everything we ate here was 5/5, beginning with: Dahi Papdi Chaat, Dahi Batata Sev Puri, Chole Bhature w/ Paneer stuffing, Mix Pakora, Aloo Tikki Chaat w/ Chole. Vada Pav was the only exception, to which I would rate it 3/5. I didn’t try the bread pakora that is featured in the video and some of the other items mentioned above aren’t in the video 😅, we were still waiting for them. We dined in, after entering you find a table and place your order via a QR code and then wait for your name to be called to go pick it up. Food came quick despite having a fairly large order. After eating, you clear your own table. Pretty straightforward and self serve but the food hits the spot! Highly recommend.
So I'm a British Punjabi and was passing through Sunnyvale today and came across this gem. By far the best Mango Lassi I've had in the country. And the chaat was the BOMB! Definitely coming back next time I'm in town! 5* for sure! Oh and the Tea reminded me of what you get back in Punjab!
Hands down to their Chole-Bhature, I can vouch those are second to none. You may find chole bhature at many places, but the chole served here are truly the best. Besides this, the starters cum snacks cuisines like dahi sev puri also deserve an applaud. This place is liked by me, my friends, their friends and so on. We all go there to have brunch on Saturdays. My all time order is *Paneer chole bhature *Dahi sev puri (the best)
Raj Kachori here is very good😇 Very good place for trying out different chaats. The staff was very friendly in nature and the best thing about the restaurant is that they have seating and heaters outside the restaurant which serves as a great place for hanging out in Winter.
I have been a regular at Delhiwala chaat truck for 2 years now. I was so glad to see this restaurant by the same people. The food is so good here. Chole-Bhature, Dahi sev poori and pao bhaji is a MUST try here. They have started few new items in the restaurant like parathas and Vada pao. This place is clean, spacious. The service is fast. This is a place I recommend to all who want to try authentic Indian chaat items. Tasty and reasonably priced food.
Searching for the best Chole Bhature in south bay area brought me to Delhiwala Chaat and my wife and I couldn’t be happier. Among other options in the region, this one is hands down the best. We tried the paneer stuffed bhature and it did bring back some memories of having Chole Bhature back in Delhi. Also tried the Bhalle Papdi Chaat and it was also made quite well. Would definitely recommend to try this place out and if possible have it there itself rather than a takeout. The joy of tearing into a fluffy bhatura cannot be matched by doing a takeout.
My cousin recommended this place to me while I was visiting them in the area. I got the dahi papdi chaat which was fantastic. Full of flavor and a good portion. Also tried a chole chaat, which my boyfriend enjoyed because he doesn’t do dairy! He liked it. I tried it and thought it was decent. We also tried the bhel, which was my least favorite but still good.
Delhiwala chaat restaurant is a great place for Indian chaat, I have been coming here frequently and the food is always delicious. The items are priced right and a great place to come with friends and share multiple dishes. My favorite is dahi batata sev puri, vada pav and chole bhature.
I visited my friend in Sunnyvale and they offered me samosa and bread pakora ( which they took out from this place) with tea ( the tea was home made). The fried goodies were all hot and fresh, and very tasty. The chutneys ( green churned and tamarind one) were thick and fresh. I loved the food and highly recommend the place.
This restaurant is located in Sunnyvale near Spruce Apartment community. There is inside and outdoor seating. There is a lot of parking as well. We ordered the bread pakora, sev puri, chole batture and vada pav. All food was really delicious. I really loved the cholle . It was one the best cholle baaji that I have tried in US. The bread pakora was perfectly crispy in the outside and the potato filling inside was really delicious and well seasoned. The sev puri filling was amazing and our was well complemented by the sweet tangy tamarind sauce and the fresh herby mint sauce. The batata vada filling was crispy pressure and the potato filling was delicious. Overall the dining experience was great.
One of the best chole bhature. We tried both paneer bhature and regular. Paneer one was really well made, fluffy with right amount of paneer filling. Masala chai was great as well. Service was quick. Spacious restaurant. Gulab jamin we ordered was cold, I was hoping they warmed it up. Service a bit slow given how busy they are, but polite staff.
As a die-hard chole bhature fan, I can vouch for their food! Bhature are soft, large, and perfectly cooked. Chole has a great colour as you would expect and they serve it with pickle, onions and green chillies. I tried it with plain sweet lassi and it was SO good. It was extremely thick and with the right amount of sweetness. Chole Bhature + Plain Sweet Lassi costed me ~ $20! A good deal :)
Love the food! If you want to eat chole bhatoore which are light and not dripping oil, this is the place to go. This time I tried aloo paratha too and loved it. Aloo paratha was exactly how I make at home ( I make smaller versions of same ) with lot of potatoes and less wheat dough. Gulab jamun were too good. Paneer parathas was yummy too. My friends visiting from another state, had chaats and they were amazed at the quality of curd. Too good.
I travel to the Bay Area once every year and ever since I tried this place I make sure to eat atleast once here because I have always had a good experience. I ordered a paneer paratha and masala chai delivered to my hotel and it came on time hot and fresh. Also tried their methi puri and chole for lunch with salted lassi and it was delicious. Would recommend this place for some authentic North Indian food.
The first time we went around April ‘25, I ordered paneer paratha, wasn’t impressed, very low filling. However, we went back again recently in September ‘25, granted we went basically during their closing time on a Sunday, they still took our order. First of great customer service. Second, this time I decided to order aloo pyaz paratha…OMG! Delicious, very well filled with filling, didn’t feel like I was eating dough, good amount of dahi with the paratha too. I would recommend again. Not sure why April was not a good experience, less dahi, less filling and ok service. Kudos on the improvement! We will be back!
They serve traditional vegetarian ‘Indian Fast-food’, aka Chaat. Lots of dishes to explore with flavors, textures that will blissfully explode in your mouth. A great place to visit with friends and family, order multiple dishes and share (experience will be like Spanish Tapas or Chinese Dim Sum).
Delhiwala Chaat is one of our go-to places for comfort food. We usually order to-go, and our favorites are consistent: Chhole Bhature for me, Paneer Paratha for my husband, and Aloo Paratha for the kids. What stands out the most is that it doesn’t taste like typical restaurant food. Instead, it reminds me of the hearty breakfasts I used to enjoy at my Punjabi friends’ homes in India, lovingly made by their moms. If you’re craving simple, wholesome North Indian comfort food that feels like home, Delhiwala Chaat is a must-try!
Another chaat place that we spotted recently in Sunnyvale. Parking can be a bit tight but it’s every bit worth it waiting for the last spot that you could get around to park :).. Got seated inside and we started with an order of 2 samosa chaat, bhalla papdi chaat, aloo tiki ( no chole) as our appetizers . We did end up ordering paneer pakora as well ( with our second round) so that we could enjoy those with the tea. Samosa chaat was great and I heard the same about the aloo tiki and bhalla papdi chaat as well. Pretty authentic taste I’d say. For our round 2 we got a couple of chole bhature and I ended up getting Hara bhara paratha. We did order a mango lassi as well ( which turned out to be just ok) and tea which did turn out to be very very strong and it looked like it was left for long on the stove to be made. The paneer pakora as well needs a bit more work when it comes to taste though overall we had a great experience. Worth a try!!! ===== Review from a visit a few months or so ago ======= We had an incredible experience at Delhiwala Chaat in Sunnyvale, CA. The cozy spot delighted us with authentic flavors and perfect preparation. Parking is usually never a problem as they have ample spots around the restaurant. The seating is available both inside and outside as well. We started with their Tea, which was beautifully brewed--strong yet smooth, providing the perfect warm-up for our meal. Next came the Bread Pakora, a crispy golden treat with a savory filling. The pakora was perfectly fried, with just the right crunch, and paired wonderfully with the mint and sweet chutneys that added a burst of tanginess and sweetness. The highlight of our meal was the Aloo Tikki Chaat with Chole. The tikki was expertly spiced and crispy, topped with soft, flavorful chole that balanced the dish beautifully. The order comes with tangy chutneys, creamy yogurt, and fresh garnishes, every bite was an explosion of authentic chaat flavors. Everything was spot on, making it an unforgettable culinary experience. Whether you're a chaat lover or just exploring, Delhiwala Chaat is a must-visit for a taste of Indian street food done to perfection!
We have been coming to this place since 3 years and the food has been consistently amazing! They got the best chhole bhature in the bay area. Bread pakoda is another favorite dish. Sev batata dahi puri is also crispy and delicious! They have ample inside and outdoor seating. Only self service. Staff is welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend for North Indian food and chaat.
We stopped over for a quick bite on a weekend afternoon. Tried Aloo Paratha. It was fantastic, very flavorful served with enough curd and some pickle. The size was good enough for the two of us since we weren't much hungry at the time. But normally, one would be quite fulfilling for one person. We mainly chose to visit because it is a vegetarian restaurant. They have an amazing assortment of quick North Indian and street food. They seem to have low operational cost since there was no table service. You order at the counter and pick up when ready. You are served in disposable plates and are expected to put in trash cans while leaving. They have focused on food quantity and quality instead. Good strategy! I'd suggest to order multiple items and share instead of 2 people ordering the same dish. We will be back for Chole Bhature and Chaat options. Edit: We visited again last week and enjoyed the following: 1. Chole Bhature - The best I had in Bay area. So fluffy, light and delightful. Chole were the typical black ones with perfect amount of spices. 2. Paneer Chole Bhature - This was unique for me. Paneer stuffed Bhature!! Must try.. 3. Gobi Paratha - I'm already a fan of how big and well cooked their parathas are. This is a good one to try. 4. Dahi Batata Sev Puri - Too good !! Edit # 2: We visited again and tried Bread Pakora and Lassi along with some of what's mentioned above. Edit # 3: I have been here a few times now and dined outdoors for the first time. It's much better from pictures point of view! Added new ones to the review. Pakora was very oily so I would suggest to share instead of one person consuming the whole thing. Delicious one to try though! **Follow my Instagram food blog @veggie_central for more reels and pictures!
My first time here today for afternoon snacks. My husband's been before and suggested it when I said I wanted gol gappe. I was surprised there was no masala on the alloo and sholay but the pani was superb, so no extra masala or spice was needed! The samosas were fresh and the chutneys were thick and yummy, not watered down. The sholay were flavorful and the bhature were also fresh and flaky. The restaurant is very basic with minimal decor and it is self-sevice. The food came to the counter quickly and we were pretty happy. Can't wait to return to try some chaats!
Very nice place for snacks. I initially ordered only dahi papdi chat from Doordash and I got too happy with the taste so decided to go visit in person to explore the place even more. Mg favorites from here : Dahi papadi chat, chole bhature, Aloo paratha & Muli paratha. Parathas are pretty bing in size so for me I always share it with someone or needs to go box🤭. While we visited, I was super impressed with their order taking system. Of course it gets crowded and you might have to wait in a line for few minutes but this place is worth to wait in a line. Due to their unique order taking system the food gets served faster. I liked it.
I have to update my review from 2023. After coming here again many more times since 2023, I have to say they completely nail it when it comes to hospitality, authentic/homestyle dhaba flavors, and me…
Best paani poori and chole Bhature and DBSV (Dahi batata sev poori) in the bay. Cant get enough of it. \nWe go there almost every week!
Truly authentic dilli wala chaat. The owners and staff are very kind and helpful. If you are looking for flavors from purni dilli, this is a must visit.
The staff was amazing. They were nice and courteous. The food tasted like food from India . Totally recommend this place
Excellent food, quick service, and quiet ambiance to enjoy it - can't ask for more. Plenty of parking to make any visit convenient.
Excellent food, quick service, and quiet ambiance to enjoy it - can't ask for more. Plenty of parking to make any visit convenient.
If I could rate them 8/5 I would. As soon as you enter the restaurant, it looks like a dhaba style eatery. It's right on the corner of a busy intersection and there's a very open outdoor seating ar…
The food is great. One star less because I felt the Bhel Puri could be better. However, The Chole Bhature is prolly the best In Sunnyvale and their Gulab Jamun Sundae is to die for!!!! It’s toooooo good and is a must try.
CHOLE-BHATURE NOT DILLI-AUTHENTIC: Overrated and Expensive It’s a nice place to go with friends and enjoy delicious delhi street food. Batata Sev poori chat, paranthas and chole-bhature are excellent. Jal-jeera drinks was a pleasant surprise Cons - Too expensive, same/better delicious food available at lower price. One parantha for $9??? Chole-Bhature are nice but not delhi-authentic. I come from delhi, this is not even close, it’s maida poori rather than a bhature.
Decent food and ambiance. We ordered Chole Batura (with paneer) and Bhel Puri. Chole was very tasty and Batura with paneer was a first for me. Both very good. The Bhel Puri was as usual. We ended it with a tea and Rasmalai. The Rasmalai order comes with 2 pieces and is very delicious. The tea is also very good and spicy.
We had Paneer Stuffing Chole Bhature here since heard from friend that this is one of the best place to have Delhi Style Chole Bhature in Bay Area. From my personal experience, I would say Chole was really amazing and taste soooo good but somehow that Bhature turns more oily than expected. Not sure it just happened with us but yes that's what we felt. Go and check it out and share your experience too if you feel the same.
The vibe is casual and perfect for a quick bite or a snacky hangout. Staff is friendly and the service is quick. It’s clear they take pride in keeping the chaat true to Delhi-style, and that little extra spice and crunch makes all the difference. Great prices, flavorful food, and that nostalgic taste of Indian street eat
Good spot to grab lunch or quick bites. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating and the dining is self-service. The outdoor seating is perfect for spring/summer as there is a lot of greenery around. We had the - Chole Bhatura - Aloo Paratha The Chole bhatura was pretty good and had 2 big Bhaturas. There are other similar spots nearby that offer similar menu items but I really liked their bhatura as it was soft and fluffy. Wish they gave extra chole in the main plate. The Aloo Paratha lacked any spice and flavor, it was huge and filling but quite bland. They gave a good amount of yogurt and pickle to have with the paratha.
I have only tried the Chole Bhature and aloo tikki Chaat here. The Chola bhatura is one the best I have had in the Sunnyvale area. However, some days the bhaturas are on oily side.
Pros: finally a place to eat for around $10-11 per person and fresh food too rather than instant/frozen! They don’t cook in soy based oil either. 5% discount if you pay in cash. I wish though their quantity of the samosa chaat was more, similar to the dahi chaat, and a bit less watery.
So i have been here twice. What i really liked is chaat and chola bhatura. Non oily bhature with tasty chola 😋 The parathas are disappointing. The masala was simply bland even lacked salt. We asked them to remake a paratha but that was a tad bit better. They really need to change recipe for paratha masala.
We came to Delhiwala Chaat on a Sunday morning for brunch, and there wasn’t a lot of rush. We ordered quite a bit of food—Aloo Pyaaz Paratha, Paneer Paratha, Chole Bhature, Dahi Papdi Chaat and Chai. Chole Bhature tasted great, the bhaturas weren’t oily, and the chole hit the spot. The chaat was also decent and was quite piquant, though it fell way short of tasting amazing. And the same was true for parathas, the taste for which could be rated mediocre to decent at best. They also serve dahi(yogurt), chopped onions and achaar(pickle) with parathas, which is nice. You order at the reception, and pay for the food. They then either call out your name or bring your food to your table. They’ve seating inside as well as outside. They’ve parking available outside too. The staff is polite, and does their best. They ran out of chai, and since we had already paid for it, they offered us a free rasmalai to compensate for it, which I thought was a nice gesture. Overall, it’s a decent place to satisfy your North Indian food cravings.
This is an Indian restaurant with cheaper rates. Most of them are self service. You need to place your order by yourself and pick up the food item. The food is tasty. Some of the food items can be improved. I had tried sev dahi poori. Overall it was ok but it didn't have the great taste as compared to other Indian restaurants. The parathas are tasty. I liked the aloo and paneer paratha. They were good. The size of the paratha was also big.
Chole Bhature is the best item on the menu here. Probably the best Chole Bhature in Bay Area. They also offer outdoor seating. Summer and Spring afternoons/evenings are perfect for some hot chat/snacks. We also tried the Aloo Paratha here and really liked it. Wish it had been more spicy, but pickle and curd are a good side to this item! Though most items here look over priced, they actually offer a good amount of quantity, so the pricing is somewhat justified…
It was nice to try authentic Indian food! This place was really busy full of local Indian people. I love the vibes here. It’s more like street food place even though it’s actually dine-in. We were with a local friend and the food he recommended was amazing and so interesting! I will come back again to try other menu too.
I had been meaning to get takeout from this place for a long time. This is a purely vegetarian place offering some popular snacks and shakes from north India - primarily the Delhi, UP and Punjab region. They basically thrive on the nostalgia factor - feeding home-sick Indians in the Bay Area with their childhood snacks. Originally a food truck, it’s grown into a super popular restaurant with a jolly uncle ji at the helm. Here’s what we got: 1. Chhola bhatura- this is one of their most popular dish and is served with onions, lemon, pickle and green chilli. I really liked the bhatura - perfect size and not too oily. The chhola tasted fine but was too watery. I also wish they had given more pickle. Also I felt the quantity of the chickpeas was small compared to the size of the bhatura. 2. Bread pakora - bread stuffed with cottage cheese and potatoes and deep fried in oil, served with two types of chutneys. This was really the best dish - although I wish it had more paneer and the chutney was less watery. Oh well, you can’t have it all. But it tasted good. 3. Samosas- medium sized and slightly on the milder spicy side. Tasted fine. You get two samosas for 4.99. I decent lunch meal. I did feel that the quantity and size of things was on the lower end, especially for the price. Also the chutneys and chickpeas were slightly watery. But it’s a good place to go to when you’re craving Indian snack items. They also have a nice seating area which unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy. It would also be worth trying their shakes including the rose lassi.
The sev puri, vada pav, and aloo tikki was good. Dahi papdi was not great. There was way too much yogurt and not enough of other flavors.
Looking forward to trying more items. My mom is hard to please and she complimented the food. Dahi sev puri- 5/5 right balance of sweet and savory. Not too spicy 🌶️, but enough heat to complement the flavors and textures. The chutneys were flavorful which is important as it’s an integral to the dish. Chili/paneer pakora- 5/5couldn’t decide on one luckily they have half of each offering yay. Fried to golden perfection. It’s simple dish and if texture is off it ruins the experience. Have been disappointed by pakora at so many restaurants because it’s over cooked, under cooked or just straight out bland. This had the flavor and textures, ajwain in chili pakora is lovely. The chutney just adds an extra flavor boost. The ratio of batter is just right too. Another pet peeve is when restaurants mess up ratio of filling to batter. I have literally had over fried outside and raw chili pakora at other places. Mooli paratha- 3/5 this is a flat bread stuffed with daikon/radish. Overall good but stuffing was tad stringy and dry. I know radish can let off a lot of moisture so maybe they precooked it before stuffing it into dough. Gulab jamun to top off the meal. Excellent too. We didn’t finish the pakora and paratha so we had room for a sweet treat and chai. $50 well spent for satisfying food. We have some left overs to enjoy as well I felt the portion was generous but we don’t have ravenous appetite.
Had a satisfying dining experience today at this restaurant. The place is clean and inviting, with a small but charming outdoor seating area. The Aloo Paratha was generously filled and served with delicious mixed achaar and curd. The Chole and Bhature was well-prepared, with fluffy and crisp bhature, although the Chole could have been better. The Dahi Batata Sev Puri was a standout dish. Overall, it's a great spot for vegetarians and those craving chaat options. While not fancy, the restaurant offers tasty food and friendly service. Highly recommend for a satisfying meal. Deducting one star for the mildly spiced Aloo Paratha, could use a bit more kick.
Dined in with family. Authentic Delhi style chole and bature. Their appetizers looked a bit oily. My recommendation is paneer chole bature. Harabara paratha, paneer paratha and plain paratha were good. Chole could be a bit more spicy but it tasted good I would avoid lassi or jaljera here. Chai was nice and they offered it as a complimentary option at closing time around 8.30 PM Yogurt was missing the sourness that you typically taste in Indian restaurant. Dahi puri was just okay as I have tasted better ones elsewhere Aloo tikki chole was my appetizer pick

Tried the chole bhatura and bread pakora. Bhatura were super nice however chole could've been better. ambience was nice, the outdoor patio on a nice day made it better.
Never get pav bhaji here. It's drenched in oil. Apparently not good oil either. Had food poisoning due to that. Their Parathas and Chole are hit and miss. The only thing good here is Samosas. I would just stick to those. Their service also fails at scale. They had my order ready and sitting on the shelf for 15 min. Even after asking for number of times they did not entertain me. And I could see 10 other people in the same boat. On top of that, their owner keeps advertising to order from their own website as opposed to doordash, when they charge actually extra than doordash. Even though this place is the closest to me than any other restaurants, I think of it as the last resort.
Expensive and chaotic (when busy on weekends) but good Chole Bhature. Would rate this place 3.5/5. Used to visit this place often in the past but with the recent price increase I don't feel like it is worth it unless I am really craving for Chole Bhature. This place can get very busy on weekends in the evening with wait times upwards of 30 minutes to get your food. Their order pick up system is annoying when busy as they shout out your name at the service counter and you need to go pick it up which means you have to pay close attention while waiting.
Diet: Vegan Had the channa masala (asked for a small portion as a side dish) and sev puri. 1. Chana masala (3/5) - it was okay. 2. Sev puri (3/5) - had too much tamarind and green chutney, the sev was spicy so I could only taste that. It’s great but I’ve had better so not rating it too high. But it’s a good place to visit.
I’ve been coming here often because of the food quality but was quite disappointed today with their bread pakoras that seemed to have no besan coating at all. As a result the bread had soaked so much oil that had to literally use 3-4 tissues per piece to drain the oil so I could eat them.
Classic Delights with a Premium Pinch Review: As a connoisseur of Indian street food, I recently found myself at Delhiwala Chaat Restaurant, a venue that promised to tantalize my palate with authentic Delhi chaats. Upon entering, the ambiance was pleasing, with a decor that playfully alluded to the hustle and bustle of Delhi's food stalls. The highlight, without a doubt, was the chaat. This place offers a variety of chaats with the right balance of tang, spice, and crunch. Particularly, their Golgappas, Aloo Tikki, and Dahi Bhalle are a must-try, each telling a mouthwatering story of the myriad flavors of Indian street food. The piquant chutneys and the savory fillings left a delightful aftertaste, bringing back fond memories of food walks in the bylanes of Old Delhi. Adding to the experience was the service. Prompt, efficient, and courteous, the staff truly knew their menu and seemed genuinely invested in creating a satisfactory dining experience. Despite the restaurant being quite busy during my visit, the service remained swift without any notable delays. However, the overall impression was marred by the pricing. For the portion sizes provided, I found the dishes to be somewhat overpriced. While I understand that the restaurant is offering an authentic dining experience with quality ingredients, the cost felt a tad steep for chaat, traditionally known for being delicious yet affordable street food. All things considered, Delhiwala Chaat Restaurant offers an enjoyable taste of Delhi street food, backed up by efficient and friendly service. Despite the prices, it’s a good place to experience chaat in a comfortable and clean environment. This place receives a solid 3 stars from me, taking into account the quality of food, the service, and the slightly over-the-top prices. It would be nice to see them reevaluate their pricing to truly embody the spirit of street food.
Decent place to get a quick bite. We went here around 3 pm on a weekend. Order consisted of bhelpuri, aloo tikki - no chole, Chole bhature: his was the star of the show. Nice flaky bhatures exactly the way top places serve in India. It is served with apt accompaniments viz. the chole (ofcourse), cut onions, tangy pickle, and cut pepper. Aloo tikki - no chole: We orderd without chole since we're already having chole with bhature. It was seasoned well and tasted good. Bhelpuri: This was a bit disappointing. It was seasoned below par and was a bit too soggy. Ambience: This is one of the reason for the removing stars from the review. The owners/servers do not walk the dining floor at all. There are customers that do not not clean up after themselves and leave behind soiled tables and chairs. However, there are no sanitizing wipes or spray to clean the table for/by the diners. Process: look up the menu at the counter, order, pay and select an empty seat. The name on the card you used for making the payment will be your order name. If you choose outdoor seating your name will be announced on the loudspeaker. Quantity: Good Parking: Good Times visited: 1
We stopped in to see how the food truck had translated to a brick & mortar restaurant, and to see if and how they’d transformed the the Tu Mero Mole spot. The food was alright, we’d asked for no red onions on top, which was ignored and everything was covered in them. The staff was friendly but the food was oily, especially the the paratha, the yogurt has a weird consistency, and the chai was bland. Probably not going to be our regular chaat spot.

I tried the chole bhature, the bhature were nice and fluffy, however the chole could've been better. The price is what would deter me from being a regular visitor. The outdoor dining was a nice pla…

Great location and easily accessible. Lot of indoor and outdoor space but the place gets really busy so parking can be tight. Service is fast especially for the chaats/appetizers. The food is okay.…

The chaats and parathas are good but the ambience and service is poor. The place isn't cheap either. Chaats are $12 and paratha is $12 too. If you are looking for a good ambience skip this place and head to mountain view to Chaat Bhavan
Unfortunately, the quality of chole bhature have gone down significantly. There used to be time (maybe 2 yrs ago) when the chole bahture tasted amazing, but we have tried chole bhature twice now and they no longer have that magic. We also tried vada pav, pav bhaji & bread pakora and it was decent, but not worth coming in again.
Mid quality food if one knows what a good Indian food tastes at home.
Food was okay. We ordered bread pakora and paneer Bhatura Chole. Masala in bread pakora was not good - just boiled potatoes with not much flavor. For paneer Bhatura, you pay extra for paneer but it didn't seem there was much paneer in there. I'd not want to pay $19 for paneer Bhatura Chole dish. I'd not come again
Drive from far to eat here. Really, really expensive for the mediocre food. With the plethora of food choices in the area, I did not see how they stand out. They forgot half our order, and when rem…
Don't buy coffee, it's pure water, no milk. They don't replace it nor refund you. So better not buy coffee/tea at this place.
Ordered chatpata Aloo snack - worst ever - large chunks of aloo deep fried with chatpata masala over it - for this it costed $9.99 Plain samosa - you can tell it was deep fried in RE-USED oil and had some smell Pani poori, it was pathetic. stuffing was all frozen potato, with not much masala. liquid (straight from deep freezer) was like hajmola mix. We can do better at home Any of their chat items are not made fresh ... just mix some stuff in your to-go box and done Quite expensive as well, not at all great tasting food ... looks like after moving to permanent building, they are going to be closed soon with this type of food quality
Stale food! Not value for money!! We ordered samosa chaat and chhole bhature. Bhature was good/normal but chhole were stale. Unfortunately our both items have it so nothing was tasty for us. We used to come here for chaat or pani puri and it was good but now we will never eat from this place.
Hot food in plastic container for To-go? Come on. The food is so hot and plastic is bendy by the time it reached home, please use better cardboard/non plastic containers or don’t pour such hot food. Unnecessary cancer risk.
I am originally from Delhi, and this food does not at all taste like Delhi. It's more closer to perception of Delhi food in certain parts of India like Mumbai. I did not find it edible. Their Chole Bhature was not at all Delhi style. Basically the chole in Delhi is made with a gravy of onions and a specific masala and is blackened, but their chole is more like a ready-made chole which no one from Delhi usually eats. I believe this place should remove Delhi reference in their name since it's very misleading.
If I could, I would give a negative star. Honestly, after all these years in the Bay Area, I have never eveeerrrrrr had this terrible experience even at a fast food restaurant. The entire place is so screwed up, I have no idea how they are stil in business. The staff and their service is hoplesss,, rude and the food - such an overpriced , sub par taste, atmosphere - looks soo dirty. How on earth is their chole bature even highly rated ? Haven’t tasted a more sub par chole in my life. I’m sure if you try making this at home, you can do a better job. Dahi balla papadi chaat - why do you have nachos and not papadi ? I’m sooo confused with the whole reviews which are highly rated. We spent 40$ at this place and I don’t think it was even worth a single penny. So over priced, and worthless. Please save your money and take your business elsewhere. I don’t think there is shortage of places with much better service , food and ambience in Bay Area.
I ordered chole bhature and chole tikki chaat here, and the food arrived in about 10 minutes. However, the food was not hot at all. It was served almost lukewarm, which completely ruined the experience. For dishes like these, temperature is everything, and they failed badly. On top of that, everything is self-service. They don’t provide spoons, tissues, or even water with the order. You have to get up from your table and collect everything yourself, which makes the experience even more frustrating. The taste was ordinary, nothing special, and because the food wasn’t served hot, we couldn’t enjoy any of it. The atmosphere and cleanliness were extremely poor. There were insects flying around inside the restaurant, which is the last thing no one wants to see while eating. Service-wise, there was no sense of hygiene or responsibility. For a place charging around $40, the overall quality was far below even basic expectations. So considering food temperature, taste, service, atmosphere, and cleanliness, this place deserves 1 star only. Definitely not worth the money or the visit.
Absolutely disgusting experience at Delhi Wala Chat. I found a hair in my food and when I showed it to the staff, they didn’t even bother to say sorry. No apology. No explanation. Just a cold and careless “ok” like it was no big deal. On top of that, they charge prices that are almost at par with proper dine-in restaurants, yet serve everything in cheap disposable plates and expect customers to self-serve. No basic hygiene. No basic courtesy. No service. It’s shocking how a place can be this careless about both food safety and customer experience. Avoid this place at all costs. Eating here felt like a mistake from the moment I walked in.
